FamilyRe: I Discovered My Wife Lied About Her Age After 3 Years Of Our Marriage. Help! by Allwility: 11:37am On Oct 02, 2016
The fact that the wife didn't inform the OP herself of her true age but he stumbled upon it is quite bad. If I were the OP, I would be thinking about what other lies she may have told that I'm yet to find out.

Someone once said, trust is like paper once it's crumpled can never be made straight again. So I can understand if the OP's marriage will experience trust issues. The wife in question have lot of work to do...not the OP. Oga OP, calm down, divorcing her will be a harsh decision o. Think of your kids, you don't want them growing up without their mom. So chillax...everyone makes mistakes, we just need someone to correct 'em.

RomanceRe: I am 21 And My BF 24 Proposed; I Feel That I'm Too Young And It's Too Soon by Allwility: 2:38am On Sep 29, 2016
OP
Truth is, you are not mentally prepared for marriage. It has nothing to do with your age or the fact that you've got a good job and all that because life isn't a timetable . Your bf should have prepared you for it though by giving you hints, asking albeit jokingly what you'd feel if he asked you to marry him and all that before doing the whole proposal thingy.

As for those saying you need more time to explore life before getting married so you don't cheat, well they are entitled to their own opinion. But I know for sure that even if one were to be happily married with kids today and you were asked to choose a new life partner from a line up of thirty guys, before you count from the first guy to the 15th you'd see someone you could spend the rest of your life with and still be happy. So the exploring option seems lame to me.

Having said that, it might take the grace of God for your bf to swallow this and propose again to you. He might feel insecure for a long time to come even if you walked up to him and accepted his proposal right now. He'd always feel you accepted him as an afterthought or maybe you had someone else and it didn't work for you guys..so you're taking him as option B. You have a lotta work to do bae. If he accepts you back without holding this over your head, then I'd say he's a matured, ready for marriage and a keeper. Don't let all these NL gals snatch him from you to avoid stories that touch. cheesy grin

The call is yours to make. I wish you well.

PS: Virtue has failed me. If there are typos in my comment abeg just get the message. It's 2am and my brain is on recess. cheesy

ZIMDRILL:
a spark is always there whether you connect correctly or the wrong way but there is a difference in the loudness and spark size

negative of a good battery to negative of dead battery never explode unless if there something wrong with the dead battery especially in africa we dont want to replace things straight away we fiddle with dead thing until it either kills us or finally surrender that the part is dead

the reason we use the metal body is very simple, the body has a better earth contacts than the battery terminal and also your negative cable might be short to reach the battery terminals so you can attacth it to the manifold engine hooks etc

a normal dead battery would not explode if a negative from a good battery is connected to it
Lol, I believe the OP must have jump started his vehicle and prolly viewing this thread from one cool joint. Come make we go one cool spot go take pepper soup and orijin. grin grin

I raised this topic during lunch hour at work today...o boy see debate. Engineering guys bringing out automotive textbooks to confirm and all that but the safety guys were having none of it. Chief engineer said he's always connected negative terminal to negative terminal and it works for him although he could remember just one time he jumped a battery and it exploded. We asked if an incident investigation was done to determine what caused the battery exploding, he said no.

I smiled and walked away.

Ok, I think I have to say something here. First things first, @OmaniPadmeHum, let's not confuse safety management and safety engineering. NEBOSH Dip deals with the former and MSC. in risk management or process safety engineering deals with the latter. In NEBOSH Dip, you learn about safety management, Control of hazardous agents etc but in process safety engineering you learn stuffs like fault tree analysis, FMEA, QRA, HAZOP and the likes. These are two different things.

Having said that, bearshare is right. OSHAcademy is just like Novelle, Sheilds, or any other training body in the world. OSHA doesn't certify individuals or trainers but can authorize trainers bodies to conduct training.

I stand to be corrected on this but I think here's what goes:

HSE regulators: OSHA (US), HSE (UK), NIMASA, Fed Ministry of Labour and Employment, Worksafe ACT, Safework Australia

HSE Professional bodies: IOSH, IIRSM, IRCA (safety auditors fall under here, shebi them be safety too...lol), ASSE, CIEH, IEMA etc

Note: These professional bodies do conduct training courses or license course providers to conduct training programs as part of their continuous professional developed. You have different cadres of membership like graduate members, fellows, chartered members etc.

HSE Examination bodies: NEBOSH, Universities that conduct HSE degree or diploma programs etc.

Course Training Providers: OSHAcademy, Novelle, Fintserv, Sheilds etc. These training providers sometimes get licensed or approved by the examination bodies or regulatory bodies to conduct training and issue certificates of attendance or awards that you underwent a training.
Car TalkRe: How To Jump Start A Car by Allwility:

i think you are being confused

when jump starting or even charging a battery the connection is always positive to positive and negative to negative

then you are jumping from a standalone battery that battery will only discharge 12volts

then if you are jump starting from an running or whether idling or being raved you will only get the regulated current from the running car roughly 14volts which then gets reduce when current get to the dead battery as the dead battery would suck up some volts most likely 2 volts there the remaining 12 volts starts up the car

so tell us when you jump start a car you put positive to negative and then negative to positive no wonder you fry the ECU
Lol, am I confused on this? Not at all. I never said you should cross wires like +ve to -ve...You can go through my posts fa.

What we are discussing is why you must not connect the negative terminal of the good battery to the negative terminal of the dead battery. If there's a spark, it can lead to explosion of the battery.

That is not true, I have done that more than 20 times without frying my car
That you didn't fry your car on those attempts were all near misses if you know what I mean. Acid batteries produce hydrogen when charged. If you do -ve to -ve connection there are chances of producing a spark which might ignite the hydrogen and explode the battery. The resultant effect might be acid being poured on you or your car's microprocessors being fried.

Yeah. But I think connecting -ve to -ve gives you a parallel connection that increases current and isn't safe for the car.
Yup, that's correct. -ve to -ve will fry the car.

@ agabusta
cc: zeongeon and other respected safety professionals in the house.

I am not saying that ISPON shouldn't oversee safety in Nigeria. All I am saying is that they should have different routes of entry into their membership cadre. Their stance of if you do not hold a GHSE and HSE level 3, no membership is streamlining things. So if I register and practice HSE in say the UK for instance, and my company posts me to the Nigeria do I have to start from the scratch again?

I know GHSE and HSE Level 3 doesn't cost much but then factor this: if every other country operates on the same basis as our dear ISPON, that means we all would have to take GHSE again in these countries fa...it doesn't make sense.

In Canada for instance, there are different routes to becoming a CRSP. Here's a link to how you can become one.
https://www.bcrsp.ca/prospective-certificants/why-become-crsp/are-you-eligible-crsp%C2%AEpsac%C2%AE-designation?_e_pi_=7%2CPAGE_ID10%2C6319955585

Same goes for IOSH and all other safety professional bodies. The truth is that ISPON is looking at the money they stand to make by having people run their GHSE and HSE level 3 courses. They need to standardize things so that ISPON membership can be considered as a basis for becoming a member of other safety professional bodies in other countries.
CareerRe: Any HSE Professionals In The House? by Allwility: 11:03pm On Sep 25, 2016
It's only in Naija things are done upside down. It is improper for ISPON to demand that safety officers be registered with them without having a recognition system for other safety certifications. The idea that if you've got other certification eg your NEBOSH IGC or Diploma but must take the General HSE course and HSE level 3 before becoming a member is hilarious.
They need to consider other route of entry to membership. Check out IOSH or IIRSM, you will see they've got different routes of entry to their different membership levels. Besides what are ISPON's plans for CPD? Does HSE stop in level 3? I know some HRs will soon jump on the bandwagon train..ie 'no ISPON membership, no recruitment for the position of safety personnel'. That to me is placing more value on a certificate... U get it??

Is it that Nigerians are too blind to see it or what?? Dangote's strategic investment plan is to sell forex to Nigeria. He said so himself.

Now, if we sell these keys assets and he buys them up whether directly or indirectly, he will be one of our major source of forex and by so doing we've handed him our balls..

Brace up Nigerians, this is gonna be one tough ride.
PoliticsRe: National Economic Council Okays Fg’s Measures To Beat Recession by Allwility:
huh

After reading that asset sales is top on the list for economic revitalization, I am reminded of a particular story from the Bible.

Genesis 47:13-27
New International Version (NIV)
Joseph and the Famine

13 There was no food, however,in the whole region because the famine was severe; both Egypt and Canaan wasted away because of the famine.

14 Joseph collected all the money that was to be found in Egypt and Canaan in payment for the grain they were buying, and he brought it to Pharaoh’s palace.

15 When the money of the people of Egypt and Canaan was gone, all Egypt came to Josephand said, “Give us food. Why should we die before your eyes? Our money is all gone.”

16 “Then bring your livestock,” said Joseph. “I will sell you food in exchange for your livestock, since your money is gone.”

17 So they brought their livestock to Joseph, and he gave them food in exchange for their horses, their sheep and goats, their cattle and donkeys. And he brought them through that year with food in exchange for all their livestock.

18 When that year was over, they came to him the following year and said, “We cannot hide from our lord the fact that since our money is goneand our livestock belongs to you, there isnothing left for our lord except our bodies and our land.

19 Whyshould we perish before your eyes—we and our land as well? Buy us and our land in exchangefor food, and we with our land will be in bondage to Pharaoh.Give us seed so that we may liveand not die,and that the land may not become desolate.”

20 So Joseph bought all the land in Egypt for Pharaoh. The Egyptians, one and all, sold their fields, because the famine was too severefor them. The land became Pharaoh’s,

21 and Joseph reduced the people to servitude,[a]from one end of Egypt to the other.

22 However, he did not buy the land of the priests, because they received a regular allotment from Pharaoh and had food enough from the allotmentPharaoh gave them. That is why they did not sell theirland.

23 Joseph said to the people, “Now that I have bought you andyour land today for Pharaoh, here is seedfor you so you can plant the ground.

24 But when the crop comes in, give a fifthof it to Pharaoh. The other four-fifths you may keep as seedfor the fields and as food for yourselves and your householdsand your children.”

25 “You have saved our lives,” they said. “May we find favor in the eyes of our lord;we will be inbondage to Pharaoh.”

26 So Joseph established it as a law concerning land in Egypt—still in force today—that a fifthof the produce belongs to Pharaoh. It was only the land of the priests that did not become Pharaoh’s.

27 Now the Israelites settled in Egypt in the region of Goshen. They acquired property thereand were fruitful and increased greatly in number.
The End.

So after selling off our national assets, what nexthuh How does that swing us out of recession when it is obvious the policies that led us to recession are still in place?? We are in recession because of our outdated macroeconomic policies and not because we have an empty treasury...Its like a man trying to fill a basket with water water...i mean it doesn't make any sense...you've gotta plug the holes first before you can make headway.
