NEW DELHI, India (CNN) -- India has signed a $1.5 billion deal to buy a used Russian aircraft carrier and Russian fighter jets.

Indian Defense Minister George Fernandes on Tuesday inked the package that includes the carrier Admiral Gorshkov and 28 MiG-29k fighters as Sergei Ivanov, his Russian counterpart, looked on.

This is a matter that is verry important to the image of SANDF, I don't blame the guy, nobody apart from some South africans are taking that story serious. Since a lot of people witnessed this conflict then why don't you just give links from credible sources outside South afrca.

agaugust: seleka rebels already did, they trained south African army how to fight real war without using weapons photographs....however, BBC report says 13 south African soldiers died during that practical training and 27 wounded, and some south African army vehicles also experienced change of ownership by force.

Have you forgotten Nigeria has the money to purchase flight carrier ship if it comes to that? It just for the senate to agree with the president and within a twinkling-of-an-eye it is done. In the case of SA the economic power whites will not agree with black government and the members of the parliament will have to take long time to grapple with too much noise before even considering on purchasing new Brazilian made bombers.

Its more an informative platform on Nigeria's acquisitions and current military affairs blog nut not on the level of ISS or even janes defense for that matter.
