Hmmm. Let's wait and see the result for this invitation round, then one can estimate the backlog on the prostate occupations. At east the 70pointers on prorata were closer to clearing theirs at the last round with 2-4weeks lodgement dates.

Next round should maybe clear up almost/if not all 70poin
.
We have been saying so since... 3rd round and we are still saying so grin..

teewhysafe:
True. However backlog for 65 pointers has also built up. Some have been waiting since last year November. Non Pro rata backlog is at around June 21st now. We are waiting sha

While waiting, I urge everyone to move to 70pts.. as you have clearly stated 65 is the new 60 based on backlog.. the crowd no be here.

Do they try sorting it out by occupation?
So let say for example, 200 applicants are to be invited in a round; and you have say a very competitive occupation like accountants having 140 applicants with 70+ points. Now would the invitation cater for all of them at the detriment of other less competitive ones with lower points say 60-65 or is there a basis for spreading the 200 slot across different professions?

That would be unfair and DIBP is always doing its best to be fair grin "dont quote me oo"
This is why there is a Pro -rata Arrangement for such occupations.

Pro-Rata: a proportion of the qualified people will be invited, instead of inviting all of them to fill up the quota for the round

jayooh:

Hello, what exactly does that date of effect mean and how does it relate to when one expects ITA? I have seen you guys talk about it once a while and I just want a better understanding.
Thanks

Example: ITA received July 25 with 70points for Accountant with Date of Effect (DOE) 18/11/2016 12:20pm

That means, in that round, the lowest ranked invitee in that occupation had 70 points and he submitted (or last updated) his EOI on 18/11/2016 12.20 pm. So, you can conclude three things (for that particular occupation):
Nobody below 70 points got invitation in the that round
All 70+ points got invitation
Among the EOIs with 70 points, those who submitted (or last updated) after 18/11/2016 12.20 pm did not get invitation.

hope that helps..

update:

All the EOIs will be sorted by points (highest to lowest) and within each point break they will be sorted by date of effect (oldest to newest). If they decide to invite 200 applicants in an invitation round, they will select the first 200 in the list. The cut-off publishes on the DIBP website is the points/date of effect of the last person who was invited.

During the time to the next invitation, new EOIs will be submitted and they will again be sorted by points/date of effect. So if you have 65 points, any new EOI with more points will go ahead of you in the queue. Any 65 point EOIs will go behind you (since you have an older EOI).

For 60 point applicants, they will remain in the queue until they reach the front of the line. The reality is that there have consistently been more new EOIs with at least 65 points to fill each invitation round, so those with 60 points are not moving forward in the line.

The occupation ceiling has been set for 2016-2017 and it will reset on July 1st. However they still refer to the same queue of EOI applications so the 60-point EOIs may continue to stand still while new EOIs overtake them.

Probably if July 25th results are released.. one may able to predict the possibility of when to expect an invite.

Nairalnders goodmorning, just got a wonderful news from my friend this morning about his ITA to NSW. Am here to ask this question on his behalf, he plans to travel alone for now due to financial constraints on visa fees and flights to Australia for his wife and two kids, However, he wants to know if he can proceed without medicals for every member of his family for now since they will be coming in a few months time after he is settled, or must everyone do a medicals now to continue his application? Thank you. your kind responses are very expedient @this time thanks to a wonderful community.

In his best interest he is advised to proceed and process the medicals for all his family members, so that they can benefit from his DIRECT GRANT as dependents.

If he decides to process for himself alone, meaning he will drop them as migrating dependents (skips medicals) but for them to come over later... he will require below
-Partner visa ( $7000)_14 - 20 months processing time...
-Child visa $2415_

OzyMigrant:

Your friend is lucky, that requirement was recently waived. His wife and kids don’t need to screen for medicals since they won’t be travelling (i.e. not added to his application). However, the dream of joining him in few months might not be realistic, getting dependent visa is not a piece of cake……..they might not even be able to join him years after settling. Best bet for him is to pull resources together and add them to his application right away.

i wouldn't say lucky
The waiver is for non-migrating members (no visa) but since wife and kids will still migrate under the same visa as the husband at a later date (months), medicals and pcc is a must, they must be added to the same application of the principal as at the time of application.

Good morning everyone... Finally I have decided to asses with ACS... For Computer And Network Engineer

I sent someone to my school for my transcript they said it must be addressed to a school

International school is 35k
National is 15k

My question is this... I want to give them a national address to forward the transcript to just to save money

Hope it won't affect me negatively when I want to process visa?

Secondly hope ACS will accept transcript forwarded to a national address. Thanks

National is okay and ACS will accept it.

If i may ask in the eoi form is there not an option of choosing both 189 and 190 visa?and then you can either choose a particular state for nomination or all...i ve been looking tru that form by filling some parts and i ve seen about 1-4 of the pages ...pls can someone explain why we need to send multiple eoi and if theres no penalty?thanks

Yes . you can select 189/190 as shown in the attached.
There is no penalty for mulitple EOI's but once you get desired invite from any of the EOI its good withdraw the others.

Having multiple EOI is to help you maximize your options E.g Just imagine getting a NSW nomination today ... and the next day a 189 nomination, multiple EOI gives you the chance to cancel the 190 and proceed with the 189. but if you received the 190 ITA under same profile, it automatically locks that profile for further ITA and if u decline the ITA, it puts back on the queue after 60 days.

i hope am right though

Ok.. 4 of my mates did Advanced diploma in Electrical Engineering here, they assessed their diploma qualification for electrical engineering draftsperson with EA and never mentioned their degrees. They got positive outcome and nothing about their degree was mentioned in the outcome letter. When filling the EOI, they entered their degree as their highest qualification and got 15 points for it. Specifics: one studied a 4 years course in Unilag, the other 2 studied a 5 yrs course from FUTO and one is french and studied in France. They all got their visa granted and no questions about qualification asked. I hope this answers all your questions?
NNBB2012:

I just double checked this and I found out that you could actually claim points from your highest qualification eventhough is not mentioned in your assessment letter. However, the qualification in question MUST be equivalent to Australian Bachelor degree, as assessed by Vetassess or Case officer referring to CEP

Where did you finish from and how many years?

Take a look at the policy guideline below used by the case officer in decision making.

Decision maker must also have regard to any other claims provided by the applicant that are relevant to the consideration of the qualification.

It is anticipated that, generally, an applicant’s qualification claims will be assessed by the relevant assessing authority for the purpose of that authority issuing a skills assessment. If an assessing authority has provided an opinion on an applicant’s qualification, the applicant should provide this with their visa application, together with any other relevant supporting documentation to support their claims and should include copies of the qualifications and transcripts provided to the assessing authority.

If an applicant may be issued with a suitable skills assessment based only on an assessment of an applicant’s claims of on the job training and skilled employment then, unless the applicant has other qualifications of a recognised standard, they are not eligible for educational factor points.

If an applicant’s highest level educational qualification (including qualification at a doctorate level) is not related to the nominated or closely related occupation, the applicant can have their qualification assessed by VETASSESS as to the comparability of their qualification to Australian standards for the purpose of awarding points. Decision makers must have regard to any opinion provided by VETASSESS on an applicant’s qualification (as this is ‘any other relevant matter’ they must have regard to in determining whether an educational qualification is of a recognised standard, under regulation 2.26AC(5)(d)).

If neither the relevant assessing authority nor VETASSESS has provided an opinion on an applicant’s qualifications, case officers must assess the qualification claims presented by the applicant. In such scenarios case officers should take into consideration any relevant information that is available to them, including information available on Country Education Profiles, advice from AEI - NOOSR and any other relevant evidence provided by the applicant.

Benefits of constructive arguement
Good info from NNBB2012 Lawland
In light of the above information. @zoew @azy123 . The choice is now yours to either take the plunge or not.

There is always a conflicting information on this topic, but from my experience and that of my friends, you can only be denied visa for qualification if your assessing body assessed your highest qualification as not being comparable to AQF bachelors degree and you go ahead and claim 15 points. If your assessing body didn't assess your highest qualification because it is not related to your nominated occupation, you can go ahead and claim points for it as long as it is comparable to the AQF equivalent. Two ways to know this are by going for PTA with Vetasses or by accessing CEP. Vetassess and DIBP use CEP to assess qualification.A CO will never deny you visa straight away if he is not satisfied with the comparability of your qualification to AQF, you will be asked to go for PTA. Like i said, this is from my own personal experience, intensive research when i was in this situation and from my friends after me.

@lawland who certifies the highlighted or is it "Self Evaluation"
please help me shed more light sir
when you say friend experience or your experience.
Did you or your friend claim points using a non assessed degree certificate and you have both gotten Direct Grant Letters.
was you or your friend advised by CO to go for point test?
I believe its not your duty to decisively self evaluate your AQF, its up to the assessing bodies to do this. Example.... @toslad had vetassess deny her degree while IPA or ICAA recognised it.

I suggest you should create separate EOI for 189 and 190 (s).

Finally, after what seems like an eternity I have gotten a positive assessment from ACS for ICT Business Analyst (ANZSCO 261111)
Age - 30
English - 20
Experience - 10
Education - 10
Let me inform the house that this ANZSCO code is very competitive and people with 75 points were not invited last round. Do you think I should get my degree assessed by VETASSESS? How long does it take on average? Or should I wait it out till number for this ANZSCO drops? (How long would that take?) Abi to do state nomination? I am just confused right now.

Hoping for ideas guys. Thanks.

Congratulations zoew. 70pts already grin
IMO, please research very well on the non accessed B.SC degree points claim before you update tour EOI with, while the excitement of boosting your point is welcomed, you do not want to shoot yourself in the leg also by over claiming.
You took the RPL route because your degree was not related to your occupation.
Am not sure how this works but please do your research very well pls pls ... $3600 no be beans oo..

Meanwhile am sure you can shoot for state nominations while waiting for ITA.
also 70points stil guarantees you an invite but longer waiting waiting based on the competitive nature of the NOC
