JERRYMAG4: Hi guys, after about 7 weeks, ACS finally replied me yesterday with a positive feedback. What amazed me most is that, contrarily to different testimonies here that they usually deduct years of experiences, mine were never deducted. I submitted 6 years and was assessed for 6 years and 1 month. I really want to thank everyone for your advice. I know that one day, I will come here and give testimony after my ITA.
#MOSTGRATEFUL while this is very interesting. i suggest you endeavor to interpret the result more clearly it should say something like " The following employment after November 2016 is considered to equate to work at an appropriately skilled level and relevant to 263111 (Computer Network and Systems Engineer) of the ANZSCO Code." The bolded is the indicator of the deduction. Congrats on the +ve assessment |

Misoke: house o make una come hep me ohhh! my story go long small but be patient and read..
I was assuming my spouse would need only an english language assessment for me to claim points for partner skills but from the EOI form i can see both English language and skill assessment..
Now the thing is he is a graduate from a tier 1 uni but he has been running his own logisitics/transport biz in the last 10years(studied transportation and maritime mgt)...
.i no fit write english test again oh to get 20 because i ve been getting R9L8W7S7.5 (this is my 2nd try, i no fit do am again)
I want to stand a chance for 189 visa while making 190 plan b since my occupation na ICT biz analyst( 70 seems to be the scores getting ITA for now and there are backlogs so i cant bank on 65) what school and what course? Please Don't be discouraged Madam for English, I have attempted PTE-A three times (75 is my least score, if its not speaking, its writing or listening or reading) and am not stopping ......... in fact i have another for next week (4th Attempt). Its all about how much you need it for the kids. people have done it 5 times just to claim competent English. Both Parties must be on 189 list as others have mentioned. getting 20 points is cheaper but may not be easier, however its give you 10pt xtra unlike the PPoints that gives 5. |

ugsams: I think this is a good development. About the concerns that most of the pioneers raised, I believe that even if it's not sustainable or active it can at least be an archive of all the important information from the thread which will be properly segregated. It can also serve as a back up in case a similar event like the one that happened years ago on Nairaland repeats it self and our data gets lost we can have some where to fall back on.
However, I don't think that the new site can be a replacement for this thread as both will have their own uniqueness.
I will suggest names like naijaoz dot com Nigeriatoaustralia dot com au4naija dot com naijamigrant dot com skilledmigrationNG dot com NaijatoAU dot com
I will also suggest we get a diary section on the site and/or a youtube channel to give some insight on life in Australia from different contributors. These are some of the things we lack in this thread as most of it's content if not all has been texts with little or no graphics. So many times I desire to see Nigerian Vloggers in Australia just like you will see many in America giving insight on some of their activities.
The only Australia based channel which I deemed fit to follow on youtube was that of a Filipino guy you can check out his channel on youtube with the name "Abroadero". I will like to get some recommendations of similar channels. Excellent. I love your insights. You have said it well. Highlighted are some of my choices also. |

MofePR: Hello,
Please any idea on the point in use for nurses? The occupational ceiling is about 17,000. Does this mean a nurse with EOI of 60 points could be considered first before an accountant with 75 points assuming they both have the same DOE?
cc Mamajaz, AussieMrs, Bellong Based on 2016/17 trend your simulation would have been a yes for the nurse But Based on the current trend... It's 70 points for nurses and still likely to get ITA before acct with 75 with same DOE. |

chidike: Not to sound like a sour puss, though a good idea, like someone said, this will be difficult to maintain. This thread is one of the first you see when you google Aussie PR, plus in this travel section its way up and newbies can always see it. This thread has a ton of information and its great that bellong is still here and goes back to update page zero whenever there is an update. My question is how would newbies find the site? Do you intend to redirect them there from here? (MODS might not like that) and one you dont have newbies to the thread who just started the process it will be difficult to keep tge site alive. Like someone mentioned all the older guys on this thread rarely come here because they're now more occupied with other stuff since getting their PR.
All the best though, we will support you. This is the only local source alas the only result for local content For Older guys .. their vital inputs are buried deep in between the pages and this the same with tons of vital info on this thread. An independent forum offers better navigation and good record keeping. Just as this thread started someday from page 0...... there is a start to everything |

catchdwind4rmkd: We share similar concerns on the subject matter... Sustainability... So, while I agree with Alphador's idea of making life easy for current and prospective my grants; I fear the issue of sustainability would suppress the many benefits of actualising such idea.
Alphador, I think we should go with the option suggested by Bellong; run both platforms and see how things turn out. Bnimz: The Nairaland forum should be maintained though.. A new site won't be as popular as Nairaland... Plus this forum has helped a lot of lives.. A new site can be created but this one needs to remain as well .... Just my opinion All concerns are noted with sustainability being the bane of concern here. Yes, a lot of people have come and gone. bellong's dedication is on a wavy level, I salute you boss. I also strongly agree that the thread must remain, who knows if the site will work out as intended as but as a community we can make it work. Surely it will take a while before the site gains traction. I know how people can react to change but change is a constant thing. @bnimz @bellong @catchdwind4rmkd @azy123 @mamajaz @nnbb2012 @michaelamo @uchenna2012 @ozymigrant @teewhysafe. @everyone I need your support as a to drive this alternative I will like to go ahead and work with people who are interested in setting up the modalities. Does anyone have a suggestion for the site name : |

Hi Aussie Fam, With support from the chief himself , Sir bellong, There is a proposal to move this thread away from NL to an independent forum. This will enable us interact better and track posts effectively. Feature will include but not limited to -better tracking of each NOC information. -categorisation of each subject matter -Easy navigation for new comers -Archivable content. -Avoid repetition of same issue over and over again, we can have "how to sections" for most used assessing bodies. -profile progress tracking -ITA dates countdown. - ......and so much more. This site will require all our effects to thrive as a community and this will require commitments from some users to acts as mods and supermods and champions I have to warn that this new community will not be a walk in the park but it will be an interesting walk for us all. Suggestion for site new is needed. Volunteer for Mods, Supermods, and champions (People with vast knowledge of a particular assessing authority) The idea is to have a platform like [url] www.migrati.. that will be information rich Please note that nothing has been concluded or decided yet. this is just an idea for us to consider |

KayVutton: I graduated 2009. Nysc 2010
I've been picking the certifications in the last 10 years. But the most recent is 2years old.
Kindly forgive my ignorance. How does the RPL work? I want to do this alongside Canada but this one seems more complicated.
I've tried searching for RPL via Google but couldn't find anything informative.
Is it an exam? Or like wes or IQas of Canada. I have Eca from IQAs though.
Do I need pof?
Honestly I've tried doing the research myself but I could not find anything. RPL is recognition of prior learning. It requires you to demonstrate your IT competency through two project since you don't have a degree in IT. It's another to skills assessment. It's quite an easy task we have success stories of that path on this thread. No pof required for RPL. All certs and degree should be presented for assessment for maximum exploit. Am sure @zoew @azy123 will be more than happy to assist with tested and trusted RPL report samples |
