Congrats to her.

But why can't some of these celebs just live a normal life?

To marry & have a child is a normal thing. Why make so much secret out of it?

I remember years back, Omawumi was hiding the identity of her baby daddy as if it was some Soviet era KGB top secret. shocked grin cheesy

Our celebrities need learn how to ignore criticism

You don't have to comment always
I tell ya.

Mercy could have said "Ma, the price is determined by cost price, so this price is quite moderate for the pair of shoes. It is USA/UK/Aba/Okrika/ Italy or whatever product o". It was a chance for her to advertise the shoes even more.

Do not just dismiss anyone who says the price is high. She might just be expressing what other potential customers are thinking.

In 9ja we generally have poor customer service skills. You are NEVER bigger than your customers as a general rule, not even if you're Dangote.

Anenih gave a lotof quota for esan people to be in the police force but aside that no visible development did he lure to esan land after serving in Obj and Gej government
You are right. Anenih has always been a godfather, personal loyalty & personal reward politician. He appointed and promoted lots of his Esan godsons like Elder Ugbesia.

He could not even repair the road (FG part of it) leading to Uromi, his hometown, let alone Benin-Lagos Road as Minister of Works.

A total failure regarding development in Edo generally.

Or you want to remain a dullard? undecided

RIP to the dead.
9ja's case seems irredeemable. No single sector works. To be fair this failure has accumulated over decades.

Where do we even start? Light, /transport/roads/accidents, rotten healthcare, education, crime/Law & order, poverty/hunger, bad economy, joblessness, hopelessness?

A brave govt starts one by one, with the most urgent first. But it seems there is urgency in every sector right now.

W cannot continue like this. If we do, the implosion that will ensue will be pathetic.

Could be Cyanide. Most ppl in d village often die of cyanide poisoning bc d commonest food eaten there is cassava. Abacha (cassava flakes) not well prepared has wiped out many families.

I remember the one that happened years ago in Anambra, the whole family died after they ate cassava that was not prepared well, ppl started suspecting foul till autopsy report confirmed cyanide poisoning
I wonder o. Only toxicology can tell. Eating certain species of cassava cooked as tuber can release a lethal dose of hydrocyanic acid. It kills goats easily, also humans.

Faulty old electrical appliances may also release carbon monoxide. All have to be explored first.

Christianity Etc › Re: What Does Matthew 5:29-30 Really Mean? by AreaFada2: 7:33am On Jul 17, 2016
Like many things Jesus said, he was speaking in parables. Remember that most people were hard working manual workers then, parts of the body were indeed very precious, just like now.

Losing hands and legs in a time without technology for travelling, farming, braille and so on was almost like death sentence from destitution.

In essence, no matter how important or pleasurable the things are that make you sin and separate you from God, you should give them up. So we must pay a price and make important sacrifice to stay on the path of righteousness.

AnonyNymous:
Its not about the price, but about the quality. . . I was lucky enough to attend a private elementary school in the US where the school fees per semester were just $800 (equivalent to N80,000 at the time). But I can CONFIDENTLY say that the quality of education I received was far more than all these private schools in Lagos that basically write exams for the kids. . .
The price is steep though. Certainly by 9ja standards/average income.

We still complain that UK boarding schools charge around £19K to £25k on average per year. Comparing average incomes, it is far more moderate. And the standards are usually very high.

Not again.

May God never let this woman ever carry the joy of the womb again.

Amen.
No. If anything pray for her to retrace her steps and fulfil her motherly role to this innocent child.

Things happen for a reason. Thank God it survived & therefore not too late.

As condemnable as her action is, she still needs our prayer. And do not forget, the child's father might be in cahoots.

Even Moses in the Bible was given up for reasons beyond his mother's control then. But became one of the greatest saints.

See u, Op is a polytechnic graduate.
Truth 2 be told, does are the facts.
Our polytechnics needs 2 be reformed.
I think universities need even more reform. To focus more on research, the mainstay of any country that seeks true diversification of the economy. Too much theory & cramming right now.

Over the past 20 years, Chinese PhD students massively populate UK & American schools. They pay the high fees but take lots of knowledge in STEM back home. We had one working/researching with one of the top (few) experts/professors in Biosensors many years back. They can even barely speak English. But they get the research done.

I won't be surprised if that guy/associates now run a company producing cheap diagnostic biosensors/machines for export, that Western companies cannot price match.

Lol. 9ja is a very funny place. Both have different remits. Polytechnics were intended to produce technically trained staff for 9ja industry and mid level personnel. University to produce more academic and professional cadre workforce.

But polys now churn out gazillion ONDs in non-technical art courses. Universities not doing much better.

You now have students just studying whatever, wherever because that was what they got admitted to. shocked

Women need to first know what a real woman is, try to be one, before worrying about a real man.

Back in the day, no biggie. Even a cousin or a girl from a different tribe but we grew up as neighbours. Neighbours were often introduced outside as "sister" or " brother". Such innocence would now be called primitive. grin

Nigerians don't read.

Shame.

Sanudi is basically saying the minister of powers hands are tied because the dams are controlled by the ministry of water resources, gas for turbines are controlled by the ministry of petroleum, the price of electricity is controlled by the NERC, and d supply to homes is controlled by DISCOs because PHCN was privatized.

He is basically making excuses on behalf of d ministry of power (and indirectly supporting fashola). He's saying the ministry should have more powers as d minister of power doesn't have any say concerning d aspects of power availability.
I said exactly so here earlier but I have been told that I do not understand the political undertone in Sanusi's message. We have become so suspicious in 9ja that we like to decipher the cryptic message even in "good morning". grin

So u cant read the political handwritinghuh
The first is to show how helpless the man is,they will then move him to another ministry.
Have you forgotten the bola ige power ministry saga during obj tenure?
To be honest, having looked at how poorly managed various departments are, I believe BRF was handed a poisoned chalice of a ministry. Maybe not purposely but it is one of those positions you can still fail even after making massive efforts.

I have to admit that failing being president, I wanted Fash to have these three merged positions and be a quasi prime minister. Even before election last year. Coincidentally Buhari did.

You know what, taking him to another ministry could be politically good for Fash. Maybe a place he can excel quicker. Because at the rate things are going, I have serious doubts that he can significantly change light situation or even lay a solid enough foundation in the next 2 years and 10 months.

No guarantee he will be there after May 2019.

Actually I think Emir's speech highlights Fashiola's challenges.
