It's a very simple thing. Go straight to the point and tell him you have a mandate in school which is to come out with good result. Tell him you don't wanna anybody because of distractions, that you guys can only be just ordinary friends. You like his truthfulness.

The OP just nailed it. When I got my first job at Onitsha this year, I didn't just bother about what was contained in the employment letter, I understood everything quite alright but because of the excitement I overlooked it. And when I resumed work, from the first day through my observation that this place was an unhealthy system,what was inside the letter was not what I was doing, Gossip/amebo everywhere, you resume 7am and close 8 -9pm, you work for like 30-40 days before they pay you salary. I left after some months, and not quite long, most of my colleagues that we were recruited together left too.
So be careful and always do your investigation properly..
Job that will not give you time to rest or think of your future is a dangerous work. Since then i've gotten like 3 jobs and the one i'm doing now is okay and far better.

The problem we have with ourselves is failure to research. I see no reason why somebody will spend 6.8 million naira just to get masters and on his return to naija, he becomes hopeless.
Before we do anything, we need to research these countries, their economy and job availability.
Why should I go to UK and do my masters, when the law says on completion you must return back to ur country. Almost all countries in Europe are bullshit apart from Germany, Netherland, switzerland that have good policies favoring foreigners. Apart from that I will always tell people to always focus on Canada and US where you are entitled to Post Graduate work permit after your education and you can look for job and then apply for PR.
The OP is right, employers love to have those with foreign experience in their establishment. The course we study matters a lot too.
I didn't study abroad but was opportune to have worked in one of the biggest companies in the world situated in South-east Asia just for few time.
And since I came back, I have gotten like 4 offers. And i'm seriously looking for money and gathering it bit by bit to to move out of this country.
The pay outside the country is far higher than those working in chevron here. It is something that I have witnessed. Employers in Nigeria always underpay you no matter what.
If you have money to study outside the country, consider US, Canada, Germany, South Korea, China,Netherland, and Japan.

Yeah good news, same with me...since January to now, i've gotten like 4 jobs and this last one finally entered what I studied " Industrial Safety Technology". So I'm currently practicing as an HSE Supervisor.
I have never complained of the economy even when others are company, I always try to see beyond and be positive. I do intensify my search online, sometimes i'd wake up around 2am and start scouting the net.
Now i'm looking beyond the shores for foreign offers too because I have my NEBOSH.
With God's help, I will keep applying even though i've not been picked.
Never give up, believe in God, intensify your job search, network very well, get professional certifications, join professional group on whatsapp, facebook, linkedin, telegram and be hopeful and happy

You should know a guy to spend on. Aside from merely promising you love or marriage isshh.. your few time and discussions with him should know what kind of man he is. Try and know his FUTURISTIC PLANS. Even when he is broke, he should be able to come up with ideas, what he intends to do if he stumbles into cash. If he is not a graduate, does he have plans to go to school, and if he is a graduate and no job yet, what efforts is it putting into getting a job. Can he do minute jobs? Does he have pride that would prevent him from doing minute job? Does he complain too much of cash problem?
From all these, you can now have a conviction on the type of man he is. Let your reason guide you before love.
And even in a strong relationship, you can also do little spending. Surprise him with gifts and outing. let assume they invited A and B for the aptitude test, C who was not invited gate crashed into the venue and passed the aptitude test, he will deprive those that actually applied the chances of getting into the company.

please don't disclose the venue of the company, the more you do it, the more you increase the probability of gate crashers and the more you increase competition and lower your chances of getting the job, that's the hard truth.

most people that gate crash into companies have very good results, mostly 2.1.
They are very intelligent and smart, if you give them chance, they will smuggle themselves in and write the exam and pass very well which will increase the marking scheme and the company will chose them and leave you because you probably because you scored low in the exam, and you will continue complaining of joblessness in the forum.

And most of these gate crashers don't ever disclose the venue of those that legitimately invited them, they will write that one and still go and gate crash in other places.
