Kasnel:Abi o. He's using Jonathan's watch to set his own. His watch will always be late. I hope next year, the story will not be "oh, things were far cheaper during GEJ's time. Hence 18 billions did more than 200 billions. He has budgeted, hope he will actually get to release that money. With this info, the pussycat of Ubima won't have any excuse. |
Sunnymatey:This man is suffering from acute and chronic Jonathanitis. Haba! Can't he just mind his own business? While at it, I hope he intends to add to the hundreds of Almajiri schools GEJ built. And hope he can send those rampaging herdsmen to agricultural schools to learn modern ways of agriculture. If una wan ban me, go ahead please. |
missuniverse:People forget that Nigeria is oil junky. How much did Nigeria FG lose directly daily when Bo.ko was bombing Borno? Very little I guess. Aside effect on Borno local economy and scaring of potential FDI. With oil installations, FG directly loses money. Huge money. A man of sound intellect like Yar'Adua knew better. Militants, Boko and common crimes are largely due to failure of government over decades. And many of those in power today have been part of it. Apart from economic consequences, this could encourage armed struggle in some other parts. Especially as Fulani herdsment issue has been so badly handed by FG. Buhari will need wisdom killing a tse-tse fly perched on his scrotum. |

PIPPROF:My brother, the way supporters of APC & APC whine about GEJ, you will think GEJ is still manning Aso Rock. ![]() Haba! You said things were close to Apcalypse under GEJ and you wanted just 6 months to bring us to Uhuru. Nigerians obliged. Now, they even whinge and lie more than when in opposition. I do not doubt Buhari's good intentions but anyone who witnessed his military govt would not be surprised by events unfolding. The man is too rigid, doesn't know how to motivate colleagues to excel, cannot take difference of opinion within his circle and cannot carry even his closest people along. APC ministers are already complaining even. Those who excelled in governance like Bill Clinton, Tony Blair, John Kuffuor etc, all knew how to make people around them feel trusted & important. But our own dear Bubu already dismissed his ministers to be as "mere noise makers". We can all witness the ineffectual silence of the mere noisemakers since appointment. They don't even have a budget to work with 6 months on. ![]() |
Na wa o. The poor v. the poor |
OP sef no try. You leave that babe wey set well well dey picture Baba Iyabo look-alike. ![]() |
slyng:Correction: that is not his real face o. |
Eluwilussit:True, No Tinubu, no APC. But at the end, history will only remember him well at the national level if APC succeeds in govt. And there's a big if. As it stands, he has engineered the election of a govt over which he has little influence. Maybe it's all good though. If Buhari underperforms, everyone would say the govt would have done better if Tinubu had more influence in it. But it will all be academic decades from now. It will be called Buhari civilian govt. How many youths today know the role of Umaru Dikko & Akinloye in getting Shagari to power? |
opineflu:What have you invented? Motor car, aeroplanes, and others were invented by ordinary people. Many of those inventions were not even done by highly educated people. It was not culture that invented many things but individual curiosity. What have you contributed? We we now call Western education began in Egypt. With many top officials there being black people, even black pharaohs at some point. Black contributed to arts and metallurgy. Benin arts, Ife arts, Nok culture arts were not made by clueless people. Maybe your main problem is lack of historical knowledge. Google list of things invented by black people. |
Eluwilussit:But it should not surprise anyone. El-Rufai and co are working very hard to control things. They believe they are "the natural leaders of 9ja". The earlier spat between El-Rufai and Osinbajo was just a proxy one between Buhari camp and Tinubu camp for party control. Tinubu would also want Saraki severely punished. While most of the party including Atiku want reconciliation, fearing damage to the party. I don't think Tinubu will really be happy after missing out on VP. A post he believes he thoroughly deserved. |
opineflu:But then you happily copy oyinbo culture. So you prefer deception by other people's ancestors. ![]() I would rather my ancestors, based on their wisdom, philosophy and genuine intentions, deceive than to allow Chinese or American or other such deceive me. |
Eiya! RIP Mr. |
Beremx:Ok. Give update. |
crazygod:Or dress up those masquerades that dance on poles . |
]yes it's government acquisition certified. surveying of the area is no problem. those who own lands there have done theirs successfully m no flood issues. I have no pictures. the pictures I snapped are in my former phone which is not working. the lands are located in a beautiful estate which has beautiful and serene environment.
Clarify this ma. Govt acquisition is big wahala gan gan. Or you mean free of acquisition?? ok, being inside an estate is a good thing. Are people already living inside the estate? And please state the current price of 120 x 60 and if any other costs are involved in addition to cost of the land. Thanks. |
mrking3:Nothing unusual about it. Very common in UK. Only recently MSc/MA are demanded routinely (if you have 1.1 or 2.1 from a good/top university) before admission to PhD. In any case, you're usually enrolled for MPhil initially and you can progress to PhD if your work meets required standard. The only worry should talk of is funding. If that's no issue and you did not lie about your academic credentials/practical experience, no fear. Also try to find out the standard/quality of the university. Very unlikely that McGill University or any other top university in Canada will make you such an offer. I may be wrong though. |
Beremx:Any idea about govt acquisition in the area? Has anyone successfully surveyed a plot around there? And flood issue? Any pics of the said plots? How far from nearest built up area? Thanks. |
macof:Oba does leave palace. Just not anyhow. Oba Akenzua very rarely did. Erediauwa did more but still very moderately. Certainly in ancient times even less. But Europeans had records of Oba on horseback with a large retinue of courtiers, drummers, trumpeters, dwarves and leopards going through the city even the 16 the century. Because oba is so rarely seen, the folklore is that he doesn't leave the palace. |
rabzy:Don't mind that guy. He thinks we are the days people could twist history anyhow. The usual gratitude to Ife for giving refuge to the Benin son, izoduwa, corrupted to Ododuwa has now been abused and twisted. This no nonsense crown prince could make profound changes. Something tells me we have a prince in the mold of Ewedo, Esigie, Ozolua and Ewuare. The controversy of superiority caused by Alake of Abeokuta came just at the right time. |
Pheals:Lol. Anyone can sit anywhere faraway and say their granddad or grandma, who has no access to or any coonections to the palace said so and so. There are many myths out there. But I just told you the reality. I don't need any research by outsiders when I have relatives as palace chiefs. |
talktonase:I'm her supporter BUT if indeed she stole such an amount, she should cough out every penny and still go to jail. No mercy. You cannot steal that amount in the midst of massive poverty and expect soft landing. |
Beremx my sister, are these plots still available? Which title documents are available? |
ogmask:You're correct. In Benin, the monarchy is super stable. There is no fear of vacuum or princes fighting each other for the throne. The structures, processes and procedures are very exact. When the Oba is indisposed, only very few selected princes & chiefs/functionaries can see him. He's to be remembered as a vibrant healthy king. Even after he departs certain rites must be done first. These are centuries old procedures. It is quite elaborate and hard work for the crown prince. |
Pheals:A total lie. How can Oba not leave palace? Until after Oba Orhogbua, who was Oba from about 1550AD-1578 AD, Oba used to lead the soldiers to war. Ozolua spent 6 years in Edo North camped on the shores of River Niger fighting off Idah People. Oba Erediauwa had a nationwide "thank you" tour after coming to power. I remember him visiting my uncle's ducal palace, in the state wide tour before going nationwide. Up to Sultan of Sokoto's palace. This pic in Ooni's palace must have been taken during that tour. What Oba doesn't do is go to parties, occasions and outings anyhow. In any case, affinity between Ife, Owo & Lagos ruling houses & benin monarchy is long standing. Only modern people these days like to promote discord instead of unity. |

ivyy:You maybe right though. How many ladies marry for love these days. If I go into town and flaunt wealth, whether got dubiously or honestly, you bet many pretty girls would be ready to hook up. Maybe it seemed good for her career at that time. Tunji made the mistake of depending on a modern 9ja woman's money. 9ja woman takes your money, you don't taker hers. ![]() |
MadCow1:Benson Idahosa, godfather of Nigerian Pentecostalism came from Benin. Which Nigerian city doesn't have these crimes? Which city has no burglary or thieves or car snatchers or kidnappers these days? Surprisingly, despite Benin been referred to as diabolical, you don't here of incessant ritual killings and forests littered with sacrificial deaf bodies as in many other places? Bigots should not hide behind such news to spew nonsense. |
uncle005:Who govt epp? Is there light, water or fuel already? Are federal schools not closed hear and there? Are hospitals and others not already poorly funded? We have survived 4 months already. We will survive another 8 months. If various govt branches (both headed by APC), cannot appoint ministers on time or work out a credible budget on time, what can we do? If they cannot do the job we pay them for, should we spend our lives in suspense rather than focus on how to feed our families? |
They should kukuma forget this budget and prepare for next year budget if at all. PMB is not keen on these democratic things of NASS doing something and he agreeing with it. Let him just practice his dictatorship for the remaining three years. At least none of his voters can pretend that they did not know his antecedents. |
