wristbangle:People like you have this bigmanity mentality. As a hospital volunteer years back, we had to wheel out bodies from the morgue to the chapel of rest for families to view. A bit later, it helped me in pathology & anatomy sessions. While some students were feeling queasy, I just got on with it relaxed. ![]() Fortunately, Westerners don't look down on you based on your job. A cleaner I know used proceeds from it to set up businesses back in Lagos. Employing graduates now. Some collecting N40k Naira monthly. ![]() Hardworking cleaners, Security guards, carers and cabbies can earn up to £30k (some even more) a year. That is same as a medical House Officer just starting job. After 5 to 6 years at university. Consider also that around 10% of medical students over last 10 years already had a PhD, around 23% an MSc/MA nearly 40% with a BSc/BA before going to medical school. Many foreigners also pay their way through BSc to PhD doing so-called menial job. Many are now lecturers/HOD in 9ja. Some doing menial jobs & studying soon find that after finishing, with MSc job offers are £25k/year. His menial job already gives him £31K/year. If he's a bit mature and has kids, current job allows him to do school run and wife can work steady. Total family income = £59k/year. Should he take £25k job with MSc, then ask the wife to stay at home? Lose £34k/year? And hope some day his career will progress and earn more? You cannot use 9ja mentality to judge what happens abroad. Many permutations make people do what they do. You have to be in the position first to know. Above all, there's dignity in labour. ![]() |
xynerise:if na WAEC, he must be a much worse slowpoke than I thought. As long as no miscarriage of justice, he should do his time jeje. |
Iro o. Baba Iyabo is number one. Everyone "nose" he's head & shoulder handsomely above all others. ![]() |
texazzpete:OP said "many allegations", to the point he admits been unhappy about the whole information. Who said it's just dumping one guy? In a short period of quarrel, she slept with another guy already. Still with the OP o. So any time she has quarrel with hubby (normal thing in most unions) na to go bleep another man? |
misspicy:Lol. Cheeky curious girl. ![]() Well, years back during Xmas I met this nice young lady. First impressions: She was decent, Christian family. The dad really came across as very decent, amiable & humble man. The mum somewhat pushy, like some Afro mums. ![]() My only worry was age gap & distance: She over 5 years younger & I in diaspora. Then she claimed she was a virgin. Hmmmmm ok. I was not looking for a virgin, but if she is, fine. I didn't really wanna waste time but decided to observe a bit. Visited her a few times. I was now set to perfect things. When we couldn't wait to "chop apple", she said being virgin, unless I will marry her, no apple. I said, even if she wasn't virgin, I'd marry her. Though what I found was the regular Badagry Express sha o, but I know female anatomy enough to know reasons why she might not appear virgin. Even if actually a virgin. I didn't care anyway, I liked her very much. Suddenly a female relative got wind that the young lady had ruined her womb a few years earlier. In a botched abortion! The relative has many contacts in the healthcare sector. ![]() Holy cow! How did that happen? Spiritual pregnancy? But she said she was a virgin. Then came the pushy mum proper. She said no problem at all, all in order. Shebi na you first chop the apple. Just take abroad and all will be splendid. ![]() I insisted on doing test first in 9ja. The mum tried to stop it. The dad was ok with it. You know dads never really know these abortion things daughters do. After much foot dragging & trying to influence the doc to give it all clear, it finally came to light that her womb was severely damaged. Despite clear medical evidence, the mother kept saying it's a minor thing, that it can be rectified abroad. That woman doesn't even know MMA. Still she never admitted any abortion took place. Our informant witnessed the abortion first hand. ![]() Mistakes can happen. But denying and trying to dupe others is unacceptable. If they had admitted right away and come clean, then fine. What hope has a marriage built on such a fundamental lie? Any how, I wasted over 2 years of life in courtship with that lady. ![]() |
texazzpete:This is not about tribe or okazi soup. It's about moral rectitude. A hoe of any tribe or nationality is a hoe. ![]() Even the Brazillian lady & Igbo guy, have they been married for 25 years? If after 20 years by God's grace, a Brazilian guy has not used Samba to take her away, then we can talk more. God saved me from one married Samba lady years back. Temptation. ![]() |
DeRay98:Word. On point. When a guy does same, they cry from the roof top and their bandwagon mates rain curses on all men ever created. Love is over-rated these days. It evaporates quickly when greener pasture beckons. OP's sister and alumni have clearly seen that. They only mind because they think with her sordid past, your sister should not become her sister-in-law. Girls know themselves. If she was worth it, she would not have kept it secret from your sister. Your sister would be delighted to have a dear friend become a sister. I have had close female friends that I'd not have encourage any of my relatives, including cousins, to marry. By the way, is her womb intact? Please avoid what I had to sadly go through. You have been warned. |
flightz:Just leave him. Insecure people easily get their ego bruised. He needs to look down on others to feel good about himself. Lol ![]() |
teamchocolate:With your massive ego, I pity your patients. Luckily where I am such dinosaurs are dying out. Only very few good egotistical people make very good docs and teachers. I can see your desire for title is overwhelming. Surgeons where I am don't even bear medical titles unless you become a prof later. Your disdain for allied health professionals is sick. I used to think other professionals just beefs docs in 9ja for nothing. But now, if you represent the mentality there, I can understand those beefing. Long way to go dude. Good luck. |
Very silly & lousy power drunk woman. Shame on her. Thinks she's above the law. Minister's wife ko, Boko wife ni. ![]() |
Benjom:cool |
teamchocolate:I disagree. It's very much about "bigmanity" syndrome in 9ja. From your condescending attitude shown towards JOHESU (I just googled the meaning). Flexing muscle unnecessarily over others. In modern times, there's no head or tail of medical team. The prof and or consultant could be head of medical/surgical team. The Nurse is head of the nursing team. Various health care professionals have various but ultimately complimentary roles/responsibilities within the team. Playing a leadership role based on experience/education should not relegate others. This is where medicine seriously needs to catch up with modernity. Especially in developing countries. I give you an example: A prof overseeing a triple CABG procedure became perplexed when the octogenarian (patient) became worryingly arrhythmic. Not responding well to anaesthetic intervention. He asked around the table what to do. IMA & saphenous veins were just being harvested. Various suggestions were offered. My humble one was to forge ahead, as the guy won't have a better chance next time either. The prof concurred. And I was by far the least experienced then. And old chap made it. ![]() Everyone has something to offer. |
Kx:End time things. All prophesied long ago. ![]() |
Great |
Some of these girls just have pretty face for nothing. Manners, courtesy they have never heard of. It just shows how crude such girls are. |
Funny thing is with diligence, she can save that money over many years. Patience is a virtue. |
mississipi:Lol. Nigeria is a mere geographical expression-Awolowo. When you understand how profound that statement is, from a visionary like Awo, nothing should seem weird to you now. ![]() |
Ladiva:Good Samakini? So because there are churches everywhere, you think that message makes sense to people? Most go there to show off wealth, check out a girl/guy & dance azonto. |
Sijo01:Yes. That's what you get in a heartless country with heartless leaders & heartless corrupt law enforcement agencies. So police could not first take the baby to police station, keep her warm and give at least glucose. That innocent life died out of dehydration, hypothermia and hypoglycaemia. Pity. RIP young blood. You were unlucky to come into wicked country. |
jpphilips:My brother, I don't know why he brought JOHESU in. I don't even know what JOHESU is. I just corrected his assertion that USA and most countries have no Health Minister. Then he came up with superiority of doctors over other healthcare professionals palaver. Haba! Even we that attended universities rated among top 20 worldwide, even top 10 mostly, we still don't go about looking superior to others. I just told him to chill and not consider other health workers inferior because everyone is there to help patients, not to feel superior. Shikena. ![]() |
teamchocolate:What is JOHESU again? Is that another church in Nigeria? You know all funny things are possible in Nigeria. ![]() Well, I had the opportunity to be with eminent physicians & surgeons. Some with the title "Sir" and "Lord" to their name. Some with Nobel Prize, and written medical & surgical books used across the world. The greatest thing one learnt from them was not their amazing pharmacological, surgical, anatomical, research or pedagogical skills, but their humility despite such achievement that changed medicine as we now know it. If an elderly man stands before you, he discovered drugs used to treat millions of people today, relieving symptoms, giving better QoL, prolonging lives & yet, he respects even the cleaners & care assistants as colleagues. All people in hospitals do a good job. No one is unimportant. Without the cleaners, MRSA and other pathogens would be all over the wards. Learn humility dude. ![]() |
playtheblues:I wonder o. We favour elitism over the masses. |
philfrey08:Amen o. True Jare. Benefit of early marriage. Now, we all want a Lamborghini before marriage. ![]() Na the baby & great grandma get swag pass. |
Some girls sha. How does "hey" = let's go for a drink or I like you? The boy saw thru her quickly. Sharp guy. ![]() |
Rose2014:That makes the Northerners better politicians (not competent administrators) than Southerners can ever dream to be. At least with 9ja as it currently is. When have you ever seen core Northern Muslims enthrone any Southerner except it happens by default (Gen. OBJ after Dimka coup in 1976) or to pacify their enraged ally ethnic group (again OBJ in 1999)? Each time, they were repaid immediately: Shagari & Yar'Adua. OBJ even duped Awolowo by changing the rules after election, as Awo was set to win parliamentary vote to be president, when the election did not give a clear winner. Northerners know how to use so called educated Southerners against each other. Just dangle money & position. |
Lanretoye:Is that how they are going to know what has been done on ground? By using Federal might to do gra-gra? Does it occur to you that some information might be sensitive that cannot be given publicly? Do you think all the information about Boko Haram known to govt is known to us the public? By the way, are you Adeshina or any other FG speaker or media appointee? ![]() |
Lanretoye:How do you know SG has not done anything? Would APC controlled media report anything good about opposition leaders? Nor be 9ja we dey? FG people came, instead of picking the brains of people on ground, using courtesy, they came to do gra-gra. They have obviously decided to come and shoot some innocent people in the creek and brand them militants. Only a matter of time. They should be careful though. |
Thebrightest:Well, if I had as much faith as Jesus, surely I could. I'm the first to admit I don't measure up to 1 gazzilionth of Jesus' faith. Nonetheless, there are basic teachings of his that if most of us followed even half of them, Nigeria and indeed the World would be a better place. |
darkenedrebel:The guy who proposed has been polishing her congo steady. Chai! Women. SMH. ![]() He just proposed without test-driving. Hahahaha. ![]() Some women can be very wicked, collecting goodies left and right. Oju kokoro. The same thing a girl did to me years back. Stories of guys hooking up oyinbo. Since some of these women cannot trust themselves to be faithful, they cannot trust men by default. The lady is in an unhappy marriage today, she wants to hook up with me. Tufiakwa! OP, make your bed & lie on it jeje. ![]() |
Aguveso:Ok, waiting for pics, email:4 area.fada@yahoo.com What is raft of two boards? Thanks. |
Over all, our major healthcare problem in 9ja is poor primary care. No family doctors/general practitioners in the communities to see people, educate, vaccinate and so on. Prophylaxis/preventive care would do a lot to improve health care. Even now that Lassa fever is around. Primary care ought to be the first point of contact for worried patients. |
