Lol. This can never happen in Nigeria, for the lawyers to have twisted this case, they are indeed good.

Labour Law is basically about interpretation though
More than that. France labour laws and unions are very strong and tend to empower workers more than their employers. That's why workers union protest in France is no joke.

It's now like the apartheid years when most countries boycotted South Africa because of its apartheid policy. Sad that this new form of boycott is caused by the same people that the previous boycott of the apartheid era was meant to protect.

This is the main reason the people in position to improve the country would rather die than see Nigeria get better. They make so much money from the dysfunction in the system that is better the country looses the people that can /will fix it.

The Black South Africans are on the same path too. Chasing away the resourceful foreigners and indigenes and leaving behind the people who don't know left from right to be governed like sheep.

Most 1st world countries that accept immigrants from 3rd World countries only take the best of the crop. Many times they don't need your talent because their citizens are good at what they do. These 3rd world immigrants arrive and are forced to take up menial jobs to make ends meet.
You are generalizing too much. There are lot Nigerians and foreigners that belong to the top 25% income bracket in the West including US. Number Indians alone running IT services in US for example is huge. In fact they have a special visa for this group of immigrant workers. Problem is many immigrants are illegals meaning getting out to move up the career ladder is almost unlikely. The number of years it take them to become a legal resident mean that by then they are older and have lost the motivation to move up regular career ladder.

"Yoruba culture when somebody holds an office and he passes on they either give the bride or the close relatives. The next in line is B red’s daddy and he is just a happy person."

This boy is sick in the head. Is political office a chieftancy or obaship title that it's now about passing elected office to next relative in line? Not surprised, this boy is not wise, just as I expected.

He think everything is about liquid cash. If Osun state decides to face agricultural production alone, a year revenue will surpass what your family members can genuinely make in their lifetime. It's because you are all stuck in your old ways and can't ever imagine things can be turned around to build a more productive Osun state and productive citizens.

Most Nigerians think like zombie. I think she knew what she is doing. If everyone boycott, who will use this bigger platform to chastise African corrupt politicians who are to blame for all these economic migrants. Remember that some even die trying to cross the sea into Europe.

Anger but no action against their oppressors. I just returned from Lagos. Man, its terrible out there. Yes, there is anger and poverty in the land but all the people I spoke with, over 25 Taxify drivers of different social and educational background, told me that "God will do it".

Yes, they are still expecting God to come down from heaven to save them. No sense of personal responsibility or action.

Let us be objective here. It's like Nigerians are feeling entitled because we once help south Africans bring down apartheid. You dont help people solely because you want to benefit from them. Yes, we probably never thought Nigerians would be swarming to south Africa in the future when we were helping them. But even If we feel entitled, xenophobic attacks is not the answer. I just think most south Africans were not thought the true history of how other countries in Africa especially Nigeria helped them out. I can still remember those years watching the news and how much my heart hurt then for their travails. See what's happening now. It's a shame. I'd promised so many years ago never to step foot on South Africa even though I cherished Mandela so much.

Irrespective of the fact that there are drug buyers and consumers, there is no justification for dealing in hard drugs especially as a foreigner. Please be objective. What is bad is bad no matter who the players are.

Let's be rational here.

Police, kidnappers, ritualists, fake medicine, bad hospitals, and truck drivers waste the lives of innocent Nigerians everyday. What's all the noise now that South Africans are wasting lives? Is it because of a few lives lost in SA we will now protest? What of the hundreds of lives lost every day in Nigeria, caused by Nigerians and our government? Why don't we protest that?

Please don't say: "what if it was your relative killed in SA?" I have lost relatives in Nigeria to the aforementioned, and nobody protested for them, or people like them.

The protests/killings started because a (SA?) taxi driver was shot dead by a (NG?) drug dealer. Now everybody and their uncle is "reacting", losing perspective, and swearing up and down, yet doing nothing to back it up or cause for real change. The person who last called for a revolution protest march is cooling his heels in DSS custody, all but forgotten. As usual, I give these reactions 3 more days before we're on to the next distraction. Mtchew!
You got a point. But the taxi driver was not killed by a Nigeria. News has it that the poor fellow was killed by a Tanzanian.

It's more than what you think. It's the few that continue to control the masses and amass wealth. They gradually turned the masses to dumbo that can't reason or act in a logical way.

This is purely stupid. I trust myself. I know the way to the airport. How can you survive in a country where you can be killed or maimed at any time. So, you are telling us you value your temporary comfort in South Africa than you value your lives. Leave their country. Is it by force. The real battle is in Nigeria against the enemies of the people.

The attacks are on foreign nationals and not just Nigerians. Secondly, do you know the number of Nigerians that would be rendered unemployed if these companies were to pack up and go?

Thirldy, explain to me how revenge would solve the problem?
Would it not just lead to further danger to the Nigerians still there?
So, you put your stomach first before the lives of others. Human dignity first before anything else. If they pack and go another company will fill the vacuum. You Nigerians do not know how important and valuable Nigeria is. Sad, you all have been reduced mentally to almost nothing. This a over 200-million market. Other companies can't wait to cash in. The government is the only thing messing up Nigeria as well as docile and unconscious masses like you. Human dignity first.

Health › Re: Remove Camphor From Your Newborns, It Causes Jaundice – Aproko Doctor by ajl: 7:06pm On Sep 03, 2019
Camphor is not naphthalene. Naphthalene is a simpler 2-ring polyaromatic hydrocarbon while camphor is more a complex compound. Though both are very volatile and used as insect repellant s. Human body has a system of transforming naphthalene to non-toxic byproducts but sometimes carcinogenic byproducts can be formed. Similar enzymatic systems are used for camphor detoxification. I am not sure about the connection between camphor and jaundice. A search on Google could help.

To think I ran in here just to see this...
Money is at heart of most crimes in Nigeria. Most wanted criminals in orher countries are usually wanted for violent crimes. If only Nigerians can curb excessive their greed, we will be living in paradise.

Politics › Re: Aregbesola Directs NIS To Issue Passport Within 48 Hours by ajl: 5:50am On Aug 31, 2019
Here is a scheme perpetrated by Nigerian embassies/consulates with Atlanta consulate as example going by my experience there in June.

-They tell you no passport-book for 10 years passport (see reason why below), because issuing such reduces yearly number of applicants and source of income from their scheme.
2. There is a business center just across the consulate building run by a Nigerian. I believe owner is likely an employee of the consulate or someone with ties to the consulate, or someone in the consulate is getting a cut from the business center.
- You are directed there to purchase money order, and this business center charged a fee of $10 for money order of $60 or thereabout which normally cost $0.60 elsewhere.
-They never clearly tell you on their website to come with self-addressed envelope since most applicants travel in from other cities. Now you are left to purchase self-addressed UPS courier envelope from the business center at higher cost. Their cost for a courier from Atlanta to Houston area where I live was significantly more than what I paid for a UPS courier from Canada to my Houston-area address with similar content. Its all designed to "extort" applicants. Of course one could go elsewhere but not likely if you are not familiar with the area or if you do not come with a vehicle like most out-of-state applicants.

The presence of that business close by would have been better appreciated and a blessing if not for the obvious extortionist prices and obvious collaboration of consulate staff. So, their refusal to issue 10yr valid passport is deliberate as this will reduce number of applicants coming to the consulate and amount of money that business center makes.

This is misleading. According to what i just read on Washington Post, it does not target native Americans serving or working abroad but mainly targets recent immigrants, children of parents that have lived less than 5 years in the USA before serving or working outside United States.
