The people of any country that is blessed with abundant fertile land and all year-round sunlight but cannot feed itself does not deserve to exist. Such people deserve to be forced into mass slavery (once again) to countries like China and India and worked to death on farm lands and plantations with no pay. Some may be allowed to return back to Nigeria after they must learn to appreciate the importance of self-independence. Freedom is not meant for lazy people that lack foresight and who believe in nothing but find it okay to watch and spend money on BBNaija all day. |
GoodFaith:Bent mouth? That's Chrietien or something close to that? |
GoodFaith:Got your point. Well if your livelihood is tied to their system then you got no choice. But for how long? |
Gerrard59:I left Nigeria as a student in a foreign land nearly 2 decades ago. There is a point in your life you get to that foreign passport will not matter to you. Maybe for ease of traveling from point A to point B without wasting time and money for Visa application. So that's actually reason I eventually got one because I always need to go for conferences here/there. Even if you leave Nigeria, don't fool yourself, their societies are not designed for you to thrive to the level of the natives. But if you just want to live your life as a normal 9-5 guy with no big dreams beyond your own selfish ambition (house, car, personal comfort, etc,) then you will be fine. You just have to learn and get use to "kissing" asses. |
AfroKnight:Young man or woman. Good you dont even have a clue on the individual behind this post. Our kind have seen it all. We've been there before. And we are on the other sides as well. Most of you dont have a clue beyond what is going on in the news. Its day to day survival. It's quite understandable to feel that way. So leave as fast as you can. Experience is the best teacher. |
sulaak:Apparently you read the history books of your masters. Please read wide. I know they dont teach history anymore in Nigeria. Slavery was promoted by all sides but the main beneficiaries were mainland South and North America. Your relatives that partook are just like present day hustlers we have in Nigeria who will hand-over their country to foreign owners, like the PID $9 dollar case. Your country is your country. Those with cut and run attitude do not have the right to exist. Its their kind that indulge in all kinds of illegal things in foreign countries. |
Rubicon67:This is not about "living in the past". Nigerians don't have a clue on history. Don't let us fool ourselves. And you said "The lesson we can learn from that is not to let our mind, intellect and self dignity to be enslaved". But is that not already happening. Almost all our women use Brazilian hair, some bleach their skin. Worst part is they cannot even produce these things thus making the Asian producers rich. |
Rubicon67:It's not about being a pessimist. Nigerians need to have a world view. We have a lot of illiterate people and too many literate but uneducated ones. Our people need to understand the way the world work and that you don't run away from problems. You face it and deal with it. That's the only way to be in control of your destiny and narratives. |
babaolofin:These are landlocked countries and amount of smuggled goods that enter Nigeria from those points are much less than from Benin Republic. They dont have ports to bring in rice that will end up in Nigeria. And it doesn't make economic sense to transport smuggled goods from Benin to Chad/Niger and then into Nigeria. Please lets argue with sense and not with sentiments or ethnicity. |
AfroKnight:And down the road they become oppressed just like any African-American and Black Briton. Maybe the first generation may pick some of your culture but from the second generation down they will be no different from African-Americans or blacks in Europe who are daily sent to prisons for minor crimes compared to white, some even killed in their home by white cops. And if their population get too much, their "master" could choose to obliterate some of them systematically from the face of the earth. You all do not know you are under continuous attack in Africa and elsewhere you choose to run. As your master perfectly describe you, most of you only have the power of the Now but not the vision of the future. You are virtually owned because your narratives is in the hands of your master. |
Brainless people. While you all suppose to be crying for yourselves. Running to the countries of the same people who took some of your ancestors as slaves, raped and virtually obliterated your cultures and religions, and turned your personality in and out to the point of self-hate. Dont get me wrong. I have 2 passports and a means to get the third one but to me it's not something to celebrate. Nigerians are surely different beings. Reasons heartless politicians "Bleep" the people right, left, and center because most don't stand or believe in anything. Almost a perfect fit to the description of Lugard. |
tiredoflife:What right do you have to exist on the face of this earth if you cannot grow your own food, in a land without snow or ice and with sunlight 365-days a year. Or you are benefiting to the import of food. Do I see greed? |
Of course, that's the whole idea as this will encourage local food production. If Nigerians do not take advantage of this then they have themselves to blame. |
SchoolNaScam001:But how come we can't fix our country? Abi does that defy our brilliance? |
The responses I am seeing here makes me think most Nigerians think less of themselves than they really are. So, what if he wants to coach Chelsea in the future? Are those who did that previously superhuman?. In fact they are not human to your level but you have lost so much to the point that you let other races define you. I believe Nigerians are the most mentally bleeped up set of Africans. |
Sad that all private role models he mentioned are whites. Not even Dangote made his list. Or did I miss that? What are we feeding into the heads of our children. |
b0rn2fuck:First you need to understand what a university as an institution of higher learning represents. First is academic independence. You can't take that away from professors or lecturers. They set the content of the course and do the marking. But in return you give some power to the students to be able to give anonymous assessment of the lecturer performance. |
b0rn2fuck:Something as simple allowing students to evaluate their lecturers anonymously will solve the problem. In the US and Canada students are given a form to evaluate their lecturers anonymously. With this, the pressure is on the lecturer to perform and help student to succeed. That's the way it should be. Instead in Nigeria, lecturers take pride in failing their students or making life difficult for them. What crazy mentality is that. |
Advantage of being young. Not like all these old school "old soldiers" and politicians that can't compromise their stand or do things in a different way. This Ethiopian leader is classic. Once he went to Saudi Arabia (I think) and returned home in his presidential aircraft with all Ethiopian citizens held in prisons for one lame reasons or another. Just imagine a state governor or president do this in Nigeria. He/she will rather chatter a separate plane to lift them even though there is space available in the state aircraft. Wicked souls. |

Before you comment, think about the strength of the material used for the wall. It's likely to be clay, which has good amount of density, and very compressible. We need material scientists or structural engineers to give comments on this. |
Which terrorism attack? It's likely a missile from the USA or Israel. |
realestniggah:Who told you that lightening cannot kill you in your room? Go online to do little research. You are more likely to be killed indirectly by lightening in your room under certain circumstances. Please use Google. We all learn something new every day. Here is what is shown online: "Lightning cannot directly strike you're inside your home. But the electricity produced by a lightning strike can travel through conductive surfaces such as wires and pipes within your house. If you happen to be touching one of theses wires or pipes (think landline telephone or shower) you can be electrocuted.May 20, 2005" |
20% share only from what actually belong to you. Daylight robbery. |
Not that I a fan of Buhari but if you believe that "Nigeria is now the poverty capital of the world" story that mean you are brainless and can't reason. How can Nigeria with a population of just about 200 million have more poor people than India that has a population of 1.3 billion. Go to india and see the meaning of poverty. If you dont know how western powers work against african presidents that refuse to buy their useless economic advise. Once Buhari refused their advise to devalue the Naira they have to go against him. It's all lies. Have you heard of western economic mercenaries before? What did we gain from their Structural Adjustment and previous Devaluation? |
Ibfpleasant:Someone talk say na part of a drama act ... |
All these stupid things our people do in the name of modernity, which they borrow from European. Do we even know the origin and history of all these borrowed cultures. Like kneeling down to "beg" a woman to marry. Also someone should tell me the meaning of the ring couple exchange or the one men give women during marriage proposal. Most of European history is enmeshed in paganism. We are just a collection of blind people being led to the gallow. For example all the names of the week you utter (Monday, Tuesday, ...Saturday, etc) are names of pagan gods worshipped in the past by Europeans. |
VAQAXY:What about China? They own significant fraction of America debt. They could squeeze US balls if they want. At least you see how the trade war is going. |
VAQAXY:Not so fast. Everything will fall apart for them once other countries start adopting a different currency instead of the dollar. It has already started gradually. |
Daviddson:Is this good or bad? In my opinion it is bad. No country should have that level of influence. It mean another country could be brought to its knees even if their action was right but at the detriment of another country like USA. That's why south Africa is dragging its feet on the issue of taking over lands stolen by white people during apartheid era. That's the mistake of adopting western system of economy. |
Blue3k:It's actually not about the age of consent because he did not break the law in that respect. The age of consent in Lagos is 17yrs. Issues is he was soliciting sex or intimacy from a female student in return for favour. It's an ethics issue. He can't be charged for rape in this case. Bad news for him if previous victims come out to claim rape but he could challenge their claim because he could say it's a mutual "sex for marks" agreement. Except if there is law that specifically states that a university lecturer must not engage in any form.of intimacy or sexual contact with students. His dismissal from.Unilag and his church is mainly an ethics and morality issue. |
