B3 in Physics, Chemistry, & Biology? All these private school owners should fear God o!

Do not say I'm being cynical, it's rare to see a student who will be good @ those three subjects @ the same rate. It's either he's a biological science oriented (good @ Biology & Chemistry), or physical science inclined (good @ Physics, Maths, and Further Maths).

Just my observation though...
Not true. Got same and higher in those subject combination in the 80s and almost everyone in class 5A (academic elite class) did. And then even added economics, Agriculture and Geography. A few managed it in English even. In a state government college. I think only now special centres and private schools have made some people lazy and cynical. He did well assuming it was solely his effort.

Abeg forget dat one . the fact is Nigeria has only won dis competition in 2013. The year in which our players wear fairly younger, although they are more than age 17 but are less than age 21 which is normal for most European countries too. most of those past under17 winning players never progressed much after the competition, but only few could excel aftermath the competition.
Well, speculation is easy. I'm talking of people I know. I remember submitting my WAEC enrolment form to school VP office. Because I looked big & tall, most school friends thought I was older, when in fact I was about the youngest. That I had passed my GCE a year earlier and help some of them school mates with subjects didn't help.

Why we have been programmed to be cynical and doubtful, it doesn't change the fact.

With the recent introduction of MRI Scanning, only a few failed it. I'm sure if they hadn't undergone that test, people like you would have said they were all over 35 years old.

In terms of progressing post Youth championship, here in UK, less than 10% of talented youth players get a professional contract when they turn 18. Youth talent doesn't always translate into professional success.

I watched Yakubu Aiyegbeni playing kids football. He was the last person I would have tipped to play in EPL. Only a couple more made it abroad. Far more talented players he played with never even made it to Bendel Insurance, NNB or Enugu Rangers. grin cheesy

hmmm Nigeria cheating at age grade competition since 1985
Not true. I knew some of them personally . They actually were still playing inter school football shortly before. I watched them play. Sure people started school older back then. Truth is some may not even really have known how old they were. That was still common then. So you assume 5 years when starting primary one. The oldest was probably around 18 or 19. grin cheesy

So duke just found his voice?where he dey since?
But this is very well known. GEJ was never at all interested in politics. He never even took a form to contest as councillor. It took DSP Alams many visits to persuade GEJ be be his deputy candidate for Bayelsa governorship election. Even when Alams had troubles, he never schemed to be governor. We saw his patience as VP with ill Yar'Adua. Leading Bayelsa PDP team to Eagle square in late 2006, he never even knew he would be Yar'Adua's running mate. Considering his circumstances, you have to say he did his best. Duke and Odili who wanted the job badly were considered overambitious by OBJ and sidelined. OBJ didn't want another Atiku in Aso Rock.

OBJ should remember that had GEJ probed his regime (to checkmate him as some suggested) he would have been found wanting. It should be GMB's decision to probe or not, not some utterly corrupt demi-god wanna be on a personal vendetta pushing him into it. When you point a finger at someone, the remaining 4 point at you.

There are still some uses of Achimedes principle. Essentially applying buoyancy.

Ship, hot air ballon, submarine, Research instrumentation like hydrometer & deep wave measuring platform.

Of course the knowledge is upgraded somewhat. Because the good old Achimedes probably didn't know much about surface tension of fluids or complex fluids like emulsions or foaming fluids where the principle doesn't hold often.

For his time, he was a genius. Especially his other inventions like the famous screw and lever that changed water transfer and buiding structures like bridges.

The combined harvester still uses the screw technology today.

judging from this case now most are the cause u make sure u take precautions first before u blame nature ai av a frnd in school he never told me mch bou himsef at first bt damn i knew sumtin was wrong he wud always tell me he wants to see me i refused cos i wasnt too ok wiv his attitude later on i discovered he takes in heavy drugs wat wud av happened if i had visited such
Or if i had visited a frnd who said he loves to afflict pain on a girl before avin sexxxx wiv her isnt it my fault if i go
Accidents u say if some drivers just stop over speeding and not be drunk driving which most nigerian drivers are fond of
Hardly do dey follow drivin regulations u see a trailer moving faster than a normal car or u see a commercial bus trying to over take a trailer cant they just b patient or u see a car just come out from kno whr on d road wiv out traficating there is a lot u shd kno bou the causes of most accidents
Most wont do a check on their cars before zooming out sha alot please a lot ok if u drive in lagos especially u wud understand wat am sayin
There are some misfortunes out there that wud av been cubbed or prevented not all misfortunes are nature cause ok
Same wiv rape nt all rapes are nature cause too
Nobody is saying we should not take precautions, every reasonable person should do so and most do. Many research findings and personal experience dealing with rape victims in a clinical setting show that the vast majority of rapes are carried out by people known to them. People they have a degree of trust towards: close friends, inlaws, course mates, teacher, neighbours, work colleagues. prospective lovers and even family members! As for accidents, they are usually caused by one person's error, neglect or irresponsibility BUT there are usually many innocent victims who could not have prevented it.

Excluding minors.
99% of rape victims are at fault.
I'm not in support of rape tho.
People really need clarification by legal experts as to what amounts to r.ape. The legal position is what really matters to society at large. Sure sex with a minor below the age of consent is automatically rape. But others are not so clear. Fact is if a girl says no and keeps saying no and you still hold her down, deprive her of liberty to leave or threaten and forcefully have any form of sex with her, then it's rape. Simple. That you both were petting heavily or she wore skimpy clothes, is no excuse before the law.

You as a lady should know the stigma attached to rape. Often the woman is blamed. Not all girls have the strength to go through the whole ordeal of being blamed, accused of sexy dressing, being doubted and publicity that goes with it. Some just try to bury it.

Fact is if that man could want to sleep with that 18 year old daughter of his friend just seeking admission, in a secluded office with almost nobody around, I won't put it beyond him threatening a near-graduate of failing her just to have his way.

@OP, well done.

As for the opposite sex, it can also be negative if it turns into several love affairs.
It can also lead to distraction if the opposite sex start inviting you to social events and you accept out of politeness.

A friend at uni was like that. He accepted invitation to the pub by virtually all our female friends. I warned him that all those girls inviting him had finished their assignments and read their books already. He thought he was very popular. Me kukuma head to work to make money after lectures. No time.

In the end he left with a 2.2 despite his brightness. A couple of those middle class white girls got 1.1, a few more got 2.1. His saving grace was that it was from a top uni. But he had to do MSc to progress in employment still.

I also think boys generally assist girls more than the reverse. But maybe boys are more shy to seek assistance from intelligent girls, and girls can also be less generous with their time. My observation.

As for lecturer friends extorting students, that seems to be in the 9ja setting, which I didn't go through. But very amusing I must say. grin cheesy

Who knows if this blog rumour is true?
Who has confirmed it?
Did their mum refuse DNA test for the kids?
We don't know the truth.

In any case, 50% of first born kids don't belong to supposed biological dad.

30% of all kids don't belong to supposed biological dad.

I personally know two people whose kids in 9ja failed paternity test and couldn't bring them abroad. shocked

With the advent of bb, Iphone and popularity of Brazilian/Preuvian hair, school fees, girls' desire for fine things from multiple boyfriends till wedding day & beyond, these percentages should increase significantly.

Nigerian girls now rank highest among the most unfaithful women, according to international research, among them is one sponsored by DUREX, the condom maker.

That's the ugly fact.

MKO Abiola & Femi Kuti are examples of people that some of their kids failed DNA/paternity test.
Romance › Re: Is It True That House Help (girls) Have A Reputation Of Accussing Bosses Of Rape by AreaFada2: 12:02am On Aug 09, 2015
It is possible, even some househelp now kidnap kids of the family for ransome. So trumped up rape for ransome is not far fetched. Everything is possible now.
However, some he-goat men actually do take advantage of housemaid.

But boundaries should be clearly defined from the outset.

No going to matrimonial bedroom. Maid should live in the BQ if there's one. Maid should never serve the man food.

Maid should get only very specifically defined instructions, if at all, from man of the house. Not " go collect dirty clothes from my bedroom, follow me to the garden shed, come with me in my car" and so on. Certainly no going to check on the maid in her BQ.

If done, avenues for maid and man of the house to be alone will be very limited. If adhered to, scope for both rape or false accusation should reduce.
