Annie939:My dear, your 15% cheating women figure is highly economical. I would have believed that as a child. As a grown man, I know far better. ![]() I was discussing this matter with a married friend. She admitted that the figure is high now. Guess what? She comes from the MOST conservative part of 9ja. I was shocked. Because I was not expecting such from a highly conservative region. Where I have no real insight into. She admitted that lots of women feel caged. Hence the temptation to quietly rebel when the opportunity comes is great. Despite the very severe consequences. Detection rate is very low because the men are quite naive. Her analysis was quite interesting. |
In most parts of Africa polygamy is legal. Many of the people you are asking for advise, their dads have kids with various women all over the place. Myself whose granddad and dad was & is monogamous, I will still not sit on a high horse to pontificate here. Except you do not live in Africa. What you are saying is what many ladies want to hear. But let us do DNA tests on all kids under 21 years old in 9ja, a very large number will fail it. My late relative's 3 kids were not his. They were fathered by other men. If not for the child he had much earlier with another woman, he'd have died childless. Two friends wanted to do family re-union and bring kids they had in their youth to diaspora. Their kids failed DNA test. There's always enough blame & hypocrisy to go round. If he did not take good care of your ailing mum, that is another matter. Maybe the relationship/marriage had technically died long ago. Even though kids may not want to see it. Your mum is gone. Just move on. I know how painful it is to lose one's dearest mum. Keep the fond memories of her. |
RIP dear. |

naijamakossa:Have money, women and tribe come between them? Only then you can say. |
naijamakossa:Has money, women and tribe come between them? Only then you can say. |
Tolexander:Sadly when the mother of the family dies, it happens frequently. And their father died too. The main uniting forces are gone. Add money, women & tribe to it, it's an explosive mixture. Nobody ends up smelling of roses. I hope lawsuit, career nosediving, divorce & depression do not follow. Only the wives of these guys can save the day. If they all value extended family o. Since the men have obviously failed. But most women nowadays do not. It's "just me, my hubby & my kids". Mazi Onyegbulam & Mazi Okeke from the village cannot solve this. Boys with money these days hardly care about tradition aside wearing native dress. ![]() |
brunofarad:This Mr Drumpf (original German name of Trump family) is a clown for real. ![]() |
Kbokad:The way Sagay has been lambasting the previous govt, I knew he will soon realise how foolish it is to keep blaming Jonathan. After over 2 years of APC in govt. Maybe he just arrived #hismumudondo bus stop @commonsense. ![]() |
Lol. Funny. If not that it is super stupid. No doubt most of his social media followers will be young women. And impressionable young men. All worshipping wealth up and down. At 23, if he has half a brain, why would he flaunt wealth that he clearly hasn't? |
NubiLove:I think Nigeria has been intellectually set back by decades. People now believe in miracles than what careful observation/study, innovation & dedication can give us. It's a pity really. The Chinese are clamping down on religion seriously to keep people rational. Excessive in my view. But something needs to be done in Nigeria. Things are going down badly. |
One man used gun and blood to secure future of abundance forever for his descendants. How can this inspire politicians to have mercy on national wealth? |
AnonyNymous:Money, fame and environment change people greatly. The initial zeal to succeed together and beat adversity eventual fizzles out. Each starts to feel big & egotistical. If you feel you now have the name/status to make it on your own, why tolerate the idiosyncrasies of others? Familiarity also breeds contempt. Just human nature. |
OjukwuWarBird:Looking at it first yes. But with missing fridges, TV sets etc, then the priest is right. To deter others. I think invasion of privacy & possible burglary (if kitchen entered forcefully) are more serious than the value of stolen items. He could have been surprised by a young girl/vulnerable person & he could have seriously harmed her just to avoid exposure. If by chance the reverend gentleman had left wads of money in the kitchen he'd have stolen it too. |
Good for her. Good fortune fall on her. |
onuwaje:State creation is just mere duplication & waste of scarce resources. We need a regional system. Local councils should have more power. No need for many state executives and the horde of commissioners, tens/hundreds of SSAs & SAs. bureaucracies, etc. In countries where things work, you can apply for your international passport, id cards and most documents at your local council office. They forward to central system & you collect it locally. Some federal documents are even issued locally. Governance should come to grassroots. All the tribal big men want to be governors or their kids to get plum state govt jobs. Many states are unsustainable right now and on FG life support machine. We need fewer, not more states. Whether we like it or not, people in current Edo & Delta have a lot in common culturally, historically & linguistically. Even Anioma are not that far culturally. It is only since Biafra war that Anioma has been increasingly pushed into Igbo. Yes they are Igbo, Western Igbo but their ethnicity was never an issue to Benin, Urhobo, Esan, Itsekiri, Isoko, Afemai or other people. In fact Anioma in Bendel ensured strong affinity between Bendel & Igbo generally. I still remember in Diaspora a few short decades back when a core Igbo person would send an Anioma person to me with a phrase like " your Bendel brother down the road can help you, ask for XYZ when you get there". Urhobo people should know better. They are the largest tribe in Delta and have dominated Delta politics since 1991. Yet it has not made every Urhibo person rich, only a new elite has emerged. Another State be it New Delta or even Urhobo Sate cannot change much. If New Delta is created, then the very communities hosting the most oil wells within the new state will demand for more share of oil money. And the cycle will continue. We just need a better & sustainable political structure. When things begin to work for ordinary citizens, these incessant agitations will be minimal. But that won't favour the current political elite of Nigeria. So we are stuck. |
folakemigeh:True. But she nor go fine pass you at same age. But good to see a lady finding another lady beautiful and saying so. Make the money she has made & you'll not look less pretty at her age now. |
kirchofff:I tire o. It might even be a gaboon viper. Though the head would have made it more obvious if seen before roasting. Eating any viper, be it puff adder or gaboon is just weird. |
Very poor journalism. No ages mentioned. Because of early marriage in the North, the age difference might not be over 15 years. If the lady is 45 and the guy is 30, I see no issues. President Macron married his former teacher. Around twice his age. With 11 kids already, the young man deserves a national honour of bravery just for wanting to marry her. ![]() If the woman should commit fornication now they will be calling for her head or uncountable lashes. Why the hypocrisy? Because 79 years old men are marrying 15 years old kids up North. |
And that fan may not have a happy marriage herself. Soon the fan will want to dictate the only acceptable sex position. |
Meanwhile Singapore, Malaysia, South Korea and China that did not receive religious stuff in 1981 but got decent leaders have now surged far ahead of us. We now rely on their Samsung, Tecno, Injoo, Daewoo, machines, electronics. Etc. Meanwhile we wallow in corruption, boko, poverty, etc. ![]() |

OK Florida is not too far from Northern most part Caribbean. But not sure if they are found within Florida inland waters as they are in Rivers Niger, Gambia, Cassamance. Etc |
Many people now go to churches where they are told what they want to hear. Many prefer to hear that you can just get a breakthrough without lifting a finger. In search of miracle basically. The old fashioned austere churches are also not interesting anymore. Many young people want to dance azonto, dance shakitibobo , shake bum bum in church too. Yours truly has never been fussy about denominations. As long as it an old school church. |
GogobiriLalas:Oh really @Florida manatee? I know of extinct ones in Europe and elsewhere. When were the Florida one last sighted.? |
Nice. |
Hunger & ignorance are very bad. A sea cow/manatee like this is not a prolific breeder as such. Killing just one is a tragedy. Apart from us in West Africa, only Amazon & Caribbean have the blessing of nature to have manatees. Europeans, North Americans, Arabia, Oceania & Asia do not have. Even East Africa/Safari & South Africa have none. |
FLYFIRE:. |
Maybe Kenya just use style dodge the thing sef. That Uhuru looks like a wily fox to me. All this kain jamboree wey no make sense. Money scarce these days. |
FortifiedCity:OP, Be careful. Check her background carefully. Is there any history of abandonment in her life? Any history of self-harm? And history of suicide/attempted suicide in her family? The history & background of most people are not known. Especially meeting people in big cities. It's a veritable jungle out there. There are also several mental health conditions in 9ja that never come into medical care system. Conditions that are treated in the West but not picked up at all in 9ja & much of Africa. So do not dismiss her threat casually. It might be too late to know she meant it. BUT one thing is sure: threatening to kill over potential heartbreak is not healthy. |
Yawn. Lots of men are raising kids that are not theirs anyway, products of their wives sleeping around. Of course the man is to blame because he's not good in bed. Feminists wannabe will not admit that a woman should better quit the marriage if not happy than sleep around. To begin with, what kind of hubby desires his wife's friends and what type of friends sleep with their friend's hubby? Are they married or single friends? |
agbonkamen:My dear, God made all things beautiful in his infinite wisdom. He even made us in his own image. That said, you are very beautiful. You do not really need random faceless Nairaland strangers to tell you that you are. Surely you must have friends and people around you on ground that tell you that you are pretty. Trust me, the opinions of those real people are far more important. You may be posting these things just to have a laugh but trust some Nairalanders to make a meal of it. Many women half as beautiful as you live very happily. With kids and a hubby. If your character is even only half as beautiful as your face, you have no problem. |
