All these people saying he should have rejected the gift or sold it and given it to the poor, I will honestly like to know whether you have ever rejected a gift that someone gave you (say a new phone, wrist watch, money, laptop etc.) or maybe u accepted it and then sold it and gave the money to the less privileged. Now if you as a person have never done such a thing, then I consider it hypocrisy for you to expect another to do it. This is not about how expensive the gift is: if you have never done it now with somewhat "cheap" gifts, believe me, you can never do it when you receive expensive gifts.
It is an individual's right to accept or reject a gift, which ever one he chooses to do doesn't make him a bad person in the sight of God and reasonable human beings.

Instead of sending his wife to go and collect the money, he should have sent his account details nah! Even if it's a cheque, the man can still pay it in for him

Let your prayer topic be that "God should deliver you from unreasonable & wicked men" like your boss.

@0p: if he's 23/24yrs as u said, then he's no longer a child. In that case u should not be talking about getting him to go live with someone else but finding a way to make him become independent. What level of education does he have? Is it possible for u to make arrangements(financial & otherwise) for him to go learn a skill or something? Encourage him to leave ur mom & go back to his father's house, from there he can be going to the skill aquisition centre.
I think his greatest problem is fear really(fear of ur mom & his future), it has paralyzed him completely. 'cos i can't possibly think of what your mom will do to him if he decides to leave.

@op: From your post's I can deduce that this is not something that happens once in a while(probably when u r angry or hurt)
but more like an everyday occurence; even when u r gisting with them. If this is the case, then my advice will be for you not

Okay on a serious note, It is very annoying when people don't show appreciation after you let them use your property!! You didn't have to release her to them but you being the magnanimous person you are, you did and how do the repay you. . .mot a word of thanks. Some people have no idea what can ungratefulness can cause.

I remember a story my grandma told me, one man released his slaves to go help his friend clear his farm, after the clearing the other man didn't even come calling to say thanks. . .nothing. The slave owner got angry and fought his friend, the small fight between friends turned to all out war and before you know it the whole village razed down by fire, property lost, lives lost. . .all because one person didn't see fit to thank another for releasing his slave. SMH!!

My Advice, don't be angry just take this has a lesson learned. Now you know that next time you won't release your wife to any body until you get assurance they will appreciate your releasing. . .releasion. . .whatever, you get the point, no?

I believe in this situation it should not be a question of the "who" to listen to but the "what" to listen to. That is to say that who to listen to should be determined by the type of advice given (is it good or bad, sensible etc); it doesn't matter whether it's coming from your enemy or friend so long as it will be beneficial to you, you should take heed.
Having said this, in order not to cause problem b/w couples, if what the family is saying makes better sense, then you have got to find a way to convince your spouse. Thats my take on this issue.

Awww...I miss the excitement of watching the Telematch show every saturday evening.
- The numerous nights we will be fighting sleep just b'cos we want to watch "Last Film".
- The days when we will be running around our compd with "guns" (fabricated from sticks)fighting "war"
- The times we climbed orange trees with knives; practicing lick as u peel.
- I miss those days when I used to eat eba from the same plate with my siblings & my mom will be supervising us like mother hen,
Afterwards we will all share one piece of meat.
