If you have the same belief and doctrine then you are welcome as a Catholic, if you know what I mean.

We are all christians, thats the most important thing. If I never see you on earth, I'd love to meet you in heaven. By then we would all know 'whats hot and whats not'. But for now, remember Jesus said that it is by our love for each other that others will know that we are His disciples.

Men I feel you.

They are necessary on one hand. It is not everyone that challenges another religion or denomination that does so out of hatred or in an attempt to convert the others. For some, its a genuine desire to know. Moreover for others, its a genuine desire to know not just for knowledge's sake but to see the 'sense' behind what others are doing. It is important to see things from the other person's point of view. Then if it sounds 'incorrect' to you, you are further strengthened in what you stand for. Otherwise, you see the 'sense' behind it and switch sides.

There will always be differentiating religious beliefs. But we must learn to tolerate each other. Just because I (personally) wholeheartedly disagree with anything that is not in my bible is not a license to be hateful to the other person. Disagreements will always prompt discussions that challenge each other's beliefs and convictions. But what I've discovered is that because of the ubiquitous and natural tendency of man to always do wrong, every challenge is seen by the other party as being borne out of hatred; and the natural response is to fight back. Its understandable, especially when one has been brought up and 'brain-washed' into a belief system and someone around the corner thinks otherwise. But that does not mean the challenger is being intolerant.

As to trying to convert the other person, I will adress my christian brothers and sisters. You will notice that more often than not people were addedd to the church of God after a spectacular demonstration of God's power. You cannot convert someone by attacking them, it has never worked and it WILL NEVER work. Say your own and allow the Holy Spirit to do the conviction. If truly you were the vessel responsible for bringing that person to Christ, when you finally stand before God on judgement day God will judge them, not you.

There is nothing strange and ridiculous about this. Notice that I even looked at the church as a whole (pastors/priests ). So it's 'they', not 'you' that are giving allkinds of 'responses' to your churches, understand?

Catholics believe that Peter is 'the rock' on which Christ built the church and they are correct from scripture. Hence, the theory of Apostolic succession which I suppose means that Peter was the first pope and the authority of the church of Christ on earth is exclusive to only those that are ordained by this same successive authority. This is also (probably) the reason to their reference to the Pope as the 'vicar of Christ on earth'.

It is for this reason that many Catholics do not approve of and recognise the spiritul authority of 'self-ordained' M/WOGod outside the Catholic Church. Thats not to say that I am naive enough to think that all of them are truly from God.

On the other hand, Paul was not an apostle. He was a politician and a murderer before God sovreignly, supernaturally and spectularly arrested Him and made Him a spiritual authority over the various churches at Corinth, Ephesus, Thessalonica, etc. Question is: why then does some section of the Catholic church outrightly condemn it's other brothers and sisters that are not in their denomination, particularly Pastors and Reverends?

My experiece in the religion section has been crazy. I've been introduced to all kinds of other doctrines that I didnt know before.
I've met those who 'hero-worship' and those who 'worship false heroes' and those who worship nobody, like Seun. I've learnt to live and let live.
I've learnt to embrace my catholic brothers and sisters and appreciate their dedication, staunchness and togetherness even though I eternally whole-heartedly disagree with their doctrines.
I've come to see that some 'Great Ones' are more aggresive than I thought; poor Seun even had to take cover.
I've learnt religious tolerance.
I've learnt inter-denominational tolerance.
I've learnt that I am very intelligent, as young as I am.

Nairaland changed my life, but not very dramatically.

I'd advise Seun to ADVERTISE more because this site is not as popular as I thought.

I am not deflecting anything or hiding anywhere or trying to start an argument. I just do not see how the verse connects with or relates to this thread. If it does maybe Huxley can do us a favor and expatiate.

Regarding the exodus vers, this is what it says:
"Anyone who curses his father or mother must be put to death.

It's a law of God under the old covenant. It does not apply today because we are under the new covenant. If you disagree with this youre on your own because I ain't getin into no useless argument with no moouslim. Because at the end of all the typing and rambling we still would not agree with each other.
