Igbofam: Information from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“As a result of inflicting fire damage on the enemy, the commander of the 8th Combined Arms Army of the Southern Military District of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, Lieutenant General Andrei Mordvichev, was destroyed,” the report says. Aleksey Arestovich, adviser to the head of the President’s Office said that General Mordvichev was destroyed as a result of an attack by the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the airfield in Chernobaevka near Nikolaev.
According to preliminary data, as a result of this strike, the advanced command post of the 8th Combined Arms Army of the southern military district of the Russian Federation was destroyed. This direction was responsible for ORDLO.
As reported, on March 15, soldiers of the Azov regiment of the National Guard of Ukraine, defending Mariupol from Russian troops, eliminated Major General of the RF Armed Forces. The regiment published photographs of the general’s body with a shoulder strap, a chevron and icons that did not help him.
Earlier, Ukrainian defenders liquidated a Russian Major General Vitaly Gerasimov, Chief of Staff and First Deputy Commander of the 41st Army of the Central Military District of Russia. According to the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense, he received a medal “on the return of Crimea”, participated in the second Chechen war, the Russian military operation in Syria.
On March 11, Ukrainian soldiers killed the commander of the 29th Army of the Eastern Military District of the Russian Federation Major General Andrey Kolesnikov.
The identity of the Major-General of the RF Armed Forces, who was destroyed on March 15 by soldiers of the Azov National Guard Regiment in Mariupol, has been established. It turned out to be commander of the 150th motorized rifle division Oleg Mityaev.
The Ukrainian Defense Forces liquidated the commander of the 331st parachute regiment of the Russian Airborne Forces Colonel Sergei Sukharev. In 2014, he was the commander of the battalion-tactical group of the same regiment, which shot down columns of Ukrainian soldiers near Ilovaisk.

They will tell you they learnt programming in 6 months with YouTube.. And they are gurus now... Lol
You think YouTube learning vs someone who has a masters degree in Computer science, and started with a two years programming course/Certification are on the same level?
You can start with YouTube, but make sure you get certifications, and be good at your niche.
I am a Senior Recruiter based out of Nigeria, and most of my U.S clients require a minimum of Bachelors Degree in Computer science for entry level positions.
Most Indians and Asian I have hired in the U.S have a Masters degree in computer science, that is one of the edges they have over YouTube developers.
There is no way I will hire someone who learnt through YouTube alone, over someone with Bachelors degree, two years programming certification at a reputable institution. No way. Deep insights. |

Crayfish09: My sister if you want to see a lot of sales, (as in 2-6 sales ), you must charge within that range. Even #200 is a no-go area. If you want to build your name then you have to make your books free. That's the only way to get a lot of readers on Okadabooks.
I advise you publish your book on your website or Amazon because even if you make something on Okadabooks, you will only be a slave to them. At the end of the day, they will get EVERYTHING you have earned unless you miraculously reach their 10k limit. People deserve to be paid fairly for their creative works. It's good you folks have got alternative options for publishing your works. Way to go! 1 Like 2 Shares |
Literature › Re: Don't Fall Into The Trap Of Okadabooks! by AlphaTaikun: 4:29pm On Mar 19, 2022 |
Crayfish09: Dear authors, I know that majority of us want to have our works read while making a few bucks in the process. That is a fair deal but on Okadabooks, there is no such thing as making money. Before I go on to explain, let me tell you how other book publishing platforms like KDP, Smashwords and Draft2digital work.
On these platforms, they have millions of readers surfing their sites and hunting for books. You can literally make a lot of money without spending a dime on ads as long as your cover, description and keywords are good enough. In exchange for giving you the opportunity for using their platforms, they take 30% of your sales as their share (on average). Ladies and gentlemen, if you make #100,000 on a site without adverts and they take #30,000 out if it, I believe it is fair. Also, if you make just ten naira on these websites, they will give you your 7 naira at the end of the month.
Now let's look at Okadabooks. Go and hire the best graphics designer for your book cover, use the catchiest title and buy an editor for your book, you will make a whopping one thousand Naira if you are very very lucky. And that one thousand Naira usually doesn't come from their so-called 300,000 readers. You have to go to facebook, IG, twitter, etc to get your customers, take them to Okadabooks (thereby bringing new customers to Okadabooks) and then dash them 30% of your earnings (the same cut mega sites like Amazon charge) while their so-called 300,000 customers look almost exclusively for free books.
Now, you may think this is still somehow fair but here is the issue: Okadabooks will say that you must make up to 10,000 Naira before you can withdraw (in contrast to other sites that pay you no matter what you earn). Now, 10k is not a very big amount of money but on Okadabooks, it is extremely a herculean task. Everything that you make before you reach that #10,000 goes into Okadabooks bank account (in addition to their 30% cut). They only pay you If you reach their 10k limit.
Now let me tell you what the trick is. When you consistently publish books for months and months without even reaching five thousand naira, you will get tired and give up. Once you give up, Okadabooks gets to keep everything that you have earned while you go home with nothing.
Why am I writing this? It's because I have been a victim and I know so many other victims too even here on nairaland.
I have been regularly publishing since November and even under pricing books (#50-100) just to attract readers but the truth is, there are very few readers on Okadabooks. I had to get my own readers. From November to July, I have not made up to 4k. I never had issues with this but this is what broke my patience;
Fidelity bank kept my 20k after a failed transaction two days before Sallah. Broke and hopeless, I decided to appeal to Okadabooks to give me even if it is just 2k so that I will not go penniless on Sallah day. These people simply ignored my messages. Till date, fidelity bank is yet to give me back my money and Okadabooks is still ignoring my pleas.
I have decided to give up on the site (Of course, they will buy suya with the 3.5k I made from their 300,000 ghost readers) but please, if you are not willing to advertise or write free books then stay away from these leeches . You won't make much from them and the little you make will go into their bank account while you go home with nothing. I have a friend that has 50 books (including novels) with them but he still hasn't crossed 8k on the site. Wooh! This is insightful. I don't write for a living but I'm an avid reader of functional and topical books. I've written for the Web from as far back as 2001, so I know that generating original content is key. This doesn't come easy because of writer's block, so I can feel your sense of disgust here. The guys at Okadabooks have to change their business model ASAP and adopt the global standard for the benefit of all. It is unkind that the so-called Web traffic on their site isn't converting to real monetisation for the authors, and when it does, authors can't withdraw unless they reach a reach a minimum threshold... SMH. Cheers. 1 Like 1 Share |

3. The Millionaire Fastlane – Crack the Code to Wealth and Live Rich for a Lifetime by MJ DeMarco
Is the financial plan of mediocrity — a dream-stealing, soul-sucking dogma known as “The Slowlane” your plan for creating wealth? You know how it goes; it sounds a lil something like this:
“Go to school, get a good job, save 10% of your paycheck, buy a used car, cancel the movie channels, quit drinking expensive Starbucks mocha lattes, save and penny-pinch your life away, trust your life-savings to the stock market, and one day, when you are oh, say, 65 years old, you can retire rich.”
Demand the Fastlane, an alternative road-to-wealth; one that actually ignites dreams and creates millionaires young, not old. Change lanes and find your explosive wealth accelerator. Hit the Fastlane, crack the code to wealth, and find out how to live rich for a lifetime...... Read more at: www.developyoutoo.
4. The Millionaire Next Door – The Surprising Secrets of America’s Wealth by Thomas J. Stanley and William D. Danko ..... Read more at: www.developyoutoo.
5. Wisdom for Winners, A Millionaire Mindset by Jim Stovall ..... Read more at: www.developyoutoo.
You can get all these 5 books here: www.developyoutoo. Awesome list. I've read some of these books (#2, #3 and #4) from back in the day, and they work because they are based on universal principles. Thomas J. Stanley's other book entitled, The Millionaire Mind is a must read for anyone and in my top 10 books on financial education that I've read since the 1990s. Books enable you to shorten the learning curve, and you also have an elevated view of the battlefield. |
Investment › Re: 5 Books To Read If You Want To Be Rich by AlphaTaikun: 1:25pm On Mar 19, 2022 |
talkingmoneyng: The cynics amongst you will be asking, "You couldn't possibly have read all these books?" Well, yes, I have. Some of them more than once. The next obvious question would then be, "Well, are you rich?" The answer I would give is, "Not as much as I will be". If there is one sentence that I can use to sum up what I have learnt from reading these books and many others, it's that getting rich is a process and absolutely anybody can use the process to get rich. In fact, thinking deeper about the teachings of these authors, I have come to the conclusion that nobody has any business being poor. There is a guaranteed formula to getting rich and that is, "Spend less than you earn every month and invest the difference." If you spend less than you earn and invest the difference consistently over your career, you will be a millionaire; guaranteed! Don't believe me, then click on this link to an online investment calculator and punch in some numbers assuming a conservative interest rate of 10% per annum. By the way, a 10% interest rate is close to the lower end of returns you can get from any financial instrument in Nigeria if you decide to play it safe. There are instruments that can return over 100% (legally) in one year if your risk appetite is higher. The wise choice though is to take portions of the money you save plus the interest from time to time and invest in stable, long term assets like land or in higher yielding assets like a business. I wrote in an earlier article that people who are "recession proof" today have developed multiple streams of income and the starting point to multiple streams of income is saving a chunk of money to invest in something. If you are not saving, you are making it very difficult for yourself to become rich! There are always outliers and exceptions to the norm of course; I would be remiss to ignore the "Nigerian factor". There is also always the possibility that you will run into Aliko and Femi at a party one day and they will be competing with each other over who can spray you the most cash!
On to the books! What struck me the most while compiling this list is that four of these books were written between 1910 and 1960. The writing style may be quite archaic in some cases, but somehow the words carry more weight than the modern conversational style of writing. Each book addresses the concept of wealth creation from different aspects. Where one focuses on the difference in mind-set between the rich and the poor, another gives you a step by step guide to follow for creating wealth. In no particular order, here are 10 books that recommend for you to read if you want to be rich. I have included links to Amazon and Konga online stores so you can buy copies now. Rich Dad Poor Dad Robert Kiyosaki (1997) In the 20th anniversary edition of this classic, Robert offers an update on what we’ve seen over the past 20 years related to money, investing and the global economy. Sidebars throughout the book will take readers “fast forward” from 1997 to today as Robert assesses how the principles taught by his rich dad have stood the test of time. In many ways, the messages of rich dad poor dad, messages that were criticized and challenged two decades ago, are more meaningful, relevant and important today than they were 20 years ago. As always, readers can expect that Robert will be candid, insightful and continue to rock more than a few boats in his retrospective. Will there be a few surprises? Count on it. - Amazon This is basically a story of Robert's life growing up in Hawaii and how the principles he learnt from his real dad (the poor one) and his dad's friend (the rich one) were polar opposites. He had to decide for himself if he should follow the teachings of his rich dad or his poor dad. No prizes for guessing which one he chose. It's an enjoyable, easy to read book that you will want to read again when you're finished. If you haven't read this book, it's honestly not something you should be admitting to in public. It’s like admitting you can't swim or that you can't ride a bike. This is the literary equivalent of that Kenny G album that has been played to death in Nigeria. Get a copy now and learn the principles that has made Robert a millionaire.
The Richest Man In Babylon George S. Clason (1926) The multi-million copy bestselling classic read by millions, this timeless book holds the key to success-in the secrets of the ancients. Based on the famous "Babylonian principles," it's been hailed as the greatest of all inspirational works on the subject of thrift and financial planning. This celebrated bestseller offers an understanding of-and a solution to-personal money problems. This is the original classic that reveals the secrets to acquiring money, keeping money, and making money earn even more money. Simply put: the original money-management favourite is back! - Amazon I first read this book ages ago and I think it is the one book that has influenced my writing on personal finance the most. When you hear the word Babylon, what may come to mind are vague images of worldly people engaging in hedonistic acts. Ever present in those mental images however, is GOLD! Lots and lots of gold. Babylon was a bustling mega city where trade and commerce were the economic drivers. It was the wealthiest city in the ancient world and to be called the richest man in Babylon, you had to be pretty damn rich. In the parables and metaphors shared in the pages of this book, you will learn the principles of how to be mega rich. It's written in a story format and tracks a conversations between Arkad, the rich man and Bansir, a young man who is eager to learn the secrets of wealth. The writing is however of the ear it was written. As fascinating as it is, you may have to take your time with this one. Thankfully, it’s a short book of 144 pages. If you get only one book from this list, get this one. Multiple Streams of Income: How to Generate a Lifetime of Unlimited Wealth Robert Allen (2005) In Multiple Streams of Income, bestselling author Robert Allen presents ten revolutionary new methods for generating over $100,000 a year on a part–time basis, working from your home, using little or none of your own money. For this book, Allen researched hundreds of income–producing opportunities and narrowed them down to ten sure-fire money-makers anyone can profit from. - Amazon Imagine a mountain with streams of water running down it. There are big, fat streams, small streams and even waterfalls. People come to this mountain every day with bowls, pails and buckets to collect water. Some people collect from just one stream while some collect from several. Others have wisely dammed their streams, creating reservoirs. This is the analogy that Robert uses at the start of this book to describe the mind-set you should have about money. If you are going to be financially secure, you need to create reservoirs and at the same time, plug the leaks that threaten to drain your reservoirs. I won't go into what each of the streams are here, you will have to get the book. Besides, I won't be able to do justice to the book in this short paragraph. It's easy to think that some of the streams he mentions can't work in Nigeria but you would be wrong. Principles are universal and there are examples of Nigerians in Nigeria using every single one of the opportunities shared in the book to make money. The Science of Getting Rich Wallace D. Wattles (1910) Wallace D. Wattles introduced the world to the power of positive thinking. In his book, Wattles stresses the power of the human mind claiming that one's way of thinking can attract or repel wealth. According to him, there are certain laws that govern the process of acquiring riches. Once these laws are obeyed by any person, he will get rich with certainty. Discover the law of attracting wealth from among the first master to propagate it. Discover the secret of how to get rich, starting from where you are, with what you have. 'The Science of Getting Rich' holds the secret to how economic and emotional security can be achieved in a practical, imaginative and non-competitive way, while maintaining a loving and harmonious relationship with all of life. 'The Science of Getting Rich' remains relevant more than 100 years after its initial publication. - Amazon This is the book I am reading as I write this blog post. It's the second time I'm reading it and that's because you can't wrap your head around it in one go (I'm beginning to suspect that I might have to read it a third time). I must admit that when the author started with all the positive thinking mumbo jumbo, I was turned off. I stayed with it and discovered that it's quite a deep book. I like how each chapter builds on the previous and leads the reader step by step to the conclusion. There is a biblical slant to this book, pointing to bible verses and drawing parallels with the modern age (early 20th century modern). It's a tough read but I prefer to read this version than the few adaptations by other others. Because the book is so old, it's copyright free and there must be free copies on the internet somewhere. I got a copy from Amazon for £0.49p. All You Can Do Is All You Can Do Art Williams (1988) If you think dreaming is “kid’s stuff”, you’re dead wrong, and without a big dream, your career and your life will go.....nowhere. In All You Can Do is All You Can Do, Art Williams shares the winning system that he used to change his life and the lives of thousands of other people within his company. This book describes a deceptively simple six-point plan that turns ordinary people into winners. Find out how to get that “Friday night feeling”, back in your life! - Amazon This book really surprised me. I picked it up at an airport just to while away the time and I couldn't put it down. In AYCDIAYCD, Art Williams shares the story of his ordinary life as a poorly paid school football coach coming from a family of ordinary people and how he transformed himself into one of the wealthiest finance moguls in America. It’s almost a memoir of his life and the steps he took towards greatness. He talks a lot about himself and the people he has helped become millionaires through his company and tends to go off tangent at times but if you push past that and focus on the principles, you will get something out of this book. Enough Talk, Time To Act These are just 5 books out of thousands I could have recommended. I didn’t mention the classic Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill nor the more recent Side Hustle by Chris Guillebeau (I strongly recommend that you listen to his podcast called Side Hustle School by the way). These 5 books will provide a rounded body of knowledge to get you on your way to living the life of your dreams but you have to read them. As Jim Rohn said, "" The book you don't read won't help". Click on the links to buy them off Konga or if you want to read it on your tablet, the kindle versions can be found on Amazon. For more articles like this, check out my blog at www.talkingmoney.com.ng 6 books were listed in the bullet points NOT 5. Whoa! I've read 4 out of the 6 books listed in hard copies since the 1990s. I'm gonna grab the rest and read in both hard and soft copies. Awesome post. |

sexydale: We live in a world that is ever evolving and increasingly seem beyond our control. Our livelihoods are at the control of globalised forces. The truth is that the problems that we face cannot be solved only by our individual actions. We need the continued effort of those in our circle and outside it to proffer solution and forge ahead.
Most times, the natural response of people when they feel overwhelmed by the issues of life is to retreat into various forms of passivity. There is this belief that if we don’t try too much in life, if we limit our cycle of action, we can give ourselves the illusion of control. But an illusion is what it is – it is not real.
Trying to keep up in a world that seems to be on fast-forward can be hard; but you can either be a follower of trend or become a trend to be followed. Things are much easier when you set the pace that when you have to run after frenzied developments – constantly catching you unawares.
Information is a major recipe of evolution. When you are informed, you can evolve and adapt – this makes you more of a pacesetter than a mere follower. And how do you get informed? By consciously educating your mind. If at this point in the millennium you still abhor books, repent!
Make it a habit to learn something new every day (and of course, try to apply what you have learnt because it is only in application that your life and the world at large can continue to evolve – change for the better). One of the ways to do this is by reading.
Many youngsters find carry volumes of books very cumbersome. Well, thank God for technology, all that has ended! Ebooks are as efficient as traditional paperbacks – if not better. sexydale: In a world so cramped with lots of struggles and competition, it is safe to assert that it is only those who manage to stay fit and sane that survive; hence, the epiphany - The survival of the fittest.
Fitness does not necessarily mean muscles and weights. It also means skills, practicable skills. If you are not productive, you fade out. It's that simple.
While acquiring formal education in school, we were given the similitude of survival skills to which is expected we apply in real world, which in turn will deliver at least our basic needs - food, shelter and clothing. It worked then. But now you need more than school grades to actually get even the basic need. The basic skills learnt in traditional schools today is no longer enough. Hence, the Bow and Brain strategy.
The education, which is hoped to have inculcated a skill, is your Bow, i.e., your weapon. This is what conventional education gives you. But specialized education gives you a renewed creative mind, which is termed as the Brain (for the purpose of this write-up) and this is what really makes you relevant. Specialized education teaches how to use or channel conventional education. If you have a gun and don't know how to aim and shoot, it could become dangerous for you. Conventional education is what we are pushed into - not much of a choice from us. It's something that can be tagged the needful that you get dragged into. Your parents put you in school because it is your right and their obligation. But the specialized form of education, most times you have to do yourself. It could be in four walls like the other, or it could be outside four walls.
Some people wait until they get their weapon before they begin to go through the manual, others go through the manual before they own it. You can do both - while going through the process of owning your weapon, also go through the manual alongside. Visit www.impactimpression.com.ng for more pep talk.

Health › Re: Why Does My Vagina Smell? 8 Causes Of Vaginal Odour by AlphaTaikun: 10:10am On Mar 19, 2022 |
Kobojunkie: Last updated: Wed, Nov 3, 2021 Does it smell different down there? Dr Elisabeth Rosén, a Livi doctor who specialises in gynaecology, explains the possible causes and shares advice on how to get rid of vaginal odour
Vaginal odour is something we can feel uncomfortable talking about. But getting to know your body can help you identify what’s ‘normal’ for you, and when to get medical help.
'The vagina has a natural bacterial flora that’s there to keep a good balance,’ explains Dr Rosén. It’s because of this natural bacteria that the cervical mucus in the vagina always has a smell. You may also experience changes throughout your menstrual cycle as the pH balance in your vagina changes.
So, what does vaginal odour normally smell like?
Dr Rosén says that it usually ranges from a slightly tangy or sour smell to a more metallic smell around or after your period. ‘Generally, if you’re feeling well and your vaginal odour or discharge isn’t unusual for you, there’s no reason to worry.’
Here are 8 common causes of vaginal odour and when to talk to a doctor: 1. Bacterial vaginosis (BV) Vaginal odour: fishy
Bacterial vaginosis is one of the most common causes of a smelly vagina, affecting 15% to 50% of women of reproductive age. ‘It’s a condition where there’s an imbalance in the vaginal flora,’ Dr Rosén explains. ‘The first symptom is often a fishy smell, which can progress to a frothy, grey or green-ish discharge. You may also feel itchy and swollen.’
There are a number of different treatment options if the symptoms of BV don’t clear up on their own. ‘A doctor can prescribe you a course of antiseptics or antibiotics,’ says Dr Rosén. Unfortunately, recurrence is not unusual after antibiotic treatment. Some studies have proven that the use of probiotics could be helpful, and Dr Rosén suggests changing contraception, especially if you’re using the coil.
She adds that your sexual partner may be the cause of your infection, so talking to them about their personal hygiene and using external or internal condoms for a while might be a good idea. If you find that this helps, your partner will likely need a course of antibiotics, too.
‘If you’re having these symptoms, you should see a doctor to rule out any underlying conditions that may need treatment,’ Dr Rosén says. ‘That’s especially important if you’re pregnant, as there’s an increased risk for premature labour.’
2. Trichomoniasis Vaginal odour: pungent and fishy, similar to BV
Trichomoniasis is the most common non-viral sexually transmitted infection (STI) in the world. ‘It’s a parasitic disease that typically doesn’t cause a lot of symptoms,’ says Dr Rosén. ‘Some people experience subtle symptoms like a yellowy-green vaginal discharge with an unpleasant smell, and the vulva can be a little red and itchy. A course of antibiotics usually clears it up.’... Insightful... 'Gbenga Oresegun and the self-confessed oral action folks, over to you. Lol.

Romance › Re: My Sister Is About To Marry An Osu Man, About To Commit A Serious Taboo by AlphaTaikun: 7:15pm On Mar 18, 2022 |
TheSkyIsBlue: My Sister Is About To Commit A Serious Taboo All In The Name Of Marriage
Hello Nairalanders!
Please ignore any typographical or grammatical error. I just want to pour it out the way it is in my heart.
I am seriously confused and worried about what is happening in my family and I will appreciate your candid advice.
There is this guy my sister has been in a relationship with for over seven years now. so he actually asked her hand in marriage and decided to come see my parents for introduction, about some months ago. My family decided to take their time to find out more about the guys family background as is required in Igbo tradition.
After several questions asked, my family came to find out that the guy is an Osu (an outcast). On knowing this, everybody in my family told my sister to cut ties with him and discontinue the relationship because it is a big taboo to get married to an Osu in my place . If you do, no family member or friend will attend your wedding or even have anything to do with you again.
But my sister refused to listen to anybody claiming she really loves the guy, that they have been together for a very long time and that she is not getting younger anymore (mind you, she is in her early thirties). Everybody (my parents and extended family members) tried to talk her out of it but she still didn't listen.
After much pressure and her continues insistence, my dad decided to give them his blessings, although against his wish (my dad is actually not really deep into tradition). Now the guy has done all the traditional rights and paid for her dowry. Their wedding is coming up soon.
But the problem now is, according to tradition and from what I heard, if she was allowed to go with the guy without my dad giving them his blessings, the stigma would have just been on her and she alone would have been considered Osu, since she insisted to continue with the marriage. But now that my dad has given them his blessings, it is considered that all of us (her siblings) will also have that link of Osu too. Except if she decide to put an end to the relationship and discontinue with the wedding, which I don't think my sister is ready to do.
I am really worried and depressed about it, cause I don't want anything that will affect me tomorrow when I want to get married just because of my sister's mistakes.
I will really like to get opinions and sincere advice especially from those that are familiar with tradition, cause I'm seriously bothered. Thanks! I laughed in Ebonics when I first read the naive posts of some younger non-Ibo people here on this thread criticising or insulting Ibo elders and other Ibos over the Osu caste custom. Ibos have no intention of eradicating it because it is deeply embeded in their communities. Osus are NOT given chieftaincy titles and they are not allowed to sit in crucial community meetings or to get married to so-called freeborn families. NOTE: Indeed if non-Ibo men or women (Yoruba, Edo, Berom, Ibibio, etc), get married to Ibos who are Osus, they too and their children automatically become Osu outcasts in the spouse's community by association and would be discriminated against! I listened to a recorded phone-in program in 2020 anchored by a female OAP and the male Ibo callers living in Lagos and Ogun States fiercely justified the Osu custom and said that "if traditional marriage cannot be banned, Osu cannot be banned!" One of the male callers who is from Imo sarcastically said it is the Ibos who are from Osu lineages that are marrying Yorubas, Hausas and Benue people. He even bluntly said the Ibo children of Osus living in Lagos and elsewhere have not been told by their fathers yet that they are Osus, and that it is when they want to get married and investigations are done into the family lineages in the village that those young Ibos get to know that they are Osus! Ifedayo Daddy Freeze Olarinde also did a program in 2021 discussing how to eradicate the Osu outcast custom, but he also got some live phone calls from especially Ibo men telling him to leave the Osu topic alone since it is part of the Ibo culture. That was when it finally dawned on me that Ibos are NOT serious about stopping it because it has deep cultural and communal roots, and all the pronouncements banning the Osu custom for over 50 years now are just what the are. EMPTY proclamations! |
Romance › Re: My Junior Sister Is Gay by AlphaTaikun: 4:18pm On Mar 18, 2022 |
Vikkygeee: I created this account lately to search for something here so I figured I'd just throw this out and maintain my anonymity. I am 30years old and I'm the first born of my family I've got 2 siblings, one male and female. My sister just finished her education in Ukraine and she is working in am hospital in lagos she's a medical doctor and she's just 25. My sister is a very attractive girl and she has always had tons of male admirers ,some guys even go to the extent of befriending me just to get in touch with my sister, but the problem is she just doesn't like to mingle or even hangout with guys except they are just her friends. Growing up I thought it was because of the brotherly advice I gave her about men so I wasn't worried, at 16 she went to Ukraine and came back 7 years later. When she came back I notice there is always this Ukrainian girl that calls her like everytime daily and they talk for hours, I thought they were just bffs until I used her laptop when data ran out of mine one day and just happen to see her chats and what I saw was suprising, their chat dated for years and i saw pictures of them together on dates, vacations, bed, kissing, cuddling ,heck I even found some explicit picture the girl sent her ,but for the sake of privacy I didn't check it out. The problem now Is that our parents are disciplinarian and I don't ever want them to find out because it will lead to a big trouble between them. Some days ago I showed at my sister's apartment and I sat her down and asked her if she's gay or not,she replied without even hesitating that she is truly gay and she wouldn't live her life otherwise, hearing this I just left without saying anything and went to my house, she even called me a couple times to explain but I didn't pick up. After pondering about this issue I decided to speak to her because I love her so much as she is our last born,i called her to come and meet me at home, she came and i spoke to her at length about the situation on ground and I made her understand that Nigeria doesn't support those kind of things,my sister replied me that she's engaged to that ukranian and she is going to marry her irrespective of what it'll cost her. Knowing my little sister she's an extremely determined human being, anything she says she'll do, she'll do it even if she'll suffer though it.i don't want to lose her so I've given her my support and told her I'll find a way to solve this issue. The problem now is that a friend of mine advised me to tell our parents so that everything will scatter and she won't have a choice,to tell the truth that was what I planned on doing before, or she goes back to Ukraine this year and marry that girl then they'll do artificial insemination to bear a child that way we'll have something to show to our parents that'll signify she's married and later on we'll let the cat out of the bag. Please mature people should help me chip in and give me some advice abeg. Wow! From Ukraine with love. |

oldienavie: I am 36 years old and she is 26 years old, is 10 years gap too much ? She is such a godly lady and the type I'd love to settle down with. No... Even a 20 year gap isn't bad. As long as you live a life of balance and she respects you... and you love her right back. The "godly" aspect can be very deceptive since a lot of females and males are good at pretending within the religious space. It's better to study people's responses to real world situations when you are in informal situations. This gives you perspectives on how they deal with anger issues, money management issues and more. In my 17 years of being a member of NL (I've got another older NL user name), I usually go through the NL histories or posts of some users here to get a hang of their personalies, and to see if they they are trolls or use abusive language indiscriminately. I just give them a wide berth! Last but not least, you can read up more on "Emotional Intelligence," and a book entitled the "5 Love Languages" if you haven't. Cheers.

MOORCHMOORE: It happened day before yesterday around 10pm. My wife and 5months Son went to see her parent since 21st Aug, that the highest I've stayed without them.
On Friday 4th September, my inlaws came to do Omugo for my Son. I travel to my village that day after work.
After a success event, friends came and gone, I was left with my family members.
The urge to have sex was so high on us, my wife came into the room bang door but forgot to lock it. She was all over me. The summary was that we were at it, my mum was calling us, I didn't bother to grab the door because I thought it's Locked. As she was opening the door I was shouting for her to hold on cause my wife just muttered the door was open. Lol... But then she was already in my room with me on top of my wife, stack naked, light on. All she said as she turned back was "Umu anumanu" ie Animals.
For my I wasn't embarrassed but my wife was.
Married and Unmarried. Have you had similar experience? How did you handle it? LMAO... "Umu anumanu." Nice one. Lessons learned: Due dilligence! Always check your parachute and strap it on properly before jumping off the light aircraft. |

Kobojunkie: Japanese woman gives up baby, sues sperm donor for $3 million after learning he lied
A woman in Japan has filed a lawsuit against the sperm donor who impregnated her, alleging that he was dishonest about his civil status, educational background and ethnicity.
The unnamed plaintiff, a 30-year-old woman from Tokyo, said she and her husband wanted to have a second child but were concerned after finding out that her husband has a hereditary condition, reported Tokyo Shimbun via Newsweek.
After deciding to use a sperm donor, they found a man in his 20s on social media who claimed to be a single Japanese man who graduated from Kyoto University, one of Japan’s top universities. After having sex with the donor 10 times, the woman finally became pregnant in June 2019.
The woman eventually discovered later on in the pregnancy that the donor is actually a married Chinese man who never attended Kyoto University. After giving birth, the woman and her husband gave up the baby, who is currently being cared for in a child center in Tokyo.
The woman has accused the donor of misleading her with false information to have sex with her. She is now seeking approximately $2.8 million dollars as compensation for emotional distress.
Under Japan’s "right to know" laws, the offspring of sperm donors have a legal right to identify both of their biological parents. With many donors choosing to remain anonymous, finding potential sperm donors in the country has become complicated.
More couples in Japan have been turning to social media to look for sperm donors, and over 10,000 children have reportedly been born with a third party’s involvement.
The Mirai Life Research Institute opened Japan's first sperm bank last summer to provide a safer option for Japanese couples who are trying to conceive, reported Japan Insider. https://www.google.com/amp/s/news.yahoo.com/amphtml/japanese-woman-gives-baby-sues-184839225.html Huh?! Hold it right there! What happened to carrying out background-checks, and medical checks on the so-called sperm donor? The Japanese are usually very meticulous and "artificial insemination" should have been used here! Most men worldwide including myself would NEVER let a sperm donor straff or have sex with our women. We are very protective and territorial to let such B.S. happen. The original story contains a lot of embellishments and internal contradictions. Kilode? |

SultanYoung: Mtn has brought a huge darkness relief to Nigerians by bringing Lumos mobile electricity (yellow box). Ever since the existence it has serve as alternative power source. And no doubt many Nigerians have been benefitting from it since it is a prepared device which means you pay what you use.
We have been receiving mail about how to hack and crack (bypass) this mtn lumos mobile electricity and use it for free. The answer/solution is here but before then lets talk more about the lumos box.
More about mtm lumos box.
The lumos generates energy from sunlight through the solar panel and distribute it to every connection attached to it. Its affordable compare to running generator, With as low as #250 you can get 15hrs light per day.
What you find in the mtn lumos solar power system.
Two energy saving bulbs Two Car Cigarette Sockets Solar panel 60W DC to AC Converter Two USB ports Advantage of using Mtn lumos solar power system.
247 power standby
One of the issues Nigerians are facing is lack of electric but with lumos box you can have 24hrs light depending on how you manage it.
Pay as you use.
lumos is not like nepa light that you pay for monthly and use for just one week or two, mtn as made it possible that you pay as you use daily. With low as #7500 you can subscribe your lumos power and use it for full one month (30 days). It is very easy to use from the installation to payments method, without much technical no how you can do the installation your self. Also the lumos is noiseless on like generator that makes noise and spoils easily.
Disadvantages of of using Mtn lumos solar power system.

You can’t pause lumos solar subscription from reading though we already have a way to crack and bypass the payment so you use your lumos solar for free.

Lumos solar has low capacity and can only power 12volts electronics electronics decoders (DSTV, GoTV, Startimes etc),12v LED TV or any LED TV not up to 32 inches, laptop and phones, and you can’t plug all this at once. If you are planing to be powering your fridge or big led tv DON’T buy this mtn lumos. With small sized TV, it will run out in not more than 2-3 hours in the night, may be better during the day. On days when it rains and heavy cloud with little sunshine, you will have no light, especially if you exhausted it the previous night.
Appliances you can use with Mtn lumos box.
Sound Systems & Home Theater. Light Bulb. Hair Clipper. AC Fan. DC Fan. LED Televisions+decoder. Laptop. Mobile Phone. Appliances you can not use with MTN lumos box.

ItuExchange: DR. VAN K. THARP TURNS TO LIGHT
“In loving memory of Van K. Tharp (1946 - 2022). A beloved leader who touched the lives of so many traders around the world.” – VTI
Our hearts are heavy to share the news that Dr. Tharp, our beloved Van, has turned to light and passed to the other side. Dr. Van K. Tharp passed away from liver failure on Thursday, February 24, 2022, in Raleigh, North Carolina. His wife of nearly 30 years, Kala Tharp, was at his side. She has lovingly cared for Van during his illness which was first diagnosed in June of 2021. Dr. Tharp will be remembered for being among the world’s top trading coaches. He is a founding father of the trading psychology field. Van was also a trading concept innovator, a brilliant teacher, and a humble leader. He had a keen, creative mind and a singular ability to be authentic in each moment. Over the last 20 years, Van experienced a great spiritual awakening which profoundly influenced his life and he wanted to share those gifts with everyone. Van developed a deep trust for his Inner Guidance and came to believe that “God is everything in the universe”. Van would want us to remember that even in our apparent loss at the moment, we are all one with each other and we are one with the Divine. Van touched the lives of many people across the globe. People regularly sent him letters thanking him for helping them change their lives through his books, home study courses, and workshops. I came across him when I was contemplating quitting trading because I had hit a roadblock, a dead-end, and an impasse. I was 100% frustrated and I wanted to go do something else with my life. Then I came across Van in an old edition of TRADERS’ magazine, and I had a rude awakening. It dawned on me that there are successful traders, professional traders. What are they doing differently? Through Van, I realized that what they are doing differently fly in the face of conventional wisdom, plus what most traders like to do, as people tend to look for a solution to their problems in the wrong places and do the wrong things. Since then, I have hooked to Tharp’s teachings, formulas, thoughts, updates, and newsletters. This is the biggest factor that has helped me reach the top echelon of trading mastery. I gained a lot of life-saving and career-saving knowledge from Van, as well as tips on other markets and cryptos. I had the 3 most important trading coaches, as far as I’m concerned. I lost Joe Ross in September 2021. I lost Van Tharp in February 2022, and only James Altucher remains alive. The loss of Van Tharp is a wound that cannot heal on time… I will sorely miss him. However, I’m glad that he lived a successful and fulfilled life, and he impacted numerous lives. Truly, a man’s worth is measured only by what he gives others. The testimonies below are just a few from an outpouring of testimonies given when the news of his transition was broken.” - Azeez M.
“Dear Van, I will be forever grateful to you for the profound changes you were able to create in so many people. You introduced me to the Red Pill and my life was changed forever (for the better, of course)! I joined your Super Trader program in 2013 and underwent many wonderful transformations. Your guidance was so helpful, and my happiness level soared. I have not been to Cary in over 3 years, but I still miss the love and spiritual energy that enveloped VTI. My heart goes out to my dear friend Kala and the VTI staff. I am so glad you will be carrying on Van’s mission!” – Susan P.
“His books has a great impact on my decision-making. He was a risk management Guru. His contribution is priceless, always wanted to meet him but never got a chance. I am grateful for all the knowledge he has shared through his books and seminars. His work will be helpful for the generations to come…” - Mihir T.
“I met Van in ’97 when he played the marble game at a workshop in Reno, Nv. His positive influence on me got me started on my path of personal development that has also spilled over to my wife and children. I still have a lot of work to do in my super trader journey. Van, Kala, RJ, past and present staff and all the other students that I have met at training over the years have all in some way helped me become a better person. The journey continues.” - Eugene C.
“Thank you all for sharing your stories and experience. I am finding a lot of comfort and peace in all your stories. Nothing will give Van so much joy as listening and reading about all the lives he has touched. You all make him so proud. You are all the reason he did what he did. I told him one day please don’t die, and he said I don’t want to die but then death is all an illusion. He reminded me to always live in the present, do my gratitude meditation and live life. Van lived his life to the fullest every day. During his last days he could hardly walk but would seat and write his new book, he managed to write 4 chapters. It was his life story. He told me the liver cirrhosis was a blessing. There is not enough space to share my experiences with you here, but you all get the picture. Seeing all your responses I am so confident and humbled that Van Tharp’s legacy will live on through you all and all the amazing teachers Van has produced at VTI, RJ, Ken Long, Gabriel, and the list goes on. I will miss him dearly because living with him has been an adventure, you never know what to expect next, it is always full of surprises. He was the kindest, most generous, amazing man I will ever know. I feel so honored and humbled to have been his wife. He was a shy, simple and down-to-earth man. I will miss him so much. But he facilitated my growth to be a strong and independent woman. Will forever be grateful to this genius legend I shared 30 years with. He left me with a lot of tools, to help me continue to grow. Once again thank you all for generously sharing your stories.” – Kala Tharp (Van’s widow)
