Wats with this new layout of Nairaland? My eyes are hurting. |
dasparrow: This thread is NOT about Ghana! Why do some of you find it so difficult to stick to the topic of discussion?!!!! Please kindly go to bed if you have nothing meaningful to contribute. It is disgusting that as Africans we choose not to condemn all forms of injustice and brutality! When we get treated with hostility by westerners/caucasians abroad, we want to complain but then we do the same crap to each other on the African continent and see nothing wrong with it. How hypocritical!+10,000 Likes |
franchizy: GEJ in collaboration wit Gov T. A Orji are rehabilitating all d major roads in Aba, Abia state. Dis roads were abandoned by d past administration. It is 4 d reasons dat Abians say they will forever remain indebted to our God sent Gov T. A. Orji.JOKE OF THE YEAR!! |

To all those complaining about Gov. Rochas' performance, here's the simple solution. How about u guys exchange him for Gov. T.A Orji of Abia state. We wldnt mind at all. |
ABU GEORGE: There is no difference between uduaghan and president jonathan. U people are sayin orji abi den try delta state den u'll no wat is govt. Gov. T.A Orji of Abia state. D guy is sooo clueless! |
fuke: Couldn't have been said better. Most times, im amazed at d type of senseless responses i see on dis site. So in ur opinion, the best way to tackle corruption is by sacking civil servants? When we sack them, what now happens? Corruption will suddenly stop abi? We are crying out that the level of unemployment is too high and you are advocating this nonsense. Clap for yourself. |
courage89: If we continue to reason along the line of thinking proposed by majority of commenters on this forum, im sorry for our future as Nigerians. Whats wrong in suing a company that fails to discharge on its corporate, social and moral responsibilities? If a company fail to train its workforce properly, or fail to recruit the right professionals on how to discharge its corporate responsibility, which later results in additional liability to the company. Why should they not be sued?100000 likes! |
Maxymilliano: Never been to Abia but is T.A Orji perfomance in office that bad? Updates from Ugo Emezue says otherwise. My man, dont even bother coming. Abia state government is highly f.u..cked up! |
This is a little bit tricky, but let me break it down for you. The Land Use Act vests all lands in a state, in the Governor of that state who shall hold such lands as a trustee for his people. However, this does not give the Governor the power to forcefully 'acquire' and occupy any land he likes as he deems fit. Before any land can be 'acquired' by the Governor, it must be shown that he did it with good faith and for overriding public interests. Now, the previous owner of the land is entitled to be compensated for any developments he has made on the land such as buildings, fences and even crops. However, the problem with your case is that it happened many years ago. I believe that your action may not succeed because of the time lapse. Your case is now statute-barred. This is further reiterated by the doctrine of proprietary estoppel. This is the best advice i can give you, because there may still be some little facts u've omitted. Its important you consult a lawyer cuz all hope isn't lost. Goodluck. |
Its a welcome development. However, i fear that the case may be struck out because of the lack of locus standi on the part of the lawyers. Before one can seek remedies, it has to be shown that he has suffered a detriment. In this case, the lawyers need to prove that the inefficiency on the part of the President has made them to suffer a loss. However, like i earlier said, thumbs up to them. |
kunletech: why u guys are making fun of him instead of advice?Dats totally uncool my man. Wasnt necessary at all. |
Idowuogbo: Don't even go dia....Lwkmd! I'm seriously tripping. |

Section 24 of the Criminal Code : Subject to the express provisions of this Act relating to negligent acts and omissions, a person is not criminally responsible for an act or omission which occurs independently of the exercise of his will OR for an event which occurs by accident. A successful plea of this defence grants a total acquittal. If i were to be his lawyer, i'll stick to this defence. |

D.amn! I really cant believe that d comments of dis i.dio.t governor of Abia state started a tribal war in Nairaland. Let's call a spade a spade. Abia state governor is very clueless. There hasn't been any visible development since he assumed office. It was plain silly of him to bring in Awolowo, who's resting in peace and start playing d ethnic card. He simply should have shut up and worked harder. BTW, wat has ACN and PDP got to do with his poor performance? FYI, i'm an Abian, so i knw wat i'm saying |
I wonder how sane people could actually believe dat bullshit. ![]() |

T.A Orji, na u we know!!! Nobody is going to to snatch dis title 4rm u. Ur d worst Governor to ever walk the face of Planet Earth ![]() |
Do u guys even know wat ur saying! T.A Orji of Abia state is d worst Governor who has ever existed in Nigeria. When last did we ever hear of a Governor sacking all d non-indigenes in d State's Civil Service? Even d dirtiest parts of hell are cleaner than the streets of Aba. Umuahia, the state capital is nothing to write home about. In dat city, there are more Keke na Peps than passengers! Abia state can't boast of any good road and there's no possible sign of development till 2015. T.A Orji is seriously doing a good job at ruining d state. Abeg, no need for further arguments. Thank God 4 d Governor u have oooh. Worst Governor of all times ~ Governor Theodore Ahamefula Orji!! |
