tydi:That is generalizing a bit too much. Is it not authorities in same North taking him to court? I have no doubt 99.9% of people up North are just as horrified as you. There is bad everywhere. There are many rich but mentally unstable/sick people out there too. |
Zane2point4:Thing is we're not ready yet and even the Western/Russian sellers know it. We would rather siphon the money than buy modern equipment. Even if we bought new ones, we will not maintain them. So they keep selling us obsolete ones that would cost them money to recycle or not needed for their war museums. I only pity the young pilots whose lives those equipment put at risk. |
He can win. Do not expect APC/Buhari to even think about fair play like GEJ did. |
RIP. |
Hardeysolution:I bow for am o. Kamasutra is thousands of years old in India. They think those ancient people were just doing suwegbe in bed. Even gay sex was very common in ancient Greece & Rome. Julius Caesar, Alexandra the Great all had gay lovers. Who is to say they didn't practice ogbonge sex styles with their wives too? And who's to say the Christians that came after them didn't do Snake in the Mongoose shadow? ![]() Be doing suwegbe with missionary style only. If you nor knack am hard, another hungry lion outside will help you out. |
fratermathy:Sadly all Edoid languages are in danger, including Urhobo/Isoko. I'm beginning to doubt if any of the dialects can survive it alone long term, without a major collective effort. Instead of standalone BA Edo or Urhobo degrees, it should be joint degrees like BA Edoid Languages (Urhobo/Esan/Benin) or BA Edoid Languages & Linguistics (Isoko/Afemai/Degema). These joint degrees will not only promote the philological understanding of the individual languages but also the grammatical similarities and variations. The same way Germanic languages like German, English, Swedish, Dutch, Danish, etc re-enforce the understanding of each. Same applies to the romance languages of French, Italian, Romanian, Portuguese, Spanish, etc. |
FunkyMetahuman:They all know people work in mortuaries and they do not go about calling all of them freaks. Working hard & diligently includes obeying the rules and code of conduct of the the job. Not mutually exclusive. I'm sure there are other equally industrious people doing that job while respecting the rules. His attitude should rightly irk people. |
FunkyMetahuman:Dude, there is something called ethics, respecting dignity/privacy of others and code of conduct. Would you like pics of your loved ones plastered all over the internet? It's a pity how poor the standard of everything is in Nigeria. Very disappointing. Corpses should be kept in refrigerated drawers long term. And a separate section for infected (HIV, MRSA, etc) bodies. |

Ok. Consenting adults all round. Next please! |
Ralphlauren:My brother, even the 15 years illegal stay route has long shifted to 20 years. Mrs May did that as Home Office boss. A lady with 4 kids (2 born here, who would bare remember their dad if not for pictures) fought for years for papers. Her late hubby had an accident at work & died. It appears he was illegal too. That lady suffered. Renting one room from place to place. Only to be asked to go by those elderly 9ja landlords (more by their wives). We tried supporting however little we could. They finally got their stay around a year ago. It appears to coincide with the senior child born here clocking 10 years old. You know we 9ja are not very open sometimes. We're very suspicious & secretive & I never probed unnecessarily deep. Maybe they had a bad lawyer to begin. They fleeced her anyhow. One thought the man's death would have made things easier. I suggested a free charity lawyer pathway but she stylishly avoided it. A system I know works very fine. Some think an expensive lawyer equals success. |
odimbannamdi:Elephant years even. Education alone took donkey years. ![]() |
sureteeboy:NatGeo man spotted. ![]() That here is cobra. Black mamba has only a black mouth. Inland Taipan is the champion, an Australian native. |
Greene66:A guy died on top a lady married to a white man, real life case here, did the oyinbo hubby do magun too? ![]() Sex, especially & exciting illicit one can really overwork the heart. Like exercise. People quite normally have a heart attack during sport activities. And the reported locking of 1929 in BMJ of London, was it a voodooo one too? ![]() |
Nigeria as it is now will never change. Corruption is part of the fabric now. Even EFCC admit they are corrupt. Virtually everyone is corrupt: most people do illegal deals, siphon money, inflate bills and more at work. Just not as much as the politicians have access to. Nigeria is too divided & dysfunctional to successfully fight corruption. It needs to disintegrate and be rebuilt in smaller pieces gradually. But we are scared of this turbulence & the unknown so we keep postponing the evil day. |
When will they let this matter rest? |
Lots of women do not believe in emotional love anymore. They believe in love shown through money. For those who believe in true love irrespective of money, some will eventually get that true love, respect and money on top. It is like seeking the kingdom of God first and others will be added. But some still will not get that genuine love, respect or money. Life is not always fair. Sadly the impression a large number of guys have out there now is that women care only about money. And some ladies here on this thread appear to be confirming it, wrongly in my view. Allowing such an impression to continue does a lot of damage to women generally. |
Omotayor123:it might sound funny to you but not to their families. In a typical black person's way, death is always something we find difficult to accept that it happens daily. That it has not happened near you lately does not change it. A fit, slim and healthy former footballer called Ugo Ehiogu died suddenly just two weeks ago in London. I guess you would doubt me if not for the media. For many us, death is something we see virtually daily in line of work or training. Yes, I thank God for my life for very specific reasons that you will never know. You will never never know my dear. |
RIP |
cosade:My brother stop wasting your time. I was visiting 9ja to enter the new millenium. People came and began talking of their relatives there purported to be known by everyone in various countries. With nicknames like Mr Frankfurt, Paris 1, Mr Belgium, Mr Munich, etc. I was just laughing. Having visited virtually all countries in Western Europe by that time, I never heard such names as celebrities there. I spent much of 1998 summer watching FIFA World Cup in France, never heard such name as Paris one. All the areas like Chateau d'eau, Chateau Rouge and places you will meet many Africans, no such popular names. I have lots of relatives/contacts there too. People just like bobos in 9ja. That is what they are programmed to believe. |

odimbannamdi:Most will end up being deported. But the reason some remain there is refusing to go back to 9ja. They just cannot imagine where to start in 9ja after maybe 5 to 20 years plus in UK. There is a tiny minority willing to return but certain legal stuff/documents makes it impossible to deport them. Some will eventually be set free, especially on humanitarian/right to family life grounds. Years ago, living illegally in UK was made a criminal activity by law. Illegal stay is now a crime. Someone who employs an illegal immigrant can be fined up to £10K. If you employ 10 illegal immigrants, that could mean a £100k fine, enough to send small businesses into bankruptcy. So that fear has further reduced job opportunities for illegal immigrants. Add that many Eastern Europeans with shiny new EU passports ready to do the same jobs. But most Nigerians in 9ja do not want us to mention these facts. They prefer us to lie to them. |
SnowJay92:One diaspora guy explained it all in one post. He said those who have nothing to lose in 9ja, they can travel. Not those already settled into good jobs. I certainly was not in the poorer category in 9ja. I could have done all my degrees in 9ja paid for by family. Like my friends did. Or come for only post grad abroad if I knew better. It took much hardship to do it all. But we are not arresting those who want to travel anyhow. They are free to. |
Basalt:Read my other posts and see how to better migrate. In any case I do not run the embassies. I also do not control Sahara desert or Atlantic ocean. You are always free to chose any of your choice to travel abroad. |
Women are very funny people. Some of them like Ogbekpa luma luma. ![]() Some sabi like Mike Tyson types as hubby. A pretty curvy 9ja girl once told me a guy who doesn't beat her is a mug. That she'd misbehave to no end. I only just asked her to seek "psychological medical" help. Since the other psych word is not trendy anymore. |
When you wake up to see chain and shackles instead of "chanji", why will you not go irate? ![]() |
1k001:Not just anyhow books are really our problem. Nigerian elite are well read. What you read matters, not just anything. If for entertainment/pastime, ok. Countries that succeed plan ahead. Education, economy, science & tech, infrastructure, healthcare, etc. Not because of political books to massage one's ego. As an accountant he can write a book on economy and prudent financial/fiscal management in the public sector. From the perspective of a former executive governor. I'd buy such a book quickly. |
When will they write "How we turned Nigeria into another Singapore"? Or "How we intend to turn Nigeria into a developed country within 20 years"? People voted, election ringing and all. And a man who openly said his ambition is not worth the blood of any Nigerian, handed over peacefully, without even going to court. And all that is still worth much noise two years on. Kai! 9ja. |
salford:Usually 6 attempts maximum per each stage. Even registration without actually taking the exam can even sometimes count towards the 6 attempts. I do not know if there are very recent changes. |

You can only file for a child under 18 years if at least one parent holds ILR and the child is UK born. If the child is overseas born and under 18, one parent must be a UK citizen.
