Dearlord:I'm telling you! Nairaland is a microcosm of the Nigerian society. Full of evil, wickedness, vileness and hypocrisy. When you read people's comments here you understand why Nigeria is the way it is. Buhari is not the problem. |
https://www.nairaland.com/6048178/reality-every-guy-need-know/1308#111259797 Why do you people enjoy telling lies on this platform...@op are you not the same person that made the above post on March 22. |
I'm currently working with my best boss remotely... she's an African American that runs a digital marketing agency in US. She's very gentle, gracious and really cares about the people that work for her. If you don't know or understand something she will schedule a zoom meeting and take her time to teach you. She's ready to do everything within her capacity to help you solve your problem, even if it's not work related. Early this month, I nearly lost access to a foreign Copywriting course I had been paying for online because of CBN policy of max. $20/month for naira debit card. I told her my problem, and begged her to help me complete the last payment of $297 for the course so that I won't lose all the previous payment I already made as well as the course itself. She agreed, and helped me complete the purchase and then deducted the money from my salary at the end of the month. One thing I love about her, if you perform a task well she will praise you sotey your head go swell. And she keeps thanking and appreciating us for the work that we do... meanwhile she's paying us o! Our meeting last Monday was an emotional one as she burst into tears when telling us how much we meant to her, that she loves us and feel blessed working with us. I told her that she's my ideal boss, and that honestly I look forward to our meetings. And my heart doesn't skip a beat on Mondays. And I'm not the only person that feels this way about her, today she wasn't around for our meeting so my Pakistani colleague was telling us that she misses her and that she had a dream about her. We were all saying how much we missed hearing her voice. Even her voice sef is soothing... I don't want this post to be too lengthy but I'm just so thankful to God for connecting me to such a wonderful woman. |
thesicilian:Life is not always black or white, most times there are a lot of grey areas. This situation may have nothing to do with her abandoning her baby to pursue a career. It's could be a case of survival. I have a cousin who left her job after she became pregnant, her husband had lost his job many years prior to this & was doing nothing. After she gave birth, that was when her suffering started... getting money to feed herself and her other children became a problem. She resorted to begging money to feed. Her husband could not hustle to provide for his family...he depended on this same woman. At a point, her other children stopped going to school 'cos no money to pay school fees. Starting a business was difficult 'cos she had a fragile baby + no money. I'm telling you all these because when a new mom takes her fragile baby to a creche just so she can go back to work...her survival, and that of her children may actually depend on it. Do not be quick to judge people when you have no idea what they're passing through. |
@Op... your husband is in bondage, so don't even hold your breath expecting him to change. It's not going to happen now 'cos he has not made up his mind to break out of his addiction. That said... I know you're frustrated, that's why you're thinking about divorce. However focusing on divorce will prevent you from thinking about other ways to solve your problem. Trust me there's a way you can get around the problem of him not contributing anything. If your husband is a salary earner, discuss with him about you receiving a certain percentage of his salary every month...this will be used to run the household. (It's obvious that you should be handling the finances in your home...) Then both of you should visit his bank and let him get a standing order that allows them to automatically debit a percentage of his salary and deposit it into your account as soon as he get's paid. This way he won't have the chance to use all the money for gambling... he can use any amount that you guys agree to leave for him to fund his addiction. Any right thinking man who means well for his family will definitely agree to this. However, if he refuses this suggestion... that's when you should consider "abandoning the ship"... otherwise he'll end up drowning all of you in the sea of poverty. |

God be praised! I thank God for your life. |
NovesaTillie:What is wrong with you? Have men finished in this world that you should be considering your sister's husband? If your sister was late, it would have been ok, but she's alive for crying out loud! Even if your sister is cause of their marital issue, it doesn't mean you should jump at the opportunity to take her place. You should warn your sister's husband to stop visiting you...'cos I'm sure you're the reason he doesn't want to reconcile with his wife. I can't even believe you're considering it No matter how good he is, please be wise. |
MartinsD12:It's now a crime to be wealthy abi? Which one is lavish display of wealth...do you live with her? Was it not in her bedroom that she kept all these things? You're indirectly justifying the girls behaviour... |
Solofresh2:To understand this scripture, you need to understand the 3 types of death, so you'll know the one that particular scripture is referring to. Let's begin: First, Death in scripture means separation from the original purpose. There are 3 types of death in scripture: 1) Physical Death: Separation of your inner man (soul/spirit) from your outer man (body). Every human being dies physically, whether you're a child of God or not. If the wages or payment for sin is physical death, it means that anyone who dies physically has automatically paid for his sin, and would have to go to heaven. Irrespective of how he lived his life. We know that this is not true, based on scripture. Verdict: The wages of sin is NOT physical death. 2) Spiritual Death: This is the state of a living man in sin... it's the default state of every human being who has reached an age of accountability. It means the separation of man from God & the life of God while that man is still alive physically . If the wages of sin is spiritual death, it means that as long as you're living in sin and separated from God, you have paid for your sin...and so God would have no choice but to allow you into heaven after your life end on earth. It then means that every sinner will go to heaven automatically at physical death while children/babies who didn't have time to sin before dying physically will go to hell. Absurd right? We know that this is not true... otherwise the death of Jesus Christ is in vain. Verdict: The wages of sin is NOT spiritual death. 3) Eternal Death: this is the separation of man from God and the life of God for eternity after physical death. It simply means that it will take you forever to receive your just payment for all your sins... In order words, God who is just and doesn't like owing anybody will only become satisfied that He has paid you fully... AFTER eternity. So you'll be separated from God, His life and His goodness forever...and the only location where we cannot find God or His goodness is Hell...this is why man has to spend his period of eternal separation here. Verdict: The wages or payment for sin is Eternal death or eternal separation from God in hell. |
The decision to invest 60k for a Copywriting course is the best decision I took this year... The ROI has been worth it... |
Klass99:Funny enough it's mostly the females on this platform that are quarreling with her about her decision, you can even feel their hatred for the op...nawa o! She has her preferences and wisely brought it up during courtship... it's now left for the other party to go along with it or they go their separate ways. Abeg what crime has she committed? All I can see is that many people calling her names and casting aspersions are speaking from a place of personal dislike or hatred for the op. |
Tareq1105:They are showing the classic characteristics of envious people. |
MISSCONGENIALITY:Exactly...I don't understand why you would give a person a gift that is of no use to the person. Where do you want her to keep the flowers? Does an average Nigerian have flower vase in their house? You give her a gift that will wither the next day & be thrown away... what's the point? |
Op...I can deduce from your post that you need some space, you're tired of seeing her at home 24/7, so you are pushing her to go out and start something. But has it occurred to you that your wife (just like me) may not be the type of person that likes doing business? Well...at least offline. I'm sure she will prefer office work, but the problem as you said is that all the interview she attended has not yielded any results... actually, the fact that she attends interviews is proof that she really wants to work. As for travelling to the East for Masters, I can bet you that the reason she doesn't want to go is because she's pregnant...she can't imagine carrying pregnancy & running around for lectures at the same time. I have a feeling that your wife is introverted, and doesn't like stressing herself much...if so, then she's very much like me. My advice is this, since the normal office work she desires is not forthcoming, you can introduce her to the concept of remote work. In this day and age, she can work as an admin assistant, teacher, call center agent, writer remotely. All she needs is to get the requisite skills. One thing I'm sure of is that there must be something that your wife enjoys doing. If you identify her interest, she can be trained and offer her services remotely. |
Oh Lord I pray for this young lady Mirabel... strengthen her in this moment of weakness. Please do not let this single lapse of judgement on her part to be the end of her... because that's what the evil one wants. Help her to come out stronger and better. And most importantly, draw her close to you at this time. May she fulfill your purpose for creating her...in Jesus name I pray. |
slawormiir:Stop deceiving yourself. You and the people liking and sharing your post. I know it makes you feel good to believe that some how everyone who's making money is into shady deals like you. But that's not true. |
nanceeleecious:How To Write Effective Proposals on Freelance Platforms (using Upwork & Fiverr as case study) Long Post Alert... Before I start, here are 2 things you should take note of: i) Avoid using generic copy and paste templates to send proposals...I know it's faster and easier for you, but it doesn't work. ii) Write personalized proposal for every job post...the content should be dependent on the job post by the client. I know it's not easy...and it will be time consuming. But if you want clients coming into your inbox to discuss further, then your proposal had better stand out. Now let's get into it: 1) Address your proposal to the person that posted the job... mention the person's name (if possible). Instead of writing, Hi there, Dear Sir/Madam, Hi, Hello Ma,... Do a little bit of research to get the person's name...on Fiverr you will clearly see the username of the buyer. It may not be their real name...use it like that. On Upwork, if the person has hired & received reviews from other freelancers, if you scroll down, you may see where they mentioned the person's name. If not...you can go ahead and use --- Hi there! 2) Show the client that you actually read and understood their post...the best way to do this is to repeat exactly what they want... For instance if the client posted something like: I'm looking for someone to help me research and write the first lines for my cold emails outreach. I'll provide you with a list of contacts and their data, and your job would be to bla bla bla. In your proposal, you can start by saying: Hello Karl, I see that you're looking for someone to help you research and write the first lines for your cold emails outreach...then get into the body of your proposal. 3) Body of the Proposal: The first thing to do here is to demonstrate to the client that you can do the job... The best way to do this especially if you're a newbie with no sample and review would be to talk about the process... that's a run down of how you'll do the job. Just a short summary will suffice... If you have done similar job, tell them about it and post the link to a related sample. Afterwards, you can talk about yourself and your qualifications or skill set. 4) Make life easy for your clients: Post a link of your portfolio or sample in your proposal...as against attaching your sample at the bottom and expecting the client to start downloading it, especially if you're using Upwork. Note: You should save your samples in google drive...if you want to show only one sample, you can copy the link to that particular sample. If you want to show the client your whole portfolio, copy the drive url. 5) Always end with a Call To Action...eg Send me a message, let's discuss further about your project. Do these, and hopefully more clients will come into your inbox. |
temi4fash:To get remote job, you need the following: 1) A skill: what service(s) can you offer? Example: graphic design, web design/development, UI/UX design, 3D-animation, social media management, data entry, lead generation, copy/content writing, proof reading/editing, transcription, appointment setting, Admin Assistantetc...there are so many services you can render. If you don't have any skill, I'll advise you to choose one based on your interest & the need for it in the market and learn it. 2) A Laptop: the type you should get depends on the skill...if you're into programming or 3d animation, & maybe graphic design you need a higher grade laptop than if you're into writing. 3)High speed Internet: You can buy a modem, use wifi, etc whatever works for you. 4) Dedicated work space in your home/room: basically comfortable table & chair, so you don't develop back pain. After getting all these things, you can then do the following: 5) Sign up to Freelance Marketplaces such as Upwork, Fiverr, People Per Hour, Freelancer...there are so many of them. 6) You can focus on any two of these...set up your profile and optimize. And be truthful while at it...if you're from Nigeria, state that as your Country and use your real name... 7) Start sending proposals on these platforms everyday...send as many as you can, it's a game of numbers. It won't be easy initially because you're just starting out, but if you're consistent you will get clients. And most times, if you do a great job for them, they will keep coming back to patronize you...some may even Also on some of these platforms, you'll see some agencies or businesses advertising for positions... if you apply and get the job, you don get guaranteed long term remote job be that. 7) For payment: Most of these marketplaces have escrow services, which means your client pays money to them, they take their share and give you the rest...you can link your local bank account to receive your funds. You can open a Payoneer account, you can open a domiciliary account etc...there are so many you can get your money. Finally, anyone can do remote work... it's not for a special group of people. Just set your mind on it, and gradually it will start falling into place. |
Tunagee:I don't care whether you claim to be Christian, Moslem, Atheist, Agnostic... One thing I can deduce from your comment is that you're EVIL. Your heart is FULL of WICKEDNESS. |
Abeg where did this idea that it's a taboo for siblings from one family to marry siblings from another family come from? As long as it's not the same bloodline there's nothing wrong with it. My dad and his younger brother (same father & mother), married my mom and her half sister (same father, different mother's) respectively. And they were all from the same village, but different kindreds and families. |
OtemAtum:In the grand scheme of things, your opinion doesn't matter neither does my opinion matter...the Truth will always remain the truth. And there's nothing we can do about it. |
Speakright79:Nawa o! This one you are already abusing & insulting the mother. Please where is it written that it was the mother that took the child to the school? It says 'a parent' took the child to school...it never mentioned which parent. |
Pegi23:And you sound like you're jealous! That you will never have what she has...even in your dreams. |
Anuoluwa12345:Kindly note that Master of Science in Public Health degree (Msc. PH) is different from Master of Public Health (MPH) degree. The first one is more advisable if you're pursuing a career in Academic field... The other one is a core professional degree. |
Hmmm....this is a dicey situation. Op...since your dad have not finished paying some previous loans he took. Just assume that you're the person that will end up repaying any loan that you take for him... because he may not have money to pay when the time comes. If you take 500k loan from any Nigerian bank you will end up paying 800k or more including interest... probably for a period of 2 years or more. And they will be deducting nothing less than 30k from your salary every month... it's likely going to be more than this amount. The question is...can you survive on 40k or less every month? If you're taking loan better take an amount that you can repay easily... Don't go and put yourself in a situation that would make you resent or hate your father, especially if he's unable to keep his word. And for those saying that your Father suffered for you. Well, it's his DUTY as a parent to train you & your siblings either in school or to acquire a handiwork... otherwise he shouldn't have given birth to you. |
akus6060:It's this mindset that keep many of you from taking opportunities that would literally transform your lives. The erroneous thinking that "If it's working for him, why is he revealing it to people instead of keeping it to himself. And why is he charging money...blablabla" Do you think every body is selfish? Don't you know that there are people whose desire is to teach others what they know?...people who love to lift others up. They're not afraid of competition because they know that the sky is wide enough for every kind of bird to fly at the same time. And of course, they have to charge money because most times people don't place much value on anything they are given free of charge. God knows that if I had this your mentality, I wouldn't be where I am now...in my Copywriting journey. The person that taught me Copywriting has made so much money with the skill, but he chose to start a copywriting academy. And he's charging a lot of money to teach people the same skill. Honestly, I thank God for the money I paid, 'cos if it was free of charge, I would have abandoned the program... because of how intensive & difficult it is. A program I thought will take me 6 weeks, I've still not completed it... although I'm almost done. But I can see the results: I was able to set up & optimize some gigs on Fiverr by June...earned $40 in July, $68 in August, and this Sept. I've earned $97 so far... All by just applying what I learned to execute few gigs ...this is someone that knew absolutely nothing about copywriting. At least I've recouped my investment...and I know it will keep increasing. So Bros. remove that mindset & goan learn a skill...you can even use YouTube to learn FOC. Forgive the long epistle. |
cucumbar:Unfortunately, that's the society we've found ourselves...evil is now good, and good is evil. |
wink2015:It seems you didn't read the post. He is not trekking. He is using Motorcycle to supply the bread to customers. But the quantity he can carry at a go is too small & he has to keep going back to the bakery for more. And he says that sometimes by the time he gets be there the bread has finished. What he needs is a car or a (distribution van) to scale his business. I pray he gets one soon. He's on the right track. |

"She wants to change, that why she wants to get married"... Op, so you believe marriage will change her? Marriage doesn't change anybody! And you cannot change her. What you're seeing now, you will see worse when you guys marry. Unless you have no problem with all these things you've discovered about her, and can live with it. Otherwise...I see you complaining that you're not happy in your marriage. This I have seen! |
Op...why not look for job during holidays and make your own money, even if it's peanut. At least it will help you appreciate the fact that it's not easy to make money. And it's also not easy to spend money you've suffered to make anyhow... |
MartinsD12:It beats my imagination how you can conclude that someone you don't know personally is evil & unforgiving just because she chose not to talk about her husband's murder publicly. You people just read something on social media about someone you don't know and based on what you've read, start speaking evil, and accusing that person. It's not good! |
Blakjewelry:I want to answer this question. Warning: This is going to be a very long read. But it will help us understand certain things... Man is a spirit, has a soul and lives in a body. Your spirit is not like smoke or vapour, rather it's the inner man and it looks exactly like your physical being...it is immortal (this means that it can never cease to exist.) What you call touch neurons are part of your soul; which is the centre of your feelings & emotions. Your soul is also immortal, just like your spirit. Your body on the other hand is mortal; it will die, decay and cease to exist. But while it is still alive, it is the container of your spirit/soul. Let me explain to you how it works: When you're alive, your soul gravitates more towards your physical body to allow you experience the earthly realm (this world). As a result you can feel pain, pleasure, sadness, joy, understand things, remember people, taste food, enjoy sex etc...the soul makes all these possible. However, after you die (remember it's only your body that dies...), your soul will then gravitate towards your spirit. Don't forget that your spirit looks exactly like your physical body...same form, shape, colour. So, just as was the case with your physical body, your soul will enable your spirit to experience the spiritual realm (heaven or hell). As a result, even though your life has ended in the earthly realm, you will find yourself alive in another realm (either in heaven or in hell). Depending on which part of these spiritual realms you find yourself, you will still feel pain, pleasure, joy, sadness, hunger, thirst, remember things, regret, gladness etc... your soul makes all these possible. The difference between the earthly and spiritual realms is that on earth your soul allows you to experience both the good and the bad things.... you can be happy one moment & sad the next, in pain today & enjoying yourself the next day. And it's temporary. But in the spiritual realm you can only experience the good OR the bad. If you're in heaven you will experience only the good. If you're in hell, you will experience only the bad. And it is for eternity. Think about how you feel when you're experiencing good and pleasurable things; you don't want it to end. But when you're experiencing bad or horrible things you want it to stop or go away. Then think about eternity in either heaven or hell. Which one would you prefer? If you want to enjoy pleasure and all the good stuff forever, there's only one way to ensure that... Jesus Christ is the way. All of us, based on our nature are supposed to end up in hell when we die... irrespective of how good you think you are. If you don't want that for yourself, you have to ask Jesus Christ to save you. And you must do it now that you're still alive. When you die physically, it becomes too late. This is why Jesus Christ came, died and rose again....so that you don't have to go to hell. But then, it's your decision to make. Call upon Jesus Christ now and be saved! |
