Tabari IX:137 - "Allah granted Rayhana of the Qurayza to Muhammad as booty."

Ishaq 969 - "Men were to lay injunctions on women lightly, for they were prisoners of men and had no control over their persons." - This same text also justifies beating women for flirting.

Tabari Vol 9, Number 1754 - "Treat women well, for they are [like] domestic animals with you and do not possess anything for themselves." From Muhammad's 'Farewell Sermon'.

get a bible and search for Zephaniah 3:9.

Will I see "Peoples" there?. I guess not because the verse is below:

For then will I turn to the people a pure language, that they may all call upon the name of the LORD, to serve him with one consent.

May be you haven't heard of the language of the Holy Ghost a.k.a speaking in tongues. You wouldn't know what it is because you do not have the spirit of God in you. So, stop trying to interpret the bible you know nothing about. The verse up there is not talking about Arabic, Igbo, Hausa or Yoruba, rather, it is talking about the heavenly language that even the devil cannot understand. You can't beat that, can you?. That's why it is very difficult to explain these things to a semi illiterate like uplawal who is yet to recognize that she is living in bondage as a woman.

No regrets about Asaba Airport -Uduaghan

The state governor said the Asaba International Airport is the cheapest and one of the most beautiful in the country
ARTICLE | NOVEMBER 28, 2011 - 12:35PM | BY TONY TAMUNO

Delta State Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, has said that he has no regret about committing state resources into the building of the Asaba International Airport, saying it still remains the cheapest Airport to be built in the country today.

Speaking in Warri, Uduaghan noted that even though work is still ongoing at the Airport, it is already being regarded as one of the most beautiful Airports in Nigeria.

He revealed that the Asaba International Airport had so far gulped about N17 Billion.

“The Asaba International Airport is still the cheapest to be constructed in Nigeria today; I can beat my chest to say it, let
anybody come here and stand before me and tell me the cost of any Airport in this country that is cheaper,” the Governor said.

“The construction of that Airport has been the fastest in Nigeria today. Some Airports that have been completed were started seven years ago and they are just being completed and the Asaba Airport took just three years and planes are already landing.

“Why I am very happy about the Asaba Airport today is that it is telling its own story. As at today, it has taken over 20,000 passengers and those 20,000 passengers are everywhere in Nigeria telling the story of Asaba Airport.”

@Aloyemeka the ignorant woman who derive joy in badmouthing Islam, why not check your bible with medicated glasses in Romans6:16 Do you not know if you keep presenting yourselves to anyone as slaves to obey him,you are slaves of him because you obey him, either of sin with death in view or of obedience with righteousness in view.Verse 22 says, However, now, because you(ALOYEMEKA and other ignorant Christians that claimed to be sons and daughters of Jesus their god) were set free from sin,but became slaves to God,you are having your fruit in the way of holiness and the everlasting life.

HOPE  THIS WILL MAKE YOU HAVE A RETHINK ABOUT ACCEPTING ISLAM THE TRUE RELIGION OF ABRAHAM DOWN TO JESUS,AND COMPLETED BY PROPHET MUHAMMAD?OR YOU DNT OUT OF HATRED,ARROGANCE.

Don’t you know that when you offer yourselves to someone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one you obey—whether you are slaves to sin, which leads to death, or to obedience, which leads to righteousness? But thanks be to God that, though you used to be slaves to sin, you have come to obey from your heart the pattern of teaching that has now claimed your allegiance. 18 You have been set free from sin and have become slaves to righteousness.-Romans 6:16-18

Please tell me how this quote translates to me being a slave of Allah?. It is either you are daft or you don't understand English very well. The slavery in this context is parallel to your own form of slavery to Allah. Try again.

Why are muslims always looking behind their shoulders because they are scared that their members may accept Christ and convert to Christianity?. If you have to be watchful so that your Christian wife does not convert your children, then there is something inherently wrong with your faith. You may call it being watchful but I call it paranoia. Also, must you make examples with Christians?. What about a muslim marrying a pagan or OlumbaOlumba or Grail message adherent as a wife?

Aringarosa:

Nigeria is a Nation of hypocrites and challatans. The Nations problem is not that we can not find a leader of Mandela or Ghandi quality , it is that we recognize the good quality in our leaders only when they're dead . For the records , here's what Ojukwu said when Chief Obafemi Awolowo died, quote him " We've lost a president we never had " Anyone who was alive during the political life of Awolowo should look back at what his State , the Western region of Nigeria was among the rest of 2 other Regions . That was the only state that run like a Nation with a view and a dream . When he could not be allowed to give the Nation his dream for Nigeria.

The West was the only Region that had absolute FREE EDUCATION UP TO THIRD YEAR HIGH SCHOOL, UNEMPLOYMENT AMONG THE POPULATION WHICH INCLUDED THE THEN WESTERN REGION. FARMING POLICY THAT KEPT FOOD PRODUCTION AT OPTIMUM TO FEED THE GROWING POPULATION,AWOLOWO GAVE THE POPULATION OF HIS REGION MASS MEDIA WHICH INCLUDED INTALLATION OF REDIFUSION IN MARKET SHEDS FREE. Even the Northern Region which had always been the sick child of Nigeria and the Country's parasite, could not match the quality of leadership in Awolowo's Region .

They all saw it , they all knew it was doable but instead they , including Nnamdi Azikwe did not give Obafemi the chance to give Nigeria the chance that big take off.  Ojukwu saw the quality in Awolowo's leadership only when he died as tribalism was played to the point it became the reductionist cloak to shield corruption and mediocrity in a nation with everything nature had endowed.

It is in the same spirit that Buhari now sees Ojukwu's reason to take Ibos out of Nigeria and in the civil war that almost decemented that group in a pogrom that excluded Camera and view of from the world community. Unfrtunately , the very reason and cause of the civil war is now too obvious to all Nigerians and the world to see .

Instead of picking our tooth and reminiscing on the past, why not think future on what is the solution to this problem called Nigeria today. I don't know about you but I am tired of the marriage with the North and only if they can approve my divorce from them, I will be happy.

Muslims celebrate new year 1433 after Hijra
MONDAY, 28 NOVEMBER 2011 00:00 BY OSIGBESAN SULTAN LUQMAN

NIGERIAN Muslims joined their brethrens across the world at the weekend to mark the start of a new Islamic calendar year, 1433 After Hijra (AH), which is postmarked with the flight from persecution of Prophet Muhammed (SAW) from Mecca to Medina and known as Hijra in Islamic history, theology and jurisprudence.

Christians in Nigeria yesterday marked the Advent day, which is the beginning of the Church Year for most churches in the Western tradition.

According to Bishop Peter Adebiyi, Bishop of Lagos West of the Anglican Communion, advent is the beginning of the Christian calendar, which is usually on the fourth Sunday before Christmas Day.

Historically, the primary sanctuary colour of Advent is purple. This is the color of penitence and fasting as well as the colour of royalty to welcome the Advent of the King. Purple is still used in some traditions (for example Roman Catholic). The purple of Advent is also the colour of suffering used during Lent and Holy Week.

Advent is marked by a spirit of expectation, anticipation, preparation and longing. There is a yearning for deliverance from the evils of the world, first expressed by Israelite slaves in Egypt as they cried out from their bitter oppression. It is the cry of those who have experienced the tyranny of injustice in a world under the curse of sin, and yet who have hope of deliverance by a God who has heard the cries of oppressed slaves and brought deliverance!

As part of the celebrations, Founder/Chief Missioner, Morkas Salam Society or Islamic Peace Society, Sheikh Moshood Ramadan Jubreel, in his new year message, congratulated all Nigerians for witnessing the new Islamic calendar but lamented the decadence creeping on the nation in the form of homosexuality and lesbianism.

Sheik Jubreel also urged President Goodluck Jonathan to shelve the fuel subsidy policy even as he asked members of the Boko Haram sect to stop their terror campaign and embrace peaceful means of getting their grouse addressed.

Life Jail Term For Terrorists In Lagos

The new Criminal Law of Lagos State, South West Nigeria has imposed life imprisonment for anyone found guilty of terrorism.
The new law was made known at a one-day stakeholders meeting which had lawyers and others in attendance.
Section 401 of the criminal law on terrorism defined terrorism as basically an organized means of committing violent crime while Section 401 (i) stipulates that “providing or collecting money for financing of act of terrorism shall be punishable with life imprisonment.”
Sub-section two of Section 401 added that “carrying out, attempting acts of terrorism and participating in or facilitating acts of terrorism is punishable with life imprisonment.”
Sub-section three of Section 401 states that “providing finance or making any other related services available to facilitate acts of terrorism is punishable with life imprisonment.”
Section 402 defines terrorism to include “any act endangering life, physical integrity etc calculated or intended to intimidate, put in fear, coerce or induce any government, body or institution, the general public or any segment of it to do or abstain from doing any act or to adopt or abandon a particular stand point, or to act according to certain principles.”
The law stipulates that “a person who participates in terrorist activities will still be liable for any other offences such as murder that might have occurred in the course of their activities.”
Also, the new law made provision for kidnapping. Section 269 (3) of the law states that kidnappers will be sentenced to 21 years imprisonment where the kidnappers demand for a ransom before the release of the victim.
Speaking at the event, the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Ade Ipaye said that the new criminal law was to promote an orderly society, and to foster collective obligation and duty towards the preservation and protection of lives and property.
He disclosed that the stakeholders’ meeting was held to bring Judges of the High Court, Magistrates, Nigerian Bar Association officials, public prosecutors, officers of the Nigeria Police and other stakeholders together to discuss and exchange ideas on how criminal justice administration could be dealt with effectively and to review and determine the likely implications of the contents of criminal law.

Remorse, from Ojukwu? When everything seems to point to the fact that he was right?  How do you justify not letting the South east go and still continue to subject them to pogroms? I think the eulogies are pouring in because most people have come to realize he far from the war villain he was ascribed and more of a persecuted prophet.

Ojukwu’s death marks the end of an era in Nigeria – Obasanjo
on NOVEMBER 28, 2011 · in NEWS

Abuja – Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has expressed sadness at the death of Ikemba Nnewi Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu.

“It is with deep sadness that I received the news of the demise of my friend and colleague.

“He and I were subalterns in the army at Nigeria’s independence in 1960.

“In a way, his death marks the end of an era in Nigeria.

Obasanjo also reminisced over discussions he had with Ojukwu before the latter’s demise.

In an interview in London, Obasanjo recalled particularly that at several times, he discussed the possibility of an expression of remorse from Ojukwu “on the Nigerian civil war which in itself was a culmination of actions and reactions’’.

“I condole with his family and pray for the repose of his soul.’’

Odumegwu Ojukwu died in a London hospital last Saturday at the age of 78. He was born on Nov. 4, 1933 in Zungeru, Niger State.

Ojukwu served in the Nigerian Army alongside Obasanjo until the civil war of 1967 to 1970 put them on different sides of the divide.

In his struggle to preserve the independence of the then Eastern Region where he was military governor, Ojukwu declared a sovereign Republic of Biafra also in a secessionist bid to carve the then Eastern Region as a separate entity from Nigeria.

In the declaration and during his public address to the people of Biafra, he said: “Having mandated me to proclaim on your behalf, and in your name, that Eastern Nigeria be a sovereign independent republic, now, therefore I, Lt.-Col. Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu, Military Governor of Eastern Nigeria, by virtue of the authority, and pursuant to the principles recited above, do hereby solemnly proclaim that the territory and region known as and called Eastern Nigeria together with her continental shelf and territorial waters, shall, henceforth, be an independent sovereign state of the name and title of The Republic of Biafra.’’

On July 6, 1967, the then military Head of State, Col. Yakubu Gowon declared war and attacked Biafra in a bid to stop Ojukwu’s secessionist attempt.

The war which ensued lasted for 30 months as the Nigerian side insisted that the country would not be polarised.

The war ended in January 15, 1970, after the then Lt.-Col. Phillip Effiong, leading the Biafran side, surrendered to Obasanjo.

Before the surrender, Ojukwu had gone on exile in Cote d’Ivoire. (NAN)

It's not news that the good looking and talented actor has anger issues, what is news is that he wants to do something about it. He's attending anger management classes. He released a statement via his PR people,
I will not disrespect you by lying about the fact that I do get into one or two brushes with people here and there. I will not give any excuse that I have never been that kind of person. I am taking an Anger Management Session now; it was advised not only by my fiancée, but also by my agent. It is a very interesting session for my well-being. One thing about our society is that we have not accepted celebrities with their whims and caprices. An actor is allowed to be eccentric. There is a thin line between the person you see on stage and the real actor. A lot of people do not understand that. I'm not perfect and I'm taking steps to deal with my imperfections" - Jim Iyke
