agaugust: i have fully responded to the BTR-3U challenge on page 182, you saw it, but you dont have the courage to reply me. even one of my best bosses in the office a retired US Army colonel CANNOT challenge my BTR-3U post on page 182, so let me see if you @DictatorZAR have any courage to challenge it...you south african coward !No one said the BTR3 was a not good IFV. All 40 of them (since 7 are armend with 14.5mm VHMGs) will be a good sytem for Nigeria. The BTR is suppror to the Bradly in some(most) regaurds. But they to small in numbers. SA first batch of ratel replasments is in a batch of all most 300. NBC protecsion has been around for a long time. Even 1970 AFV have had over pressuer and colective has been around even longer. |
patriot4: Francly the way things are going, Nigeria will have to deal with the situation alone, again !Or they can actully send solders. Nigeria can send about 3000 and each other coutribitor can send about 1000 to 2000. And you will need at least one force to take the fight to the enemy. So 2400 or 3 800 strong batlions. The BTR3-U would do good there with a few Tanks and some atry and scout units |
all4naija: The statement in bold only speaks of your petty view to world politics. Russia gas reserve and oil together is by far larger and richer than Iran's yet they are behind Iranian nuclear facilities. You seem to be very silly to think Russians would reject a multi-billion dollars(coming from oil) project to build nuclear facilities in Nigeria because they have larger reserve. It is clear testament to your shallow perception of how the present world operates.are you sure that it is about oil or geopoltics. Any case nigeria is in bed with the west so would not get any nukes from the east |
patriot4: Of course they would say that, the US is trying to make every body believe that its involvement is necessary. An other push for AFRICOM. Before the force even starts leading the battle, they are saying the force is not capable. But keep in mind they did not give the reason they said that.I doubt they saying out of good intsions. But it dose make some sense. Ecowas is just not able to rout out the insurgents. Not with out a massive increase in there forces commited. |
http://m.mg.co.za/index.php?view=article&urlid=2013-04-12-00-sa-france-battle-for-africa Funny how nigeria is not mentioned. O yes you guys are part of the french block. |
GeneralJ: Actually it confirms we do have the guardian version of the BTR3 so i suggest you go counter that with a source other than WikipediaWikipedia is a ok place to get links. |
all4naija: When last did SA upgrade its military weapons? It is clear the large chuck of money budgeted for your military is for payment of personnel salaries.Milltary expenture and budget are seperiat in SA. Any case it happens every year. We piad for 265 badgers that are in producstion, the A darter will enter servis soon, the Mamba and casspir replasement is comeing along, project biro and suacepan are budgeted for, should I go on. And 60% gose to personal that pay, allwancses(our soders don't threaten to go on muinty in sudan) food, medical, pension(that a lot of people by the way) extra. A full billion is spent on joint ops. |
agaugust: I just disgraced you with my unbeatable post on BTR-3U at page 182 . now you really look like a cook/chef in south African navy not a real combatant soldier.Fool. Your post does nothing. It confirms only 47 BTR3-U are. 30UN,6UK,4UR and 7E model with 14.5mm MGs. And only UAE marines have there BTR has guardians. Yours are UN,UK,UR and E. |
http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/RASIT RASI Radar system in servis in Nigeria. Qustion is though is it the 20km range version or 40km range. Either way the kameelperd is a far better sytem. |
agaugust: relax bro, Nigeria is already negotiating details with Russia for nuclear reactor capable of producing nuclear weapons, and the Nigerian space satellite launcher trajectory at Epe town in Lagos city is being modified to launch intercontinental ballistic missiles which can later be structured to carry nuclear warheads. relax my fellow Nigerians, your military power will never disappoint you by the grace of God. Amen !Source on the last part scamster |
agaugust: You drank some more alcohol ? ]Scamstar please keep quite. |
all4naija: What is Nigeria business with SA having Russians or Chinese as allies? You forgot money matters much in how much those two nations will respond to the transfer of Nuclear weapon technology. You soon forget the reason Iranian government is so pompous about acquiring nuclear weapons is for the simple reason it has the mechanism to fund them. You wouldn't be surprised when the two allies of SA will disappoint your country sorry a$$ when huge fund start flowing into their various pockets. Keep thinking those nations have SA at heart. The truth is that they are for their own self-interest. You country palling with them will not deter them from passing the technology to Nigeria if Nigerian government is ready to acquire by systematically tantalizing them with oil money. This post is in the wrong secstion. You should post it in the humor system |
all4naija: Nigerian leaders should start looking for avenue to acquire Nuclear weapons. This SA rogue state can't be trusted in Africa. With the way they are going about places using their military to stage economic imperialism and trying to force its wills on neighboring countries.Lol. Look at this fool. Firstly. Both russia and china are among south africas ally's. Second no one would trust nigeria with a nuke. You may collaps in to civil war(a real one not this bh or mend thing, break up or loose it. Thirdly sa built 7 nukes and gave them up. The plant where they where built is still in use. We could build one in a few months if there was a need. |

patriot4: Saudi arabia has a lot of Equipment but does not have a well trained force. I would bet on South Africa any day against Saudi Arabia.Saudiarbia has 3 milltaries in one. A masive force that there to look good, a internal force and a high trainded force. We could no more invade them than invade nigeria. |
agaugust: .Never doubted they can carry AGMs or had the 30mm turret or the 30mm agl or the 7.62mm coaxle. Nigeria has 30 BTR3-UN, 6BTR3-UK, 4 BTR3-UR and 7 BTR3-ER14 |
agaugust: are you drunk ? saudi arabia has hundreds of tornado interdictor jet fighter bombers and F-15 jets, they will swarm like bees over south african navy warships and sink your navy to the bottom of the sea, or are you drunk with wine ?The germains brought tornados down for a war game once. They no threat. F15's. Doubt they would risk it. Actually why would they even care about us. They would not care if we opertoid out of there EEZ. |
agaugust: all you south africans dont know how to fight real war, you just do copy and paste of weapons photos on internet, no wonder you F00LISH south african army special forces were disgraced by illiterate farmer seleka rebel is CAR and you ran away to french army to save your worthless lives !Funny since we have the best combat record of a african army. Clay giant. |
agaugust: F00L , south africa has no ICMB to hit ethiopia, and ethiopia is so far away from the ocean your navy ships need to enter persian gulf which is EEZ territory of the middle east arab nations and they will sink your warships if you enter their waters they see you as a stranger and a threat ! you F00L !Actulay only sudia arbia. And we got a better nay than them and there navy is on the other side of the country. SA canceld it's ICBM(SLBM to be prescise) projrct in the 1990s. The valour is able to fire land attack cruise missils. But SA did not buy any. Still there are 16 emypty VLC siols on the valour. But there is no need. |
DictatorZAR: Now who rated Ethiopia second in Africa because looking at there forces they lack a serious of capabilities, like no Navy and inadequate military health service, same as Nigeria(interms of military health service)Ethyiopa is land locked. |
patriot4: Ethiopian army is rated second in Africa, yet it is much less funded than that of Nigeria. you see !First. Rated second by whom. A site that I have mentioned to be full of faults. Nigeria, SA and algeria are all in the same level Yes it has doubled since 2010 No it includes every thing but expendurs same has SA. |
patriot4: I think you might not be up to date on the budget as well.3 billion USD compaid to South africa at under 5 billion. Total uniform force of SANDF is 62,000 permant force, 15,000 reserve and 12,000 civlians So yes you under funded. This has been mentioned before. By the way the SANDF is 2 billion USD under funded. So how bad is the nigerian deffense force(never mind the army) All so I found out a littel piece of infomastion. Nigeria gets and has received for some time over 130 million USD in dirrect milltary forghine AID from america. |
patriot4: The problem is that there was no massif retirement in the Nigerian army, so how do you go from 120000 personnel to 62000in just four years ? Now I have had it with you. The ISS doesn't have access to the number of troops in the Nigerian army. The COAS does. The COAS is notorious for always complaining about the fact that the army size is too small for the size of the nation, so I don't see why he would say the number of troops is higher than what it really is.And the budget is far to small for a army of even 62,000 |
DictatorZAR: We covered this in previous post about the 737.You can use it for external deployment just not to a red zone. Basical you could use it to ferry troops to a safe stageing area in a malil styel campaghine or to peace keeping missions like that of Sudan. They can carry more men but less supplys per man than a C130. All so the comfort level in a boeing is far higher than a C130. |
patriot4: andrewza, your source never carried out the count of Nigerian military personnel, the COAS did. So just be humble. You know that most places that list 120,000 use the iss. Only there source is a 2007 report. The 2011 report says 62,000. I bielfe the current and more up to date source over a army genrial that may of very well been miss informenved, exagrating, lying, including other facotrs extra extra. 62,000 is the current listed force of the 2011 milltary balance of power. Now yes it is out of date but I doubt it will go up by 60,000 in 2 years when it has been on a doward tred to streamline ever since the end of the civil war. 4 divsions and a few extra unpendent units get you to about 50 to 70 thousand. |
Henry120: You were provided with a link to what the chief of army staff stated. Why do you continue to argue over the numbers?Because I trusted those idpendent sources. You can doubt it all you want but I have the PDF infront of me. It says 62.000 in the nigerian army 10,000 in airforce and 8000 in the navy with 80,000 in land based paramilltary and 2000 in maritime paramiltary. Note this is acive dutie. Nigeria may have a reserve force of 60,000 that is not being mentioned. If it is 120,000 that will make the nigerian army really under funded. |
solomon111: you've brought your misinformation to a very moronnic thread.Nigerias army is 62,000 and angola 100,000ISS milltary ballance 2011. Most people(including wikpeadia) use the 2007 ballance of 120,000 in nigerias army. With paramiltary nigerias army is 140,000 |
Nigerias force by roll 1 commposit divssion: 2 motorisied infantry brigades, 1Air born battlion, 1 anmphibos brigade,1 artlylrie brigade and 1 reccons brigade 1 armourd divsion: 1 reccon battlion,1 engerning brigade, 1 artlry brigade, 2 armour brigade 2 mechnized infantry divsions(both the same in set up): 1 engerniring battlion, 1 motorised infantry brigade, 1 mechnized infanrty bridade, 1 reccon battlion, 1 artlry brigade 1 presdsiol guard brigade with 2 guard batllions 1 Air deffense regermint |
Henry120: @Andrewza, nigerian army strength is above 100,000. This is excluding the civil defence corps, whose primary duty is protecting pipelines. Not accordind to iss and janes. |
Henry120: A new chapter began in the history of the Nigerian Air Force as the Minister of State for Defence, Erelu Olusola Obada, yesterday commissioned a commercial aircraft purchased by its personnel. It a good plan I just qustion the need. The boeing not going to land it front line combat zones and if you need to fly troops in a boeing charter a flight. Even the Americans use charterd flights. |
