OrestesDante:If other United fans anywhere wanted to attend the funeral, express their sympathy or contribute towards the funeral, it wouldn't be a bad idea to have people's number for contact. It appears that poster was done by United fans in that State/Cross River. To be honest I wonder why we leave our local clubs & support foreign ones so passionately. I am yet to see a die-hard oyinbo fan of Eyimba, Insurance, Rangers, Shooting, Rovers, Pillars, Sharks, Warriors, Mighty Jets or other local 9ja clubs. Not even in those days as kids when we still had many oyinbo teachers, medics, engineers, and so on working in 9ja. The stadiums were only full of black people, kids/families, friends etc. RIP. |

chibboy:No wonder those American pastors play with rattle snake and get bitten, most dying of it. |
"For God so loved the World that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believeth in him shall not perish but have everlasting life". John 3:16. |
hezy4real01:Well, people who created all we have today: philosophy that gave birth to Arts & Science and the resulting tech advancement were people who sat down and thought about everything. Without narrowing their minds. Since thousands of years. If God in heaven was their single focus, they would have waited for miracles. Like some Nigerians go to MFM, Synagogue church, Christ Embassy for all their solutions now. And end up creating or contributing nothing much to humanity. I know that when you challenge Nigerians to think wide, they shout "atheist". |
RIP |
sarrki:Which shows that the older generations including Buhari failed woefully to raise patriotic children. Reasons include failing to build a united and prosperous nation that the younger ones can be proud of. Instead poor education system, poor healthcare. unemployment, poverty, divisive & tribal politics is what they bequeathed. And they have refused to heed calls to restructure Nigeria and let tribal blocks have more autonomy. So what do you expect? |
Hmmmm Na wa o. |

Much better if true. |
We have problem of management and strategy in 9ja. That place should have national railway going near it. That way you can take a train direct from Lagos, Lokoja, Abuja, Kaduna, Ibadan, etc. |

eee777:Very correct. Sadly many already have various stages of kidney & liver disease. Even if not yet diagnosed. While we keep preaching healthier living, avoiding self-medication and so on, those already having the disease will need good care. Often organ transplant. The generation of people mostly affected now, the over 40s typically have many siblings, from three siblings to over 20 in some cases. Finding a matching live donor especially among full siblings should be slightly easier than where siblings are fewer or non-existent. But our cultural & religious beliefs are still an impediment to donating organs, whether live donor or cadaver/corpse donor. Even in the West, I know an African person with kidney failure and he spent about 10 years on dialysis before an anonymous cadaver donor was found. The 4 siblings here in the west did not volunteer to be tested if they match, let alone donate one kidney. Cornea & bone marrow are also needed. |
Goroz:Hypnotism will kind of support cultism use of juju better than saying threatened. Threat is not sensational enough. Lazy journalism & exaggeration are 5 & 6. ![]() |
legaltender:You need to look at various things. In ancient times, farmland & plantations/fruit trees were valuable assets. Because most people were farmers. Inherited farmlands are still there in many families, unless already sold off. But how many youths want to farm now? There is just a shift in what we now term "valuable inheritance". It has to be liquid cash or nice houses in the cities/big towns now. There was also no "Land Use Act" back then. The King/community could easily divide up free lands among themselves. On the average, fertility has reduced too. Not biological proficiency here but simply a term used for number of kids/woman/family. Due to better enlightenment, reduced lottery of child survival and reduced need for many kids to work the land. Far less fertility in the past 25 years compared to 50 or 100 years ago. Those parents who depend on their kids is as a result of poverty. Rich parents do not. If we had developed at the same rate as Malaysia or Singapore, they'd be richer in old age now too. Or have a govt funded better life. A retired teacher who happens to be ill now in his 70s might have to rely on his kids to augment his meagre & irregular pension. He never earned big and raising 3 or 4 kids was expensive. Due to poor state schools, many have spent more money on private schools over same 25 years. Again due to failure of govt. We're now at crossroads between family responsibility/loyalty and desire to live one's own life peacefully, Western lifestyle. If high unemployment continues or gets worse and young people can barely look after their own nuclear family, elderly dependent relatives will suffer greatly. |
If they say 6 soldiers died, it might well be 16 or more. |
realestniggah:We need to quickly address the scourge of organ failure now very common. We need a comprehensive organ donation guideline. But a deeply religious nation like ours will find it hard to do nationally. States should be given the freedom to formulate own policies. Kidney & liver need urgent attention. NAFDAC needs to step up. Fake/adulterated/expired drugs/food/drink are major culprits here. |
nkwuocha1:Not necessarily true. There are customs officials in every state. Some inland roads are used to convey goods already smuggled in. Especially highways leading to major cities where demand for goods is high. Of course almost everyone abuses his position of power in Nigeria. Customs, like other govt employees may be milking the public for own pockets. |
You cannot even trust the church you go to these days. Each time you enter a church, you might be walking over charms containing human parts buried below the "door mouth". To keep you hooked and obedient to the Pastor. Lawd have mercy. |
Litmus:Sadly the system long term will not work. Individualism in increasing fast. Tolerance is dwindling. People used to take elderly relatives in, especially if widowed. How many modern women are ready to take in their old mother-in-laws now? When more women also now work. Japan used to have a system like ours, but that has changed/is changing. People now have few kids, meaning most kids are going to be better educated & perhaps will be fully employed in the future, unlike previous generations with many stay-at-home wives. We cannot stand akimbo in the hope the old system will continue. It won't. A midway between family system & state funded elderly care will have to be found. |
Truth be told, many cultures used to be like ours: children as pension scheme. But our system has refused to move on or develop. The state ought to work out a welfare system for "poorer" women over 60 and "poorer" men over 62/65. But our politicians have no appetite for it. If done, their children will have more disposable income to invest in their own nuclear family & and business/shares, bills, etc. But right now, aside parents, lots of aspiring/middle class Nigerians have to support uncles, aunties, grandparents, stepparents, cousins, nephews/nieces, younger or even older siblings. Medical bills, school fees & even "chop money". It prevents wealth accumulation & investment. Individuals are shouldering the burden of the state/govt. It promotes dependency on the few well off people & perpetuates overall poverty. Giving to relatives should be done willingly, not because economic circumstances dictate. On the other hand, in Nigerian climes, people raise their kids without any welfare assistance from the state, aside maybe giving babies some free vaccines. ![]() |
MetaPhysical:You mean Ibadan press global position. Only global, Why not planetary position? You set up a propanganda thread and want to also dictate who can say what on it. Your wet dream here is to have various Yoruba people here telling you "beeni", completely unopposed. Far and wide nobody to to consign your story to the dustbin where it belongs. And massage your gargantuan ego. No wonder Nigeria never runs out of tin pot dictators be they in military or civilian gab. There are always budding ones like you. Your dubious intellectualism is complete hogwash. If you think I still have any interest in your pretend academic nonsense, you must be much slower than I thought. ![]() Well agbero tactics is known to be normal to you lot. Because I have been too nice and patient here over the years, you guys began messing up. You all lost any right to nicety from me due to your underhand tactics. To compare clarity of thought or not, you have to first match the calibre of people I was educated alongside. Not the failed education system I have not doubt churned you out. ![]() To defend Benin? Who told you Benin need defending? Please mind your tongue. You are now also Pontius Pilate? I am only here to amuse myself now. |
We knew all along that APC will cover up for their members. So much about noise of fighting corruption. So foreign intelligence officers now control millions of dollars or how should we understand this? Wonderful. |
I do not know how I got here but anyway. @OP, only about 30% of women get orgasm during penetrative intercourse intercourse. Around another 30% get it with other kind of pre-intimacy, like you. Another 30% will never get any orgasm no matter what. It does not mean they do not enjoy sex. This category may have to feign orgasm to make their man feel good about himself. This can be where the woman appears to orgasm just when the man does too. ![]() So you're pretty normal |
Nina4u:The highlighted above is not true. We cannot generalise. Some do, some don't. There are many scientific opinions on masturbation. Despite all they health myths about causing stroke, insanity, low sperm count, blindness, acne and so on, the consensus is that there is nothing wrong with medically. Except it becomes an addiction, obsession, interferes with the subject's functioning, feels dirty or ashamed of doing it, etc. This is not unique to masturbation. If you eat pizza obsessively, think of pizza every time, know it's ruining your health, feel helpless/powerless to stop, affects your life & mood negatively, then it is as bad. It can be same for doughnut, burger, alcohol, etc. See an official link below: http://www.nhs.uk/Livewell/Goodsex/Pages/masturbation.aspx Now, while scientifically nothing might be wrong with masturbation, a human being is not just a scientific entity/apparatus. We are all shaped my various influences: religion, education, societal opinion on morality, parents, etc. Even many who know about the scientific facts still cannot shake off the feeling of guilt or being dirty. Also if doing it makes it impossible for him to enter into a relationship or find the opposite sex (gay is illegal in Nigeria, and this is a Nigerian registered forum) totally unnecessary, then there is a problem. |
MetaPhysical:Kikikikikiki! Defend? So you guys consider yourselves some kind of "spanish inquisitors". Hahahaha. You guys have no story and you are not in a million years in a position to ask me to defend anything. I have been too nice here. Taking time to educate you ignorant lot. Since the gang up and silencing, that has stopped. Go and keep reading those your "Dr. Who" Oduduwa papers. And whatever papers you think you have on Edo. I have no business with your oriki. If you like preach from here to Jericho. You cannot know the history of Lagos monarchy more than a prince of that house. I know the plan already. To try & deny Benin history. Like a jealous neighbor who instead of acknowledging other's achievement & working hard to achieve same, goes round denigrating & backbiting others. All the so called evidence you pull out from your an*s are meant to achieve that purpose. Even if you teleport Oduduwa to come and explain it by himself, It won't impress me. Let's get this cleared up: I do not consider you lot credible in any way. So reading your papers or answering anything will not happen. Not anymore. I will only now come to amuse myself at your expense. ![]() |
Olanrefront3355:You nor sabi darkie person? Na copy cat we sabi na. I dey wait for the day an oyinbo man will carry kola nut & palm wine to go see his oyinbo in-laws in America or Europe. Our ancestors that did not kneel down to propose, their marriages lasted life long. These days nko? Na story story. ![]() |
RIP What a waste. Many kids are coming into tertiary institutions at 16 or 17 years old, virtually cocooned until leaving home. They passed their entry exams alright, are bright, social media savvy, know many things, etc. But many are not ready for the harsh realities of life out there: disappointment, heartbreak, betrayal, difficulties, temptations and so on. |
Olu37 or whatever you call yourself, no amount of copy & paste will stir me to take you seriously. It appears Benin History Denial is your full-time job. Keep posting lies, at least you have to earn your keep. My respect for all of you including Seun Osewa is gone. Totally gone. I can now imagine how Benin/Delta people who had enough of Western Nigerian shenanigans and left to form Midwest Region felt. If you people have any dream of writing Edo people's history, wake up from it. We are not you people that let Arabs, Malians & Hausa-Fulani write your history. |
