@ ChinenyeN, one thing you seem to accept is that the word "Eboe" was not coined by the Europeans. It originated from within Igboland.

Then the next question is, who owns that word "Igbo" when not a single clan is Igboland is called Igbo? How did it come about?
actually the word eboe/igbo was coined by Europeans

Pls name them. I challenge you to name just 10 prominent nationally known businessmen of Hausa-Fulani extraction who -

1. never made any money whatsoever from Nigerian government contract

2. never benefitted from Nigerian government-approved import duty waiver or other government business concession

3. never participated in politics or held political post in Nigeria

4.  never benefitted from Nigerian Customs Service illegal seizure of imported goods or illegal customs duty waivers

When you have finished that one, then please name 10 Hausa-Fulani lawyers who became SAN or had successful corporate practice; also name ten prominent northern medical practitioners who have money to squander on Oxford Street etc.

Katsumoto:
How can Lagos and Anambra be of similar sizes if Anambra generates N12B annually and Lagos generates N240B (your figures by the way)? Also, Fashola has more funds at his disposal because Fashola is generating more revenue. I don't see where the similarities are. What has Obi achieved in Anambra? Fashola is getting international recognition for his works and you are talking about Obi. Can Anambra survive if it does not receive its allocation from Abuja?

The point I am making is that Fashola generates more internal revenue than all other governors. If Nigeria is to progress, should it be electing leaders that just spend what accrues from the oil or should it be electing leaders that will generate more revenue from other sources, thereby making the funds larger for projects?

Y[b]es, zoning was an internal matter to PDP. The question is, 'will Ndigbo be expecting PDP to put forward an Igbo candidate in 2015, considering that the same PDP did not follow its zoning formula'? Also, why do you not think that by Ndigbo voting overwhelmingly for the candidate that killed the zoning formula, it has sent a message to the rest of Nigerians that zoning (within the PDP) is dead? If Ndigbo wanted an Igbo president in 2015, then Igbo leaders (in the Ohanaeze) should have told GEJ to step aside for a Northern candidate, so that it can have its turn in 2015. But instead, Ohanaeze supported GEJ publicly and GEJ won overwhelmingly in the SE. If that can not be classified as 'help in killing zoning', then I don't know what is.

2015 will be interesting.

Ohakim fleds away to europe

Barely 24 hours to the inauguration of new government in the country, the Imo State Governor, Chief Ikedi Ohakim, has reportedly sneaked out of the country.
Sources close to Douglas House (Government House), Owerri, confided in Sunday Sun that Ohakim left for Lagos on Friday evening after handing over the reign of office to his successor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha.

Ohakim was sighted at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos, while boarding Ethopia Airlines to unspecified European country. But Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Nze Elvis Agukwe, dismissed the report, saying his boss was still in the country. However, he did not say where Ohakim is currently residing.
He said, “Ohakim is still around. The man failed an election and accepted defeat. Why are they still beaming their searchlight on him? He should be left alone to rest. He has handed over the affairs of the state to the new governor. It is rubbish for people saying that he has left the country.”

Agukwe, who acknowledged that he had received several phone calls from different quarters alleging that Ohakim was sighted at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport Ikeja, Lagos, while boarding Ethopia Airlines on Friday night, told Sunday Sun that Ohakim left for Lagos on Friday evening after handing over to his successor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha.
Alhaji you can do better than this. Be very sure what you're saying instead of reading from somewhere and calling them facts.

Peter Obi was a rich man before he got into politics. All those estates u mentioned, were his before he became governor. Its like Rochas who's now the governor of Imo state, who is a billionaire before getting into government. Afterall a while, people will start accusing the fellow of amassing wealth from the state coffers irrespective of whether he actually embezzled or not.

I know Peter Obi. I've seen the infrastructural projects in Anambra. I know better. He's my state governor and I know ALL the communities in Anambra and all the major infrastructures before he became governor and now. I can confidently tell you that he has performed well above his contemporaries in the same FG allocation bracket.

When you wrote that "Chime and Obi have a lot of money given to them" and that "the SE receives tax from oil companies and compensation for Biafra", it shows your ignorance about the region. Please, which oil companies does the SE receive tax from? Which compensation has the SE received because of Biafra? I want you to specifically answer these questions and not dodge them cos I'm waiting for them to be answered.

When you also wrote that "Lagos does not collect its money from FG", what exactly do you mean? I take it that you meant IGR. If so, what about the FG allocation that goes to it? Doesn't that count also? Money is money whether its huge or not.
so obi got his money before getting into power grin grin you people make me laugh

ok please did obj not have ota farm before he was the president which he used to run or his terms

please brother lets be real here, NO POLITIAN before 2000 declared their asset to the public but after obj first tenure they all became rich, shame

secondly, obi infrastructures grin , are they in his name like the tinubu or are they in the state's name,.,.,. oboy wake up

is ojukwu not just given 1.5 billion naira huh why can't he donate for the SE development undecided unless he wants to go down as the most unless leader in the worlds history

concerning amaechi, i am sure u know the ND collects extra allocation than any other region so he can do alot more

to ur last point, it is a well known fact the FG does not give lagos Federal allocation the last time i checked,

now IGR is the only money lagos is getting to develop itself, much more other states most especially rivers state

No wonder the Niger Delta militants are so aggrieved. Its truly painful to see their own people suffering and dying while the northern elites who destroyed Nigeria and reduced the ND to an environmental wasteland are busy squandering money like Arab sheikhs in London. In fact, I'd be a militant myself if I was from ND and read some of the s t u p i d comments here on this thread from some r e t a r d e d northerners gloating because a London shop now advertises in Hausa.

These m o r o n s are from a region that according to the UNDP, WHO, World Bank etc has the highest incidence of maternal mortality, infant mortality, polio, meningitis etc in all of Africa and the world. Not to talk of the highest incidence of poverty, illiteracy, underdevelopment etc in Nigeria. Yet some i d i o t northerners instead of hiding their heads are exhibiting their s t u p i d i t y here on nairaland.

Politics › I Won’t Attend Jonathan’s Inauguration, By Buhari by aljharem3(op): 2:20am On May 29, 2011
PRESIDENTIAL Candidate of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), in the April 16 general elections, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, yesterday said he would not honour the official swearing-in ceremony of President Goodluck Jonathan in Abuja today.

Buhari’s absence, according to him, would register his dissatisfaction with the conduct of the elections in the South East and South-South zones of the country.

He faulted the stamp of approval given to the poll by both local and international observers, challenging them to come out and state clearly their findings in the Southern part of the country. He also wondered why observers would declare the elections as the most transparent in the history of the Nation, despite what he considered as “electoral irregularities.”

According to him, “people who said that the 2011 election was an improvement over the 2007 election can voice their opinions as they are entitled to theirviews, but it is on record that I challenged them to state what they found out in the southern part of the country and up till now, they could not provide a detail reports on how the election was conducted in the South-South, South-East and South-West, where he alleged that high irregularities and fraud were recorded during the poll.”

The former Head of State is already challenging the outcome of the elections at the Presidential Election Tribunal. Speaking in a British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) Hausa Service interview, monitored in Jos, Buhari said that although a formal invitation letter was sent

to him through the office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) last week, he replied to indicate his unwillingness to attend the event.

“They sent me an invitation letter and card from the offices of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) and the agency of government responsible for the welfare of past leaders of the country, whether military or civilian, to attend activities marking the inauguration of the president in Abuja and I asked them to reply that I will not be able to attend the occasion,” he said.

Conceding, however, that the CPC was not well rooted in the southern part of the country, Buhari said the party had larger following in the northern part of the country. He said “It is true that we have more supporters in the north more than we have in the south, but we still have our supporters in the south. Again it is also factual that our supporters in the south were either driven away from the elections or some even killed, which we have documentary evidences, which will make available at the appropriate time. But since the matter is before the Tribunal, I would rather not make detailed comments on it.”

According to him, the CPC would continue to contest the result of the election at the Tribunal hoping for what he called “justice.”
