Sorry bro, I disagree, yes all politicians have those deceitful inclinations, but generally speaking the average politician in these countries is way different from ours who will be very happy to see a grown man polish his shoes in public.
No mind am.

I was rushing to a nearby exam hall one day when I nearly knocked down a senior UK govt cabinet minister with my body. He suddenly came out of a shop, a suits shop I think it was. His position was considered PARTICULARLY sensitive then.

His secret service guy just stepped in to hold him. I was not tackled down to the ground by a legion of gun-totting policemen/soldiers. That would have been the case in 9ja.

I only realised who he was when I looked back and two Jags pulled up and he was entering one of them. Then I saw his face. I learnt later that those were armoured bullet-proof Jaguars. cool

worldmoney:
why is d media all of a sudden so quiet
Media is controlled by SW.
SW is in Tinubu's pocket.

We have seen this many times in 9ja history.

SW blasted Shagari & encouraged Buhari to take over.

SW media backed Abacha when it appeared he was friendly towards Abiola. After Abacha consolidated his power, media tune changed.

SW media turned against GEJ and he lost election.

All these are recent history.

I did not witness it but records are there: SW media turned against Tafawa Balewa and the crisis that broke out partly due to it (there were other reasons) is well-known. Certainly Akintola's alliance with Balewa caused the media blast.

The media will become vocal again the minute Buhari falls out seriously with Tinubu. Just wait and see.

Oshiomole has done more for the Binis than any other governor including Ogbemudia.
For where?

Ring Road? For the amount of money he got in allocation?

Ogbemudia's few years in office can never be compared to 8 years of Oshio. Oshio is a complete dwarf as in real life. grin cheesy

You obviously were not around then. You will not know his legacy like Uniben, Ogbe/Ogbemudia stadium, roads with drainages that were still superb well into early 1990s, schools and many more. Who do you think built those highly visible schools that Oshio painted in his first term in office?

Remember that Oshio came to power largely on the vote of Edo South. Ogbemudia's a military appointment (aside under three months civilian rule in in 1983). He did not need to please anyone to be re-elected but he worked well anyway.

Once Oshio was re-elected, his only project was imported high maintenance foreign wife & a quasi-private university in his village.
Lucky was all round useless. I admit that easily.

All of dem na same jor.
Some just do cosmetics in some highly visible areas in their first term and use the rest to siphon.

Some like Lucky Igbins just siphon for 8 years straight.

Oshio's main gaff recently is to ignore the importance of history in Edo South that supported him for 8 years.

Otherwise, APC would have had a better, if only slim, chance of winning. The race is wide open now as it is.

PDP won the last presidential election in Edo.

And only a true connoisseur appreciates the value of a gem.
Na wa o. I was at university with people from most of Asia, Europe and North America. Most tried to be the best. None condoned excuses. It made for a very stimulating environment. I confirmed what teachers in 9ja told us back then: work hard and excel here at home and you will excel in ANY university anywhere in the world.

I wonder what happened to that 9ja Can-do spirit. Even if you end up just missing out on 1.1 but at the very least you tried your level best.

The argument people put up against excellence here is why Asians: Chinese, Singaporeans, South Koreans, Japanese and others will remain ahead of us.

Are we happy with the current 9ja system of mediocrity and long leg? Should we not start striving to take 9ja to where our fathers and grandfathers failed to reach? Are we happy to perpetuate the rotten system we have now? Should we not start pursuing merit & excellence in whatever we do? shocked

People keep quoting Zuckerberg & Gates who got admission into Harvard but left willingly when they set their minds on other things.
How are they mediocre?

cardoctor:
Pharmacists should never be allowed to prescribe drugs to any patient. It's a doctors responsibility. Doctors carry out extensive check ups to ascertain conditions that would make any medication favourable for an ailment. A pharmacists job is to dispense the medication as prescribed by a doctor.

@Op. You made the mistake of relying on a pharmacist for your prescription. Thank God it wasn't fatal.
. Even in UK pharmacists can prescribe. Usually minor ailments. Even some nurses with special training can.

If the pharm swapped the prescription given by a doc, then it was wrong. He should have sent him back to the doc since the pharm doesn't have the full medical history.

Because the doc might have a reason for giving that particular antibiotic drug instead of the apparently superior one: allergy, resistance, etc.

Confessing your wrong deeds does not exempt you from worldly, disciplinary or legal rebuke or punishment. Being set free is with regard to heaven/salvation/God.

If you are a driver and got involved in serious fraud or theft and abused your position and trust (not saying this happened here), you cannot really expect to keep that job despite confession.

I sincerely pray you do not REGRET this wrong decision of yours.

By your own admission, she didn't feel remorse for the betrayal but rather about the integrity of her elderly ones. I shake my head for you OP. You want to play loving husband where you are supposed to take action. You have isolated yourself for the kill by not not involving anyone at least your dad.

You are not safe with a weak-minded and scheming wife... If she's manipulated to harm you in order to put you in check or conceal the truth who do you think will suffer the impact the most? You think your wife love you more than your parents?? You don't trust the opinion of your parents? You have a bigger consequence coming your way. Trust me. A woman that can act out a script to frame you up, who is content to bring you into disrepute before your and her family?? You think you know your wife...just wait for it. You will know a woman is never to be made insecure.

We are a product of our decisions. I pray God's help for you.

I'm telling you. A very unwise guy.

A woman hell bent on harming you doesn't care if she has ten kids for you.

A woman already planning life without him with her siblings, he went confronting her as if you quarrelled over chop money.

She began setting the stage to discredit him before both families. So that when she's ready to leave him, nobody will be surprised. Or even if bludgeoned to death, she could claim self defence against a violent hubby.

If they were in the Western world, she would by now have kicked his black ass into the cold outside using the police, over framed up domestic violence. grin cheesy

Some women tell worse lies than this, including bringing you a child they know is not yours. All without batting an eye.

You were serving, just not stated location. You are working just not stated location.
Wrong to lie but I see no biggie here if you are ready to come clean and stop bobos.

Don't lace your coming clean with marriage proposal. It would seem like a bribe.

Come clean and see how she reacts. If she forgives, marry her.

If she does not forgive, let her go. You don't need an unforgiving wife, no matter how much you think you are in love.

Good luck.

Sorry to hear that.

Use this opportunity to ask your mum if your dad is your biological dad. Seems abnormal for a man of 64 under whom you grew up to be ogling your behind. They might have adopted you because they had no girl among their kids.

Do you dress provocatively around the house that the "looking" is actually done in disgust?

I don't think you should give up your rented place if you can. But still return home, even if partly.

Your mum is seriously ill, should the unexpected happen (May God heal her), you don't want to stay at home but return to your rented house.
