shutupareyouGOD: Hi guys…been following this Canada immigration thread since 2020…..but not actively participating because I’m not yet in the pool…here’s why….which would lead to my questions….pls share your experience
So I and my husband started our masters in 2018 and were hoping to be done by 2020 …it’s a par time MBA so it’s 2 yrs… we were so hopeful to join the pool in 2020….then COVID happened and unilag ,most schools sha calendar scattered…..long story short… we should be done by September 2022…latest 2023 …:.but it’s seems like a long time to weight considering that we would both be turning 30 this yr…. And I’ve been following this thread and it doesn’t seem like there has been an ITA the whole of 2021 till now…I may be wrong sha…..I already applied to get BCS done this April…..but we are not sure about our fate with the express entry…..only been seeing provincial nomination story…. Don’t know much about the success rate for pnp…pls enlighten me Also because of the age factor, we are considering going via study route…..which leads to my second question…can we apply to study for an Msc In Canada this yr and join the pool from there…or get a work after that……….or just be patient about joining the pool latest next yr? Would be easier to suggest a province if we knew you and your husband's NOCs. Either way you can do some research on Ontario, Alberta, Manitoba, Saskatchewan and see if you qualify. Ontario only invites certain nocs with crs of 460-467 or so, not sure. Sask requires you to have your work experience in the same field you studied in Uni Manitoba needs you to have a sibling living in their province And I think Alberta sends invites to people in the pool, don't know how the choose. The future of FSW is still a bit unclear right now but I believe they'll tell us their plan soon. Whatever the plan, it seems like any new fsw invites would be leaving in 2023. Applying for a Canadian Masters is also a really good idea. You can always apply for permanent stay later. This is the only option that's sure to get you into Canada this year but you need a lot of money for it. |

Seeing thar I sold my car to meet the last fund I saw a guy on Canadavisa that used giftdeed for updated pof but I don't know what his outcome was. But if you search the internet well, I'm pretty sure you'd find people who have been in your shoes that can give you advice. Did you spend the entire pof and how long were you given to submit. |

Like i advised before, if you did your biometrics in Lagos, pls save yourself stress and dhl your passport to VFS Lekki as you will get in back in a month max.
I really wonder what the rush is about? If you waited almost 2-3years for PPR, what is a month that you cant wait it out.
I come in peace, no body should come for me o Lol, the people have developed trust issues after waiting 2-3 years. Maybe its the chance that a new strain of COVID would be discovered while you're waiting for Lagos to stamp your passport. |

littyprincess: Because many people don’t want to post their ppr stories but come here to ask us how to send their passport to vfs. I’ve seen a couple in the past few days. Like how do you have the temerity to ask us about vfs services for ppr that you didn’t announce to us?? Some will even still be codedly asking for information on settling in/landing meanwhile dem nor tell us about ppr o. Lmaooo omooo Anyways we aren’t entitled to their ppr stories sha, same way they aren’t entitled to our help. Na why I Dey scroll past when I see the questions. Lol I suspected same but I can't even blame them. For some of them, this would be the second PPR they'll be announcing. They're most likely over it. Please you people should forgive IRCC and their sluggish ways and still share PPR when it comes. I think I've read all the old PPR gist on nairaland, I need new ones. It helps keep hope alive |

oyemaiya: Spoke with some immigration consultants here in Canada, their submission about the recent memo made sense.
Canada wants to send people to the colder regions/provinces. So I guess that explains why even CEC will be placed on hold.
So if you intend to make any move to Canada, I think it makes sense to come through those regions. You will be mandated to stay 2 years there and after you will be free to move to other Provinces.
I pray for you that God will favour you and grant you speed in Jesus name.
For the lady who is pregnant, hmmm, you know IRCC requires that you notify them of any change in situations and I think they specifically mentioned pregnancy. Please do the needful, if you travel and the Border Officer notices your pregnancy hmmm may God help you.
Also for those landing especially now, please don’t go out during your quarantine period, we had a case of someone who had endured 10 days out of 14, on the day they chose to go buy something from the store (10th day) was the day immigration visited. Their PR was revoked and they were deported to naija. That won’t be your case in Jesus name. So even if it is 2 days quarantine please stay indoor.
One of our folks sent passport to Lagos VO on 31 Dec , it was ready for collection on 20th Jan.
Remember, while we all doing all we can to qualify and migrate to Canada. There is a country we must never miss. So do all you can to make Heaven, you can miss Canada since there are alternatives but please don’t miss heaven, the only alternative is hell. Take care The quarantine story is fake, we heard no one was deported. |

Simran94: That shouldn’t be an issue though. All you have to do is prepare. Few months to when your visa in the UK will expire, it’s either you extend your contract with your current company for the next year or start applying for a new job that will sponsor you for the next year, then after 5 years you can apply for PR or once you have a year of work experience in the UK, you can start applying to other Countries with easy PR application. Atleast we both agree that there should always be a backup plan until PR. We can't assume the skilled jobs will be available for everyone just when they need one. |

Lotusgoddess: Not entirely correct cos they're working on PNP candidates from 2021 as well. Someone with March 2021 AOR has gotten PPR. So PNP candidates are quite hopeful. Wow, I knew they were working on pnp but I didn't know they were working this fast. The memo mentions FHS meaning fsw, cec and fst. Its assumed pnp isn't included. The PPR gist on this thread has paused again, I need to be reading those things to have hope. |

xxoxx: pls let me get something clear , can one get selected via pnp and straight to getting ppr , isn't it that pnp only helps to raise crs score to enhance being picked for fsw.? Abeg let me understand ooo Yeah getting picked via pnp only guarantees you ITA in the next pnp draw, you still have to do the whole pre_ppr dance with IRCC |

Francieuche: I have crs of 490,please how can I apply for pnp since fsw is on hold and also please my ielts expires in June.. Ontario picks from the pool but a 490 CRS is too high for Ontario. Go to the sinp site and see if they accept your noc and if you can reach their cutoff. Manitoba needs you to have a sibling living in Manitoba so you can try them if you have. Also look at Alberta, I'm not sure what their requirements are. |

Amanee: The most important thing should be to get out of Nigeria, any other thing is secondary. Lol who is chasing you? I agree with him though, spending all your money relocating to a country that might end up not giving you PR is terrible. High bp will set in when your visa is about to expire. I think the UK people should have a plan B. In the past 2 years, Canada has gone from a solid plan A to a shaky plan B. I envy the people that applied earlier and got PR in 2-6 months. |

Igethope: I like that. Guys don’t panic. Just after this memo, Justin issued a letter that backlogs should be taken care of . Of course score is expected to go up initially when draw resumes. This leaked memo does not reflect the movement we have been seeing this year. I believe the only reason Canada has been silent on this, (with all their private and redacted memos) is that if they were to publish the new processing timelines, a lot of people will lose interest and consider other countries. And they don't want to lose very high skilled workers in the pool, so its better to leave us guessing and hoping. But its something one can estimate by just being realistic and looking at the numbers. |

Olisa222: Please can you apply for PNP and FSW same time? What if PNP picks you and FSW resumes, can you still accept ITA and continue with Fsw? Sure, you can be in the pool for FSW and still be applying to provinces for pnp, but once you're nominated by a province and you accept the nomination, your profile will be removed from the pool, meaning you can't get ITA again once you accept a nomination. Realistically, unless you're in the pool with a CRS score of over 500, this year, you're better off applying for pnp if you're eligible for any. |

GraciousWords: Seems you decided to go with the 1st link.....choose inside Canada since you just submitted and that's where all apps go before they are redistributed. Use application number starting with "E", you will be assigned a proper UCI in due course.
The 2nd one is much better in my opinion (I'm not saying the fist one doesn't work) and more streamlined and doesn't have any questions about where you applied, allows you to provide either of 3 numbers (passport, UCI or app) and also gives an automated response immediately so you are sure it was submitted.
Your call though....me, I like new things...tear rubber....the first webform link was last updated in 2018 (see bottom of the page).....the second one in June 2021 https://secure.cic.gc.ca/ClientContact/en/Application/Form/72 Lol thank you. I followed the second link as per your initial recommendation, just noticed the UCI question is optional. |
