Angry Nigerians on Twitter in reaction to killing of their fellow countrymen in xenophobic attacks launched by South Africans have vowed to boycott MTN, Shoprite, Stanbic, DSTV and other businesses in Nigeria owned by South Africans.

Recall Igbere TV reported earlier that properties includings cars which belong to Nigerians in the country, was set on fire by South Africans. Shops belonging to Nigerians was also looted by South Africans as captured in a viral video.

President of the Nigeria Union South Africa, Adetola Olubajo, had said that recent attacks began on Sunday morning in Jeppestown area of Johannesburg.

Mr Olubajo said in a statement on Monday that the mob “looted several shops that were around the vicinity suspected to be owned by foreign nationals.”

Reacting to the development, Nigerians have urged each other to take action against South Africans.

Minister of Power, Saleh Mamman Begs Nigerians To Pray For Him To Succeed In His New Role

The newly-appointed Minister of Power, Saleh Mamman, has asked Nigerians to pray for him to succeed in his new role.

Mamman was announced as the new Power Minister when President Muhammadu Buhari inaugurated his second term cabinet in Abuja on Wednesday, August 21, 2019.

While speaking later during a reception organised in his honour by a committee of friends, the minister asked Nigerians to pray for him.

"What I need from Nigerians at this time is prayers. I have just been appointed Minister of Power, so I have nothing much to talk about or say than for Nigerians to pray for me to succeed," he said.

Mamman's assignment came as a surprise to some as the ministry was previously under the stewardship of former Lagos governor, Babatunde Fashola, who was reappointed and also sworn in for another stint in Buhari's cabinet on Wednesday.

Fashola was the Minister of Power, Works and Housing during Buhari's first term between 2015 and 2019. However, he returns only as the Minister of Works and Housing.

The Power Ministry holds a lot of political implications as the country has failed for decades to adequately supply electricity to its estimated population of 200 million people.

While the Buhari-led government has identified improving power supply as a key to improving economic growth, growth in the power industry has been sluggish with many parts of the country still deprived.

While delivering his remarks on Wednesday, Buhari urged the new ministers to work tirelessly for Nigerians to achieve a future where they can reach their full potential.

Christianity in Nigeria and Africa is beginning to come under heavy attack, not just from people who are ungodly and most times closet Satanists, but from celebrities. They claim the reason why Africa is backward is because of religion. There are so many religions in Africa, but the one they are truly specific about is Christianity.

These people don't complain when other religions engage in mass murder for their god, nor when some of them demand human sacrifice by killing innocent passerbys in the middle of the night all in the name of a festival. But when people gather in a church to worship God, they get angry and claim that is the reason why Africa lacks steady electricity, food, technological development and is suffering from poverty.

When these people call for religion to be eradicated from Africa, what they actually want is for Christianity to leave. It is only Christianity that defines what religion is, and that annoys them because it speaks against their worldly ways.

As seen above, the religion God accepts is the one in which a person is encouraged to:

The above points in the definition of religion are an embodiment of Christianity. When these people say religion should be eradicated from Africa because they think it is mental slavery, what they actually want is for the fatherless and widows to suffer. But you say "celebrities do give gifts to orphans". Yes and that's because they upload the act on social media just to earn your praise and make you see them as good, whereas they are not. These celebrities and ungodly people hate Christianity because the book by the religion contains words that judge them. The Bible exposes their wicked ways. They want to live however they like without anybody questioning them. They are angry that the light through Christianity has come to Africa. The above are the words of Jesus. The words judge evildoers, which means that they definitely hate Jesus as well. It's words like this that made the evildoers back then to kill Jesus. They couldn't stomach how he was exposing their evil heart. Those evildoers back then have their descendants today continuing from where their ancestors stopped. We are glad Jesus is risen and his word will never die.

The second point in the definition of religion says we should keep ourselves unspotted from the world. It simply means our ways should be different from the way the world does its own. It also means we shouldn't love the world. But these atheists, celebrities and evil people are always in comformation with the world. From the way they attack religion to their flamboyant show off on Instagram, we get to know that they love the world. This means they don't have the love of the father in them. They hate God.

Despite them loving the world so much, you will never see them speak up against things positioned to destroy it. As long as those things are against Bible teachings, they will welcome them e.g homosexuality.

2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

The people who say Africa is backward because of the religion white men brought to the continent don't even know how foolish they sound. They say the Bible which the white man brought to Africa is the reason the continent is backward. How come the cars, phones, television, refrigerator etc all brought by the same white men are not making Africa backward? If we must throw the Bible away, then we must throw away all those other things the whites brought to our continent.

Some people even believe Africans who serve God fervently are not really doing so because their continent is not rich like China, an ungodly nation. Look, the Bible already stated that we should stay away from such people who think being rich means you are serving God, who think gain is godliness.

5 Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.

Being rich is not a sign that you are serving God. Don't be all about wealth and riches. As long as you have clothes and food to eat, that should be enough. Why try to gain the world when you brought nothing into it and will take nothing out?

7 For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.
8 And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.

Do you know what will happen to those who are chasing after riches? They will do so many foolish things. This explains why Western Nations are encouraging homosexuality, abortion etc. This also explains why celebrities fall into depression all the time.

9 But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.

These evil people want Christians in Africa to chase after wealth because they know it will make us err from the Christian faith. That is why they keep ringing it in our ears that Africa is backward because of religion.

But as a Christian, you should run away from such people. Run away from the love of money and the love for the world. Follow after righteousness.

Christianity is not the one looting money at Federal Government and State level. Christianity is not the one embezzling money released for educational and technologcial development. Stop saying we should dump it. Blame your leaders, not Christianity.

I am a very sincere and open person and so I told my bf about my friendship with Friend two. I usually share screenshots of my conversations with Friend two with my bf. I did not hide any thing from him because I had no intentions to cheat. I was very transparent.

Little did I know that my bf on the other hand was also busy sharing everything that has transpired between us including very sensitive information like our sexual styles, the state of my vagina and even my financial status with his friend.

My bf told friend two to stop the game and leave me alone. Friend two refused. According to him, he realised I was not the slut my boyfriend painted me to be and thought I will be a great catch for a girlfriend.

To discourage him, my bf started slandering me to him.He even went to the extent of telling his friend that

My bf was then forced to confess what he had done but told me not to let his friend know he has told me.

I kept chatting and receiving calls from friend two without revealing to him that I knew what he was up to.

After 3 days, I decided to let friend two know that my bf told me about their game. He was shocked and started opening up all my bf told him about me.

He told me my bf never really loved me and that he was with me because he didn't have to spend. I didn't ask him for money and even when I come to visit, I don't ask for tp.

Friend two also told me that my bf said I will be useful in his plans to relocate to Canada as he will convince me he wants us to marry, and that I should support him relocate first and then later when he is stable he will come back to Nigeria so we can wed and then he can bring me over. Meanwhile his actual plan is to relocate to Canada and marry a white girl for citizenship. I would never have suspected this could be my bf plans because he works in an averagely good place where he earns averagely well.

Friend two then advised me never to reveal my financial status to any man and to be selfish when I love. He said he still genuinely wants to date me and that he is sorry.

I am not stupid though. Friend 2 and my bf are idiots. I cannot date any one of them. I have blocked both of them.

This experience has shattered me though. I will never ever trust any man again even the man I marry. I used to believe in the idea of shared finances in marriage but not anymore. No managing with any man.

Men are scum. Love is a scam. The so called bf is a nairalander and I know he makes sensible comments here to deceive innocent girls who don't actually know he is a fool and a scammer.

Former President Goodluck Jonathan on Thursday gave reasons why he could not implement the report of the 2014 national conference before vacating office On May 29 20115

He also said Nigeria would have made significant progress if President Muhammadu Buhari had implemented a part of the reports of the conference.

Jonathan, who spoke at the launching and presentation of the Memoirs of Senator Femi Okurounmu at the University of Lagos titled ‘The Dream’ , said that the report was handed over to him on 21 August 2014, at a time members of the National Assembly were busy running around for re-election.
While noting the role played by Okurounmu at the conference, Jonathan, who was the chairman of the occasion, said the conference was conveyed in accordance with the yearnings of Nigerians for dialogue to reconcile ethnic differences.

He said all the issues were discussed as he gave them the freedom to discuss all and that the recommendations were far-reaching in setting an agenda for today and tomorrow.

According to the former president, the conference took out politics and that the recommendations would have taken Nigeria out of the woods.
