I love this song:

Baba we praise you
For all you have done
We remove hair dresses
Ajuwaya praise the Lord.

I learnt it at NCCF.

I attended 2 rural ruggeds & 1 state conference during my service yr.
It was fun sha, especially the last night of the evangelism when we usually did variety night;
with every zone in the state making a presentation of drama, song, choreography, accapella etc. Wow smiley

This is modern day slavery, wickedness of the highest order
@0p: if he's 23/24yrs as u said, then he's no longer a child. In that case u should not be talking about getting him to go live with someone else but finding a way to make him become independent. What level of education does he have? Is it possible for u to make arrangements(financial & otherwise) for him to go learn a skill or something? Encourage him to leave ur mom & go back to his father's house, from there he can be going to the skill aquisition centre.
I think his greatest problem is fear really(fear of ur mom & his future), it has paralyzed him completely. 'cos i can't possibly think of what your mom will do to him if he decides to leave.

As 4 ur mom...let me reserve my comment

Family / Re: He Needs Ur Advice! by Aparche(f): 4:57pm On May 08, 2012
@op advice your bros to go & look for someone else to love & marry, it's obvious the lady in question is not ready to marry. She has other priorities and marriage is probably the last thing on her mind at this point.Unless your bros is willing to take the risk of waiting. There
is no guarantee that she will become ready for marriage by the time she acquires her masters degree & lands a good job.
Family / Re: Should I Let My Cousin Know What I Found Out About Her Fiance by Aparche(f): 4:39pm On May 08, 2012
angryWe are talking about a fiance here people(they are not yet married!). U don't keep quiet about something like this, even if u think she won't believe u.This is someone she's supposed to spend the rest of her life with. Please give your cousin the chance to make an informed decision on whether to go ahead & marry this guy or not.
But, I think her younger sister should be the one to tell her, since she's the one that was nearly molested not you.
Religion / Re: Can Christians Lose Their Salvation? by Aparche(f): 4:25pm On Apr 27, 2012
I tell you, If it were a guarantee that anyone who is saved now, will always be saved (forever!) without the possibility of backsliding or becoming apostate; being a true Christian in this world would have been very easy indeed. The way and gate to life wouldn’t have been so narrow (Matt.7:14), all that would have been required of us would be: to repent- believe in Jesus –accept him into our lives-be baptized & then THAT’S IT! We could then go right ahead to live our lives the way WE WANT (good or bad? doesn’t matter, after all we are already saved). In fact, the devil wouldn’t even have been bothering himself fighting & opposing any Christian; because he will know that whoever is saved is lost to his kingdom forever. But this is not the case; instead believers are in a constant battle with the devil, the world and their flesh. This should be enough to tell you that the devil knows he still has a chance of destroying us.
Brethren, you had better work out your salvation with fear & trembling, and stop believing the lies of the devil. Strive to be HOLY, RIGHTEOUS & GODLY in this present world otherwise you will never see God. Amen
Family / Re: Attitude Issues by Aparche(f): 3:06pm On Apr 24, 2012
@op: From your post's I can deduce that this is not something that happens once in a while(probably when u r angry or hurt)
but more like an everyday occurence; even when u r gisting with them. If this is the case, then my advice will be for you not
to say the first thing that comes to your mind. First of all think about what u want to say & how best to phrase it so that it
doesn't come out as an insult(especially if that's not ur intention).
True, u will seem a little bit slow with ur response, but then with time you would have gotten so used to it that u can talk
to people without un-intentionally saying things that piss them off.

Sisi_Kill:

Lmao! Eleha Jawe!!

Why will she wanna come back to a place where she has to be "released" cheesy cheesy

Okay on a serious note, It is very annoying when people don't show appreciation after you let them use your property!! You didn't have to release her to them but you being the magnanimous person you are, you did and how do the repay you. . .mot a word of thanks. Some people have no idea what can ungratefulness can cause.

I remember a story my grandma told me, one man released his slaves to go help his friend clear his farm, after the clearing the other man didn't even come calling to say thanks. . .nothing. The slave owner got angry and fought his friend, the small fight between friends turned to all out war and before you know it the whole village razed down by fire, property lost, lives lost. . .all because one person didn't see fit to thank another for releasing his slave. SMH!! angry

My Advice, don't be angry just take this has a lesson learned. Now you know that next time you won't release your wife to any body until you get assurance they will appreciate your releasing. . .releasion. . .whatever, you get the point, no?

^^buhahahahahahahahahahaha...I love this
@op: is ur wife a prisoner in her home that u have to "release" her?

Na wa o, me I don't understand this kind thing; people now fear their Church & Pastors more than they fear God.
@op: from your post I can deduce that you are only worried that your Church won't wed u guys if she gets pregnant first,
not that what ur MIL is asking u to do is wrong. So who are u kidding?
Family / Re: Who should a spouse listen to in matters of life and death? Family or the spouse by Aparche(f): 5:14pm On Mar 30, 2012
I believe in this situation it should not be a question of the "who" to listen to but the "what" to listen to. That is to say that who to listen to should be determined by the type of advice given (is it good or bad, sensible etc); it doesn't matter whether it's coming from your enemy or friend so long as it will be beneficial to you, you should take heed.
Having said this, in order not to cause problem b/w couples, if what the family is saying makes better sense, then you have got to find a way to convince your spouse. Thats my take on this issue.

Afterwards we will all share one piece of meat.

When It comes to choosing who to spend the rest of your life with, NEVER GIVE BENEFIT OF DOUBT; you are either 100% sure about the person or u are not. People don't change overnight! If he was treating you like trash when you were not married to him, I wonder how he will treat you if you eventually marry him. Please be wise

Family / Re: What Does It Mean To Be A Submissive Wife. by Aparche(f): 10:18am On Mar 02, 2012
This issue of submission came about because there can't be 2 captains in a ship, just as you don't see 2 CEO's calling the shot in a particular organization; otherwise there will be chaos, a lot of bickering and no progress. I believe this is the same reason why in the Nigerian police force whenever a DIG is promoted to Inspector General, other DIG's are authomatically retired. The person in charge might not necessarily be the smartest, kindest, most loving etc. It just that one person has to call the shot for peace to reign. In marriage, God in his wisdom has decided that the husband should be the one calling the shots while the wife should help him. It doesn't mean the wife has automatically become a door mat, footstool or lost her mind, it's just that there has to be a leader & a follower.

Big bumper

the title of the thread is who wants a baby girl.

This girl is cold blooded.

No, the girl is not cold blooded infact I think she is humane & still has a conscience. If she is cold blooded she would have aborted the baby when she realized she was pregnant(which by the way is a very easy/selfish option) or maybe she could have given birth to the baby, dump her inside one gutter in Lagos & go back to school pretending as if nothing happened (afterall nobody knew she was pregnant). But she didn't do any of these instead she cried out for help. I have heard/read many stories of newborn babies abandoned in unhealthy/unsafe places by their mothers who probably found themselves in the same situation that chioma found herself. I applaud her for having the courage to do the right thing.

I want to thank everyone who has helped & is helping this girl in her quest to do what's best for her baby, may God bless y'all.

Yes I have made up my mind but what is going to be my reason for ending the marriage. There are lots of people involved, his family, mine, what do i tell them. He has not done anything wrong how would i justify such a big move

Do you have Children? (I hope not), I think you are making a big mistake; why should you leave him just b'cos you don't feel any more "spark" in your marriage considering that he's trying so hard to make it work. How sure are you that the "spark" with the other guy will last.

@poster: Is your dad bedridden or , (just curious) 'cos 10yrs seems a long time for him not to have found something doing. It looks as if he has given up & chosen the lazy[s][/s]easy way out; leaving all responsibility for the wife. The way I see it, your mom cannot bear the additional responsibility of getting a house/apartment for your family & the insult will definitely keep coming until y'all pack out. So what can YOU do to help? (are u still Schooling? How old are u?). May be you can ginger your dad to rise up & be a man.

Family / Re: My Mom's Elder Sister Is Threathening To Throw My Family Out Of Her House by Aparche(f): 8:47am On Jan 05, 2012
@poster this your story is one sided, you are just trying so hard to portray your aunt as a very BAD person & garner sympathy for your family. Guess what? It is not working. You even sound as if you expected your "WICKED AUNT" to have completed her house, sunk a borehole & if possible put in a generator 4 your family to use (rent free). Wake up dear! your aunt has tried for your family big time, you didn't expect to live in HER house forever did you? She has to complete that building & she can't do that while y'all are still squatting there, can she?
Family / Re: How Poverty Made Me Abandon Assault Case On My 12-yr-old Daughter –victim’s Moth by Aparche(f): 8:19am On Jan 05, 2012
I don't blame the woman for deciding to settle out of court (though I felt that she should have pushed for a higher settlement, 30k is too small), I blame our justice system that is too slow in prosecuting cases. Who knows how long this case would have lasted (maybe 10yrs)and the woman would have had to be wasting money on transporation coming from Enugu to Lagos & back each time the case is adjourned. And of course with the recent hike in cost of transportation how could she have coped. I believe she wouldn't have settled if she was residing in Lagos.
