pressplay411:The judiciary is still far better than FG, NASS, SGs and SHAs. You can appeal court judgement in most cases. And judges are aware they'd be lambasted the higher court. It is politicians that corrupt the judiciary. They appoint the judges at all levels. The most corrupt part of the judiciary is the election tribunal & other election court cases. That is where politicians have the money to buy judges. How many car snatchers or petty criminals can bribe judges? |
Interesting that he reached his peak during Jonathan's time of economic boom. Just like many people witnessed in improvement in own economic fortune then. HBD. |
baby124:That is very subjective. There are also nuclear monogamous families with three or four kids. They still fight dirty when their rich patriarch kicks the bucket. Most 9ja families are basically dysfunctional. Monogamous or polygamous. Looking back at what I saw around me growing up. Including homes of profs with foreign wives then. Although most people got used to it that way and never consider own family as dysfunctional. Only that OBJ is a public figure and we got to know. Cheaper yes, easier it depends, enjoyable not so straightforward. I see a lot of hypocrisy in our system. The vast majority of men: civil servants, pastors, Imams, soldiers, bankers, doctors, lawyers, mechanics, bus drivers and all have one or several girlfriends/concubines outside. Were our ancestors who did the honourable thing by marrying the women not far more honest? Who will marry the excess women in the system if all men just marry one? The multiple gfs/concubines system is masking or at least temporarily solving potential social problems. Because if not, many women would be economically & amorously far worse off. For the record, my granddad was monogamous, my dad too. So I'm not here defending family tradition or my own lifestyle. Just because we might prefer one lifestyle doesn't mean we should prescribe that as the absolute best. How would you address the matter of millions of women that would have no man if all men stuck to one woman only? Go to sperm bank for a baby? Buy a robot lover? Turn lesbian? It is like telling female students to stop multiple dating/aristos, without govt bursary or adequate student package provided by state or FG. Desirable as might be, it just won't work because there are too many poor people and a few greedy ones. Many will simply not complete their studies. Period. We must consider these things first. |
I fell asleep often in class. A brief snooze and it was always very sweet and refreshing. ![]() We worked hard to earn a living while schooling. Especially those 5pm lectures. Sometimes after a busy clinic too. Well, many non-professors have considerable teaching duties. Common in healthcare. When I have had to teach, never seen any fall asleep. They are largely a very motivated middle class and privileged lot. Without the worries we had as foreign students. |
Good question. OBJ said men should marry more wives since there is oversupply of ladies. Westernisation: we now copy Western ways. Cost of living: Most cannot afford it. |
Cute couple. HML. |
GloriaNinja:But nothing bad rejoicing with those who rejoice or mourning with those who mourn. On Natgeo, you will see even animals do same. |
TrumporIdie:Sir, this is not personal o. We are just trying to understand various viewpoints. Please better not to speculate about our own private lives. For some reason, ladies tend to side more with Pastor Sule. I suspect that pastors are basically the last remaining group of men women like to trust. They seem reluctant to see that they are not different any other guy out there. In fact the way women flock around them seeking for solutions, and the way women are ready to obey them bring a lot of temptation. Which ONLy VERY FEW can resist. Imagine even some married women going to have a midnight church bath alone with a male pastor when her hubby is away? |
Ishilove:So you mean this lady would stage a chat knowing fully well that the time and place of the chat can be found out? It is a matter of integrity. Knowing how powerful and connected he is, will she risk it if not confident about her stuff? How did it all even come into the public arena? Is this not a case of a woman scorned? "Shameless" seems to be a recurring theme, but don't you think morality is a very individual thing these days? Especially when most in all aspects of society, religious and secular, have failed woefully in moral stakes? |
Ishilove:So you think when a poor person is accused of stealing and lynched/burnt alive without any court hearing, he's defended by people? ![]() If anything, pastors have a multitude of "touch not my anointed" defense brigade that most wrongly accused will never have. My question is just how many details of their liaison do people want to see before demanding a forensic investigation? You cannot claim to be a spiritual leader with so much lurid details that he keeps denying. He should once and for all put an end to it. Either by categorically proving the lady wrong or admitting it. Even blessed King David admitted his sin (konji wahala also) and repented. Succumbing to temptation, failing and weakness are part of human nature. It appears people are just so embarrassed that they want the matter to go away. The truth seems irrelevant. As usual in Nigeria. Oh..one more revelation below: https://www.nairaland.com/3731030/stephanie-otobos-bbm-sex-chats |
Raypawer:Nope. Some countries like Germany do not allow dual nationality in most cases. You have to renounce your current one to gain theirs. But certain countries including Iran practically do not allow renunciation (despite claiming to allow in theory) of their citizenship. Therefore Germany allows Iranians dual nationality. I think Venezuelans too, not sure. Citizens of EU countries are also allowed dual nationality in Germany. Nigerians and most other people are not allowed. Nigerians renounce citizenship everyday. I wonder why the embassy referred him to Buhari. Do they apply for it at Aso Rock Villa? ![]() Citizenship of Nigeria is granted by Council of State. Does it mean you must apply to individual Council members like all former heads of state : IBB, OBJ, GEJ, Shagari, etc? ![]() |
So this makes FP? So what do you think your gf schooling another city most likely does when you're not there? She'd probably seek fun. And that includes clubbing, aristo runs, etc. Life is hard enough. Most of these girls are far away from home. Not living with parents. This is pretty normal across most cities worldwide. We are never going to see girls behaving like our mothers did. That is gone forever. |
OBJ is a real comedian. True what he said but funny coming from him. It is like Anini or Oyenusi saying armed robbers are bad people. ![]() |
Ishilove:Ma, do you mean the lady forged the document shown? Is a mere denial more credible than showing actual evidence? If the man did or not, I cannot say. But the lady keeps insisting something went down. Objectively and dispassionately looking at it, is it wrong to seek the truth, pastor or not? Is it wrong to admit and apologise? I think a real MOG ought to be humble enough to admit and show remorse. But it appears most people want to protect/believe the elite and crucify an ordinary person. Until we stand with the truth irrespective of class, we cannot go forward as a nation. |
Young03:I guess from several "ex-directors". But is there no formal procedure to handover govt property in possession of former civil servants on retirement/leaving post? The level of corruption at all levels is sickening. Why is there no death penalty punishment for blatant corruption to scare people? This is now too much abeg. |
Like play like play, kidnapping is now like sachet water in 9ja. We only used to read about kidnapping in crime novels and watch it in espionage films. |
Nice |
RIP. |
neocortex:Kwarrect. No relationship is purely without reason. The lady you quoted would likely not marry a handsome but poor Lawma cleaner. A rich guy would also unlikely marry a guguru hawker. That only happens to Ebube Nwangbo and others in Nollywood films. |
bigtt76:At 63, not unusual really. There might also be diabetes and or hypertension at play here, we do not know. Also a cheating and hubby-beating wife is not the mostly sexually arousing prospect in bed. |
It shows how everything in Nigerian marriages mostly revolves around money. If the man was able to drop around 75k monthly for family upkeep, even if this lady was cheating with Okadigbo, she'd do it very discreetly. She's getting more money from Okadigbo these days. I suspect that the elderly hubby has fallen on hard times. The marriage was probably more economically prosperous and happier earlier on. |
Yep. Ignorance is a massive problem among our youths. Once they can wear nice clothes, buy a good smartphone, that's it. Disheartening considering how much information one can access easily online these days. |
So people who lied endlessly against GEJ are sensitive to lies like this? ![]() How funny life is. |
igwebuike01:What? Do you know of Princeton, Harvard, Cornell? Other Ivy league you may not know are Brown, Dartmouth, Columbia, Wharton. They may not be popular but highly rated as Ivy league. The only major ones missing there are Yale and the above. I would rate John Hopkins even above some Ivy league especially in Medicine. Her biology degree is just a pre-med degree. Most Ivy league will know that such a brilliant student will be wanted by others too. |
jerry0123:But it is good salary in 9ja especially for a career beginner without kids yet. Very good indeed if outside Lagos. She managed with 30k. Much less with 5 times more. A cadet police inspector gets less than that. Cost of living is much higher in USA too. Do not be surprised if after just a few years she builds a bungalow at Ikorodu or Agbara. While the one doing "hey yo!" in Yankee though earning more might not manage to do same. |
Congratulations. Continue with humility. |
See a thread that did not make FB. If it was python now or some religious man miliki one lady, FP straight. Our problems are numerous: Disunity: we have no unity in our diversity as we pretend. Being divided, we cannot put heads together with common purpose and chart a path of progress. Corrupt elite: Here disunity plays a big part. We cannot fight corruption because the elite hide under ethnicity & religion to divide public opinion when caught. This state of affairs has gradually trickled down into all facets of life now, Corruption is deep-rooted like an iroko tree now. No patriotism: Because people do not believe in Nigeria, they feel no obligation to serve it faithfully & honestly. Arewa, Biafra, Oodua republic for example would command more patriotism. We belong to our tribes first of all. For example, we belong to our family first before the street or city we live in. And many more. Solutions are possible with time. But we need a dedicated & selfless political elite to do the right thing. First is true devolution of powers to the regions. It can be 4 to 6 regions. 6 as it is now or SS, SE, SW, North. Or SS, SE, SW, Middle Belt, North. And with sweeping powers like own police, tax, employment, economic development, own resource control, anti-corruption, penal code, education rules/laws and implementation. etc. Richer regions would contribute around 50% to the centre for redistribution. But many think regionalism is preparing for disintegration. Wrong. Happy regional entities are likely to remain loyal than an unhappy behemoth like now. FG should handle defense/national security, foreign policy, currency, Federal crime/judiciary, aspects of employment, national infrastructure, issues of strategic national importance, etc. That way, fighting corruption can be done at regional level in addition to Federal. |
Stelvin101:Iara tell you say she wan born for Oshio Baba? She nor dey craze na. ![]() Even if she be elephant wey dey take 95 weeks (humans 40 weeks) of preggy to deliver, she for never deliver since. Since Oshio left govt house how many times have you seen Iara beside him in Abuja or any occasion? Her contract fit don quietly expire, we nor go know. |
Ol@ boy, You're between a rock and a hard place. It appears you had little experience with girls before marriage. You probably never experienced the true love of a lady previously. Ab initio, she was not in love with you at all. You probably gave her something she needed (like attention, economic assistance, etc) or she just wanted you as insurance/side dude. Many girls do this routinely. They keep one or several insurance dudes. The same friend that came to beg you must have begged the main guy before but he refused. Then it became imperative to get you back. Still she was too proud to come in person. Fact is that she's a very untrustworthy person. Like an unrepentant thief who only regrets disobeying the 11th commandment (don't be caught). If the main guy, her preferred hubby that never was, were to give her more attention & desire her, she'd bang him. That is if she hasn't o. She has made such a big fool of you bro. If you both have kids already, you really have no options at all. If not, as bad as divorce might be, you can free her to follow the guy she truly wants. If any kids, paternity test ASAP. Do you want to be in a marriage of perpetual mistrust for the next decades? If you can take that, go ahead bro. But do not expect her to change genuinely. She'll secretly loathe you for being so sneaky and finding out. Her promise of change is just to avoid the societal stigma of a marriage broken within a few years. She liked your mumu status, not this "wise" one.. That concealment of her true feelings can build up her ill will to a dangerous level. Being cornered make people dangerous. Beware. |
Wait o. Is BDC business not about cash? Even some roadside Aboki might easily have N100m to trade with. Why not try to trace the owner first and be sure? The BDC might be closed but could still be used for storage. Or they mean the plazza landlords have left the shop like that without being paid for 2 years? ![]() It could be looted money but EFCC should be sure first. |
Cyberrex:Who you dey ask na? Make you go try am come tell us the result. With all the titillating details o. ![]() |
