HealthRe: How An Orgasm A Day Can Slash A Man's Cancer Risk by AlphaSoul: 5:02pm On Feb 09, 2021
Rhea:
Men who have regular orgasms - once a day - are less likely to be diagnosed with prostate cancer, a study has found.

Regular ejaculation throughout their lives reduces the risk of the disease, scientists discovered.

The researchers, from Harvard Medical School, said they could not explain why orgasms could lower prostate cancer risk, adding further research is necessary.

However it has previously been suggested that regular orgasms may flush out cancer-causing chemicals in the prostate.
Another theory is that if sperm is regularly cleaned out to allow new cells to develop, it helps stop the build-up of old cells that might be more likely to turn cancerous.

The prostate is a small satsuma-sized gland located between a man's penis and his bladder.

Its main function is to produce a thick white fluid that is mixed with the sperm produced by the testicles, to create semen.

The Harvard study is the largest to date to examine the frequency of ejaculation and related prostate cancer risk.

The researchers found that men in the 40 to 49 age bracket who ejaculate 21 or more times a month reduced their risk of prostate cancer by 22 per cent.

This was compared to men who ejaculate four to seven times a month.

While the researchers said they were unclear as to why ejaculation lowers the chances of prostate cancer, they called the results ‘particularly encouraging'.

The study followed almost 32,000 healthy men for 18 years - 3,839 of whom later were diagnosed with prostate cancer.

Men were asked about their average monthly frequency of ejaculation between the ages of 20 to 29, 40 to 49, and in 1991, the year prior to the questionnaire.

They found that the more frequently a man ejaculated throughout his life, the lower his risk of prostate cancer at all three of these points in time.

This was the case even when they adjusted their results to take factors such as diet, lifestyle and a history of prostate cancer screening into account.

Dr Jennifer Rider, of Harvard Medical School and Brigham and Women’s Hospital, said the results are ‘particularly encouraging’ but should be interpreted with caution.

She said: ‘While these data are the most compelling to date on the potential benefit of ejaculation on prostate cancer development, they are observational data and should be interpreted somewhat cautiously.

‘At the same time, given the lack of modifiable risk factors for prostate cancer, the results of this study are particularly encouraging.’

CrimeRe: My Boyfriend Drugged And Raped Me. by AlphaSoul:
Girl9999:
I created this account to hide my identity. I'm in a very emotional condition at the moment. I've been crying since morning. I've not left my house, not even for church. I've lost the will to live, all because of what happened yesterday evening.

I've been dating this guy for two months. I thought he was a great guy. He was always nice to me, smart and hard-working. I lost my virginity at the age of 18 in University and it was to someone that just wanted to have sex with me. He lied about loving me. All he wanted was sex and when he had his way he abandoned me and dated another girl in my department. Since then I've had a fear of relationships, most importantly of sex. I vowed to only have sex with someone I was going to marry; someone I was certain loved me.

When I met my boyfriend, I thought he was the one. We vibed well and we were both in the same field of work. Everything seemed to click. I opened up to him about my experience and my decision to have sex only when I was ready. He agreed and said he was going to respect my wishes.

Yesterday he visited me at my apartment. This wasn't the first time he was visiting me. We paid each other visits all the time. This time he brought a bottle of wine with him. I prepared food, we both eat and he served us some wine. The last thing I remember is taking few sips and then everything else is blurry.

Next thing I am waking up by 8am this morning with a severe headache, cramped legs and a sore feeling around my vagina. There was something that looked like dried semen on my left thigh and some around my breast. I could also perceive the scent of his perfume on my body. He raped me. The man that claimed to love me raped me. I haven't spoken to anyone since morning, all I've been doing is crying. My phone has been on silent all day.

I want to report him to the police but first I want to look at his face and ask why he would do this to me. I already planned on having sex with him soon. Why couldn't he wait? I want to involve my parents and his parents as well but I don't want this news to spread and take a hit on my reputation. I'm confused about what to do.

Why are men like this? I feel defiled and violated. My mind has been constantly flooded with suicidal thoughts all day. If I make it through this, I'm done with relationships forever.

TravelRe: Nigerian Man Removed From UK Flight Over 'prayer' Message On His Phone by AlphaSoul: 10:14pm On Feb 08, 2021
metronaija:
A British-born Nigerian was removed from an Easyjet flight at Luton airport after a fellow passenger read a message that mentions 'prayer' on his mobile phone and alerted cabin crew, who raised alarm with the police.

Laolu Opebiyi was using WhatsApp to arrange a conference call prayer session with friends, as the Amsterdam-bound flight was waiting to take off at Luton airport on Thursday February 25 when a passenger next to him questioned him about message that included the word 'prayer' asking "What do you mean by prayer?"

The 40-year-old Nigerian-born business analyst from London explained to the passenger that he was preparing to pray with friends. Few minutes later, he was pulled off the flight by two firearms officers. It is thought the man misread the name of Mr Opebiyi's prayer group “ISI men” – which stands for "iron sharpens iron” from a Bible quote – as Isis.

Mr Opebiyi said: "That guy doesn’t know me and within two minutes he’s judging me. Even if I was a Muslim, it was pretty unfair the way I was treated. If we keep on giving into this kind of bigotry and irrational fear, I dare say that the terrorists will have achieved their aim."

Mr Opebiyi was taken into questioning by police and quizzed about his Christian faith and where he attends church. He was forced to hand over his phone and password so officers could check his communication. He was eventually freed and allowed to catch another flight about three hours later.

Seven other passengers reportedly got off the flight fearing a terror threat and also took the next plane, Guardian reports.

A spokeswoman for Bedfordshire Police said: "Officers attended and a passenger was removed from the flight as part of the enquiries. Officers notified easyJet that they were satisfied that there was no concern around the passenger travelling."

A spokeswoman for easyJet who apologised over the incident said: "Easyjet can confirm that following concerns raised by passengers, the captain of flight EZY2151 from Luton to Amsterdam requested the assistance of the authorities who took the decision to disembark and question the passenger. The safety and security of its passengers and crew is our highest priority which means that is a security concern is raised we will always investigate it as a precautionary measure. After questioning by the authorities, the passenger was cleared to complete his journey so easyJet arranged a later easyJet flight for him. We would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused to the passenger"

The officers cleared Mr Opebiyi for flight but the pilot refused to let him on and he was made to wait a further three hours to board the next flight to Amsterdam. He said that he is aftraind that he is on a terrorist watchlist.

"I stand in uncertainty about my freedom of movement in the UK" he said.

I am a carpenter and a furniture maker with some side business when there is no work because I don't like to do JOIN MAN except contract works .
I was on site one day in July 2020 when a guy that looks like one of those yahoo guys approached me that he is looking for labour work. I looked at him from head to toe and told him he can't be a labourer with his expensive looks and chain he has on. then he told me not to be deceived by his looks, that its all packaging. he mentioned construction companies he has worked with before I took his inside to start work.
I told him I pay my guys weekly, labor 2k and skilled labor 3.5k per day but the guy begged me to please pay him daily for this week so that he can have something to hold body and he will plan himself for weekly payment from next week that he has no money on him right now.
he started work and we exchanged contacts. the guy really surprised me with his dedication and seriousness to work.
later at night while browsing on Facebook, a picture popped up among FACEBOOK'S PEOPLE YOU MAY KNOW. the person happens to be the guy, I think Facebook brought his name because I now have his contact on my phone. I went through his profile and realized this guy is fake. he guys to club with guys, takes pictures with hot girls and in big bars and hotel. I also saw pictures of him with 3 or 4 celebrities, maybe he was lucky to run into them in those places. I didn't bother to add him as friend.
next day came and he was already at work before me. I called him with his Facebook name TONY E******S FUNDS. He was shocked and he asked how I got to know his name. that's when we now sat down as friends to talk even though he was way younger than I.
he said those extravagant lifestyle were funded from betting wins or some rich yahoo friends of his but he is not a Yahoo guy but just post those things to feel among. he said SOCIAL MEDIA LIFE IS NOT THE SAME AS REAL LIFE
at that moment I preached to him like a brother and told him to buy carpentry tools and am ready to teach him carpentry and will still be earning his 2k as a laborer till he is good to be called a carpenter. I showed him 2 others guys that are labourers and apprentice at the same time. he showed seriousness immediately and asked that I borrow him one of my hammer till next week when he will be able to afford it but I declined and decided to borrow/dash him 3k to get an hammer, saw, bar and a measuring tape.
5 months later and this guys is doing better than the 2 other apprentice and got an increment. now I even send him to work with some of my friends when I don't have work at hand and stay at home to my manage my small businesses.
also his fake social media life has reduced but not stopped fully because he doesn't even have time to hang out much like before because we sometimes work on Sundays, even today been just second day of the year and we are back on site again.

the reason for this topic is not to feel inferior to others because of the things they post on social and also to share the lesson I learnt from him that SOCIAL MEDIA LIFE IS NOT THE SAME AS REAL LIFE.

CelebritiesRe: Craig Mack Passes On by AlphaSoul: 2:11pm On Feb 07, 2021
GavelSlam:
http://www.bbc.com/news/entertainment-arts-43384017

13 March 2018 Entertainment & Arts

Rapper Craig Mack has died at the age of 46, according to US reports.

The hip-hop star rose to fame in 1994 with the hit single Flava In Ya Ear, and was the first artist to release an album on P Diddy's Bad Boy Records.

After splitting with Diddy, he released a second album, Operation: Get Down, but eventually left music and devoted his life to religion.

LL Cool J, Funkmaster Flex and DJ Scratch were among those paying tribute to the star.

"I just got a disturbing phone call. I cannot believe this dude is gone," said Scratch on Instagram .

"He just reached out a couple of weeks ago for me to speak on his documentary about his life.

"Craig was my roadie on tour. He would set up & break down my turntables every night... Rest In Peace Lil Bro."

"Rest in power Craig," tweeted LL Cool J. "It was a pleasure to know you & rock with you. You stepped away from the game & did it your way. I always respected that."

According to the New York Daily News , Mack died of heart failure in hospital near his home in South Carolina on Monday.

Hailing from Brentwood, Long Island, he cut his first single while still a teenager, under the name MC EZ.

After it failed to make an impact, he worked as an assistant to local hip-hop heroes EPMD. They introduced him to Sean "Puffy" Combs - now known as P Diddy - who put him on a remix of Mary J Blige's You Don't Have To Worry in 1992.

Impressed with his contribution, Combs offered him a recording contract and released Mack's laid-back debut album, Project: Funk da World, in 1994.

The success of the album was propelled by Flava In Ya Ear - especially the remix, which featured verses from Notorious BIG, LL Cool J and Busta Rhymes.

The single was certified platinum and nominated for a Grammy the following year, while the follow-up single, Get Down, went gold.

Warning: Third party content may contain adverts
However, Mack soon parted ways with Bad Boy Records - allegedly because of tense relations with Combs' fellow protege Notorious BIG - and his subsequent releases failed break the top 40.

After his second album, he largely retreated from the public eye and in 2012 was filmed at a church service denouncing the "wickedness" of his former life.

He returned to music last year, releasing the 18-track Mack World Sessions album.

EPMD's Erick Sermon said Mack had been working on new material at the time of his death.

"I'm devastated over the news of Craig Mack," he wrote on Twitter. "We just finishing up his new album... Rest in Power Craig."

"God bless my friend," added Alvin Toney, an executive producer on Project: Funk Da World.

Toney told the New York Daily News he had seen Mack in South Carolina last week.

"He was prepared for whatever comes, to go home to the Lord," he said. "He was prepared to do that. He wasn't scared. He was ready."
Oh bruv!

"Craig Mack, 1000 degrees..."

I miss this MC from Long
island, NY.

Peace.
PoliticsRe: GEJ Laid Foundation For Banditry, Fulani Group, paid Them – Northern Leader by AlphaSoul: 2:01pm On Feb 07, 2021
DasaintHope:
The NYLF Chairman alleged that the
former President in 2014 paid the group
N300 million with which they purchased
most of their firearms.
The Chairman of the Northern Youth Leaders
Forum, Rev Elliot Afiso, has claimed that former
President Goodluck Jonathan laid the foundation
for the festering insecurity, banditry and killings
in the country by sponsoring a Fulani group
known as "Miyetti Allah Kautal Horre."
The NYLF Chairman alleged that the former
President in 2014 paid the group N300 million
with which they purchased most of their
firearms.
ex-President Goodluck Jonathan
In an interview with SaharaReporters, Afiso
noted that President Muhammadu Buhari had
been caged and was no longer in charge of the
government.
He said, "One thing that I want Nigerians to
know is that it was in 2014 that banditry started
in earnest. This is because, that was when the
then President, Goodluck Jonathan, reneged on
a gentleman agreement of not seeking a second
term. He lobbied the Miyetti Allah Cattle
Breeders Association and the Northern Elders
Forum, but they refused.
"But because he was desperate, he mobilised
some people who create "Miyetti Allah Kautal
Horre", and he also created the Northern Elders
Council, to rival those groups that refused to
endorse his reelection ambition.
"Recall that he received Miyetti Allah Kautal
Horre at the presidential villa and gave them
N300,000,000 to gain their support.
Unfortunately, Miyetti Allah Kautal Horre used
the money to acquire arms.
"Don't forget that he was dealing with Fulani
people whose cattle have been rustled by Boko
Haram terrorists, so they were also desperate
to regain their means of livelihood.
"Having acquired firearms with Jonathan's gift,
they found kidnapping and banditry to be a
lucrative business. Also, with a polarised elite
group, the bandits began to enjoy the support of
some Northern elders.
"When you have a one-on-one interaction with
some of the arrested kidnappers, they tell you
sometimes that they get as little as N5,000
share from a ransom because there's a big boss
somewhere."
When asked if the current regime of President
Muhammadu Buhari was capable of tackling the
menace, Elliot replied, "Let me say without the
fear of contradiction, the Buhari we knew is not
the Buhari we now have.
"This is because this Buhari has been caged.
The Buhari we knew would not allow any
security challenge to last beyond 24 hours.
Recall the other time; the President said he was
not even aware that the Inspector General of
Police didn't follow his orders to relocate to
Benue State."
The northern and southern parts of the country
had been gripped in the paw of banditry and
kidnapping for ransoms for years under Buhari.
The situation seems to be worsening, with the
latest episode being the abduction of more than
600 schoolboys in a boarding Secondary School
in Kankara, Katsina State.

You’ll love this beautiful island that far removed from the hustle and bustle of Lagos. Tarkwa Bay Beach, unlike most public beaches in Lagos, isn’t often noisy or overcrowded. This makes it a great place for some alone time with your significant other or perhaps a fun day out with your friends.

CareerRe: Entrepreneurs Are Ruining Morales Of Employees by AlphaSoul: 10:47am On Feb 07, 2021
mymoney001:
The plethora of small business owners/entrepreneurs are the ruin and end of the morale of their employees..

Talmbout the increase of unemployment and I'll point you to these miniscule bosses who have the knack of under-paying and or owing their employees salaries with no benefits like trainings, pension, health insurance, salary increase, leave bonus, overtime pay.....etc

These set of people will blame buhari for the dilapidated state of the economy yet they won't fold up their business since they cannot afford to pay regular salaries and on time.

They will assign you to do an elephant-size job only for you to earn an ant-size salary, in which your ant-size salary won't be paid till the 15th - 20th of the next month, yet they expect you to be dazzling and be happy and perform effectively These bunch of cheats make you feel that they are doing you a huge favour by paying you your right (salary) so that you should put on a grateful attitude and be positive.

You will work and grind like a mule for them, only for them to use the money and pay the fees of their kids they've stashed in an abroad versity... The nonsense they expect you to tolerate and endure from them simply because there are few jobs and unemployment is high, they won't encourage their kids to such. They train/teach their kids to always demand for their rights but if you demand for your rights lasan, you'll get sacked or seen as being disrespectful.

But with a peanut salary without employment benefits, how can you even plan your life, grow and develop yourself and live modestly? You can even be on the same paltry sum for the next 3-5ive years, yet no promotion, no increase.

Out of frustration, a lot of people have left their salary behind in their previous employment(s) and thunder is still keeping silent. Their bosses haven't even felt a pinch of guilt.

We have faulted politicians for the many woes and chaos bedeviling and crippling the peace of the state but It is not only politicians that are ripping the economy of Nigeria apart, these ones are also depleting Nigeria. They are the saboteurs of the growth and dreams of aspiring youths.

But their children are safely tucked away & secured in a system that works. They are studying abroad and will barge an abroad certificate which is highly relevant and consequential.

If the leaders abroad didn't have a growth mindset to develop their system and make it workable, tell me where these dream killers would have shipped their child(ren) to?

I doubt if we have labour laws in Nigeria that protects the rights of employees and jail employers/sole proprietor/entrepreneurs who cheat their staff of their hard earn wages and benefits....because if we do, a lot of small business owners would have gone into oblivion.

Laslas na *God dey* na im be poor man hope/slant. Na im we dey take control ourself when we lose out...

PS: nobody should come here and nye nye about how people should goan become their own boss/entrepreneur...
Before you make such foolish comment thinking that you are wise, let this sink in: everyone won't be business owners because not everyone can stand and survive it's nitty-gritty, not everyone have business acumen, some people are better off in this life working as employees and will be successful at it; while some other people need to gain that experience first before they can venture out...

Our heads and journey/pathway in life are not the same.

FamilyRe: 4 Money Problems In Nigerian Marriages To Avoid by AlphaSoul: 10:25am On Feb 07, 2021
Opinionated:
A lot of people have been married for years but still find it very difficult to get their finances in order.

This might be due to various reasons such as the famous, ‘your money is our money and my money is my money’ that most Nigerian ladies not just say, but usually adhere to when they get married, and other problems that would be explained in this post.

Money problems in marriage are pretty much expected, but they’re easy to avoid at the same time if you can avoid these 4 financial problems in marriage.

Not sharing expenses

This is one of the major money problems a lot of marriages experience in Nigeria. Despite the fact that a lot of young people now have access to information that is relevant to financial independence, a lot of women still assume the husband should bare most if not all the expenses.

However, splitting the financial responsibility to an equal 50/50 is not realistic because women have expenses that men will never have to worry about. At the same time both partners rarely make the same income.

Therefore, a better approach would be to look at the overall expenses and income of the family, and then come up with a budget that works for both partners. Paying for all the expenses by one partner might come with good intentions from the start, but after a while it would create tension and pressure.

Keeping money secrets

It is no brainer that keeping money secret is not healthy for any relationship. Not only would it ruin the trust, it could also lead to resentment from the offended partner.

This does not just apply to keeping secrets about some extra cash you have somewhere, it also includes not letting your partner know you have loan to be paid, if you have one. It might seem embarrassing but it’s the right thing to do. That way you would be able to figure out a better and easier repayment plan which might include your partner helping you pay some of it and vice versa.

You should also let your partner know your credit score, as this would help both of you when you want to apply for a loan together for a new home or other heavy purchase.

Leaving one partner to manage the money

In a lot of Nigerian marriages, one partner manages the money and that is usually the husband and recently the wife. This is fine when that is done because the partner managing the money is better at money management, but that does not mean you should leave the entire money
decision and management to just your partner. Sometime s budgeting and keeping records of expenses can be overwhelming, so you need to work together to ease the stress. Also, anything can happen to the partner who manages the money, would you be fine financially without your partner?

You might not know the full details of how every Naira is spent, but at the very least, you should know how to access your money in the event of an emergency.

Not budgeting properly

As stated earlier about splitting expenses, having a budget in place will help you figure out how to manage the family expenses. Write down all of your income and expenses, once you have all this info, you can decide how the expenses will be split. Don’t forget to budget savings e.g. travel, and short-term major purchases for a car or a home.

Also, be prepared to review and change your budget when the need arises like when you get a raise, or an addition to the family. When such changes happen try and see how you can save more or where you can cut expenses depending on what the situation is at the time.

However, if you realize that you and your partner are not good at managing money, you should visit a financial institution for financial advice on how to manage your money. In most cases, getting financial advice is free.

Finally, note that marriage and money are never easy but can be quite satisfying when you have it clearly stated out and in control through proper planning and consistent efforts towards your financial freedom as a couple.

Waiting for Ghana to do same because we have thousands if not million of indigenous Yoruba there too.

Foreign AffairsRe: Yoruba Becomes Second Official Language In Benin Republic by AlphaSoul: 3:34am On Feb 07, 2021
Tundeobama:
Benin Republic has recognised the
Yoruba language as second official
language in the country. Nigeria’s
Ambassador to Benin, Dr Lawrence
Obisakin, who disclosed this , also said
that Dendi another indigenous Nigeria
Language was also been recognised
alongside Yoruba by the Beninoise
Government, underscoring the affinity
between the two countries. The Nigerian
envoy explained that based on the
recognition, the Federal Government has
recently donated Yoruba Language books
to the Government of Benin.
“At the fifth session of Nigeria-Benin
Bilateral Joint Commission when you
have multi-party, multifarious and inter-
ministerial meetings and we were able to
sign and renew eight agreements
including educational agreements.
“Just a week ago, Nigerian Government
gave Yoruba books to the government of
Benin to support the recognition of the
language.
“We have two languages recognised,
Yoruba and Dendi languages have been
recognised here as national languages,”
he said.
According to him, even the President of
Benin said 70 to 80 per cent of the
people are of Nigerian origin.
“From the south, you have the Egun,
both in Porto Novo and Badagry. When
you go northward, you begin to find the
Yoruba people.
“You have also the Bariba people; you
have the Batonu who we call the Borgu
people. You have the Dendi people; you
have the people that speak Fulani and
Hausa.”
Obisakin also explained that Nigeria and
Benin Republic have had so many things
in common right from the pre-colonial
era. He said that historically, Nigeria and
Benin were one and the same people
adding, Nigerian empires had governed
almost all parts of Benin before the
colonial separation.
“Republic of Benin is a country that
shares about 778 kilometres of border,
and is about the country that has the
most densely populated frontiers with
Nigeria.
“Benin is a country that has produced
the first official border at Idi-Iroko, the
country that has the most lucrative
border with Nigeria, Seme, where about
6,000 people cross per day.
“If not for the colonial separation, where
you are standing now Cotonou use to be
part of Oyo Empire and the capital was
Oyo-Ile up to the shores of Ghana and
the Northern part of this country (Benin)
used to be Borgu Empire.
“When I came here, there were only four
industries that were exporting but today,
there are 28 and more.
“This is one of our negotiations and we
thank God for that, a lot has been
achieved.”
Bariba and Batonu refers to
the same ethnic group. Kperogi
is from that ethnicity.

Porto Novo or Ajase is a
Yoruba city.

We’ve been dating for sometime. He stays in Norway I live in Nigeria. He’s 38 I’m 21. We’ve never lived together even when he was in Nigeria for a visit. Now he’s saying I should leave everything and everyone I know and come live with him in Norway forever. Just like that. Do you think it’s a good idea? He’s a bit controlling and authoritative. Always like to be right and never agreed he’s wrong. The last time I wanted to start a business. He refused to help me saying I will leave him if my business goes well.
What business or career path
is he into?

What people like you don't know is the market is fluid and just like water, it must find its level or its way.

Patriotism doesn't build an economy or market. Policies and approach to business does. All you wrote is just hogwash. I apologize.

How many ordinary people trading on the stock market have made a profit? Matter if fact, stocks we bought since 2007 have not even yielded their capital because of the scam and in-trading going on in the NSE.

You treat people like shlt, they flourish and you're trying to stifle them? It won't even work.

You also raised a point about keeping your money in the bank so they can round trip, and "boost the economy" Lol.

These banks make money off you, while you remain poor; this is not putting hyper inflation which has come to be today into consideration.

An example is this. Sometimes in 2020, I ran about ₦30M through my account. Do you know for the months my funds were there, FCMB were stealing from me? Yes literally stealing because the arbitrary charges they were collecting weren't even reflecting in my account statement and they didn’t even send notifications for them.

In all, the CBN made a wrong call and they will lose more because

1. THEY CAN'T BAN BITCOINS.

2. Nigeria was just beginning to be a global hub for fintech. That's gone now.

3. Jobs will be affected and you know the funny thing, this does not even affect the peer to peer bitcoin exchange industry in Nigeria. It's the exchanges who were creating jobs this policy affects not bitcoins per se.

Also if history has thought them nothing, they should know Nigerian youths are very good innovators and this is just a speck of stone thrown at a behemoth wall. I currently have over 1,000 BTC in my wallet as we speak and I'm not even moved one bit!
