To me the challenges involved in building construction lies solely on the Engineer or contractor employed to oversee such project....

I have a building am constructing now, I gave the Client my estimate but on getting to site , which I thought has a very good firm laterite soil beneath, I notice some parts are full of loosed natural soils after going 1.2m down on excavation work.....

What did I do? I ran a video and told the client that the estimate won't work again with what am seeing ....

That he should prepare for an increase in the estimate which he didn't take likely , saying he has delivered all I told him to do....

And being a Professional, I didn't go with his words , I fired the works , instead of 4 inches weak blinding , I changed it to solid Concrete mixture and increased it to 9 inches blinding and it took much materials .....and that's how I changed the positioning of column base, added more column base as well,....and the Client started shouting .....

I had to even do double reinforcement beams at places that require such ground beam chaining and it gave me what I wanted at Foundation stage ...

So in all, as a Professional into building construction, you have to follow your client Psychologically, emotionally and physically inorder to best him at his pressure, so you can give him the best that won't cause the worst later .....

Today, the client had adjusted to the demands the site gave me than myself adjusting to the pressure he gave me ....

Am now running a good understanding with him ( my client )

The Client of the building hired himself as the contractor who also hired himself as the structural Engineer and a builder to build his house .....

May be he also got his building plans by hiring himself as well instead of an Architect....

So in summary, he is the Architect, the Client, the Structural Engineer and as well as builder...
