Politics / Ekiti Shooting: Olusola Eleka Demands Overhaul Of Security Architecture by AishaYesufu: 2:05pm On Mar 07, 2021
The immediate past deputy governor of Ekiti state, Professor Kolapo Olusola Eleka, has demanded an overhaul of Ekiti state security architecture.

Professor Eleka stated this through a statement that was personally signed by him in reaction to the shooting of two farmers in Ekiti state by Fulani herdsmen.

Read statement below;

"My attention has just been drawn to another unfortunate incidence of Bandits, who indiscriminately shot 2 people in Ikole Ekiti last night, which allegedly claimed one life and landed the other in a critical condition at Ikole Teaching Hospital.

Like I have always reiterated, the security of our dear people in Ekiti state is important and should be taken seriously; as a matter of fact, this is the essence of Government.

I thereby call on the Governor to act swiftly to the security challenges that is bedevilling our state, and bring all culprits to book so as to serve as deterrent to others.

Furthermore, the current security mechanism in the state should be overhauled, bringing security closer to the people. We can't continue to mourn our loved ones nor live in fear, enough is enough.

I also call on the good people of Ekiti State to be security conscious as they go about their legitimate daily activities. May we not mourn our loved ones again as a result of this menace in Jesus Name. Amen

Prof. Kolapo Olusola Eleka

Former Deputy Governor of Ekiti state"

Politics / Pdp S/w Congress: Fayose, Aribasala Are Doctoring Ekiti Delegate Lists by AishaYesufu: 8:17am On Mar 07, 2021
PDP S/W CONGRESS: FAYOSE CONNIVING WITH PDP NATIONAL TREASURER TO DOCTOR EKITI DELEGATE LIST

Mr Ayo Fayose is already showing symptoms of a frustrated loser after seeing the handwriting on the wall concerning the forthcoming PDP zonal elections. The race to taking control of the south west PDP is slipping out of his control concerning the Ekiti delegates who has discovered are just beating the “BATA” drum for him to dance to as they cheer him on to his coming disaster.

Most of the delegates have seen him for the greed and personal aggradizement he represents. His perceived popularity has diminished drastically over the past weeks and this has caused a lot of anxiety and panic in his camp.

One of his supposedly core loyalists is already angry that he was promised Senate but Fayose is no longer talking about it. He said this is his trademark, "he'll promise you heaven and deliver hell" and they are ready to put him where he belongs. He sighted Adeyeye vs Eleka's primary.

Seeing that he is no longer that Mystified Osoko, he connived with PDP National Treasurer to doctor the Ekiti delegates list. The list was secretly brought in by Mr Adewale Aribisala in company of two others to Aribisala's residence in Abuja (as shown in the pictures above) where he handed it over to Fayose and he flew it down to Lagos where it was discovered that over 70% on that list would not do his bidding on the congress ground. You can see his team cross examining the list in his Ikeja residence.

This is presently causing a lot of chaos within his camp on the ground that he doesn’t know who to trust again.

He is presently doing everything within his reach to make sure he doesn’t have a grand slamming disgrace from the delegates from his group, especially from Ekiti state, his main domain which is expected to be 100% for his group.

The National Treasurer hosted Fayose in his Abuja home where it was perfected how to doctor the delegates list.
As of now, information reaching us and the document made available shown that he has changed all the 16 AD-HOC delegates to the old one used in 2019 and also removed all the former Presiding Officers of the House of Assembly.

The source furthermore said they are all fed up of fayose’s excesses but none dare say it to his face. Who is contesting? who is having media publicity? "Oga thinks all of us are fools, he likes taking the shine all to himself all the time." How many past leaders are behaving the way he is behaving; is he better than Saraki, Donald Duke and the others but every time and everything must be about him.

The questions are: Was it not the same Fayose who was making noise that the NWC should hold the zonal congress timely at all cost and creating scenes about his winning chances now he is running to court for injunctions to stop the same zonal congress he has won in his Afao home? Mr Ayo Fayose is indeed jittery and only rabble-rouser like him would still find him interesting.

Although other NWC members of PDP are already tired of Fayose's destructive attitudes, Aribisala has promised Fayose to work on them, most especially the National Chairman, Uche Secondus to perfect their plot to adopt the doctored delegates list from Ekiti because of his second term agenda.

Mr Ayo Fayose this your plan won't work.

Politics / Ekiti 2022 And The Choice Of The Youths by AishaYesufu: 9:41am On Mar 05, 2021
The freedom of youths to exercise their potentials is rooted in the leadership that recognizes potentials beyond politics and have concrete plans to optimize those potentials in Governance for the benefit of the youths and generations to come is a blessing to those who can identify this great opportunity

Politics is usually framed up as a game but in reality, it is a determinant factor in the liberation, prosperity and well-being of the people which links all their spheres of influence together.

The population of youths in Ekiti state is more than half of the entire population of the state, which calls for investments in youths if the state is going to live up to her potentials. Hence, participating in politics is a responsibility for every youth in Ekiti State. Politics for youths in the Fountain of Knowledge must be more than a game but a push for a better future.

As a matter of fact, the rising unemployment rate and poverty rate in Ekiti state according to available statistics in year 2020, shows that for the survival of Ekiti state and avoiding her bankruptcy, it is both a moral and legal duty for youths to participate in politics of the state to determine who directs the affairs of their lives per time.

Furthermore, a leader who doesn't believe in the power of young people cannot work with them in creating a better future with them. Many will profess that belief but their actions and antecedents say it all. We are in a generation of active collaboration between the leadership and the led because the new norm of leadership is participatory leadership - it is at both ends.

Interestingly, our state has found a refuge in the capability of Prof Kolapo Olusola Eleka, who has devoted more than half of his life to the development of youths by creating a better future for them. His success records in Obafemi Awolowo University, Christ Apostolic Church Students' Association and as Deputy Governor of Ekiti State for four years are verifiable proofs that he will continue to invest in youths and create an enabling environment for them to thrive.

He understands the nature of youths, their developmental capabilities and potentials and how these can be channeled to bring out the best from them. This is more than just appointments (which he will definitely do), but it involves engaging and encouraging the youths to demonstrate and maximize their potentials creating an environment and system that works .

The time has come for Ekiti youths to take actions and pull support for the man who raises leaders and made men rather than breeding followers with no hope of a better tomorrow.

It is time we set our priorities right. We all can't be comfortable with the bootlicking attitude or be in support of the same school of thought that sees only youths as political tools for winning elections and leaving them to destruction afterwards.

Its is crystal clear Prof ELEKA is one outstanding man who is ready to work with the youths if elected as the GOVERNOR of EKITI STATE in 2022.

He has concrete plans to invest in the future of the youths. We should all converge to rise to the occasion. It's a call to duty.

Let's stand to support the intelligent and articulate Professor of Building who won't only create conducive environment for youths to thrive but also rebuild our broken walls. The truth is that you can't give what you don't have and it will be suicidal to support aspirants without years of experience on how to develop youths or create a working environment for their development.

Ekiti Youths, stand up and join the train to rebuild our broken walls of development and discover new grounds for economic prosperity and sustainable governance.

Politics / Middlebelt Dissociates From North, Says The Chord With South Remains Unbroken by AishaYesufu: 7:52pm On Mar 03, 2021
WE IN THE MIDDLE-BELT SHALL CONTINUE TO SELL FARM PRODUCE TO OUR SOUTHERN BROTHERS.

The Middle Belt Forum, Kaduna State chapter, has rejected any attempt by any group or individual to block the supply of food items to the southern part of the country.

The group noted that as all ethnic nationalities within the Middle Belt region comprising youths, farmers, traders, artisans and others from Benue, Kogi, Taraba, Plateau, Nasarawa, Adamawa, Southern Borno, Southern Kaduna, Southern Bauchi, Southern Yobe, Kebbi, Niger, Kwara and FCT Abuja have disassociated themselves from attempts and calls by some disgruntled elements to block food supply to the southern part of the country.

John Haruna, Secretary, Middle Belt Forum, Kaduna State chapter, in a statement said the call is laughable, trash, nonsense in its entirety and unacceptable.

The statement stated, “We from the Middle Belt region of Nigeria shall continue to transact, do trade with and supply abundant food items to our Southern brothers who are so dear to us.”

It explained that no amount of blackmail shall force them to part away from Yorubas, Igbos Ijaws, Binis, Ibibios and others.

“Let it be known to this group that the era of divide and rule by the so called core north is over, completely buried and gone for good. Such cannot be tolerated any longer. We no longer accept deceit and lies from anybody,” the group explained.

The forum advised those who are championing and supporting the call to rethink and desist from further making such an empty treat that will not augur well for them and their sponsors.

According to the group, the forum warned that it would not accommodate or tolerate such reckless statement from any quarter and asked the group to stare clear of Middle Belt geographical territories.

“Middle Belt is not part of the north and Middle Belt region is capable and can feed the entire Nigeria including the so called core north. In fact, Benue and Kogi alone can feed the entire Nigeria twenty four calendar months, their dubious intention will be meet with stiff resistance. How on earth do you cut supply of what you don’t have or what you don’t produce?,” the forum wondered.

The forum asked those interested in blocking the transportation of food items to be careful as not to jeopardise the already existing good, harmonious working relationship with the Southern brothers, adding that they would not live any stone unturned to make sure they continue to maintain the existing good and cordial relationship with their Southern brothers.

Politics / Ekiti 2022: A Good Political Leader In Ekiti State by AishaYesufu: 1:17pm On Mar 02, 2021
By Adebowale Solomon

Leadership is about quality representation of followers and a desire to bring about a positive turn around.

This is usually driven by those who are not part of the old guard but a new breed of proven leaders, who use power for the so purpose of providing efficient and effective leadership especially in troubling times.

These are individuals who do not seek power but who have authority conferred on them by others who value their judgement, trust, capability to deliver and who will not compromise credibility.

Prof. Olusola Kolapo Eleka is one and he stands tall among others. What makes Prof. Eleka one of the respectable and charismatic & good political leader for this time ?

First, he is someone who serves as an example of integrity in office and loyalty to the people he represents, both to the public and to other political leaders .

He is also someone with good communication and inter-personal skills, who can work with different range of other people, regardless of their political party or opinion, to achieve the greatest good for the general population.

Furthermore, he is someone who can resist the various temptations and lures of the political arena, like the Biblical Daniel. He has a strong character, with a good conscience and right conviction to do the right thing in a right way and in a right manner cum approach.

Prof. Eleka is someone willing to listen to the needs of the common people and to represent them faithfully, in a form of participatory decision making.

One great attribute is that he has the courage to stand up and say what needs to be said – rather than just tell the general public what it wants to hear.

He is willing to make difficult (and possibly unpopular) decisions for the greater good.

Prof. Kolapo is an effective political leader. We know him. He's not weak.

An effective political leader like Professor Eleka, possesses a leadership style that focuses on coalition, building, inspiration and motivation.

His great negotiations skills has brought development and growth to sectors he has managed.

Furthermore, Professor Eleka's persuasion skills has endeared many to him making them see from the lens of development and growth than that of regrets and wishful thinking.

Conclusively, Eleka is a trusted and decent political leader, who will never fail us.
