omogidi234:If they mean to find out, it won't take more than a few hours. We all know they already know. If it belongs to one of the govt sympathisers, they will cover it up. So that the gullible public will automatically assume it belongs to Jonathan. |
Love Machine:The truth will likely never be known. Especially if they find out that it belongs to a current APC member. I wonder how the owner of a flat in a place like Osborne Street can be hard to find out. No documents issued for the sale? |
Is Hon. Patrick Obahiagbon on Nairaland now? Masquerading as a woman? Dudugamy nko? ![]() |

1234onyekwe:By 9ja's corrupt standard, this is not really a large amount. Most governors & senior portfolio ministers would easily have $100 million dollars in off shore accounts. Not to mention value of real estate and front investments. We do not see the real cash like this mostly. Look dude, oil money is not seen by us directly. It is invisible money. But in advanced countries, your payslip shows your tax contribution per month/per year. So you are more conscious of govt money. Most Nigerians pay no tax, so the pain they feel over stolen oil money is less. They have never enjoyed the money anyway. How else do you explain the youths not flooding the streets in protest? We need foreigners to lead EFCC /ICPC. Like Canadians/Australians/New Zealanders (non-UK Commonwealth member citizens to avoid imperialism accusations). To ensure true neutrality and ethno-religious sentiments will be out of it. No emir/Oba/big man/politician to influence EFCC leadership. With stiff penalties, from minimum 10 years to life imprisonment. And forfeiture of ALL assets. |
Ebeleiscorupt:Since Nigeria began lifting oil, we have not earned up to $ 500Billion dollars. Since Oloibiri 1959. Estimate is about $300 to 350 billion. How then does a single block costs $500 billion? I can be sure you did not get an A in maths. If you did not by own effort only. If not you would know what $500 billion means. Danjuma and others that own the most lucrative oil blocks, how much are their blocks worth? Well, we know the fight to remove Jonathan was to enable Northerners renew our oil blocks due this year among themselves as usual. And SW supported them to get some crumbs from their table. The North awarded 80% to themselves over 40 years of ruling. My issue with you is your obsession with Jonathan as your name shows. I want investigation of all the thieves who took $12 billion, $16 billion road contract under OBJ and others. Abacha family returned $1billion willingly and well over $2 billion extra returned from abroad. More still pending abroad. Yet your likes and Buhari still believe he was never corrupt. So as long as someone is not Jonathan, he can still any amount and remain a saint? The two heads of state (names kept secret) that took Halliburton's $180 million are still alive. It is partly pay back for GEJ investigating that scandal. Investigate GEJ all you like but not him alone. IBB's $12 billion 26 years ago is over $ 20 billion in today's money. Why should those not be investigated? They're in their hilltop mansions still. You all claim PDP was corrupt, why are former PDP governors, senators, ministers, honourables now in APC not investigated? My epistle is for objective minds who silently read here. Because even TB Joshua, Pastor Chris and other MOGs cannot exorcise your "Zone B-ism", obsession and bigotry. It is a hopeless case. ![]() |

Ebeleiscorupt:Well, we can quote anything like. But substantiate it all. The law courts are there. Did you hear of Halliburton scandal in OBJ's time? How much was involved? Check it out. If GEJ was only corrupt as president, then you imply he was still poor after being a deputy governor and governor. Something very rare in 9ja so he did well. If Jonathan is richest president please prove it. Become a whistle-blower and even get 5% of the loot. What are you waiting for? Don"t just be speculating. Earn money if your allegations hold any water. The people who claimed GEJ was a rich president later publicly apologised, you remember? GEJ gave people freedom of speech. And people are still abusing that freedom. one of the most assuming line is ' it is common knowledge ' . A lot of common knowledge people assume are very wrong. Especially in politics, health and finance/economy. You will be surprised how many educated or who assume they are clever that good it wrong. I had such experience within a group with several Ph.D and MD who were guilty of it. I am talking of Oyinbo people even. |

shinarlaura:Madame Doula, please treat us to a sneak peak of the gorgeous beads in situ. ![]() |
Amberon:The SW easily compromises that position to curry favour from the North. Despite publicly saying they want restructuring. Some actually want, most secretly feel SW benefit from the current system too. Even though they know it is a bad system. And they feel SS/SE will benefit from it more than SW. If SW stood to benefit the most, they'd have pushed for it. I pray SW or the North discover massive resources on their soil. For now SS & SE virtually stand alone on it. |
Aromas:Throughout their tenure. Since they won't have anything concrete to offer, they will always blame GEJ. Like a bad workman always blaming his tool. Suddenly all the growth internationally recorded is fake according to one Yoruba man. Being world bank consultant now makes him superior to all other bodies/institutions. Continue to be a willing tool of the North. Just like Ahmadu Bello wanted and said in October 1960. |
deomello:Lol. He did what he was legally needed to declare. But what of Buhari who specially campaigned with openly declaring assets? Did he keep his promise? Buhari did what was legally needed but way short of what he willingly promised. Have you any evidence Jonathan ever promised declaration that he did not do? I have no sympathy for corruption. If Mrs Jonathan stole, let them take her to court. All we hear is media trial. Any idiot can do that. But still not evidence. They cannot do it because what Tinubu, Fashola, Amaechi, Fayemi and others stole dwarf Jonathan's. And they all know it. We should start the probe from 1999. Or do you have a problem with that? I am all for fighting corruption but it should be wholesale not based on ethnic selection or payback. Buratai in charge of military procurement in Dasuki's time has houses in Dubai. And you guys tell us he got the money from snake farming. Or does doing press ups pay so much these days? ![]() |
How can a country awash with natural resources neglect its citizens like this? Do state ministries of health have no plans for things like this? What about FG, church hospitals? Charity begins at home. Our pastors who go do healing abroad should first attend to this man. Foundations that are always in the media, like Big Church Foundation in Ghana recently should help. Nairaland TeHns can help too. |
Ebeleiscorupt:Obviously you were not around during Shagari, IBB & Abacha regime. Do you know about $12billion first gulf war oil windfall that IBB just took? How much Abacha loot has been returned so far? Dude, corruption has been with us for very long. Since the first republic. Nigeria thrives on corruption. Let nobody fool you. Jonathan is the poorest Ex-president in over 30 years. If not let them publicly show his assets and loot. Most ex-governors since 1999 have more money than GEJ. Money looted at all tiers (State, LGA, etc) were not by GEJ. Govt officials have always been corrupt. Even in Buhari regime right now. Jonathan had little chance of fighting corruption. There was too much tribal bias. Most wanted him to fail. Nigeria wasn't use to North/SW not controlling power at the centre. Hence he thought instead of pursuing those already ganging up against him (calling him militant punishing North/SW), fight corruption at source. Like using BVN, removal of oil subsidy, removing middlemen from fertilizer distribution, etc. If we are serious about corruption fight, we should at the very least start from 1999. Better still from 1985. There are still stolen moneys & assets to be recovered from IBB, Abacha, Abubakar, OBJ,GEJ's regime, all the governors and many more. GEJ's regime is the only one X-rayed so far. |
castrokins:I even refuse to laugh at the joke of 9ja. ![]() |
But his own people will soon come pouring insults on him. Most Nigerians have no business with the truth. In fact they are allergic to it. Hence we are where we are. |
AnthonioAlsaid:There is also a disciplinary Code of Conduct. How discipline is to be enforced or you think just anything goes? Did the Marshall adhere to that code, as the one correcting the erring female officer? That should be the main issue. |
What about telling those ladies to see him after the parade? Was the form of acceptable hairstyle even made clear to all women? If the lady was wearing a hijab covering her hair, would he ask her to remove it to check hair length? And then touch her to cut it if too long? Very crude public display of "sergeant major" power. |
Ok. Still inadequate really. |
Splinz:Nigerian youths are largely hopeless. No desire for the truth in anything. Hypocritical, pretentious, tribalistic and fiercely partisan. Nigeria will even get worse when this current youths take over power. Nothing about them indicates that they are even half as good as the old cargoes ruling us now. They mostly want instant wealth and miracles. SMH. |
Really massive Gaboon viper. Jeez. This would kill a human very easily with a bite. |
Discussion topic. many ladies sleep with men to make ends meet. So this topic is worth discussing. But as usual pretentious and self-righteous religious zealots & the legion of hypocrites will crucify the messenger than see the message. |

bishopkay:It is rare in Edo state. Where in Edo State is it not rare? It was fairly common (not even very common) all the way from South Eastern Ondo to Ovia/around Oredo/Orionmwon/Uhunmwode when I was a kid. It has not even been sighted for at least two decades in many areas. Up until around 1950, elephants or their footprints and ravaged trees/fruits trees and poo were regularly sighted in Benin part of Edo. People of my generation never got to see it. Leopards and some other cats, and chimps were regularly seen long ago. The most we saw were monkeys. All the former "ogbeni" (elephant killers/hunters) are either long dead or well over 90 years old now. |
eee777:I thank God for your health. But from my personal experience, most patients (especially chronic ones) are elderly people. My dear being ill is not because one is not favoured by God. Or one is a sinner. It is one major problem we have with many people from Southern hemisphere. They stigmatise illness and many refuse to come forward early. It makes work more difficult. A very healthy person in youth up to middle age or even 60 plus can later enjoy less good health. There is something patients argue often. Africans will most likely do because of lower life expectancy generally. When you tell them cancer is an illness of old age , they say "but I know a man of 35 who died of cancer". Yes, it happens but not the norm. Most patients are older people. I wish you more good health. |
baby124:Really? How do you know that? My graddad was monogamous even around 1899. My dad is monogamous too. How do you know for certain what my preferences are? My kids live in an environment 90% African kids do not have. With the best education, healthcare, life prospects like future employments, etc. Even your president had to use scarce forex to seek similar healthcare. Lol! I can see that everything you say is in sheer ignorance. Because I raise issues that exist in Nigeria that people like you chose to be hypocritical about doesn't mean that is my way. Someone like you only care about your narrow personal interest. Sorry, the world does not revolve around anyone of us only. Believe it or not, the ladies who sleep with those men would not do it if they had better propositions. They would also not get pregnant anyhow if they were empowered to look after themselves better. That should be your fight. Not to speculate about the lives of people you do not know. If you have any personal anger against any man who may have used you, please take your anger there o. ![]() Peace. Please explain what is wrong with my scientific jargon madam. Thank you. |
eee777:Hahahahaha. Like a typical African, we quote God, God, God. Look, God gave us everything we need to excel and help ourselves . Heaven helps those who help themselves. Does it not surprise you that in a country full of pastors, Imams, deacons, deaconneses, JPs, Alhajis, our president has to go to UK to treat anaemia? A place that puts logic, science & research first, and consider religion a private thing? ![]() I have no doubt that given a chance you would prefer to be treated by Western medics if seriously ill. Those foreign may not even believe in God than compared local medics that may even double as pastors or deacons. ![]() It is because we have used religion to abdicate our duties. |
baby124:This is medicine, not speculation. You think everyone on NL just talks anyhow? Some people here on NL actually do cutting-edge stuff. So you have no idea people actually research into this? Yes people do. The new developments and progress we have to rely on the West to do, do not come by way of miracle, but sheer hard work & dedication. Over decades. Miscarriages happen mostly because as the foetus develops, defects in vital organs (brain, heart, kidneys, etc) make it incompatible with life. The defects can have various causes like teratogenic medication, chemical exposure, radiation exposure, drug abuse/addiction, etc. But the main cause is genetic defects which happens to affect more male foetuses. This is what researchers have found by taking & analysing DNA samples from left over of the foetuses for genetic defects linked to gender. No wonder we Africans are so much in the dark. It certainly won't make any sense to you. Because using education to enlighten oneself about scientific advancement is hardly the way of many of us Africans. We rather seek miracles instead. Check census figures for countries and see the breakdown by gender. In light of comments that followed this piece since it was posted 6 days ago, breakdown by gender includes the age ranges (especially one in which reproductive age is covered at 15 to 64). Anyway, I am not writing to convince you. I'm writing for those scientifically minded/progressive people silently reading here. Those that would actually go and find out about what I have mentioned here. |
bukatyne:What of those who do not believe in same God you believe in? Look around you. Do you not see more young widows than young widowers? In war, which gender die the most? Men. I'm not basing my submission on what you think God intended. That is your personal belief. Around 60% of world population (India, China & a larger number of Western population do not believe your God theory). I am talking based on scientific reality of today. There is higher population of women than men. Partly due to XY chromosome whereby X-linked diseases male inherit from mother cannot be corrected by another X chromosome like females can do. Miscarriage of male pregnancy is higher & child mortality of males is higher too. Then in adulthood war, hazardous jobs, riskier lifestyle like smoking/drinking, traffic accidents and more all reduce male population well below female's. This is a scientific fact seen around us. We're very far from Eden where it was just Adam & Eve, driven out long ago to face all kinds of hazards. ![]() In Africa, modern pentecostalism blinds us to what is under our nose korokoro. Even those who would claim to be educated. |
