PoliticsRe: Jonathan Creates New Office, Appoints Tukur As 'Ambassador At Large' by apolonius(m): 10:59am On Jul 25, 2014
From PDP chair to NRC chair and Ambassador-at-large. Fresh air right?

Well, this same man's family oil company is being tried for claiming over 100 Billion Naira in subsidy for oil it never supplied.

Does Mr Jonathan understand that there should be honour even among thieves?

To think that some morons who can barely feed and are jobless spend vast energy celebrating this administration is to agree with Mr Tunde Bakare that "it takes a nation of fools to be led by idiots!"

cococandy: Too bad for them if they don't have anyone better than him to field.

He may have worked then, but now he won't
Political calculations are premised on practical dynamism. More than ever, this election will be conducted around ethnic calculations. Just as most Igbos and South-Southerners will vote for Jonathan so will most Hausa-Fulanis vote for a Buhari.

The APC strategy is to give its VP slot to the South-West. Will the average Yoruba man, who feels that until lately Jonathan has neglected them in political patronage, now vote for Jonathan's re-election when there is a Yoruba candidate? The answer is obvious. Buhari has learnt that the South won't vote for him no matter what, practical politics if played well will give the APC victory.

We are not soothsayers, but remember all I have shared in few months.
PoliticsRe: Nasir El-rufai Criticizes GEJ For Trying To Save Al Makura's Asss by apolonius(m): 10:21am On Jul 25, 2014
The op is a very ignorant head. What is your concept of proven cases of corruption? The law is clear that only a court of law can find someone guilty of financial crimes. Did the courts prove these guys?

Nyako was governor for over 7 years as a member of the PDP who aggressively supported Jona's election. He wasn't corrupt until he defected and wrote his memo.

I hate dark clouded minds and their politics of bigotry. You guys are why Nigeria is ruined!
Bleep off!

cococandy: Nigerian politics!

Anyway buhari knows better than to embarrass himself contesting come 2015.
If they have a better candidate good and fine. Let's watch and see.

If na buhari,it's a big shame.
The truth is that if you know the average Hausa-Fulani,you will know that only Buhari can get their votes.

In all the elections he has contested for,he has gotten 12m votes on the average even when Lagos with its 6m votes and Rivers with their millions didn't vote for him.Mind you, this was the days of his 'one man squad' approach to politics.

So imagine what will happen to the APC without him. If he is not given the ticket, then the APC must make sure he is at the forefront of its campaigns around the North. Otherwise, another lost chance for the opposition.

Goon, I will unfortunately be watching my countrymen continue to suffer and die for the next four years for not listening to warnings.
In the past election, we warned that this failure from Bayelsa stands for status quo and nothing to offer, no one listened but preferred to vote for the fool simply because he once had no shoes. now we have in our hands the death of innocent Nigerians never seen since the civil war.
Well, never have Nigerians had it this bad. February 2015 will see the end of this administration in legitimate way!

How will you get any meaningful result from the investigation when the perpetrator of evil is the one appointing investigators?

We have no clue about the people behind boko haram because the boko backers and financiers are the ones controlling security agencies.
I was just being sarcastic. Our president does not get the demands of leadership and he is doing very badly with all the resources, assets and authority he has.

5minsmadness: In my experience most people that report such cases without hard evidence have the case turned back on them. Its a family member you are reporting not a stranger! The impulse is to believe the person you have known all your life instead of the new member of the family.
I think its better to discreetly report yo someone you are close to and trust, and then either avoid or seek concrete evidence first.
Personally, I will prefer an immediate report than my wife or daughter doing any other thing which I will react to in clear and unforgettable ways.

FamilyRe: How Soon After The Death Of A Spouse To Start A New Relationship? by apolonius(m): 2:23pm On Jul 24, 2014
For love, respect her demise and don't jump into a relationship soon.

If there are kids involved, take some time except the kids start mounting pressures on you to do so.This has happened with both young and grown kids.

For practical purposes, even if you see the NEED to begin another relationship try to avoid it for awhile as in-laws and those who know you and the late will draw funny conclusions if you do otherwise.

If you decided to after a year or two,let it be covert initially and not full blown.

By the way,a pastor of Redeemed Church in one of their posh parishes in Lagos married a known fashion businesswoman and Vanguard columnist who was close to his late wife after 6 months of her death. You can imagine the impact and the field day the gossip media had!smiley
FamilyRe: How Do You Handle S*xual Harassment By Your In-laws? by apolonius(m): 2:17pm On Jul 24, 2014
The right thing to do is to immediately report him or her. Every other 'I will avoid' or 'I go set am up' will backfire somehow. Why?Well, such a person won't back out and will look for ways to get at you.

Just report the person. It is not just the right thing to do,it what loyalty and trust demand.

It is such a shame that with the many billions it gets monthly and a matchless IGR running into Billions monthly,Bayelsa state only has one major road that is tarred in the whole state and especially Yenagoa.

cococandy: Which of the APc guys do you think is patriotic?

I'll solidly be behind any serious opposition party that truly champions change.
Afterall I was born into PDP and I haven't seen much come out of it since my birth.
The folks in APC now are still the same ones who were in PDP and helped keep this country in the state that it currently is.

I have a very hard time vouching for the sincerity of this APC.
Not with all the circus acts they bring to the table.
How have they shown they are different from PDP?
This answers why I will settle for the APC. Please, keep an open mind and ignore all the propaganda and politics on both ends and read.

Jagadan:though comprehensively corrupt, but this guy has consciously kept Nigeria from the abyss that a one-party state is. With the Afenifere politics of adoption of Obj that wrecked the AD in 2003,this guy will win the sole trophy of keeping the West and some parts of the South East and South South within the spotlight of national politics. But even Cardinal Macinkus said the Catholic Church is not ran on 'Hail Mary' alone. If you think politics is not some exceptionally expensive shit ask the Koch brothers how much they have spent keeping the Republican party a competitive one in America.

He again has thrown up some guys who have done some MODEST things around. Fashola in the first class;then Aregbe,Ekiti,Ajimobi and Amosun in the second class.Throw away the baby with the dirty bath water?smiley

Buhari: held the highest posts in Nigeria with only a house in Kaduna,Daura and a little one with a loan from Unity Bank only 4 years ago in Abuja. Until the insecurity became wholesale, this guy drove himself around.

Now,this fearless man is one man who can lead a reparation and very comprehensive laundry of Naija from corruption. I was at the Law school in Abuja with his daughter,Jona's recently married girl and the kids of some governors. It will interest you to know the opulence all showed but Buhari's. She had a little merc wagon to the convoys of the others. She even failed Bar 1 exams even while living in the home of the second highest ranking official of the law school.smiley

Kwankwaso: Kano today has the best infrastructure for pre-university education which is free, and all Kano indigenes studying in unis across the world are funded by the state. The governor goes on tour to check on them from Babcock and Bells unis in Ogun to the US and the UK. Over 80 percent of his annual budget goes to development with over 55 percent going into education.

Kano boasts some quality infrastructure than most states in Nigeria. The governor is also building 3 new cities of Amanabo,Kwankwassiya and one other-87 percent completed-to decongest Kano metropolis.

Sam Nda-Isaiah: he is visionary, angry and a leader anyday who as a pharmacist started and runs Leadership newspaper. His monday column in same espouses the most visionary ideas that I know of in transforming Nigeria.

He is an APC presidential candidate, and he is such a guy for Nigeria's heart.

El-Rufa: I left him to the last because he has no political ambition. For a start, please read Olusegun Adeniyi's column in Thisday newspaper today on how the present pension reforms and PenCom came about. A tribute to this highly misunderstood man.

Also, check who co-ordinated the Obj government's telecom reforms that has brought us civilization and jobs. Yes,it was this short man as BPE chair and secretary of the privatization processing unit. I have used others for your objective assessment of this guy,but his Accidental Public Servant memoir is a book I will recommend to every Nigerian. Let go of the propaganda and read it,it will enlighten and shock you more than anything ever written on Nigeria.

More importantly, from the days of Jerry Useni as minister of the FCT till now,El-Rufai has made Abuja a real national capital. Painful consequences for a loud few it had,but his legacies remain visible everywhere. Abuja moved from being a dustbin to a citadel of development and modern metropolis. From its transportation to its infrastructure, from its sanitization to its economic opening. This guy did much.

The poor cried as his victims, but even Ahmadu Ali as PDP chair and Ezeife as Obj's political adviser had their houses demolished! Ibori's house in Yakubu Gowon crescent was on the next list before this guy and Ribadu, whom I have left out as I am tired of typing, were sent off by Yar'Adua whose emergence they facilitated.

By the way,the replacement of Odili with Mr Jonathan as Yar'Adua's running mate was done by Ribadu and El-Rufai pressuring Obj in the wee hours of the day Yar'adua emerged as PDP candidate.

Some perspective on the propaganda, politics and fate of the APC and its leaders!smiley
FamilyRe: What Should He Do? by apolonius(m): 10:30am On Jul 24, 2014
What did he do that a loving wife will abandon him and the kids to run into vast uncertainty? I qualified her as 'loving' because it takes some love to have conceived, kept and raised kids! Did he abuse her?

Well,he should move on as she is sure to face the justice of time.Time is one phenomenon I know that delivers the most assured justice. She will come back pleading in no long a time. Of course,if he has not consistently hurt her. As men we easily take our prized women for granted until the consequences are too late to manage.

In the interim, find love again and pay attention to the kids psyche to be sure they are healing from her 'porting'. Yes,genuinely find love again as this is one thing I know that shatters any ex.smiley
FamilyRe: Untold Stories Of Single Mothers by apolonius(m): 10:02am On Jul 24, 2014
cococandy: It is in this time.
First and second daughters are just new wives and mothers now.
Last kid is still in secondary school. I dey admire the woman's strength.

The other one I know is our tenants here she has four sons. Big boys. Well groomed and the replica of what good sons should be.you wouldn't meet those guys and not wonder who raised them. Two of them even served as grooms men at my wedding.

So even though I don't like single parenthood or encourage it,I don't think it is as bad as we hype it to be.. At least the kids have peace away from the abusive parent.
It sure has its value;a woman's emotional intelligence and loving nurturing can raise great kids. However, there are things only a father's presence can build. Not in all cases, but there is always some comma somewhere in the lives of the kids raised by just a parent-man or woman. Yes,God introduced Eve to Adam before there was the 'knowing themselves' bit.

Of course,a clearly abusive union or relationship is a no no. Rather a single parent than a victim of 'evil love'.
PoliticsRe: APC Petitions Jonathan, Alleges Plot To Kill Aregbesola by apolonius(m): 9:58am On Jul 24, 2014
cococandy: I don't debate Nigerian politics because to me all of them politicians are the same.

I've not even said he's the ideal president any country can have. Far from it.
All I know is that compared to the others before him(except obasanjo) he's doing the job to a reasonable extent. Just that everyone is fixated on the negatives.

If there's one thing I know it is that APC is not better than PDP so they should stop disturbing us with their hypocritical 'change'
They are all birds of a feather.

Besides there's only so much security you can give to people who don't want it.

My opinion is that he's not a bad person. Definitely not as tough as I'd like him to be but he's not evil
On security, the late Azzazi who was his confidante and should know better as a National Adviser did announce the PDP as its source and nurse. Mr President too also announce Boko Haram as members of his government. How does it become a 'them' thing dear?

From the trillions looted in the name of subsidy claims by many oil companies-e.g.Sea Petroleum claimed about 475 Billion Naira on what it never supplied-and the failure in decisively dealing with this and many other corruption instances including the earlier mentioned,Mr President is rather courting than fighting his corrupt acolytes. How do I mean?

Well,Tukur's family oil company ran by his son claimed over 200 Billion Naira on fuel they never supplied, same did Ahmadu Ali's family company ran by his son too. However, while the former was PDP chair,he has since emerged as NRC chair and a global Ambassador-at-large Jona made him;the latter has led PPRC,NUC board,South East Health Delivery with his man-slapping and now disgraced wife, and Jona's key choice to rep the PDP at the last National Conference.

Now,what employment creation machinery has this government set up?Millions are unemployed and staying aggressive crime workers and actors. Is this a serious government?

He knew the challenges and problems of the country when he begged and campaigned to be voted in,what clear things has he done to tackle them with all the resources and authority his office give him?

Democracy yields no quality dividends without power transfer and transition. Transition purifies democracy of its personality-centred growth culture and encourage the strengthening of its public institutions. The PDP has not delivered the core fuel for a progressive nation-building for us since 1999,let there be a transition. Personally,I see some of these APC guys as more progressive, patriotic and serious than anyone in the PDP.
