candidtalk: Lagos is overcrowded. What you describe , i.e festive periods of decongestion, would be optimally good if it can be permanent. Lagos has a population estimated to be 23 million today in the smallest State in Nigeria.
Population of Greater Accra is 5.4 million and Nigerians love it there because it is feels better organised, more spacious, more sane, cleaner overall, far less traffic and far less congested overall.
Population of Johannesburg is 6 million.
Population of Nairobi is 5.1 million.
Population of London is 9.4 million.
These are all regarded as exemplary cities to different extents.
To be sane and as great as she can be, the optimal population of Lagos should be 9 to 10 million.
We are sentimental and prejudiced in Nigeria and rarely apply pragmatic logic or science to our thinking and is why that you can speak as if the overpopulation of Lagos by Igbos, from a region relatively far away from Lagos, is a good thing.
It is counter-productive migration in the long term and leaders of Lagos now accept this statistically-backed and researched reality.
If Igbos leave, Lagos would be better in the long run. That is a town-planning, aesthetic, infrastructural and socio-economic fact. |

johntolu: Yeebos are paying a price for the greed and myopic leadership of Azikiwe and his cohorts during Nigeria's agitation for independence.
While chief Awolowo advocated for regional autonomy of the 3 Regions and insertion of secession clause during the1954 constitutional confrence, Sir Ahmadu Bello was emphatic with his 'North for North', advocacy.
It was only the parasitic Yeebos and their leadership, that advocated for 'One Nigeria' and actually labeled other Nigerians, as 'tribalists', for their informed and sagacious opinions.
The treachery of Azikiwe and his contemporaries against other Nigerians, during Nigeria's agitation for independence, is the price Yeebos are paying today.
My opposition to secession-Zik Sunday, June 25, 2017 8:28 pm
By Nnamdi Azikiwe
When the 1954 constitution conference started, my good friend, Chief Obafemi Awolowo tabled a motion to the effect that in the new constitution, provision should be made that any state which feels like seceding should do so. I was opposed to it and said ‘no’ and said that once we have a federation, we are indivisible and perpetual.
That was when we began to use that expression – ‘The Indivisibility and perpetuity of the federation’ – and that to secede would amount to treason. And so, a debate ensued.
The Secretary of State then was Oliver Littleton, later Lord Chandos and he was very much interested and that was his first time in saying that the people of African descent were people actually debating at a high level.
So a full day was given to Chief Awolowo to make his points. He spoke brilliantly as a lawyer. He made his points why secession should be incorporated in the constitution. He cited the case of the Soviet Union which is a federation, and that secession is written there so that any state in the Soviet Union can secede at will. He also cited the case of Western Australia and eventually he finished his case and was applauded.
Lord Chandos said that on the face of the arguments before him it would be suicidal to incorporate secession in our constitution and that is why we have section 86 in our constitution that if any region or state should secede, then it will be an act of treason
We adjourned. The next day, I had to reply. I availed myself of the opportunity to, well, demolish the arguments of my friend and I cited the case of United States which based its constitution on that of the Swiss Confederation. That is Switzerland.
I pointed out a case, I think, that of Texas versus White, where Mr. Salmon Chase, the Chief Justice laid down the principle – he was really an arbiter – that the union was intended to be perpetual and indivisible and that any attempt to divide the union by secession was treasonable.
The North (NPC) supported Action Group.
The question was then: Should we have secession? The Colonial Office came to our rescue. You know, the usual principle of Britain – ‘divide and rule’ (laughs) but this time, it was in our favour. So, the colonial office backed us.
Lord Chandos said that on the face of the arguments before him it would be suicidal to incorporate secession in our constitution and that is why we have section 86 in our constitution that if any region or state should secede, then it will be an act of treason and that was what led to this war, because Col. Ojukwu seceded and so violated the constitution.

Presegs: This image is real, and this is exactly what most people do buy. They often rush approval to buy a car by its APPEARANCE instead of its HISTORY. In the end, they buy a "coffin" instead of a car without knowing. That is the main reason you need an organisation like Autos and Cartalk to help you inspect, confirm, verify, etc., that car/vehicle before you pay for it and take it home.

step1: Causes of Awori Migrations
Awori migration to coastal Yorubaland especially to the region of Lagos state was induced by political, economic, social and spiritual factors. These factors could be discussed under the sociological “Push” and “pull” factors of migration.
Ife Migrations The most common important migrations from Ile-Ife ever recorded from the period of Oduduwa dynasty was the one associated with the dispersal Oduduwa’s children. Akinjogbin and Ayandele (1980) recorded: When Oduduwa was old and blind, his children were called together and ordered to go and found their own kingdoms and each was given a royal symbol. During this period, Ile-Ife was hit by a prolonged drought which lasted for many years, causing faming and diseases. Finally Agirilogbon, a babalawo of Oke-Itase in Ile-Ife, counseled emigration. According to tradition, the children went northwards and southwards. Those who went south eastwards finally settled at Ado, Owo and Benin. In addition, some of the migrants had a change of rulers in their new homes. The date of this emigration is still a subject of academic controversy. However, it is clear that it was not later than 11th century A.D. It is also difficult to know how many kingdoms resulted from this exercise. As new kingdoms grew out of the old ones, descent from Oduduwa became the test of legitimacy among the old new kingdoms. From this period of Oduduwa, migrations out of Ile-Ife became a permanent feature of the kingdom, Migrations also took place during the reign of Ooni Luwo who was a female ruler. Luwo was considered a disciplinarian and her rulership did not go down well with the people which led to migration. Also, the success of Lajamisan, a rich Ife bead trader to the Ooniship created political crisis which was some migrations. In addition, the deposition of Ogboru, a descendant of Lajamisan, who was barnish to Ife Odan for reigning too long but more probably for cruelty, led to emigration. Migrations southwards continued till the end of 19th century. These early southward migrant were the founders of Ife-Awori settlements in Lagos state. Early migrations to the region of Lagos were political and economic in nature. For instance, Ogunfunminire the founder of Isheri and most other migrants from Ile-Ife were farmers. It was in the course of hunting expedition that some of them finally journeyed to Lagos. But the fact that some of the migrants were not alone but in groups, suggests political organizations which could be explained in terms of inland internal political crisis and population pressure. Before migrating to Isheri, Ogunfunminire consulted Ifa oracle which counseled migration. One of the traditions suggests that Ogunfunminir and his friend Adeyemi Onikoyi left their homes on a hunting expedition and overstayed, thereby absenting themselves from the funeral of their father. Their relation thinking them dead, put their junior brother on the throne and this annoyed the two powerful princes, when they arrived. However, they were afraid of the great damage they might cause if they decided to fight, hence Olofin took the calabash which was willed to him by his late father. The tradition continued that he followed the movement of the ritual pot placed on water until it sank and they settled in the region. Another tradition pointed out that Adeyemi Aole Onikoyi of Lagos, was given in the will of their father, a crown of beads, Ifa oracle Olokun deity, Awo Opa, Osugbo, and the gods of his father Lakaba. On getting to Isheri, Adeyemi consulted Olokun the goddess of the ocean, which counseled another migration for him, and he moved until he got to Ikoyi. He passed through Okepa, Moba and Ajiran, he finally named his settlement Ikoyi after Ikoyi Ile in Igbeti, it would appear that it was political disorder that led to the migration of these people. The Benin soldiers soon bombarded the Isheri settlement. One account suggests that the Olofin was once captured and taken to Benin before he was later sent back only to his Benin resistance. Until the arrival of Aseru, a Benin warrior who made social alliance with Ashipa from Ijebu-Ibefun that should he die, his corpse should be taken back to Benin. Asipa did this to the pleasures of Oba of Benin, who presented him with keresimesi –tophat, cowries, beads and a woman. Before the arrival Ashipa Ogunfunminire had moved to Iddo and shared the lagoon islands with his children. Ashipa and his sons Ado and Gabaro settled in Isheri, iddo, isale Eko. Gabaro eventually accepted the children of Ogunfunminire such as Aromire, Oluwa, Onisiwo, Ojoro, Oloto, Onitana, Olumegbon and his friends Onikoyi, Oniru, and Elegusi. The marriage of Ashipa with a Beninwoman and the settlement of other Benin warriors laid a permanent Benin imprint on the character of Lagos. The history of ‘push’ factor in the migrations of the Yoruba – southwards and the Awori to the region of modern day Lagos state is of antiquity. Rather than succumb to hostile neighbours and insurmountable natural forces the earlier settler to choose to migrate from their usual homes to new areas. One of the recorded Oluwo-nla (Obanikoro) traditions of origin relates that Oluwo nla migrated from Benin after causing some damages until Oba of Benin recalled him home. The Porto-Novo colonies founded by Benin warriors were threw asunder by hostile and more powerful aggressors hence, the people migrated to the region of Ologe lagoon and sea shore sides, and never to return to their original homes that were threatened by Dahomean invations, as to return home would be to risk their lives and properties, and to voluntarily send themselves to servidtude in the hands of the Egun and Aja. Thus, having been forcibly displaced from home, the new settlers were forced to seek an area which offered a natural protection and restively peaceful. Undoubtedly, the existence of numerous creeks, swamps, lagoons, Island and exposure to the forest zone and sea, offered them the needed protection. These migrations could be called ‘forced’ or ‘impelled’ migrations as the only logical choice opened to the migrants was to leave. This voluntary or induced migration is accounted for by the existence of many early Awori village settlements some of which are now town settlements. In the relationship between Ojo and Iba, Ojo tradition has it that Iba people were ejected from their early settlement near Ojo.
Also voluntary movements of adventurous pioneers and dissident individuals through interaction with former homes led to chains of migration among the Lagos State Awori. This was often the result of strong attractions to an area as might partly be exerted by letters in recent times, signs and symbols or messages in the earlier period to friends and relatives back home. The economic advantage of the land occupied by the Awori of Lagos in terms of fishes, crabs, moluscs, coconuts, adequate rainfall and conducive temperature, accessibility through inland water ways became a pull factor in later migrations among the Awori. Awori country in general is made up of countries of varieties of Awori sub-groups. Some of which have no direct migratory history with Ile-Ife and whose sentimental attachment to Oduduwa and Awori cultural values is a product of cultural adaptation and secondary affinity. The bulk of the Awori kingdoms in Lagos State are products of mixed breed as they considerably intermarried with the Egun, Ilaje, Egba, Brazilian, Sierra Leoneans and other groups. Some of the Awori communities are product of many layers of migrations, while affinal relationship, need for political independence and prosperity in economic activities often induced most of the migrations. In the early migrations, opportunities for game, the relative peace of coastal region at the period when political antagonism and social disorder basseted the interior Yorubaland, the way out for the Awori that were looking for peace and security was to escape to Lagos. Also, barrier to island for example, Lagos Ido and Topo provided suitable and easy defensive sites for the early growth of settlements. The surrounding creeks and swamps of Lagos lagoon offered natural protection for peace loving migrants and criminal escaping from justice. In the era of trans-Atlantic slave trade, it served as a viable depot for Awori slave dealers and raiders. In the 20th century, the pull effect of the city life and the push effects of the rural life sustained migrations of not only the Awori but Egun, Ilaje, Ikale, Edo, Ibo, Hausa, Fulani, Egba, etc. to Lagos state which is the smallest and the most densely populated state in Nigeria. Migrations of the Awori and other groups to the coastal Yorubaland produced a complex cultural values for instance, when migrants of diverse cultural backgrounds are assimilated into a new society they also contribute to the dominant culture like Bini and the Awori-Yoruba in Lagos and Ogun depended on the migrants ability to adjust and on the receiving society’s degree of socialization process. The movement of the Ijo, Ikale, Ilaje, Bini, Awori, Egun, Oyo-Yoruba, Ijebu and Egba at different times to settle in the region of Lagos state produced cultural diffusion and partly accounted for a variant of Yoruba uniform culture among most Ijebu and Awori settlements of Lagos State. For instance, the institution of Obaship and palace organization, festivals and ritual practices are common among the Awori kingdoms while the Bini insignia or political materials feature among some Awori kingdoms. Also, migrants from Ife, Benin or other Yoruba towns of the hinterland carried beaded crowns, white cap and keresimesi as well as other paraphernalia of office to their new homes while others imported these materials after they have acquired political authority in their new abode. It is difficult to date in absolute term when migration first began towards the region of Lagos State. For instance, the Awori settlement in some communities constitute the final phase of series of settlements that were earlier made in the process of migration from the interior. Iba people for instance, settled in other two places within the same geographical area before finally settling down in their present abode. Literature show that the earliest migrations might have been around the 15th century A.D. It should be noted that centralized socio-political organization in coastal Yorubaland started with the arrival of the Awori and later Ijebu sub group, while the early movement of Ijo, Ijale and Bini fishermen were predatory in nature. This political centralization was not totally devoid of Benin influence. The overall Awori and Ijebu cultures today is an amalgam of cultures. The heterogencity of origins of Lagos State aboriginal inhabitants and the influence of migrants such as the Ilaje, Ikaje, Ijo, Edo, Egba and later Ibo, Hausa, Kita, Sierra Leonians, Brazilians, Cubans, and Europeans has partly led to the erroneous idea of Lagos description as “no man’s land.’ Whatever be the extent of external influence, no authentic or adequate history of Lagos State can be written reference to the Awori, Ijebu and Ogu (Egun).

Maybe you've been together a while and are considering taking a big step, or perhaps you just started seeing one another and aren't sure if you should stay the course.
Whatever your situation, a check-in is never a bad thing. Read on for 20 tough questions to ask about your relationships before moving forward.
1. Is for better or worse making me better or worse? Does your partner encourage you to be your best self, or does he or she get intimidated by any triumphs and feel more secure when you're not putting your best foot forward?
2. Do we really accept one another? There will always be things you want to change about the people in your life, but no one should be in a situation where they feel they aren't allowed to be authentic and accepted as the unique, special (yet flawed) person they are.
3. Who am I? How can you know if your partner is a good match if you have no idea who you are?
4. Am I happy to be in this relationship? The idea of sharing a life together is not to find someone to complete you or make you happy. But let's face it: being unhappy at home can seep into other areas of your life . . . and fast. If you're always fighting or just generally not feeling great about your twosome, it doesn't mean you have to bail out (counseling might be a good option) but marrying someone in the hope that it changes things is a bad, bad idea.
5. Am I feeling trapped? Do you really want to be in this relationship the majority of the time or do you find yourself wishing for a way out? Do you stay because you've invested time or are you really invested in your mate?
6. What am I doing to hold us back? Maybe you could be more attentive, more thoughtful, quicker to let things go, or the first to bring up going to counseling. Whatever it is, take this as your sign to step up.
7. Is this relationship balanced? Do you feel you're both on the same page in terms of compromise, care, support and sacrifice? Or is one of you doing most of the giving while the other just sits with their hand out?
8. Can we have fun together? Have you ever seen two people sit across from one another in silence at brunch as though they are being forced to walk through their day together? Not. fun.
9. Can we have fun apart? Co-dependency ain't cute, y'all.
10. Why am I in this relationship? Is it because you respect, love, trust, and value the person you are with? Or because you're afraid of being alone, worried about finances, or have built a life you're scared to leave?
11. Where is this going? Living in the "now" is great, but eventually the partnership will need a plan or someone will begin to feel anxious.
12. Do I really trust my partner? For some, the immediate response to this can be devastating. If you're one of them, it's time to ask why and how you can begin to build or rebuild trust. Without it, there's no chance.
13. Am I with a good person? Knowing what you know about your partner today, would you vouch for them if they were a friend?
14. Am I attracted to my partner? Physical attraction is hardly the most important component in a relationship, but forcing yourself to be in a relationship with someone who you're not attracted to — just because it's comfortable or "perfect on paper" isn't fair to anyone. You will feel resentful and they will feel rejected.
15. Am I a parent or a partner? Taking care of someone you love is a great thing to do, but when you feel like you're raising a boyfriend — or worse, a husband — things get a little complicated. You'll resent his childish ways. Who wants to sleep with their mom?
16. Does my partner have my back? Do you feel like you're a part of a loyal team who stands up for one another, supports one another, and shows a united front (even when the other is not around)? Or, do you feel like you're constantly being thrown under the bus by your mate?
17. Are we looking in the same direction? Some couples avoid having the big talks (religion, marriage, babies) because they think that, somehow, these things will just "work themselves out." By the time they realize they won't, they're in a complicated, painful situation that leaves one (or both) feeling a little bit duped.
18. Are we growing together? Being a human being living on this earth, we all have a right to grow and develop, and create a full life for ourselves. Are you and your partner still indulging in your passions (individual and shared) and growing as individuals?
19. Am I still me? Being in love with someone should not require changing our identity to fit someone else's idea of who we should be, on any level.
20. What is my gut telling me? You have intuition for a reason. Listen to yourself.

Family › Re: 12 People To Be Weary Of If You Are Looking For A Wife Or Husband by AlphaTaikun: 1:44pm On Sep 23, 2022 |
Mintayo: This is Long but i think its worth the read. 1. Those who can never say, “Sorry”- they would hurt you, annoy you, disappoint you, but would never apologize because they believe that it will demean or belittle them. When you are wrong or right, you apologize to them hoping that they would change but they never do. You start feeling irritated. The love and respect you have for them start to wear away. 2. Those who can never say “Thank You”.-whatever you do for them, they are never grateful. “Why should I say thank you when you are just doing your duty?”. Some will say their gratitude is in the heart. Such an attitude causes irritation, frustration and unhappiness such people believe that the world owe them a lot, they are difficult to please. 3. Those who have excessive libido or inadequate libido- sexual intercourse is essential in a marriage but when you have a spouse that wants it for breakfast, lunch and supper, it is difficult to have any peace in the family. Infidelity also knocks at the door. Also, when you have a spouse that hates sex or think sex should be had just once in a year, there is a challenge in the family and infidelity is always a challenge. 4. Men who think that women are to be seen but not heard.- this is 18th century mentality. It is true that marriage is not a zone for feminist crusade, but if a man has an archaic views about women, and then please avoid him like an Ebola patient. Watch out for statement like this, “How can an ordinary woman want to be the CEO”. 5. Women who think they don’t need men in their lives- such women believe they are self-sufficient in all things. They have the i-don’t-give-a-damn attitude. Men feel ill at ease when they are with women who don’t allow room in their lives for a man to fill. Such women find it difficult to express love; they fly quarrels easily which creates frustration and suffering. 6. Men who are looking for housemaids and not wives: they have archaic idea of what the role of a wife is. They believe that women are only meant to cook, clean the house, bear children and serve the men. They believe that when men talk, that women must just obey. The men can keep mistresses but the women should keep quiet and not seen greeting men. A woman should not work, should not go out and neither complain whatever the man does to her. 7. Those who can never trust anybody: they believe that everyone is a dangerous enemy that has evil design against them, they have obsession with fear of people especially their spouse, once a spouse can never be trusted, there can never be joy in the family. 8. Those who have no respect for others: people can mouth love but without respect, there can never be happiness in a home. Women who love to prove a point by insulting their husband or men who believe in treating their wives without dignity in the name of cutting their spouse to size, such people make terrible marriage partners. 9. Women who see all men as competition that must not be given an inch: Marriage is not a place for activism. Women that see a man as a competition rather than a complement is a dangerous person to marry. When a man has to contend with a woman every minute, when a man is always too conscious of what to say or to do to his wife, then there is a problem. 10. Those who cannot control their temper: hot tempered people are dangerous; they can utter anything in anger, and do things that they will regret for life. They can put you in trouble. 11. Those who cannot forgive: forgiveness makes us superhuman; there are those who cannot forgive no matter the situation. Not only can they not forgive, they cannot also forget, hence, revenge is what they usually think of. 12. Those who have not been weaned by their parents: age has little to do with marriage. These set of people make poor marriage partners. They are full of” “Mummy said”, “Daddy said”. They take every family discussion to their parents, they cannot do anything unless their parent approve. They allow their parents to run their home in the name of showing respects to their in-laws. They make marriage tasteless, a constant source of sadness and frustration.
In summary, marriage is not a bed of roses, there is nobody without some faults or idiosyncrasies. However, it is foolhardy to walk into landmines with one eyes open, praying and hoping that the explosives will not go off. To avoid heartaches, neither blind love nor desperation to get married should push anyone to jump into a marriage with someone that will cause nothing but pain, sadness and sorrow. Happy New Year |

salvageautosca: Hi,
Would anyone be interested in buying salvage cars from Canada? They are mostly theft recovery, minor and major accident cars with "LOW" mileage.
As you all know, it is a wiser idea to buy a new car than fix cars in US or Canada. So there are SEVERAL cars listed on a daily basis with people not wanting to buy because of the bashed parts.
I am located in Canada and able to bid, inspect, buy, and ship it to Nigeria where it can be fixed for cheap and used personally or resold. Choice is the buyer's.
I will post samples in next post
If you are interested in this golden opportunity, comment or send me a DM.
Serious people only. I will ignore time wasters.
Thank you.. |

1stGenAmerican: If a person commutes to and from work, he can earn $30 or more a day just by offering a ride share to the city from the suburbs and back without even going out of his way.
He can also do Amazon flex, Ubereats, or DoorDash for 2 hours a day while only working one job. I tip my food delivery guys well so one customer can easily tip them $10 or more. How's it going hon? Dayum... Your "internal radar" is a quirky "money detector." Lol. That's one of the reasons why I want to make you my very "loooooong-term" Special Adviser on "personal lifestyle, legal, and money management"... Pro bono. So yeah, just as you've said in your second to the last post on this thread, saving is not an obsession or is a challenge for some folks in the U.S. (and even globally). But then it's NOT just about having regular daily savings alone, folks should be investing what they've saved because hyper-inflation erodes the value of what you've saved in the banks. Investing in financial assets whose ROIs far exceed the rate of inflation in any country is key here. 1stGenAmerican... Expect some confidential email convos from me soon. Ciao.

Emotionss: I have had some crazy sexual encounters with some of the most innocent looking women in today's society that I am 100% sure both their boyfriends and eventual husbands will never get to experience Such with same women.
As I Rule I don't do married women. Suprisenly, the number of Green lights, Sexual fantasie chats And Nude pictures that comes my way on a daily basis from married women (in most cases they usually hide their marital status) has inforced my beliefs that Most married men know absolutely nothing about the sexual nature of their supposed Good wifes and it also validates my suspicion that most married women are using marriage to cover up their whoring enterprise....
Back in the days women used virginity, fidelity and feminine characteristics to bargain for a man's commitment.
But this day's, it is we the men that are willingly offering our commitments (some even their birth right) to women for something as pathetic as validation from a woman even when sex ( not to talk of virginity ) is not guaranteed.
We sold our rights, dignity And Authority in the name of being civilized and Woke. |

Oh shut up and get lost. Professional finger pointer. Armchair critic.

The UK you mentioned. Here is a list of their top mining firms. They are all privately owned. Glencore, etc.

USA top mining firms are all privately owned too:

Capitalist nations figured out long ago that industrialisation is a private-sector led process, and that govt run enterprises are inherently inefficient in comparison. The trend has been to privatize industries for decades now, not the opposite as you are demanding. So instead of talking rubbish about communist ''Russia, China..'', stop waiting for govt to wipe your ass and spoon-feed you, and go out there and start your own Glencore or Amazon or Tesla or Twitter or Facebook like your mates are doing the world over. Politics › Re: Tesla To Mine Nigerian Lithium. Buhari Says They MUST Build Battery Factory 1st. by AlphaTaikun: 7:16pm On Sep 22, 2022 |
Quintopia: Tesla and other Multinational Firms are Rushing in and Desperate To Mine Nigerian Lithium.
Buhari Says NOT Unless You Build Battery Factory Here First.
Tesla has been told it needs to double down on value addition before Nigeria will allow lithium mining. Nigeria's minister of mines is now on a mission to Australia to find lithium miners who better align with Nigerian industrial policy.
In August, Nigeria’s minister of mines and steel development, Olamilekan Adegbite, said the country had rejected Tesla Inc’s request to mine lithium, unless the company were to situate a battery-making factory in the West African nation.
He said this is to retain value along the global processing chain of lithium.
Lithium is expected to triple in demand by 2040, according to the World Bank. The price of a tonne of lithium jumped from about $6,000 in 2020 to over $78,000 in 2022.
“As for lithium, it doesn’t necessarily mean investors must produce batteries here before they can mine, but some form of industrial processing of the ore is required,” he says.....
Australian options
Although not yet public, The Africa Report has learnt that the minister of mines is currently in Australia for talks with the Australian Battery Institute. This, say ministry sources, is to show that they are ready to collaborate with countries or investors whose corporate and commercial objectives align with the ministry’s.
Australia (40,000 tonnes), Chile (20,600 tonnes) and China (14,000 tonnes) are the largest lithium miners in the world, having mined 86% of global lithium in 2020.
“Our job is to formulate policy and communicate the government’s position, but we don’t sit idly as you can see with what we are currently doing in Australia. We are optimistic,” the ministry source tells The Africa Report.
Lithium exploration and processing, if well managed, has a rich value chain that can build industries, create jobs, boost government revenue or foreign exchange and grow the economy, the government says. The federal government has identified the ore as one of the seven strategic minerals of the future...
Beyond these benefits, the government says the policy on lithium and other strategic minerals will build and sustain a pipeline of knowledge and skills. It is expected that Nigerians studying mineral processing abroad or those who learn from expatriates can transfer their skills to others, fuelling future innovation to develop the country.
“With the opportunities provided by the African Continental Free Trade Agreement [AfCFTA], Nigeria can become an emerging exporter of premium quality refined minerals to the other parts of Africa,” Chinyere Almona, the director general of the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry, says.

1stGenAmerican: Absolutely!
Love the pictures you included. Throwbacks, right! *Leading 1stGenAmerican back into the convo* Thanks "mi corazon." Yeah, that's a throwback from the late 1970s of 4 Nigerians living and studying in California during the Nigerian oil-boom era. The taller fair-skinned guy in the picture is the Nigerian Senator Ben Murray-Bruce who founded the Silverbird Group located on Victoria Island in Lagos State (He later got married to an African-American woman. She passed on about 3 years ago from cancer). Ben was into entertainment promotion and he brought in a lot of top American musicians such as "Shalamar" to perform in Lagos in the 1980s to the 1990s. I'm sure even your father would know him if he was still based in Nigeria in the 1980s before coming to the U.S. and would be delighted to see the throwback pics. Lol.Ben's paternal grandfather was a White man from Scotland who lived in Nigeria during the British colonial era, while the maternal lineage is from Nigeria. So he is a Scottish-Nigerian (i.e., a Nigerian citizen with Scottish paternal ancestry). The other fair-skinned man in the picture is Lloyd Weaver the movie producer and entertainment icon who passed on early in 2022. The 2 Nigerian women in the fantastic color picture are their friends back in California... So my point is that Diasporan Nigerians even in the 1970s interacted and socialized with one another for the good of all. Talk to you soon. Photo Credits: Ben Murray-Bruce

mrjojo: Note: I will strongly advise against buying followers if you are going to be marketing products later. Buying followers will give you irrational activities, imagine you have 200k followers and you are having only 5 comments and 100likes on your posts because most of the followers are not interested in your content if half are not even bots. Organically grow the followers, it always pays off
- you need to harness the power of hashtags # start by posting like 10 posts, with the following hashtags #foodie #foodporn #africanfoodnetwork #yummy #naijafood #mykitchen #icook #nigerianfood #nigeria #africafoods #trending etc - this will give organic followers say 5-6 daily or more if you post more
- Go to the food section, there is a very active thread " cook in your kitchen and post " start posting very nice meals made by the owner of the account and put the link to your Instagram under your posts this should add some followers if you are consistent.
- follow this handles @tundeednut @instablog9ja @sisijemimah @naijafoods @shola.jay @ifys.kitchen @foodace , now when this guys post , go to there comment section and say something reasonable and funny about the post and end it with "learn to make the most delicious egusi ever, if e no sweet gimme slap" or something like that. Always post something reasonable to the post o else you it will be considered spamming
- go on twitter and jump on the trending bandwagon, register on twitter, post nice meal pictures, in the caption add the trending words, as of now these are trending "#bobrisky,Mercy Tacha #BBNaija FUCA"
Caption your pictures like this " Forget bobrisky, Mercy, Tacha #BBnaija, Egusi soup that touches the soul, licking of screen is allowed" put your Instagram link below too.
- Pay Instagram influencer, you can pay Tundeednut (80k ) instablog9ja(90k) and other pages to do an ad post for you, this doesn't always bring many followers, doesn't justify the price You can also pay instagram skit makers(comedians) to make short skits about your product page, prices range from 70k to like 500k if not more @maraji_ been the most expensive.
- Buy an Instagram page with followers already, there are markets where you can buy pages with 50K and above follower, note: most are hacked pages and also most will not be interested in your content
Lastly, to buy Instagram followers, register on fiveer.com, you will see a lot of people offering this for as low as 20$. it not always easy but when done right , it will be worth it . Goodluck |
Business › Re: Massmart Looses In Nigeria, Sells Its Games Discount World Stores by AlphaTaikun: 12:37pm On Sep 22, 2022 |
BrandSpurNG: Given currency volatility regarding its business and falling consumer demands, South African retail giant Massmart has sold its Games Discount World stores in Nigeria.
Brand Spur Nigeria gathered that the assets were sold to the controlling shareholder of PricePointe Wholesale Club, an organization that operates a wholesale store in Lagos.
The value of the deal is unknown, but Massmart will make it the second exit by a South African company in less than two years, following the sale of Shoprite’s Nigerian subsidiary.
Massmart has been adjusting operations across Africa amid reported interest from American retail giant Walmart in the last few months.
Massmart Chief Executive Mitch Slape also recently said that the company is reviewing its store portfolio outside of Southern Africa as part of a turnaround plan to stabilize the business.
The review has now resulted in the disposal of 14 stores across Ghana, Nigeria, Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania, Itznews reports. BusinessDay reports that Slape told investors that the performance and the complexity of running those businesses is something that needed to be addressed.
He added, “We’ve commenced a formal sales process, we’re currently in discussions with potential purchasers to take on those stores.”
PricePoint takes over Game stores After a 12-month period of evaluation and engagement with numerous parties, the sale of the Games Discount World stores in Nigeria to PricePointe Wholesale Club was completed.

kennethokey15: My name is Gift and I just got married three months ago but I am already fed up because my husband’s manhood is so big I suffer tear every time we make love.
I know many women will read this with a pinch of the salt while others, like some of my friends, will say I should be lucky that my husband is so endowed and can satisfy me in bed.
But it is not about sexual satisfaction here, it is about the pain I go through during sex.
I grew up in a strict home where our parents monitored us and any discussion of the opposite sex was seriously frowned at. I did not have a boyfriend until I was in my third year in the university and even at that, I never had sex till my youth service, at 25, and it was not a pleasant experience.
After the first time, I had sex not more than five more times before I met Joseph who later became my husband. I met him during a seminar I attended in Port Harcourt and was swept off my feet at first glance.
Since he was based in Abuja, we managed to maintain a long distance relationship and only got to see each other whenever he came to Lagos, which was not often.
Our first night together was quite horrible but he reasoned that it was because I had not been exposed. He told me never to worry, as I would get used to it with time.
We managed to cope till we got married and that was when my nightmare started. Sex with my husband has been hellish and I always dread such moments. We have tried lubricants to make me wet but it seems my tight private part is not just made for him.
We are both living like strangers and I dare say it is just a matter of time before the marriage crumbles.
What do I do to make my marriage work?
Gift.

festacman: Queen Elizabeth II like all us was not a saint. Like all of us, she lived with her foibles, interests, vocation, circumstances as well as with her strengths and weaknesses. Like all of us mortals would do, she has lived her life given her circumstances and passed on in death. May her soul rest in peace. Amen.
History is beautiful because it teaches about the past in the present in order to enlighten, inspire and guide a surer march into the future. Nobody should be a slave to history. No mind deserve to be beclouded by history. Only fools would willingly relish being held down, as victims, in the the prison of historical events, which should ordinarily be a springboard to rising above the circumstances that made that event possible. It is criminal for anyone to hide under the cloak of history to plant the seed of hatred in the malleable mind of young people in this age when the world is becoming a global village with opportunities available physically and virtually.
As out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks, imagine what the woman who wished her perceived enemy Elizabeth II an excruciating pain in death would do as a MONARCH to her enemies who are perceived to go against her interests and authority. The kind of excruciating pain she would order and administer to them. With her kind of heart, she will sure be worse the late Queen Elizabeth.
Interestingly, she stays comfortably in the house of her tolerant enemy to wish excruciating pain in death to her perceived arch-enemy who is the strongest ally of her tolerant enemy. I hope she ends well. Words on marble. |

Fancygurl23: Hi. I started having big breasts even before I clocked 16. They kept getting bigger and bigger as I aged. I'm 23 now and my breasts are bigger than I want them to be.
My breasts get in the way of the lifestyle I want to live. As a young child I always wanted to be an athlete but my big breasts became a hindrance.
I also have an interest in modeling cos I'm tall but my big breasts prevent me from wearing most dresses. Even wearing normal dresses are a problem for me. Breasts are always shooting out making me appear slutty when I don't want to be.
And then there is the unnecessary attention. Men always starring at me like I was an alien. I want to be approached because I'm beautiful and smart, not because I have big boobs
I hate my boobs and I want to reduce them. I inquired about surgery but the payment is in the range of over a million naira. I don't have such money.
Is there any local herb or something I can eat or drink to reduce my breasts? Are there medications I can take?
Please this is a serious question and I had to create a new account for it cos I don't want people trolling me with my main account. @Fancygurl23, Are you having any back aches? If you have any back pain at just 23 years of age, then that would require some sense of urgency. |

1stGenAmerican: Not speaking for all but the reason why some Nigerian marriages struggle abroad is because one or both partners refuse to let go of certain aspects of Nigerian culture that might make sense and work in Nigeria but makes no sense and doesn’t work abroad.
Not everyone willfully abandons their culture but being in a new place kills tunnel vision and people begin realizing that some things in their culture are toxic and need to be stopped. Nicely put... You get an XO for that. |
