In any event, they are part of the SS and no amount whining will change that.
Who cares ? Why not face Bittyend rather than make claims that YOU know would attract others like me.

It is amazing that no one has answered or provided a link for their various claims. Maybe I should keep bring out articles of different SS groups saying they are not Igbos unless of course the Nairaland Igbos.

It is also amazing that Beaf and co are trying to baklized the SW like they did to the north. LOL but if they do the same, they would complain that ewu awusa and ofe mannu hates us.

afam4eva: You have a point there but you have to understand that when it comes to commerce, we're talking of Aba, Onitsha and Nnewi.
Bros Afam, if you go to any other dialect website, they would say the same thing and in your post it was clear they said they are yoruba so what is your point.

I have given you senarios that even today in Lagos, We Awori-Egun have a totally different dialect from other yorubas and infact we have BINI people are part of us.

I also give you and Beaf so literture the other day on Awori-egun and showed you how different their dialect is from Ogbomosho but Yes we are yoruba today.

Again it is clear most of you don't understand what being a yoruba means.

PoliticsObasanjo’s Resignation: What Next For PDP, Jonathan? by aljharem(op): 3:00pm On Apr 04, 2012
BY CLIFFORD NDUJIHE
ARGUABLY, former president and Chairman Board of Trustees (BOT) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, has a lot of ace up his political sleeves. He is full of suspense and strategy.

Twenty-four hours after leading a team of PDP top shots in the South-West geo-political zone to woo former Oyo State Governor, Senator Rasheed Ladoja back to the party, he threw in his towel yesterday as PDP BOT chair to “have a bit more time to devote to the international demand on me.” He was on the saddle for 58 months.

Since he returned to power on May 29,1999 as civilian head of state, 20 years after he voluntarily quit power as military ruler, Obasanjo has remained a major factor and power broker in the world’s largest black nation.

Though his eight-year reign as president was eventful, his alleged attempt to go for a third term that would have seen him leading the country for a cumulative 15 years smeared his record as a non-sit-tight leader in a continent characterised by sit-tight rulers.

Before bowing out on May 29, 2007, however, Obasanjo ensured that his party retained presidential power through late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua and Dr Goodluck Jonathan. He also paved the way for a post-president role for himself in the PDP. He got the party’s constitution amended to reserve the BOT slot for only former presidents and national chairmen. The BOT was also made the highest decision-making body of the party as contained in Section 12.76 of the party’s constitution.

Thus, Obasanjo had little or no hassles picking the top seat on June 27, 2007, less than a month after leaving Aso Rock. In a deft move, he had his predecessor, Chief Tony Anenih, pushed aside

As BOT chair, Anenih had fixed the meeting for 8pm, but the time was changed without his consent to 10 a.m and the meeting did not start until 12.30 p.m and ended at about 3 p.m. Obasanjo’s election at the Kano Hall of Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja, was the first time in PDP’s history that the board of trustees meeting would be held in the morning. Past gatherings had always been in the night. Though Anenih was absent at the meeting, his wife, Josephine Anenih was present at the meeting where the decision was taken to replace his husband.

With his emergence as chairman of the board, Obasanjo brought his influence to bear on the affairs of the party. When Yar’Adua became terminally ill about two years into his four year tenure, Obasanjo, who first visited the ailing president in a Saudi hospital returned to champion the crusade for Vice President Goodluck Jonathan to be sworn-in as acting president as Yar’Adua did not hand-over to him before traveling out.

The polity was intensely divided over the matter. Some power forces, especially from the North opposed the move fearing that it would hurt the region’s turn to produce the president. In the end, the National Assembly, employed the doctrine of necessity, to save the day and Jonathan was sworn-in as acting president.

On the road to the 2011 polls, the zoning matter rose again after Jonathan said he was running. The North insisted he should allow a northerner to emerge as PDP candidate and later as president to complete the turn of the North.

But backed by Obasanjo and other stakeholders, Jonathan won the PDP presidential ticket and went on to win the election proper after saying that he would do one term of four years.

Speaking on the issue during the campaigns following comments that zoning was dead in PDP, Obasanjo said that zoning of public offices in the party was “alive and kicking” noting that the accident of history that threw up President Goodluck Jonathan as the PDP presidential candidate must be understood.

Obasanjo however, said Jonathan should be commended for agreeing to do one term if elected in the April general elections, to assuage the bitterness of the pro-zoning elements, saying the president should be encouraged to stick to the vow.

The former president garnered for himself a host of enemies in the party, who as of September last year plotted to remove him as BOT chair. Indeed, plans to weaken the BOT and make it advisory in capacity were on before Obasanjo resigned yesterday.

With Obasanjo out as BOT chairman, the party and by extension President Jonathan may miss a veritable pillar of sorts ahead of future polls.

PoliticsRe: Pension Scam: I Made N82m Selling "Pure Water" - Mrs Veronica Ulonma Onyegbula by aljharem(m): 2:04pm On Apr 04, 2012
The problem in Nigeria is even though they see the wickedness in a person, they would support the person so long as it is from their ethnic group. Very sad by true

Now some people are still authoritatively telling us that one can make multimillion in pure water.

One of the most popular pure water I know (atleast in Lagos and Kano) is daily pure water. I happen to know the owner, The owner not make big millions every month. Yes their is money on the business but during the dry season they can make as high as 10 million naira and wet season they can make as low is 3 million naira.

Now claiming 82 million Naira is outrageous.

The wickedness is stealing old people pension is one of the most wicked thing a man can do to another man.

How can a 70 years old man that has served the nation for 50 years not get paid pension given that he has no saving and has been donating to his pension since he started 50 years ago ?

That is wicked and cruel.

WebmastersRe: Yoruba The Most Popular African Language On Wikipedia - Jimmy Wales Co-Founder by aljharem(m): 9:51am On Apr 04, 2012
Kingsleyinfo: you are a different type of fo.ol altogether... obviously wrapping ür head round anyhing not typed or spoken in yoruba is definetely a huge problem for u.
If u had any sort of analytical thinking skills u would have realised that I have consistently made one point, obviously u didn't read my previous post. and please o kindly point out where I said I expect them to speak in yoruba, or did u hear I quarreled with someone because he spoke yoruba to me? How can people be this biased and yet claim to be educated?
As for your example, here is one for you also. Assuming you as a yoruba man who doesn't understand English, wishes to travel to south Africa where english happens to be the official language, Would you rather learn English or Zulu? Or did it occur to u in anyway that most peeps out here understand English as well as yoruba? So when I ask to buy something with English from a market woman, and she replies in yoruba doesn't common sense requires that I find another seller who understands English? Of which there are many by the way. How can someone be using bodmas to give an example in Calculus, u sure say u even go school?
The basic principle of communication is to speak and be understood, not heared. So if myself and a certain yoruba fellow understands English, what stops us from conversing in same. And get this into your thick skull, I didn't say I expect, I said people expect me, and that statement wasn't made out of sentiments, it was made out of questions I have been asked by yoruba speeking peeps over my stay here. I have never asked any yoruba man why he likes speaking yoruba, so no damn fo.ol like yourself who reasons with his anus should ask me why I choose to converse in English.
Its a free world bro so go figure.

And as for that bigot with the brain of a fish and hands like that of a leper, I believe u know by now that u are a very stoo.pid fellow. and if ür type of reasoning is common to those who schooled abroad, then I would prefer Nigerian schools anyday....
Person wen dey call pesin half bake never know wether I'm go even enter oven talkless of to be quarter baked. Akpa.

now I am really seeing the reason why companies demand excellent communication skills from their prospective employees, its due to these two goats... Who think they are rams... Split personality indeed...lol
I wanted to leave this thread so the world can see your folly but I just one last thing to say.

I see where you are coming from so you are not the one to complain of communication skills here unless you mean something completely different from what you are saying.

You asked a question about some elements on this thread saying some outrageous statement and I agree with you on. Moreover why are you taking such statement serious ? That was why I said you displayed pure inferiority complex.

Secondly, you said you were talking to your friend and he asked you to learn the language in the environment you are living in right ? Is he not your friend ? If you were in Taraba or Anambra would he (your friend) still ask you to learn yoruba ? Yes or No ? Be honest with yourself.

Now I was telling you that your friend was simply looking out for you since you are severing in Ogun state and not your own state of comfort. I am sure he wasn't and would never force you unless you want to exaggerate things here.

Imagine if I should go to bayelsa state and My friend as me to learn Ijaw language (which is the sensible thing to do). Would I simply say No or would I say No and come on Nairaland whining about it ?

Yes sir that was what you did here. I do not know your friend but the picture you painted of your friend is nothing rather than a Bigot if he actually did what you are saying here.

I cannot Imagine myself asking my friend to learn a language for his own survival or even as trivial as just because we are friends, then my friend said No (which is alright) but also comes of a public forum and whines about it. It is betrayal of friendship I must say.

So sir Kingsley, you have no point here but it would have been a completely different case of your friend was forcing you but he asked thus your point has been trashed out.

Anyway good luck.

PoliticsRe: They Are Finally Renovating Our Airports!! by aljharem(m): 3:12am On Apr 04, 2012
Papabrown has started again. Ebuka just wrote an article on the state of the airport in Nigeria which he recently used and you are here lying

Immediately I walked out of the immigration point into the baggage claim area, the stench hit me. For all I cared, I might as well have been standing right inside a giant diaper while I got peed on! I honestly do not remember the last time I smelt urine so bad. The smell seemed just a little more pungent everywhere I walked to. I decided to suck it up and stop being an ‘aje butter’; consoling that it would be over soon as our luggage arrived.

One minute became 10; and 10 became 40 and there was no sign of anybody’s luggage attempting to roll out. People were starting to get apprehensive: asking anyone who looked like they had answers, for the whereabouts of our luggage. All we kept getting in reply was: “It’s coming. Just exercise patience.”

As the hour mark approached, it became obvious that patience had burnt enough calories and could not be exercised anymore. Where the hell were our bags?

Suddenly, people started running out the front door of the terminal with their trolleys. I asked where everyone was headed and one of my fellow passengers said that our bags were at the baggage claim hall at the other end of the airport. It seemed strange at first that our luggage would be sent elsewhere when everyone knew where we had landed, but I tried to contain my shock and nicely ran along.

As we walked into the second baggage claim area, the sight that greeted us was next to heart breaking. Bags were all over the floor, boxes had been thrown off the baggage tracks and just a few were still left on the tracks that had stopped moving. Chaos ensued as people started running round trying to identify their bags. A few people found theirs but a lot of us did not. At first, I thought they had been stolen with nobody there to claim them for over an hour. But the number of people who had not seen theirs made me assume that not all the bags were out. Yes, I was stuck with assuming since there was no single official there to let us know what was really going on. Those of us still without bags were in the majority, so we just stood around the tracks hoping our luggage would come out at some point.

Some 10 minutes later, the tracks jerked a little and started moving. People, half soaked in sweat at this point, managed to crack little smiles as the first bag rolled out, and people began to pick up. It seemed like the worst was over and we were about to finally leave the airport after spending what could easily be the flight time between Lagos and Dakar. But we were wrong. It must have been just over 5 minutes after the luggage started coming out, that salt was added to injury.

The hall suddenly went dark, and silent, and the tracks stopped moving. PHCN had decided that the international airport had enjoyed enough power for one day. A male voice shouted: “NEPA says welcome to Nigeria” and general laughter followed.

But someone was not laughing. A Caucasian lady, who I later found out was in Nigeria for the first time, was sobbing right behind me. She held on to her little boy with her right hand as she tried to make the sound of her crying a little less audible with her left. I looked back at her, and she caught my eyes and tried to look away. Then I asked if she was okay.

She did not answer immediately. She reached for her handbag and got out a face towel and dabbed on her teary eyes. Then she said with a forced smile; “Yes I am fine. I’m just a little overwhelmed by everything.” As simple as those words were, they turned out to be the saddest part of my arrival ordeal. Here was a first timer in Nigeria, who had probably come into the country after being told tales of woe about how unsafe the country is. Still, she decided to come for whatever reason and in just over 2 hours of being in the country, she had already had enough.

I lied and told her that this was unusual even for me as a Nigerian, since I had not witnessed this sort of drama before. I promised her that she would be fine. As we were talking, power was restored and the many Nigerians, who had not been to the country in a while, took a lot of joy in shouting “Up NEPA”. Thankfully, her luggage came out before mine and she seemed just a little relaxed again as she waved me goodbye.

Living the above experience at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos and then hearing that the aviation minister thinks upper class tickets are too high, leaves me confused. For most other Nigerians, my airport story is a relatable story for air travelers in Nigeria. Expensive business and first class tickets are not the priority. Add to that the fact that the airport’s IT system recently shut down, leaving passengers unable to check in simply because Maevis’ contract was terminated without a proper backup plan.

Threats should be issued to the airport management who have let the rot to continue, not international airlines who have a right to fix prices based on demand. It would be nice for once to see that our government is more concerned with Nigerians, and not how they are perceived internationally.

Some bragging rights are better earned when there’s actually something to brag about; else they just become noise. These unending threats from the aviation minister are starting to sound like just noise.
