Katsumoto: If I am described as tribalistic, then there isn't a word in the English language or Igbo for that matter to describe you. You can't go two secs without stating that the Igbo is the best tribe since sliced bread and that other Nigerian tribes are useless. I dare you to find a thread where I had something bad to say about any Nigerian ethnic groups. It wouldn't take me 1 page to find one from you, the emotional Onlylies.
I guess one becomes traibalistic by providing fact based arguments which flies in the face of the blatant lies you were fed. I could care less; I am going to keep doing what I do.
FYI, I have never stated where I am from. I may be Igbo for all you know. But I guess if the Yoruba want me, then I am proud to be a honorary omo odua. Ewu nama Katsumoto, I think you have to apologise to Onlytruth over the insult in bold. He has not done anything deserving such an insult. |

Wesley80. It is very annoying for to dismiss the rich archaeological excavations of Igbo people and claim that it is a culture of an unknown people. Nwa Aboh, do not write what you do not know and at the same time claimed that Igbo ama eze to buttress your mischievous claim. The site in Igbo Ukwu you and Chyz are referencing is that of an elite personnel (King). But you distorted history by adding the Igbo have no kings aspect. So, how did they have EZE, OBI OR IGWE. The reason why in most parts of Igboland, no body was allowed to ascend Ezeship was to avoid tyranny. One of the Igbo basis of status being achieved, it would have been wrong for anybody to become Eze without displaying an exceptional quality. For this reason there was Ezeship which no one occupied because the conditions were too high. One of the as Chinua Achebe wrote in TFA was that the person must pay the debt of all the men in that village. And this debt will not be paid back. So who had that kind of money to achieve all this?. My aim here is that Igbo history should not be distorted. |

I'm an Igbo but spent my early years in Yorubaland. As a consequence it is easy for me to draw comparisms of both great sides. It is nothing new. Comparisms helps move people, organisations and nations forward. Here in the U.K, The British society of ten compares herself with the French, American, German and other nations at the forefront of civilization. I will always compare the Igbo to Yoruba or the other way round when I have a case to discuss. I hardly bring Hausa in as I do not have much insight about them. |

odumchi: What you're talking about is tradition which differs from place to place while I'm talking about culture. Culture and tradition arent the same thing. However, all Igbos understand the importance of kola nuts, we all recognize chi as a deity in addition to other deities, they all answer "Mazi", have 4 market days, use palmwine, and etc. WORD. |

Anyway for the bigots here, language is noot the only unifying factor in Igbo culture. Others are Same market days, kolanut rituals, Iri ji festivals, belief in Chi, belief in Ozo titles, belief in Ikenga, belief in circumcision on the 8th day etc. |
Culture › Re: Are Igbos Culturally Fused ? by AndreUweh(m): 12:05am On Nov 16, 2011 |
Negro_Ntns: Do you know why? Because you are using language as a creed of unification. Yoruba nor Hausa, not even Fulani uses language as a creed of unity.
You need to find a creed, other than language, that binds your people, regardless of where they are physically located. Language is also what has unified your Yoruba group. You are back in Igbo threads again after Chinenye gave you some extra-moral lessons not long ago. |

The poster is a well known trouble maker. I hardly reply his posts nor contribute in his brainless threads. First he started by insulting the Yorubas by calling them Yorubas. Secondly, he reminded posters how Yorubas insult Ndigbo. Thirdly, he tried so hard but failed to draw Ndigbo and Ijaws to a battle over who enslaved each other. At a time like this when Boko Haram is turning Northern Nigeria into an Armageddon, instead of offering solution the poor boy chose to engage in bigotry. What a shame. |

Romance › Re: Why Do Girls Pull Down The Backside Of Their Tops When They See Me Coming? by AndreUweh(m): 8:56pm On Nov 07, 2011 |
Kossy04: I've noticed a very common antic amongst Nigerian girls. When they see me coming they pull down the back of their tops to cover their beltline. Initially, I thought they were cautious not to reveal, now I'm convinced they just do that to seek attention. Even when they were chatting with some other guy, the moment they see me come by they pull their back side down, even when their waistline is already covered. Initially, this behavior got my attention, cuz even when I'm not paying attention to them, when they do that, I turn to them. When I turn to them, often times, I see them staring at me. I made up my mind I'd never again fall bait. I've never seen this sort of behavior amongst European girls, or at least most I come across. That's one of those things I absolutely detest in Nigerian girls, and one of the reasons why I find it VERY hard to hook up with them; they are horrible attention seekers.
Anyway, I'm just curious, are all Nigerian girls seeking attention when they pull down their backside, or are there some that do it for genuine reasons? Also, why isn't such behavior as common amongst white girls as it is amongst Nigerians, or aren't they girls as well? When that happens again, be bold to warn them not to do it again when you are around. |

Africans working in the U.K are punished a lot even in incidents of the smallest misdemeanor. Some clients/residents/patient hate seeing black faces. Probably, the parent's of that little child has been looking for an opportunity to lay off mrs Abayomi, and this case afforded them the opportunity to do so.In the U.K, parents are also trained about resuscitation etc, at that point they could have prevented mrs Abayomi from taking the lead. Second, a lot hate Christianity and Christians. If they notice you are a christian, you will be targeted so that they can prove that your God can not save you. Mrs Abayomi may be innocent, but because she is Nigerian, she has been painted ugly. She requires help in this case but am sure she is not aware of the services that can be provided her. How I wish I know her in person. |
Health › Re: Nigerian Nurse's Licence Withdrawn In Uk For Calling On Jesus For Help! by AndreUweh(m): 2:43pm On Nov 07, 2011 |
Debsolat: To the above post: I am a RNMH (Clinical Nurse Manager) and I also sit on the board of NMC hearings in UK and I do not agree with your opinion on agency staff not sending their nurses on training. If you look at the NMC code of conduct, it specifically states that as a registered nurse, you are responsible for keeping yourself up to date in regards to any training. And cases that puts peoples lives at risk are not 'winnable' as you put it. Unlike in Nigeria where there are no strict regulations as to what are expected of nurses, UK and other countries are different. Also, as a fellow nigerian and a christian, I find it appalling that fellow nurses (especially nigerian trained) struggle and shy away from performing basic skills. God gave us medicine for a reason (I'm not saying it takes away the place of miracle!) But when you are at work, even if you are praying, you pray in your heart and still do what is physically expected of you as a professional. It's sad that there is no month that you don't see a nigerian being reported for misconduct. Not carrying out your duty as expected is gross misconduct.
Maybe, if majority of nurses in Nigeria can perform Basic Life Support and Intermediate Life Support, we will see a reduction in death rate. Thanks for your contribution, however, I feel employers do fail nurses in the U.K. Has the employers trained mrs Abayomi on paediatric basic life support. Does the employers know mrs Abayomi's skills and limitations?. To give a patient/client best care, the managers has a duty to allocate the right staff to the right job. Poor mrs Abayomi might have been asigned a task she hasn't got theskills to perform. If this is the case, her employers have failed her. I think the employment tribunal will help her. |
