skyp: please can someone explain to me the meaning of Shiite, is my first time hearing itShiite (shia) muslim is a sect that sprang out of Islam immediately after the death of the Prophet. They believe that the successor should always come out of the Prophet's family. (most shia muslims are found in iraq and iran). The other sect is the sunni muslim (85% of muslims worldwide). They believe in choosing the most qualified as their leader. The difference between the two sects is lies in their political ideaologies. 1 Like |

Nigerians should vote the best candidate irrespective of tribe, religion or sentiments, for the sake of their children's future. GEJ capitalised on the people's sentiments, and look at where we've found ourselves. Corruption in government has reached an unbelievable height. Failed promises. I would subscribe to a two-party system and not the tribal parties we call political parties. 3 Likes |

ckkris: Most of these Nairaland warriors are not based in Nigeria. They write technically like uninvolved European visitors, with near accurate scientific observation of what they see among Africans, but with very little insight into HOW underlying cultural dynamics sustain these conditions.. Kobo j writes like a woman that holds a secure $60k pensionable job for Uncle Sam. Shimmex et al enjoy steady electricity in Europe. They just can't understand, even as they obviously love to. Can ShopKeeper come out and join protests, where the Security Forces are very likely to kill, as they did carelessly at Ikeja and Ilorin, fully convinced that nothing will happen. Can you speak in English, please? |

nigexport:I'll be so happy if you can preach this to those Islamic extremist who believe to slaughter a non-muslim is to do the pious will of Allah. Don't blame the non muslims for quoting the Quoran out of context, blame the islamic extremists for acting the Quoran out of context. The Arab world are most guilty of these. I guess its high time you preach islam back to the extremists, and non muslims would understand your angle of interpreting the Quoran. 1 Like |

crackhouse: Maybe he want to divide Nigeria into North and south.I don't know why people failed to see this part. Anyway, i wouldn't blame them but our leaders who are so corrupt in all ramifications. That's why everyone tends to focus on the corrupt part of their gathering. But actually, GEJ is drumming up a North- South support. A 'we against them' thing. |
Politics / Re: GEJ Consults With Tinubu, Fashola, Akiolu Behind Closed Doors by Aladinn(m): 4:01pm On Apr 30, 2012 |
alj harem:What you've failed to notice is the tribal cards GEJ wants to play with the Northern elites (PDP) in this matter. GEJ is SS and SE combined. Wooing the SW into an alliance against the region (North) that alway see itself as 'BORN TO RULE' would amass wide support against GEJ. Mind you, the SW has always been at the forefront for the Sovereign Nationa Conference. It transcends what you're thinking. |
Politics / Re: GEJ Consults With Tinubu, Fashola, Akiolu Behind Closed Doors by Aladinn(m): 3:49pm On Apr 30, 2012 |
PapaBrowne: Only fools would assume that in 2012 Jonathan would be meeting Tinubu and Fashola over 2015 elections. This is a ridiculous report.Brilliant analysis. BH has already intensify its bomb campaign. Check out the numbers of bomb explosions in the past two days. Boko Haram is ending by June, so says, GEJ. He might be moving towards that by amassing support outside PDP. It's a matter of National security or continued National sovereignity. |

maasoap: It is either you're deluded just like the perpetrators of this act or you lack knowledge. Mohammed didn't send anybody or group to kill just like Jesus didn't send Anders Breivik to kill. Stop making error of generalization because this statement of yours clearly shows that I'm better as a Muslim than you as a ....................Bro, you're getting wrong. The Anders Breivik that killed innocent people at the park, did so because he didnt want the spread of islam in his country, Norway. Is it not the same Norway that is prosecuting Breivik? Why is Norway not saying Islamic extremist bombed european tourists in Egypt, and as such, shield Breivik from prosecution? Osama was shielded in pakistan, why? Though, i won't subscribe to generalisations, but you also shouldnt be callous to the human feelings that becomes emotional when hurt. That the 21st Century bombings seem to be coming from one particular religion out of the over 25 major religions of the world begs for sentiments, and most times, generalisation. I believe its the work of the good muslims to FIGHT the evil ones among them, and not point accusatory fingers elsewhere. |

jamil!:I really had to strain my thoughts before i could read through your post. It was energy understanding you. Bad post. Nonetheless, why is the north not crying out loud against the activities of boko haram, if it's not actually abetting the crime with its silence? You're also part of the nothern problem. Is PDP not in the south? Why are there no bombings there? It's better you go back to your suya spot and wait for your own call to strap bomb on yourself. 6 Likes |

The continued silence of the Northern elites over the endless killings by boko haram would soon result in reprisal attacks in other parts of the country. Families in Southern Nigeria continually grieve over the loss of their loved ones in Northern Nigeria, and the northern elites pretend as if nothing is wrong. Anarchy looms, and the north would regret its silence. My heart goes to the grieving families. It's really a sad loss. |

ziccoit:what about the blind jewish poet that launched verbal scathing attacks on the Prophet, yet was murdered in the night. Mind you, the prophet didnt send the killer, but when the Prophet got to know about it, he didnt condemn the killer but set out words of praise for him. That was the origin of islamic terrorism. Have you ever wonder any insult on the Prophet is issue with a death sentence. Am at work, would get the verse in the hadith out, wen i return. You might be more muslim than i am, but i doubt if you know about the spread of islam into Europe and Africa than i. i dont belong to any religion but am spiritual. You dont need to defend any religion, religion should be able to defend itself. This aggression of a thing is a middle east culture, that some over zealous guys took up. Even Elieazar, the son of Eli, was promised the lineage of priesthood in Judaism because he killed for God. Am not against anyone practising any religion but am against bloodbath in the name of religion. Would you question me again about the verse in the Quoran that urged muslim never to take xtians and jews as friends? Thats wat boko and other extremist follows. And there's another part in the Quoran that urge muslims to coexist peacefuly with xtians and jew, which i believe is what you follow. Bro, let reason together. Let us cast aside our sentiments, and we'll all know that Love of man transcends any religious ethics. Would love to be your friend. Lets share mails and knowledge. History is there to guide us. |
Politics / Re: Why Boko Haram Attacked ThisDay by Aladinn(m): 1:03pm On Apr 27, 2012 |
Every insult to the Prophet was met with death throughout the hadith. The prophet never condemned the action, so over zealous muslims now see it as a pious act. Why can't Allah just strike people who insult the Prophet with leprosy or insanity, instead of man avenging the Prophet? Just my curios question. 2 Likes |

Stealthy: Chelsea beat us fair and square. They were the better team over two legs, because football is as much about defending as it is attacking or passing (in our case). We scored only 2 goals and conceded 3 goals. We cannot begin to claim to have been the better team, whether Chelsea parked the bus or not. |

I tink david villa is being missed here. Imagine villa, messi and sanchez upfront. And the quartet of cesc, xavi, ini and busquet in midfield wuld have grinded out victory. This is football, you win some, lose some. Barca was graceful in defeat. |

Corruption is a culture in Nigeria. It's a necessary VIRTUE needed to be a leader. The brutal your criminality, the louder your leadership would be extolled. 1 Like |
