SavageResponse: I'm not a forex trader and have no experience in it.
The only thing I know about forex trading is based on the research I have done and information I have suggests that only a very small percentage of forex traders are actually profitable...the rest who are in the majority are busy chasing referral bonus, training fees, third party account management etc.
It's mostly the failed ones that open threads on Nairaland trying to deceive people with the 'Audio money' they're making from forex trading eg Leonardemma1 etc So you are just an arm chair theorist |

Publicly traded companies. Federal government reserves. Big banks e.t.c

Vaughanlanrewaj: It is a lie! We will not replace one economic tyrant with another economic tyrant as a nation. Let SEC, EFCC, FIRS ,Customs move in and check all the claims and counter claims. From Dangote to BUA to FMN to LaFarge and others.. All we want is peace, progress and justice. These monumental economic sabotage going on in the Sugar and cement scandals must be investigated and prosecuted. Any company that gets indicted should have their management sacked and replaced by interim management like NAICOM did to Goldlink Insurance Plc, SEC did to Oando and so on.visit www.freestuffsng.com for latest freestuffs in Nigeria. jedisco: It's easy to see a snippet and forget about the bigger picture.
For stocks and most investments, i always want to look at performance over time, at least 7-10 years before investing cos markets generally have a pattern to them... Except it's a quick trade or a novel company where it's tricky to judge
On Guiness, that's it's performance overtime. I first used a line chart to take away the noise. Price in 2013 -270 2014- 180 2015- 150 2016 -95 2017- 60 2018-110 2109 -48 2020-15.
When something is that down that much, a small rally doesn't mean much... It's what's called a dead cat bounce... Also, the dividend yield has been as low as 0.7% in some of the years Some people would look at the current price and want to be Warren Buffet and buy at the lows... Well, good for them. But if something fundamental and novel hasn't changed with the company/market, it's more likely the price will revisit 15 naira or even lower I know you wouldnt touch NSE with a 10-ft pole |

Not a bad Investment by all standards, capital appreciation, inflation proof and dividend growth I understand FG is planning to issue another Eurobond this year. Any idea on the possible dates? Also, apart from Seplat, what other corporate eurobonds are you aware of? |

See wahala Depends on which side of the table you are on. The S&P 500 has been setting new highs everyday this week. Nasdaq is already tinkering with a new record high. Tech stocks are currently cheap compared to last year. Infrastuture stocks are primed to run based on Biden's plan. Retail, travel and entertainment stocks are growing fat. This is the time to roll up the sleeves and dig deep and not just wait for FAANG stocks. The market is broadening out. Just a position after DD and sit tight. |

The more red tapes, the more people lose confidence in the naira the more the naira will fall. The banks are seriously fighting back. After decades of complancency and lack of innovation, they are realizing the rug would soon be pulled off their feet. Look at all the attacks on fintech. What they don't realize is that the clock is slowly winding up on them. MTN has already shown that Nigerians and companies may not need traditional banks in the future |

Or maybe some of us work for SEC and Buhari government You can never rule out the risk. The moniker (lavylilly) raised valid points. Your govt has tracked people on Twitter. Incase you don't know, there are paid influencers for govt, politicians etc on this form operating under various monikers. But the point is it shouldnt stop us from sharing the light. |
