Before you all jump to conclusions. All the picture shows is some "policemen" placing a corpse in a truck. It doesn't prove that they killed the person. The second picture shows a corpse lying on the highway (might even have been knocked down by a vehicle; for all we know). The bystanders inn the picture do not look agitated. Is that likely if he was just shot by the police?
I do know that the police often take away corpses from the roadside and convey them to hospital morgues. This might be the case here.

More information is needed before we can conclude anything.

Sir,
you conflate origins with history. The Kwararafa Confederacy consisted of the tribes you listed. It doesn't mean they all came from the same origins. What tied them together was that they were under the suzerainty of the Jukun and looked to the Aku Uka for legitimacy as well as modelling their kingships after the Priest-King-Father role of the Aku Uka.

This particular politician was bathing with blood. This politician asked him; what did you see? The politician warned his chauffeur not to reveal the secret to anybody. This chauffeur died after sometime.
Let us be frank now, majority of our leaders are deep into the occult, some of them have gone too far with the devil. Why? They want to be in that position by all means. They will sacrifice anything just to get to that position. There are chronic herbalists that will do JUJU for them, so that they can acheive their heart desire.
You see, it will be difficult to understand all these mysteries, it will take, a great spiritual insight to understand what some politicians have done to get to their present position. It will take the grace of God and the mercy of God for such leader to affect his generation for good. God bless you. God2man.

@OP: Would Jesus have mobilized people to go out on the streets to protest Government policies? I think not. In any case, matters of fuel subsidies must be considered "things of this world." The removal of fuel subsidy is really inconsequential, especially when seen against this:

MEMBERS of the Boko Haram sect, on Wednesday evening, killed two members of a family; an 80-year-old man, Usman Durkwa and his 40-year-old son, Musa Durkwa

A source in the family told the Nigerian Tribune that, “we are Christians and their children have been telling our wards that some day, they are going to slaughter all of us.

According to Christians who spoke to the Nigerian Tribune, they heard that Boko Haram was planning massive destruction of lives and properties in places of worship, as well as security offices across some states, but that no amount of threat by any group in whatever name would make them abandon their faith or flee.

“It is God that gives life and it is only God that can take life; even the Muslims know this. This is not the first time Christians are being persecuted. In fact, persecution is part of Christian living, because even Christ was persecuted, as such let it be clear to the Boko Haram that we are not deterred, when they raise the arms of men to fight us because of our belief.

“The plan to destroy Christianity did not begin in Borno, Damaturu or anywhere they are thinking. Yet Christianity has flourished many years before Islam when much persecution was done to the Christians of the old time; we are confident in our belief and God will fight our battles,” Yonnana Manzo told the Nigerian Tribune.

I am 100% in support of the government on this one. This two links below articulate the reasons why I am for it. The fuel subsidy is a black hole of corruption. A significant amount of the corruption in Nigeria is Oil-industry related. The real struggle should be about forcing government to be more open and transparent and to tackle corruption headlong. If you want to "Occupy" Nigeria for that, count me in but if it is to sustain the murky corruption-infested regime of petrol subsidy. No way.

Whatever. Both you and the OP should refund whatever money was spent educating you. Does the press release he's trying to spin show that South Africa Reduces Price Of Petrol For 2012

Obviously the fuel subsidy arguments are way above your comprehension hence you do not understand that whatever funds (borrowed or otherwise) that would have been used to subsidize your petrol habit will instead go to funding education etc. And do you see the word "savings" any where in my post? PoliticsRe: South Africa Reduces Price Of Petrol For 2012 by aletheia(m): 2:16pm On Jan 04, 2012
@OP:
You post something that actually supports deregulation of the downstream sector of the petroleum industry as Government now seeks to do. To my knowledge there are no petrol subsidies in place in South Africa. . .so prices go up and come down with international market prices. A point which you missed:
deking:
During the period under review, the average international product prices of Petrol, Diesel and Illuminating Paraffin decreased.

The average Rand/US Dollar exchange rate weakened when compared to the previous period. The average Rand/US Dollar exchange rate for the period 2 December 2011 to 28 December 2011 was 8.2122 compared to 8.1398 during the previous period. The deterioration of the Rand against the US Dollar increased the contribution to the Basic Fuels Price on petrol, diesel and illuminating paraffin by 5.31 c/l, 5.95 c/l and 5.84 c/l respectively.
This portion of your post is exactly what PPPRA has done:
deking:
The Single Maximum National Retail Price for Illuminating Paraffin for the period 4 January 2012 to 31 January 2012 will be 1 033.0c/l compared to 1 064.0 c/l for the period 7 December 2011 to 3 January 2012, that is a decrease of 33.00 c/l.

The maximum refinery gate price for LPgas will be R 7 857.60 per metric ton (436.09 c/l), excluding VAT, for the period 4 January 2012 to 31 January 2012.
^The bolded portion above parallels:
Service providers in the sector are now to procure products and sell same in accordance with the indicative benchmark price to be published forthnightly and posted on the PPPRA website

So all that your post proves is that prices of petrol fluctuate up and down in South Africa according to the prices in the international market and the extant exchange rate. . .and that for the period from 4 January to 31 January, it will be a few cents less than for the preceding period of 7 December 2011 to 3 January 2011. Please explain how 4 January to 31 January became "South Africa Reduces Price Of Petrol For 2012"?

In future, now that the subsidy has been removed and the market deregulated, feel free to revisit this post and add that "Nigeria reduces price of petrol". By then it is hoped that funds freed up by the deregulation will have subsidized your education so that you will be able to read and understand a simple press release!

Another View: Removal of Subsidy is good for Nigeria

Written by Ben Oguntuase
Tuesday, 03 January 2012 14:47
There are three levels of high fraud that the removal of subsidy will tackle. The first is fraudulent payment on phoney import of PMS. The product is fraudulently certified as imported into Nigeria but is actually diverted to other countries in West Africa. Meanwhile, the documentation is perfected by criminal elements in Customs, Directorate of Petroleum Resources (DPR), Pipeline and Products Marketing Company (PPMC)
and Petroleum Products Pricing and Regulatory Agency (PPPRA). They not only collect the subsidy (which actually is outright theft), they also connive to collect demurrage on product that really never entered the Nigerian market. The reality is that what we actually consume in Nigeria may not be up to half of what the records or statistics say we consume.

The second fraud is the Petroleum Equalisation Fund (PEF). PPMC used to have a network of pipelines and depots across the country. Supply envelopes were created around each depot in a way that ensured all parts of the country are covered. Each supply envelope is divided into zones. Actual transportation cost was calibrated according to zones within each supply envelope. The objective here was to ensure that products sell at the same price throughout each depot's supply envelope regardless of the distance of consumption from supply.

There was also Bridging, the system whereby products are moved by road across depots as may be permitted in what was meant to be exceptional cases such as when repair is being carried out on the pipeline or at a depot. Over time and driven by fraudulent intent, what was designed to augment became the routine practice. Products would be released from Atlas Cove in Lagos ostensibly for bridging to say Kano or Sokoto but would actulally be sold at nearby stations while the documentation is “perfected†and bridging allowance is paid.

The products were also meant to be sold at equal prices at all locations nationwide. When the refineries were working and the pipeline/depots were also functional, the products were pumped through pipelines from the refineries to the various depots from where they were picked for distribution within the supply envelope covered by each depot. In principle, the Eastern axis was meant to be supplied by the now obsolete Port Harcourt Refinery 1. The Northern axis was meant to be supplied by the now thoroughly cannibalized Kaduna Refinery. The Midwest and Middle Belt were meant to be supplied by the also obsolete Warri Refinery while the Western axis was meant to be supplied by products shipped to Atlas Cove from Port Harcourt Refinery 2. This refinery was also meant to export products to West African countries.

All marketers were given a price structure by PPMC which routinely (and frankly unprofessionally) decided the marketers' margin and overhead allowance, the transportation allowance and the dealers' margin. Such a terrible system it was! The standard Transportation allowance was decided based on what was required to move products from the depot to Zone 3 within the depot's supply envelope. Transporters moving products to Zones 1 and 2 are paid less than the standard allowance while the balance was meant to be paid into PEF by the marketer. Transporters moving products to Zones 4 to 9 are paid the additional cost of transportation from PEF. Most of the consumption in around each depot occurs in Zones 1 to 3, usually up to 70%. The fraud: sell all products within Zones 1, 2 and 3 but collect PEF allowance as if almost all products were sold in the outer zones. This has been on for a very long time.

We can imagine why all the various adjustments and maladjustments occurred over the years especially during the military era when the fraud was mostly perpetraded, actively promoted and culturally institutionalized by high ranking Generals and Administrators. We can also see why all refineries eventually had to be crippled and pipeline network/depots of PPMC had to be paralysed.

Two things would immediately result from the removal of subsidy. The first is that Nigeria would actually pay only for what is consumed in Nigeria. If PEF and Bridging are removed completely from the equation and this must be the case, prices nationwide can no longer be the same. Another derived benefit would be that refineries can actually be located in Nigeria now based more on economics than political consideration. High price high volume would attract investment and eventually lead to low price high volume. This is simple supply economics.

Efficiency within the marketing companies would improve, so would competitiveness. Of course, there may intially be some retrenchment within the industry and safety may be compromised as marketeres would try to improve on their profitability. Ultimately, the system would stabilise and Nigerians would be the better for it. Professionalism should result in higher profitability. All these is conditioned on total withdrawal of subsidy, complete elimination of bridging allowances and dissolution of PEF. If any of those mechanisms are retained in the system, then removal of subsidy would be a meaningless exercise, one in futility.

The most compelling moral imperative is for the administration of Dr. Jonathan to arrest and prosecute the fraudsters. If this happens, hostility to the subsidy removal would diminish significantly. Meanwhile, the cartel will fight back, and viciously too. They have the money and other resources to sponsor social unrest. We are already seeing their hands. How much moral courage would a perhaps repentant (very doubtful!) IBB have to criticise subsidy removal when it was under his regime that fraud in the industry actually became institutionalized?

No problem. You gave a 3-month timeline for a coup of sorts. We shall see.

Hope you will be man enough to admit that your projections were off when the hoped for coup d'etat does not materialize.

History. Your calculations are based on there being such a huge groundswell of popular opposition to the loss of fuel subsidy that it provides legitimate cover for an attempted putsch. Unfortunately for your theorizing: there will be no such mass protests; there will only be isolated protests in a few major urban centers like Lagos, Ibadan, Kano. . .and that is it.

You talk about history but forget that we have seen this scenario play out many times over with always the outcome that the increased fuel prices always stays.
You take no account of the psyche of the Nigerian middle-class. . .who are not ready to leave their comfort zones. As an example consider the behavior: PPPRA announces an end to subsidies and what do we see? Nigerians queuing up to buy fuel at the new prices of circa N140. That is not the behavior of people who can sustain a protest.

Please wait for your NLC-led General Strike to change the status quo.  grin

No one, after circa three months of suffering, for example will hate those who depose GEJ and immediately reinstate subsidy of N240 billion (the original approved NASS figure) limited to the original major marketers while the fraudulent "independent" marketers who swelled subsidy to N1.4 trillions are paraded in public with a clear establishment of how they actually scammed Nigeria, through round tripping, over-invoicing, redirecting locally refined oil back to Nigeria as "imported" fuel. All this done in collaboration with the NNPC  controlled by the Petroleum Minister and the Government of the day. since then,i read most verse contradicting orders in bible,i saw verses dat dat back islamic activities inside the bible eg(nehemiah 8:4 salat in bible,),(isaih 2:2 hajj in bible),(isaih 29:12 prophecy of muhammed)e.t.c
^
Story, story. A christian knows how to spell Isaiah.

movicy:
(nehemiah 8:4 salat in bible,)
^
Nonsense. Salat is simply the Arabic word for prayer. Every time I pray, whether at home or in Church, I am performing salat.

movicy:
(isaih 2:2 hajj in bible)
^
Typical Muslim tactic of looking for validation in the Bible. Verse 3 immediately shows that the place in question is Zion/Jerusalem. Or is Mecca the place of Haj now Jerusalem?

And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem. [Isa 2:3]

movicy:
(isaih 29:12 prophecy of muhammed)
^
And the verses preceding Isaiah 29:12 show exactly what it means:
For the LORD hath poured out upon you the spirit of deep sleep, and hath closed your eyes: the prophets and your rulers, the seers hath he covered. And the vision of all is become unto you as the words of a book that is sealed, which men deliver to one that is learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I cannot; for it is sealed: [Isa 29:10-11]

movicy:
,but i felt surprise that my pastor cant withstand my muslim friend when i introduce both, all wat my frnd is sayin is islam is d key 2 salvation and paradise, but my pastor cant claim dat when both r stil debating
^
Even the most ignorant pastor will still be able to claim that Jesus is the key to salvation if nothing else. Try harder Muslim.

movicy:
,i even read some documentory about miracles in islam e.g(rock in sujud position, tree in ruku found in australia, leaf form lailaila allah in berlin,germany,)e.t.c,
^
I dey laugh. You are betraying your roots. The average Christian divorced from Islam does not know what the terms bolded above mean and will not use them in routine conversation. I guess this is what you were offered as to why Islam is better by your Imams/Alfas. You forgot to include the fish that had "lailaila etc" on its side as well. These alleged miracles are dubious.

movicy:
biblical verse even said best way 2 worship our god is 2 bow down b4 thee, only muslim did dis,
^
I am yet to see these biblical verses that say the best way to worship is to bow down. . .please can you show me these verses?

movicy:
we xristian go church 2 sing dance and pray i av never read biblical verse dat support dis,am totally confused
^
Here are some verses. Help yourself to them. . .
Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; [Eph 5:19]
Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms. [Jas 5:13]

movicy:
cn sm1 help me,i dont want 2 go hell
am totally
^
Unless you repent and believe that Jesus is Lord and the Son of God
. . .well all Muslims are assured of entering Hell by Allah.
[quote author=Sura 19:70-72]And surely We are Best Aware of those most worthy to be burned therein. There is not one of you but shall approach it. That is a fixed ordinance of thy Lord. Then We shall rescue those who kept from evil, and leave the evil-doers crouching there. [/quote]

he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
