This is what happens when you live in a country that share a similar culture and language. A young man like this can never rule a country like Nigeria because everybody is fighting for ethnic superiority. In Nigeria, we all fight for what will benefit our tribesmen not really about what will benefit the country. Until we speak the truth that Nigeria will never be a united country, the better for us and the generation to come.The Yoruba ethnic group are larger than European ethnic groups like Norwegians, swedes, fins, Greeks, welsh, and so on. There is no benefit in living in a large country with many differences. I will rather live in a country with a small population that share a common language, culture that is peaceful and with a prosperous system than a country like Nigeria with large population with many differences whose system has failed overall.

Sadly, in terms of wanton greed and desire to amass wealth, the average citizens are not different from those people. It is now a part of who we are. The looters/elite are mostly normal people who had opportunity to siphon. It will take an earth-shattering even or a series of events to change things. Such events will most likely create a bigger Somalia/Iraq/Afghanistan/Syria situation, considering our size. Nigeria will not emerge from the mess in 25 years.

People are struggling with simple maths and you are asking of statistics that needs to be interpreted properly to be understood. Does that guy sound to you as someone who would understand statistics?

People easily forget the location of Benin, between SW, SE & Delta, that attracts all sorts of people, good and not so good. With a population surpassed only by Lagos, Kano, Ibadan and maybe by PH, Abuja & perhaps Kaduna only in recent years. With several tertiary institutions and mostly a civil servant and bank city. Few jobs otherwise. How can you have a city of around 1.2 million people with little opportunities and expect El Dorado?

These are no excuses but facts we know from many places to cause huge social problems.

We hear of similar criminal activities in other places like PH and Calabar (mostly kidnapping of lecturers and students) of late.
