UNITA fought their wars and the SADF fought theirs.... the more complex battles were fought by the SADF, UNITA didn't have the capacity to do so.
UNITA shot down more MiG-23 at close range than SADF....Means UNITA faced more deadly air attacks than SADF.

80% of Angolan war was fought by UNITA in that bush war era, historical records show that !

Hahaha coming from someone who thinks that air gets more dens the higher you go!
No, quote where I said that.

I said on mountain altitude there is snow and cold ice air is denser than low land. I also posted a source to prove that even on low land on a cold day, our golf ball travels slower in the air because it gets denser as you go up.

I still recommend adult education for you sir, don't be ashamed to be the oldest man in the classroom.

South African Navy OPV and IPV purchase confirmed!!

South Africa will be ordering 3 OPV's and 3 IPV's
http://www.engineeringnews.co.za/article/start-of-acquisition-process-for-six-new-sa-navy-patrol-vessels-confirmed-2014-03-20

The interesting part

For reasons of seaworthiness and endurance, and to be able to effectively operate a helicopter, the new OPVs are expected to be much larger, displacing perhaps 2 000 t or even more.

Yes, that is right, our 3 new OPV's will all be bigger than Nigeria's new "light frigates" (which weigh in at 1,440 tons), meaning that (by the Nigerian definition) South Africa will have a fleet of 7 Frigates

((((((BBBBBOOOOOOMMMMMMM)))))))))

*pic unrelated
Bwahahaaha cheesy cheesy

Whom are you trying to fool ? Your old story article is dated
20th March 2014 by Keith Campbell, how come you are posting it December 2014 and yet no contract has been signed and no model type of OPV has been selected by your broke SANDF-SAN cheesy cheesy

No wonder you also added a fake photo to represent your non-existent and unnamed imaginary OPV.

Wow ! See what the envy of Nigeria's new jet fighter purchases have done to you in 7 days....boiling envy can lead to epilepsy cheesy cheesy

It stand for display as in the sight is displayed on the helmet and not only on the HUD, and as i have clearly stated before a hms and hmsd is the same, hence the reason the word OR was used to indicate that a helmet used for targeting or cueing of weapons can either be called a hms OR hmsd, its 2 different names for the same thing.

You need new eye glasses to read well? I said ALL olifant tanks, about 230 units, show me proof that they all have new engines, not your source that says you upgraded only 26 units to Mk. 2 version.

"In 2003, BAe Systems was awarded a contract to upgrade a stock of 26 Olifant Mk 1B production models to the Mk 2 standard. These are powered by a Continental diesel engine unit outputting at 1,040 horsepower."

SAAF/SADF shot down 3 Mig-23ML's in Angola
http://www.mercenary-wars.net/angola/angola-86-89/russian-downed-pilots.html
Nope ! Your own source says the MiG-23 were shot down by army anti--aircraft guns and missiles, not air to air jet combat that I am asking for.

You didn't know that last year @Andrewza admitted on this forum that South African Mirage F1 pilots could not challenge Cuban MiG-23 pilots air to air because the Cubans will wipe out SAAF from the air!

Also from your source we see that UNITA takes glory for 80% of the bush war effort as proved below :

October 24, 1987 MIG-23 ML? 1 Cap. Lorenzo Morales Ramos? Shot down by MANPADS (anti-aircraft force UNITA)
40. October 28, 1987 MIG-21 UM Luvuey - Lt. Cor. Manuel Rojas, Cap. Ramon Quesada Aguilar. Shot down by antiaircraft fire from UNITA. Captured.
41. November 25, 1987 MIG-21? ? No data.
42. November 29, 1987 MIG-23 ML Cuito? Felled by G-5 of the SADF.
43. November 29, 1987 MIG-23 ML Cuito? Felled by G-5 of the SADF.
44. November 29, 1987 MIG-23 ML Cuito? UNITA shot down by MANPADS
45. November 29, 1987 MIG-23 ML Cuito? UNITA shot down by MANPADS
46. December 12, 1987 MIG-21 Cuito? UNITA shot down by MANPADS
47. December 20, 1987 MI-8T Tempue 1 1er.Tte. Alejandro Diaz
48. January 14, 1988 MIG-23 ML Cuito - Cap. Francisco A. Doval. UNITA shot down by MANPADS.

South Africa did not do much fighting in Angola, UNITA rebels of Savimbi did all the big jobs ! Proved above . Fact !

Yes i did say i think the JF-17 is a good fighter for a cheap price that suit NAFs need , but its not in the same class as the gripen in terms of capability Gripen=Merc JF-17=toyota both good fighters but thats way the gripen is more expensive because you get more features for your money! but hey maby NAF will buy the gripen one day if the need arises.
I posted source of why JF-17 is cheap, free technology of J-10 engineering works given to Pakistan almost for free, the whole R & D cost was as low as $500 million !

Gripen costs Billions of dollars R & D.....and also Europeans over-price their products, like the Volvo cost more than Toyota but Toyoto is far more reliable and better all round specs/performance.

SAAF bought over-priced Gripen, thanks to the millions of dollars bribe payed to ANC politicians by SAAB Sweden.

A jet that sells by bribery and corruption must be over-priced and not worth the money !
