It really has no inherent value, and since there's no government that pledges to defend it, it will continue to suffer from swings. There are those who make money from trading it, but that's little comfort to somebody who needs to be sure that the #4M they put in it last month will still be there at year's end.

2) Let the governor of Anambra, enforce laws banning Keke from all major roads in the state to save the lives of the citizens and improve sanity in the state. And instead introduce BRT buses in all busy places in Anambra eg Awada and nnewi to ease heavy traffic caused by too many Keke plying Anambra roads.

3) Let the Anambra government as a matter of urgency, regulate the citizens right of selling land in government reserved areas and as a result of this, the governor and the Igwes should map out areas covering not less than 80 percent of the land mass of every town in Anambra as government reserved areas for different purposes eg. future industrial layouts, markets, recreation centers, hospitals etc so as to stop miscreants HYPNOTIZED by traditional JUJU priests and priestesses from ENUGU state from selling the whole Land in Anambra to sworn enemies that will displace our children from our land in the future like they have done in OBA now.

The Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC) has issued a public warning about relying on cryptocurrency transactions. This was done via a press release on the 25th day of July, 2019.

According to the press release, managing director and CEO of NDIC, Umaru Ibrahim. said relying on cryptocurrencies is very risky, because they are unregulated and not backed by central banks in most financial jurisdictions.

The NDIC provides a safety net for depositors and aims to protect the banking system from instability caused by bank runs or loss of confidence.

According to Ripples Nigeria, Umaru Ibrahim had previously talked about his concerns during a courtesy call with the NDIC board and the Speaker of the House of Representatives.

Speaker Femi Gbajabiamila, spoke on eagerness to regulate cryptocurrencies and partake in the emerging global crypto market. He said:

“The NDIC and other safety-net participants in the country must not be left behind in the adoption of appropriate regulatory framework to deal with the prevalence of cryptocurrencies in the global financial space.”

The 17-year-old boy has denied the allegations and said that he didn’t create the app for evil purposes. One person has been found to download the app and he discovered that almost 170 Monacoins which is worth $500, went missing from the wallet.

The Bitcoin price is still falling on Wednesday, September 25th, going below $8500 . As you can imagine, panic selling is also affecting the altcoins, with most currently suffering double digit percentage losses against USD.

Bitcoin started yesterday at $9,692. By 18:35 UTC, the BTC price had fallen 3% to $9,402. Within 30 minutes the BTC price had fallen another 7.76% to $8,672.

Also by 19:46 UTC, BTC-USD had gone below the $8,200 mark, meaning a loss of almost 17% in the preceding 24-hour period.

The last time the BTC price was below $8,200 was June 12th.

The altcoins are also suffering double-digit percentage losses against USD as you can see below:

Ripple has filed a motion to dismiss a lawsuit over it allegedly selling unregistered securities.

In a court document uploaded by Fortune on September 20th, lawyers representing the company against investor Bradley Sostack dismissed the claims against it. Sostack said Ripple’s sales of altcoin XRP in 2013 constituted an unlawful securities offering.

Ripple has denied this but the case has uprooted some concerns over the legality of Ripple’s operations regarding XRP. New concerns are already rising after lawyers’ motion to dismiss failed to address the securities aspect of XRP.

According to a section, “Because of the multiple, independent grounds for dismissing this action, the Court need not resolve whether XRP is a security or currency for purposes of this Motion, which assumes Plaintiff’s allegation that XRP is a security,”

The latest developments have just a little impact on XRP markets with the token continuing to trade over the past 24 hours just under $0.30

Cryptocurrency mining hardware manufacturer Bitmain has announced that it is set to launch a cryptocurrency miner and mining farm matchmaking service.

The service dubbed World Digital Mining Map (WDMM) is set to be announced during the World Digital Mining Summit, which will be happening in Frankfurt on October 8-10. It will allow cryptocurrency miners looking for locations to power their hardware with mining farms with available resources to host them.

Bitmain’s Director of Mining Farm, Matthew Wang, was quoted as saying in the press release:

The WDMM will help make cryptocurrency mining more sustainable in the long-run by connecting mining farms and hardware owners in a whole new way. It is part of our commitment to provide miners with on-going support throughout their hardware’s lifetime and to support the sector’s overall growth.

On the course of the event, mining farm owners will be able to apply to be listed on the WDMM. To be listed they will need to provide details of their mining farm, including how much capacity they have.

When this is done, Bitmain will then provide them with personalized services, which include “connections to foreign customers to host, assistance with mining farm design and support with purchasing, and construction.”

Samsung’s semiconductor business is booming, with the company recently overtaking Intel as the world’s biggest chipmaker. But the South Korean firm is not resting on its laurels, and is currently looking to expand into the buzziest contemporary market for processors: cryptocurrency mining.

As reported by TechCrunch, Samsung has confirmed it’s in the process of making hardware specially designed for mining cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum. A spokesperson for the firm told TechCrunch: “Samsung’s foundry business is currently engaged in the manufacturing of cryptocurrency mining chips. However we are unable to disclose further details regarding our customers.”

These chips are known as ASICs, or application-specific integrated circuits. ASICs are processors that have been specially designed for a single computational task, as opposed to the multi-purpose processors we use in computers and phones.

As the valuation of cryptocurrencies has shot up, so has the demand for these sorts of chips. In the case of bitcoin, the currency is created by solving mathematical problems, with these calculations also maintaining the integrity of bitcoin transactions. As more bitcoins are mined, these math problems become increasingly difficult. This has led to miners moving on from using normal integrated graphics cards, to GPUs designed for gaming, and now to specially built ASICs.

It’s not clear exactly what sort of products Samsung will be making, but according to reports from Korean media, it’ll be working with Taiwanese firm TSMC. The company currently supplies chips for a number of firms set up solely to mine cryptocurrencies, including the China-based Bitmain. Meeting the demand for these chips has added around $350 million to $400 million to its quarterly revenue, says TSMC.

That’s nothing to be sniffed at, but it’s a small sum compared to the $69 billion revenue generated annually by Samsung’s chip business. Mining cryptocurrencies is buzzy, but that doesn’t mean it’ll be extremely profitable for those selling the silicon shovels.

Apple Bans cryptocurrency mining in their iPhones and iPads. The bans is evident in the company’s developer guidelines which they recently updated to outlaw cryptocurrencies “mining” on iOS devices.

Apple’s New Regulations
According to a report by AppleInsider the new rules restrict apps that drain battery, generate excessive heat, or put unnecessary strain on device resources — all of which take place in bitcoin mining.

“Apps, including any third party advertisements displayed within them, may not run unrelated background processes, such as cryptocurrency mining,” Apple says on its website.

It’s unlikely someone could successfully “mine” bitcoin on an iPhone or iPad alone because of the amount of energy and computing power it takes. But Apple’s move could pre-emptively stop future, less energy-intensive digital currencies from being mined on these devices or halt the pooling of multiple devices to accomplish it.

The Iranian government just authorized cryptocurrency mining as an industrial activity.

A report from IIDO on July 29th revealed that the decision was taken this weekend, during a Sunday cabinet session chaired by Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani.

Will Iran Legalize Cryptocurrency ?

With mining now officially authorized, entities engaged in the activity will be required to seek a license from Iran’s Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade.

Mehr News reports that many experts are interpreting the move as being the first step towards the legalization of cryptocurrencies in Iran, as it will help them to dodge United States sanctions which might have contributed to damaging the country's economy.

The decision still noted that using cryptocurrencies for domestic transactions remains outlawed and that those engaged in the industry should bear responsibility for the risks without any guarantees from the government.

Subsidized electricity rates in Iran will make miners from different places to relocate their operations to the country.
