Just to set the records straight, Egusi, Ogbono/apon, are not original igbo foods. Yes the Igbos might have modified it to taste better but did not start from them.

It started with the yorubas in Nigeria and was introduced to the igbos and hausawa.

Edikiong we all know is calabar food

Tuwo shikafa is Hausa and fulani food

Isi ewu is Igbo

Banga soup is Itsekiri

Eba/amala is yoruba food

Pounded yam/Iyan was dated back to the 1700 in the Yagba district present day Kogi

akara and Moi-moi are yoruba foods

jollof rice is Yoruba I don't know of fried which is likly chinese

The colorful geles are a recent modification from not even Nigeria. Geles used to look more like the top picture, but they have been modified to look like this now. That is fashion. Yoruba did not start it. That is why in your weddings you were aso-oke and Igbo and south south wear them more in their weddings.

Someone said Igbos called it Ichafu. That is why in most Igbo weddings and South South weddings they wear them more. You people should stop using internet to know the Nigerian culture, go to Naija. Everyone knows the stereotypical yoruba dressing is aso-oke, and south east to be the george and the gele. That is the Nigeria I grew up in. Let's not twist fact. I think Madam Kofo actually paved way for Yorubas to start embracing this type of gele.

For Alj Harem, who says Igbo's were introduced to woven cloth by others, Woven cloth was found in the Igbo Ukwu excavations. Igbo Ukwu is from the 9th Century. Tell me of any other Nigerian tribe that had woven cloth on or before the 9th Century. People have posted pictures of one of the burial vaults in this thread. You can also google for more information.

This book which was written in the 1800's describe an expedition which was undertaken in the 1800's and how the explorers came across a fancy cloth which was woven by the Igbo's. It telss of how the Igbo's went as far as the confleunce at Ghebe to sell their cloth
