My fear is that it might be too late now. Too much time wasted already. Little achieved. Too many fault lines now. More coming up daily. Unity could some become just wishful thinking. Any negative action in one part of Nigeria now could cause a serious negative reaction in other places quickly. IPOB, Oduduwa, ND groups, Arewa Youth and more. We have never had so many groups itching for action at the same time in 9ja history. And Boko is still menacing & regrouping. Herdsmen everywhere too. Our leaders should wake up. Parotting old tired lines just seem lame now, |
pcguru1:True sometimes. But I was answering a guy who doubted my write up. Asking if I was Brad Pitt. In my case we both worked in same place. So I was not much economically better off than the girl. In an environment where poverty is not so profound like a Western country, as in my case, economic power is not as big a factor as it might be in 9ja for example. |
Nutase:The guy na "original barbarosa". ![]() You know African genetics has such a wide variation. The variation among Africans is wider than what genetically separate Africans in general from Europeans. Hard to believe but very established now. OCA2 gene mutation renders a black person to albino. So skin colour gene is fairly small. Far smaller that HLA gene of immune system, the one that enable us accept or reject an organ transplant. You'll not see on the surface the work or the large HLA gene, but skin colour caused by a relatively small melanin gene has resulted in how we have divided mankind into races and the consequences such as racism, slavery, etc. |
fumiswtpusy:Lol. Surprisingly, not the most handsome guys always marry the prettiest girls. If not look around you. Even if you are average looking, you can date a very pretty girl if you both see daily, such as in workplace. She gets to know you. Baba Onikeke's wife might just look "prettier" than a banker's wife. I have seen many. Guess what? The pretty girl has most likely "tasted" the very handsome guys. If you are solid, genuine and confident in your worldview, the babe who has "seen" those handsome guys could see things in you that she has not seen in those guys. Especially when she begins thinking about settling down. In diaspora that I had my experience, some Senegalese guys that are so dark you think they rubbed charcoal on their skin are married to pretty oyinbo doctors, lawyers, etc. And those African brothers can barely even read. |
iluvdonjazzy:That was always her mistake: not joining APC. If even Orubebe who was ready to cause agro during 2015 election results collation can beome APC's angel (new creation), why can't Diezani just join the broom-wielding Harry Potters? ![]() |
Funlordjnr:We're totally awful in 9ja with interior design. How can you clutter a house like that? It is simply choking. No space. Furniture everywhere. Gees! |
misscrystals:Spirit wives ko, masquerade/egungun wives ni. It is not at all unusual to feel such hate. In fact it is one of the reasons some guys womanize a lot. Thinking they have now definitely found the girl they love. But same happens after sex. Once you have "conquered" her, your hunter instinct is to get a "fresh" one. Fact is that you have not really fallen in love with a girl. Not even the latest you are "planning future reference with", whatever that means. I feared same feeling so much that I turned down two/three girls who were all over me. One as a teenager, and another was a work colleague years later. I confided in a female friend about the work colleague. That she was really pretty and most guys at work toast her but she refused them. That as shapely & pretty as she was, I had no feelings for her. Though because we were so close, everyone called us bf & gf. But we were NOT. The female friend advised me not to date her or be intimate with her. That she'd could trap me with a pregnancy. I called her one day and told her the truth. That I had no feelings for her. She'd not even speak to me after that. She looked sick for a few weeks. The second work colleague seemed like "donatus" in that she had two other guys, gleaned from talking to her. Maybe even more. She liked me but was not in love with me. She had the most curvy shape you could find. And tall. ALL work colleagues toasted her. ALL. And she told me so. And asked why I never toasted her. Really, people yearn for something seemingly out of reach. It took the Grace of God not to bang her one day. Very close. Before I regained my composure. She was gagging for it and her disappointment was obvious on her face. A few months later, I left the job. Thank God. Working with her had become very difficult. @OP, In essence, you can feel "dirty" after sleeping with a girl you should not have slept with. The hate you suddenly feel may be partly due to your own guilt. We all have conscience, no matter how hard we try to suppress it. Work harder at resisting the temptation of random sex. If there's a girl you really liked initially and started disliking her after sex, consider if you now suddenly hate those things you previously liked about her. If not, then it is the sexual act that you really feel bad about. Maybe somewhere within you have a deep religious or moral side. Perhaps subconsciously. You might be hating what you see as the "seductress" in her. But remember it takes two to tango. |
VargasVee:Better say things people without knowledge of classics, philology & anatomy do not know. Those words are Greec-Roman or Germanic and therefore not unknown to many. Out of use like tacenda is not really a biggie is unknown to some. |
Bridget95:Leave them. Their mumu never do. Until Herdsmen overtake all other terrorist groups and wipe out their own family. Then they will know. |
lomprico:Any evidence he wanted to steal a cow? All alone? There are video clips on you-tube about herdsmen atrocities on Ologbo. A diaspora based farmer there has them about killings and destruction of his farm. He has called on the govt to no avail. How feasible is it to kill a cow & sell to the Fulanis who themselves own cows? How many non-Northern Muslims live in Ologbo area? |

So a qualified Nigerian with ambition to be president is automatically on collision cause with Buhari. Wow! Therefore we have no democracy. It seems he"s afraid Bubu would remove all the business privileges govt after govt since the 1980s gave him. |
TonyeBarcanista:So it is not rape of democracy when politicians use every opportunity to cause instability if the lose election? Would you have preferred monkey and baboon soaked in blood in 9ja post election 2017? Jonathan wisely thought no. |
malware:But this has not being made. What are the exact criteria? In other countries, strict rules apply. But here killers are having their sentences reduced & some prisoners are let loose altogether probably with nobody having an idea where they are going to live next, let alone monitor them. Who recommended them for release based on assessment of good behavior? Pardons by politicians follow strict criteria. Even when President Clinton pardoned some prisoners just before leaving office, it was still very controversial. Obama made just over 200 pardons in 8 years. Most others were just commuted. Even in a place records are kept properly and released prisoners can be monitored. Most State governors in America rarely grant pardons. 100 per years is seen as very high. |
HarunaWest:But do not forget many are just very poor. Many just getting by, suffering and still trying to package & smile. Yes those who have are still greedy but only a small proportion really have much. No social safety net from the state. Nothing. In a system that shows no concern for the needy, the masses will take any token they can get. With thanks even. It has become s system designed to make the oppressed worship their oppressors for their occasional benevolence. Which serious country allocates huge monies to parliamentarians for constituency projects? Who (independent body) scrutinizes how they use those allocations? Projects are done by local council/local govt/county, State/regional or national/federal tiers of govt. Parliamentarians make laws & oversee/scrinize various aspects of governance to ensure compliance. |
SmallSimba:Kenya is the economic and political giant of East Africa. Political crisis there is bad for regional stability. With problems in South Sudan and Somalia.' We can now begin to realise the crisis Jonathan saved us by not clinging on to power or even going to court. Raila Odinga who has already been prime minister still does not want to shelve his ambition to be president. Gentlemen are few and far between in African politics. Perhaps that's why when we see one once in a blue moon we find it strange and chose to insult them. Like a prophet in his own land. Because they do not conform to a very warped expectation that persists. |
Gerrard59:Sure. |
quiverfull:Still waiting for the greater good from kids votes in Kano that brought Bubu to power. Oh, yes our president can receive oyinbo medical treatment while pensioners of his age cannot even get regular pension pay in 9ja. That must be the greater good. |
We need better packaging. |
Great innovations. Safety tech save loads of people yearly. ABS great too. Injection engines and turbo very much changed how energy used and fuel economy. |
Very appropriate. A clown foreign minister visiting a clown Kwantree. ![]() Still the clown managed to tell us that the only reason they assist us with security is to allow oil flow (important) to UK via the gulf of Guinea. Beeni. Wehdon sa. |
Franco93:Please see a dermatologist. Your uncle appears to have kerion. If it is kerion, the immune system is just reacting to the fungal infection. Although fungal folliculitis can appear a bit similar too. But please clarify: how old is your uncle? Kerion mostly affects children, teenagers/young adults. But rarely older people. The skin doctor will take a sample of scalp skin/hair for the lab to find out (KOH test/culture) the actual fungus/dermatophyte causing the issue (ringworm). Ringworm is still not treated properly in some places. Scalp ringworm (Tinea capitis) does not respond well to topical antifungal cream only. Oral medication does. Whereas ringworm in other parts of the body (Tinea corporis) usually does. If confirmed your uncle will require around 8 weeks of oral medication. Possibly with an appropriate anti fungal shampoo. Sometimes the culture might also indicate bacterial infection, needing antibiotics treatment too. Your hospital doctors are trying to treat it properly. No short cut. Herbal medicine will not do it. Follow the right medical approach. Can you write the medication & dose prescribed by the hospitals? What was the diagnosis? |
tosyne2much:I wonder. A couple my female friends met their hubbies through me. My buddies that the girls knew through me. These are very fine girls too. But I never for once considered any romance with them. Do not ruin a beautiful innocent friendship with love matter that fundamentally changes the equation & chemistry. If you have a long enduring good friendship with a girl, do not bring romance in ever. Unless you were always "codedly" in love with her and were only bidding your time. Remember that your dear female friend might have one or two aspects that you do not find attractive in a "woman". It can be her attitude towards money, lack of punctuality, etc. But does not diminish your "agape love" for her. Perhaps because she has many other endearing aspects or you just simply like her. Not every "fine" girl is automatically romantically attractive. I found this out as a student when one had female student friends from across the world. Different attitudes, colours, shapes & sizes. You learn to crystallize what really matter to you in a woman. I know many women with mostly male friends. For many reasons. Many claim that male friendship has far less drama, envy, bitching, hypocrisy but more honesty, genuine assistance & support, etc. Growing up, I also had roughly more female friends than male friends. Until most got married. Knowing that most men would consider their their wives being close to a guy as unpalatable, I gradually kept my distance from those married female friends. Which led to some of those female friends questioning whether I was unhappy that they are now married. I just try to explain that I do not want to cause any unnecessary issues in their homes just by being too available. |
muller101:Love does exists. Though to various degrees. But what some people call love sometimes is not it. Infatuation, obsession, etc. But even true love does expire. Change is the only constant. |
vizkiz:I condemn prostitution just like the guy. But he's outrageously absurd. Europe is a big continent. A higher number in Italy, Spain, some in France, some in Holland, some in Russia, very few in Germany, and some other places do it. Yes, even those are too much already. BUT not "most" as he puts it. Begin playing your own positive part by discouraging your sisters, nieces, cousins and friends back in 9ja from falling into the trap. I do that to random social media friends who intend travelling abroad. Help financially if you can too. Just 10 to 20k to enable a young girl sign agreement to learn hairdressing, tailoring, party service and so on can make all the difference. Lamentation is easy. |
doctokwus:You know 99% of things in 9ja is done through "who you know", not on merit. So always square pegs in round holes. Sun Newspaper is no different. |
Poverty is very bad. A lot of female promiscuity is due to economic problems. And to obtain favours. Though some do it to afford to live above their means. Most married women do not cheat just for fun. |
The extortion everywhere and at all levels in 9ja is very bad. But in theory the immigration officer was right about overstaying. Though she had two months visa, upon entering the immigration officer who stamped her visa would have written her latest date of exit in ink on the passport. It would be 30 days. But the officers endorsing the passport on entry NEVER explain what the date (a month away) actually means. So most visitors never know. So it has become a money making thing for them. They then look out for any possibility you have overstayed. Even by just a few hours. |
mansakhalifa:Lol. Yes! Yet it happens everywhere daily. Does it men God does not love those people whose properties born down everytime? ![]() 9ja for you. |
mansakhalifa:Superstition/religion prevent us from planning well. Also need for short cut every time. Tell someone to do life insurance and they will ask if you are planning to kill them. ![]() But I do not know anybody with kids/family walking around in Europe without one. Very shocked to see $35m mentioned. We should be talking of hundreds of millions of dollars. A very untapped market indeed. |
Sorry I have no idea of any NGO that can do it. Did you manage to get any help? Thought about sourcing funds from local councillor, LGA chairman, SHoA member, HoR member or senator of the area? And people from the area but based in the cities? |
