Lol at the bolded. I choose the 3si because I wanted to match my IG and email handles. While the later had been taken in 2si, the former was available. So I thought why not match all on 3si.

Meanwhile, Milares is a kitchen ran by my uncle who resides in Ireland. He is a great cook and extremely gifted with food ingredients. I was just helping him push it in naija before ni. Believe me, I cook Ikokore well without eating it.... you know all the condiments go into the prepping before the grated yam goes in. I just find water yam and cocoyam weird. Would rather just use cocoyam as a soup thickener and avoid water yam completely. Geskia.
A-ha! Sisioge... The mystery of the "3si" has been solved after all these years.

Oh, I thought Milares was based in
Lagos. So it's in Ireland... I get it.

Some of the top restaurants are run by Nigerian men.

Buka 1 and Buka 2 in the U.S. are owned by a Nigerian man of Yoruba descent and his outlets were voted the fastest growing restaurants in the U.S. before 2020. When he first relocated from the
UK to the U.S., he got funding from the U.S. Government and that's how he became big in America.

Last but not least, I believe you can cook that dish... no doubt. Funnily, I read within the last 3 years of an
Ijebu guy (who is a professional) who said he doesn't like Ikokore and he gave the exact quirky reason of physical appearance.

I've learned something from you about the way the human mind works.

I've had fun chatting with you and would love to chat with you some other time.

I just came across this post on Facebook and decided to share here in other to get more information from our Abroad based nairalanders.

Nigerian Guys in diaspora is this true? And why?

I just need you guys to elaborate more on this if it's true.

Why should Nigeria ladies be avoided abroad??
If you're clearly intentional in seeking out any woman who has emotional intelligence among your pool of female friends, then marry her when you find her, and she'll give you near-absolute peace of mind. This applies to all Diasporan Nigerian women and non-Nigerian women.

To be the better man for any woman, a man has to learn the specifics of emotional
intelligence as well then define what you want and place a value on yourself based on self-respect. Without these aspects, a man will experience punishing lessons down the road from women be they Black, White or Brown. No doubt!

When you get to the U.S., UK, or Canada, relate discretionarily with everyone and learn about the eclectic mix of cultures but you must socialize with discretion with
Nigerians in the Diaspora to hit the ground running.

The Indians, Chinese, Jewish, Russian, Norwegian, and Irish Diasporans help one another. Why should anyone here encourage new Nigerian immigrants not to mix with the rest of
the Nigerian Diaspora? That's a knee-jerk advice.

I can't speak for itel but Oraimo has warranties on their products. And it's legit. I remember one particular thread on this forum where they swapped a faulty powerbank for a user.
@Mohbola,

That's awesome. It's good to know that Oraimo offers legit warranties on powerbanks and more.

1. Where's the official Oraimo store or
outlet in Lagos located?

2. What's the price of the new Oraimo
Anifast powerbank model(s)?

Some manufacturers do not seem to realise that by offering firm warranties, they can literally increase the sales of their products and/or services, leaving a slew of satisfied customers who then recommend the products to others by word-of-mouth.

Nice feedback so far.

lol that 20k fine has staggered elder men. i saw this guy yesterday at the place and we got to chatting. i would say he is in his late fifties. from anambra state ( he spent the first 20 minutes of the conversation singing the virtues of peter obi lol. he said peter obi opened up all the road network in his state and that right now there are 4 road networks leading to his village. so apparently there are many peter obi achievements that are not being discussed that we need to look into ) but yeah so the man told me he got the text for a 20000 fine for expired road worthiness and that he will never pay it. i said you know if you dont intend to pay it then you are wasting your time here because they would make sure you pay it before they issue you a new one. the man just japa after i told him that grin grin grin grin that man is determined not to part with that 20000 and i dont blame him grin grin
@Sukkot,

Over 50% of people from that man's state live outside Anambra as economic migrants. Second, further data shows that 80% of
Ibos living in Lagos are from
Anambra.

The dude should pay up the money for the infraction committed in
Lagos State and stop singing the praises of his former Governor's old glory. He can japa all he wants but can't hide. The law is the law and will be enforced! Lol.

Would he refuse to pay if he is in
Anambra? That would amount to undermining Anambra.

Yeah, earlier you posted about the bad road leading to the MOT centre which I assume is in the Lekki-Ajah axis. This can be remedied by using the more durable concrete in road construction and stop the use of asphalt because that area is below the sea level and the water table is high and salty, so the roads get pot-holes very quickly.

pozehnani:
Now, not trying to argue with you. In fact Amala and semo flour can also be used to make similar snacks but the original flour used for making this delicasy is cornflour hence the name cornsticks or "kokoro". Not garri sticks. So what you made is your own version of the original snacks.
FoodRe: Crispy Kokoro Recipe by AlphaTaikun: 11:45pm On Sep 20, 2022
TigerFoods:
This yummy and exceptionally fresh tidbit is from the Western part of Nigeria. It is a famous delicacy made with cornflour, garri and a few ingredients. It is one of the simple Naija snacks that takes you through a ride of fond memories. In those days, we always anticipate eating this delicious corn stick during the school's break time. On most occasions, you join the queue waiting to buy Kokoro from the street hawker. The good news is you can prepare this snack at the solace of your home with your friends and family. It is a mouth-watery snack everyone anticipates each time someone decides to prepare it at home. Let make it happen right away.

Ingredients
Cornmeal/cornflour
Garri
Sugar
Tiger Chilli pepper
Tiger Ginger Powder
Pinch of salt
1 cup water
Oil for deep frying

Gather your ingredients

In a small bowl, add all the ingredients, mix thoroughly and set aside.

Pour half cup of water into a pot, leave to boil and then add the mixed cornmeal. Afterwards, stir until you get a stretchy mix that looks just like Eba.

Place the mixed cornmeal in a big bowl, cover and leave to cool completely.

When it is cooled, add the remaining cornmeal and knead until smooth.

Take a small quantity and roll it in between your palm. You can also roll it on a flat table to get a long shape. Thin sticks make crispier kokoro. Repeat this process for the remaining dough.

Heat your cooking oil in a pan, add the rolled sticks one at a time. Then fry until light or golden brown.

Afterwards, remove the hot Kokoro and place it on a paper towel to absorb excess oil.

Serve and enjoy with a chilled can of Tiger Ginger Health Drink.

FoodRe: How To Make Avocado Oil At Home by AlphaTaikun: 10:02pm On Sep 20, 2022
Veriongroup:
These days, buying avocado oil is quite expensive. There are many uses of avocado – skin treatments, cooking, etc. But how can you get and use avocado oil if it is so expensive? The perfect solution is to buy avocados and extract avocado oil by yourself! Don’t know how to make avocado oil? We are here to help you out.

There are three most common ways of extracting avocado oil at home: –

Sieving dried avocados; –
Using a press; –
Cooking avocado.

How to extract oil from avocado through cooking
You will need twelve avocados again. Peel them the same way as we did in the previous option. Use the blender or your food processor to make the avocado pure.

1. When you’ve done all the mentioned steps, it is time to start some cooking. Take your blended puree and put it into a pot. Put the pot on a stove and turn the heat on “medium”.

2. Don’t forget to stir the avocados. You should do this every five minutes.

Note:
The avocado will start to boil. You will notice that there will be oils on the top of the mixture. Don’t worry and don’t try to get the oils right away.

3. Cook and stir the mixture until it’s dark green or brown. You will also notice that the water has evaporated.

4. The next steps are the same as in the previous option – take a clean, thin cloth and put the avocado mix into the cloth. Make it like a sack, put a bowl under it and squeeze the oils into the bowl. Then pour them into a bottle and eventually clarify the oil.

Other methods are discussed here

PhonesRe: Is That Capacity On Your Powerbank True Or False? by AlphaTaikun: 7:38pm On Sep 20, 2022
atheistandproud:
A Powerbank is a portable battery backup device that is designed to supply electrical power to charge small electrical devices. These include smartphones, wireless Bluetooth speakers, LED lights etc. There are Powerbanks that are even capable of charging laptops these days.

There are so many misconceptions and myths about powerbanks that this author can spend a whole day debunking. But we do not have all day.

How do powerbanks work?

A powerbank is essentially a battery with a circuit board that is designed to charge other devices. Every good powerbank should have a circuit board with a chip that can intelligently monitor the battery, ensure safe charging and modify or cut off power supply if need be.

Every powerbank that uses wired charging conforms to the USB 5V standard. The batteries inside a powerbank have a standard voltage of 3.7V. When a device is plugged to a powerbank, the current is stepped up from 3.7V to 4.2V - 5V. This stepped up current is then delivered to the device being charged.

Powerbank capacity

Due to this conversion of battery voltage from 3.7V to 5V, a good amount of electrical power is lost, mostly as heat. As a result, powerbanks cannot deliver their full advertised capacity. Powerbank manufacturers advertise the capacity of their batteries when it is stored at 3.7V. When checking a powerbank’s capacity, it could be written as 30,000mAh at 3.7V or 18,000mAh at 5V.

When 3.7V is converted to between 4.2 – 5V, the amount of current that the powerbank can deliver falls drastically. There is a very simple formula to convert this.

Actual capacity = Advertised capacity (mAh) x 3.7V x 0.8 ÷ 4.2V

For a 20,000mAh
Actual capacity = 20,000 x 3.7 x 0.8 ÷ 4.2V
Actual capacity = 59200 ÷ 4.2
Actual capacity = 14,000mAh approx.

If you cannot remember this formula, then always remember this. A powerbank can only deliver approximately two-thirds (2/3) of the advertised capacity. This means that a 5,000mAh would deliver approximately (5,000 x 2/3=) 3,400mAh. A 10,000mAh would give approximately (10,000 x 2/3 =) 6,700mAh. A 30,000mAh can give out 20,000mAh approximately.

How much charge can a powerbank actually give

Now that we have seen how powerbank capacity is being calculated, how much charge a powerbank gives out, especially to a phone is not an exact science. If a phone is used while being charged, work done could be equal to zero. If the phone was left alone or even switched off, then the powerbank would accurately charge its battery properly. The age of the powerbank and its charge capacity is also another factor to look at. Powerbanks tend to lose capacity as they age. A 2 year old, 20,000mAh powerbank may only have 10,000mAh left.

Do powerbanks destroy phone batteries?

Yes and no. A good powerbank has no negative effect on your battery. It should come with a good circuit board to ensure safe and quality charging. A bad powerbank on the other hand would destroy your battery. This is why it is important to buy powerbanks from reputable brands instead of cheap generic brands from roadside vendors.

How to choose a good powerbank

The first step is to always do research. A lot of people are too lazy these days to do research. Read reviews and learn to distinguish between real and paid reviews. Manufacturer’s brand name and reputation matter a lot here as well. Names like Anker, Aukey, Romoss, Xiaomi etc. should come to mind.

Check the powerbank’s specs (input, output, capacity etc.) as well. If a spec looks too good to be true, it probably is. Someone once showed me a 100,000mAh powerbank. I laughed it off and said it was a scam. The bigger the capacity, the heavier the powerbank. Always do your research before splashing your cash.

https://inquisitiveuniverse.com/2021/05/12/powerbanks/
Very insightful.

Sugar (200g)
Eggs (3 big)
Fully ripe Bananas (3 medium)
Vanilla flavour (2 teaspoon)

Wow! I just got back online and saw this uplifting feedback.

Thanks @Sukkot for the ginger/apple cider vinegar combo remedy. I'll give it a try as soon as I get the dry ginger. Coincidentally there's apple cidar vinegar in the refrigerator.

That lupus really battered SEAL's face while he was still living in England and struggling to make it in his career as an Architect before finally making it in the international music space.

Oh it's great you got the connect for the MOT. Keep us updated when you're through with the process on a new thread or something so that we can rate the Lagos State program.

Thanks again!

P.S. I'll quote you now on the double rainbow event in London with reference to the late Queen.

oh yeah the mot is done quickly its just that they have few centers and they say the queue can be crazy and thereiin lies the problem. although to be honest with you i have been driving with the expired mot for a whole year and havent had a problem. its just an article that i read about cameras giving tickets that is prompting me to renew it. but ermmm i guess the key is to just keep my driving local. dont step out of the area. lol.

oh trust me bro the queen was directly involved. just in the fifties or sixties tey had the maumau revolution in kenya supervised by the queen all the leaders were killed. and all the exploitation of africa by britain hasnt stopped so yeah she is complicit. she enjoyed the loot and supervised the looting. the looting was under her watch. so what was it you were taking the calamine lotion for if you dont mind sharing bro ? are you in naija ?
Stay or "drive locally" within Lekki. Lol

But seriously if that is the case they have to create more MOT centres to save folks from stress.

I have lived for slightly over two-thirds of the late Queen's total reign of 70 years and she had a gentle demeanor and connected with the commoners. I'll use her gentle character to access her. I agree totally with you about the colonial-era atrocities such as the
Mau Mau of Kenya resistance and more, but that is the nature of the planet. I do not want to carry bad energy and hate like some ethnic bigots are doing spreading fake news about what the Queen didn't do.

SEAL, the British-Nigerian Grammy award winner of Lagos Island parentage had lupus which led to the scars on his face.

So, I first had flu symptoms which segued into rapid lupus-like breakouts on my body above the knee to my face, but I was able to quickly nip the spread with the right
medication and because it tallied with the info I had read online back in the day. I am still resting but will be better by Wednesday so I can get back to work.

My body has to be brought back to an alkaline state from the acidic state which causes illnesses. I'm guilty of loving sugary stuff like cold apple and pineapple drinks (pina colada) sometimes and this is a wake up call to slow down at my age and go for full detoxification and colon cleansing.
