First of all I don't trust Sammy... because men can be so crafty... I mean what do you know about his business, his earlier lifestyle and what is the real reason why he Travelled. have you done this research....
My dear don't base your heart on love alone.... because no marriage can stand on love alone

Secondly, for your ex.... I will advise you not to go back to him... One reason is that men are strong and vibrant and natural born leaders... If a man cannot stand for himself with the love he has for you and marry you even against his father''s wishes then he is not going to stand for you in much more difficult situations..

Secondly, he gave up on you too quickly, by going to marry another girl.... meaning that his father controls him... If his father hadnt accepted in the end that means he wont have come back for you....

Thirdly, think about the other woman that just got married to him... Thats one reason why you should off him

Fourthly, Wait for a genuine man.... Search the net, read books and you will understand what a real man is made up off my dear....

Love cannot keep a marriage forever... If it could then why are so many american marriages falling apart today after the expensive weddings in which the man professed his love...

Stay Healthy, Stay Wise
Please be careful how you advise people before you seriously damage people. This is over-generalisation.
A friend advised my teenage love I left in 9ja to study abroad exactly like same.

While I was trying to make ends meet as a foreign student, trying to do nothing against the law, avoiding all the succulent babes from wealthy families in my school, my 9ja babe went ahead and marry another person.

Quite funny that the guy she married is also a very abusive man. When I returned, she was in the middle of one their many break-ups.

Anyhow, she's enduring a torrid marriage now. I was initially devastated, but I have moved on now.

Check some of my old posts from years back. I have mentioned this many times before.

Many people studying abroad have to work very hard to see themselves through, financially & emotionally. No sorting or buying pamphlets to pass.
Please stop your generalisation, and quit sounding authoritative on this issue.

My friend, many SANs you see today also went through hard time for years.

If you're passionate about law, remind yourself daily why you first read law.

Observing proceedings is already good.

Don't be shy to approach junior lawyers waiting for their boss to arrive at the court. Tell them you're ready to work.

As a boy, I used to go to court to observe proceedings (I have no business with law) but I always saw young lawyers milling around the court.

As a lawyer, I presume you have "sweet mouth".

If they cannot help you, they can point you in the right direction.

These people at the helm of affairs should stop disgracing the country. The last count- controversial as others before it- was in 2006. Revisit, correct and improve upon it.
When we said Buhari should stop his incessant begging for assistance wherever he goes, they said we were Wailers.

I also did same ... Omitting ur class of degree gives the HR and Impression that this guy didn't do too well in school...

I clearly stated my class of degree followed by the CGPA much better that way(if the difference to the next class of degree is just marginal)

As for those who are of the opinion that the class of degree should not be included, there's only two things that can happen it's either the HR out of his/her own discretion decides to invite you perhaps for the fact your CV looks rich based on some of the contents such as " leadership roles, awards, professional experience, professional certifications, and other selling points " or He/ she decides to sidelines ur CV and use the fact that u omitted your class of degree as a criteria to downsize the number of applications, that's just it

Now we should also keep in mind that there are numerous factors that could earn you an invite ur class of degree alone doesn't do it all, but there are some HR who looks forwards to your the Awards and Leadership roles section on your CV, while some are more interested in your experience and so on.....
I agree.
But I cannot remember any of my school colleagues winning awards and accolades and leadership ish that didn't make distinction/merit, 1.1 or 2.1. Depending on how the degree course is classified.

Professional certifications for 2.2 & below are usually an afterthought (not exclusively though), to make himself/herself sellable.

Doing certifications alongside degree course takes some good level or organisation, intelligence and discipline.

During undergrad years, certain people were allowed to do PG diploma (not certification but academic) alongside. BUT condition was a high level of performance in the degree over previous three years.

To do certification alongside privately, you will not want to bite more than you can chew.

No Bro,they will ask during an interview session not before or during submission of CV's thats my point. Guess you might have seen posts were peeps say they have seen 2:2 materials that are far much better than 2:1 peeps? I can tell you most times they are smarter and more intelligent, your grade doesn't define you.
Well, I have seen a couple of guys capable of getting 1.1 who got 2.2.
Both lost focus early on the course. This was a school where all your time in the university count towards your degree. Last two years contributing more of course.
They could not make up well enough for earlier slips in the final year.

Ability to work hard over a long period to achieve a stated goal, to still perform well irrespective of pressure, distraction, challenges. That is the point of your degree class partly, and it is a thing most employers desire in their staff.

There are many extremely intelligent people who wasted their abilities. Because they lack the other aspects of intelligence like focus, determination & discipline.

Now you twisted my point talking about "degree class defining people". There are school drop outs who are now billionaires. Zuckerberg, Phillip Green & Gate come to mind.

But would you advise your siblings to leave university half-way and come sit at home because of Zuckerberg's & Gate's success?

Of course if you end up with a 2.2 or third class or a pass, you can still make it big. You may have to try harder to get a foot in.

I'm certain that given a choice, an average human being would take a 2.1 over 2.2 when graduating.

Ecclesiastes 9:11.

"I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all."

I beg to disagree.. this classes or grades actually do not make make sense, at least to a large extent.

You call someone that finished with a 3.49 a second class lower student and label him "dull" or "less intelligent "

You then call someone that finished with a 3.50 a second class upper student and label him a more intelligent fellow.

You refuse to give the former a job because of your assumption, while you give the latter a job because of your assumption.

The first thing to note is that the difference between these two is insignicant and putting them in different class doesn't make sense at all.

It is very possible that the guy with 3.49 is actually a better student depending on the difficulty of his course of study, strictness of the examiners, human error while marking his scripts, the conditions of learning in his school environment .. etc.. in order words basing your decision on absolute figures can be misleading, factors that could determine a good grade should always be put into concern.

What most employers do is like investing in a company simply because it has a higher profit than other companies, without taking into consideration factors that could have led to the higher profit (like the weighted average number of shares used to generate the profit and other capital).

All in all, those classes are meaningless as they ascribe an ability to a person based on historical conditions, you should employ people based on what they are now or who they are now, not who they are 7 years ago.

So I totally disagree with you that 95% of the time, your grade shows your intelligence, that's too false.
Dude, the sad truth is that there's nothing you can do about it. Performance has to be measured.

If doing military screening exercise and you are to run x km within y minutes compulsorily, if you miss it by a few seconds, you're out. It doesn't matter if you would have single-handed wiped out Boko menace because you would have become Schwarzenegger of Nigerian Army. cheesy grin

If you also don't meet grades for medical school admission, you won't go. It doesn't matter if you have extremely dexterous hands and would have become an excellent surgeon.

Those who set up these criteria know from historical evidence that these things are important. The fairness or unfairness of it is irrelevant.

Standards have to be set. That is the real world. None of us will ever always get everything we think we deserve each time. cool

Perhaps it ll be better for you argue about what you know. Not all organisations love paper work, some of them do request you fill an online CV format where the classes of degree options are just "Distinction" and "Second class". No column for even your actual grade.

In CV writing, we know those stuffs that are mandatory, and definitely stating your type of second class is not one of them.

Human resources are more concerned about your vision, authenticity of your certificates and results irrespective of your class and your ability to meet their set goals.

In Nigeria, emloyer required for specified age, grade, location and other factors to reduce the no of application received
if that is the case why the lamentation of many 2.2 graduates here and outside here?
It does not matter which format the cv takes, online or hard copy, it is still CV. And anyone confident of his grade will include it. A friend of mine from UK top university, with a 2.2, with internship experience and more, never even got the chance to state his vision.

All his 2.1 and 1.1 fellow graduates with less internship or none were interviewed with most employed or even selecting which offer to accept. He only got to work in a multinational after MSc.

A wrong assertion. Even some 2.1 graduate don't remember to include it.

Unless your employer specified that it must be on your CV, it is not mandatory
How many forget that? You think removing/forgetting the grade will sell you better initially than including it? If you forget that maybe you don't deserve the 2.1.

I have seen many CV formats, attended cv writing sessions even as a student and how it has changed over the past 20 years plus. From including age, nationality and not including them. From including all qualifications/degrees to not including if attained over ten years earlier unless crucial to the job you seek, etc.

You could say nothing is mandatory. You can also write just your name and address and post. And wait for prospective employer to call you because you have made them curious with that. And they now have a burning desire to know your degree course, school, profile, aspirations, goals, etc. grin cheesy

Trouble is he did not intend to kill her but she died, no way anyone would believe him. Rushing her to hospital might have proved readiness to save her life at least.
