The truth be told, Things were much better under the parliamentary system the British gave us which is exactly their own form of government but everything started to go wrong when our inept leaders decided to adopt a government style that does not fit us. Westminster system promotes more executive accountability. Our lazy & capricious elite don't like that. The presidential (king-like) system suits their ego better. Especially the North like centralised power. Though Ironsi brought the centralised unitary system to appease the North after January 1966 coup.
