Now he wants to turn the country to Almajiri Beggars Republic. Hope he's not counting on Niger Delta oil money to use to feed beggars. Or he plans to plunder Foreign reserve, close govt parastatals like he did to Radio Nigeria Broadcasting branches last time, cancel capital projects like he did to Lagos Metro system. Use to feed Amajiri, ask them to poo and turn to manure or what. We could become net exporter of manure. In serious countries, school feeding is job of local councils. He plans to centralise govt more. How many jobs is he going to create and how? Does he plan to frog march jobless youths military style to grow groundnut up North & give them 5k monthly or totally free? How many millions of youths will be jobless by 29th of May and how much will the free money cost monthly/yearly? We need facts & figures, Not VOODOO BUHARINOMICS. The man is bereft of ideas. |
Still no reason to flog. There seems to be too much violence and acceptance of violence in our society. Suppose one of them had a heart attack and died during the flogging? A healthy young man dropped dead this past Xmas day. It could have been anyone at anytime, anywhere. He should have handed them over to the police and demand for money incurred cleaning the van. |
Bunsky:. Actually, if she stopped farming, she would have died too. Her body was used to that activity, stopping it isn't good for old people, maybe reduce the hard work a bit. The elderly used to physical exertion, don't live long if brought to the city to chill under AC doing nothing. RIP. Wicked world. |
Mrbigman1:. You see yourself. You don't know the meaning of human right. I guess the 9ja environment is the cause. I will defend anybody's right to live their lives legally, including religious freedom. Who told you I do voodoo? I'm a traditional Christian. We don't claim to possess power to do and undo but live by Grace of God & faith. Preaching around town as a kid, I met people who were still juju people. They were far better & honest human beings than the fake miracle Christians of today. If I'm going to make someone follow my religion, I can't achieve that through arrogance or insulting people. By the way, I studied religion/theology under some of the most accomplished Christian scholars including a popular Nobel Prize winner Bishop/activist. Nobody is going to come here and just claim whatever. |
TDstarr:. Who says she did the right thing? Must you insult a whole tribe or race because a certain person, who may or may not be from that tribe did something terrible? Is that the kind of minds churned out by Nigeria's comatose education system? |
Mrbigman1:. Is idol illegal? Why force your belief on others? Are you a jihadist? What makes you feel you will make heaven? Many are called, few are chosen. People like you always quote "judge not that you may not be judged" when their fake pastors are criticised BUT these bigots are the most judgemental people. If your mother & grandmother are witches, mine are not. So tell him to call your family witches. |
TDstarr:. Benin is even good. Where you come from, you're all 100% witches & wizards. Problem with people like you is that you cannot see beyond your nose. 90% of Japanese are not Christians/Muslims, neither are 80% of Indians. They follow their traditional beliefs. Where has copy-cat religion got you? Boko Haram & corruption with distinction. At least 30% of people in Benin are not Bini people. Did they even mention their names or tribe? But how can someone blinded by bigotry know that? What is wrong with someone worshiping Olokun? In Nigeria, traditional belief is legal. All those your miracle pastors consult Juju for power. That you go to a fake church, with fake pastor, never even following the Bible/Quran you claim to follow make you feel great, right? Rubbish. |
How much per acre sir? |
mizjules:. RIP. Well, maybe he's not as greedy/corrupt as people like to believe. We have become very cynical from decades of looting, so we hardly believe anyone is good now. |
Oh great. Broiler or layer? It's always the big question. I know someone who did layers for about 20 years. Small poultry though. Around 500 layers. Within the compound. But it was still fairly labour-intensive then. Quite profitable sha. She used point-of-lay birds only in later years. It would be nice to see how you get on with it. With the good tips you'll get here, you're sure to have a head-start. But still, if you're new to it all, visiting a farm/poultry to learn from it would help. |
(6) She tells you she's a virgin. Only to find out that other men have already used burantahi to turn her treasure into 10-lane carriage way long ago. ![]() |
taxyflo:. No, I don't believe in it because I cannot see any change agents in APC leadership. Talking about change, change to what? The change can be to something worse. Can you tell me anything promising positive change about Buhari? Osibanjo is politically untested. Not even as a deputy governor. If APC had Ribadu/Fashola in the ticket then I can see people tried and tested in a democratic setting. And both found less wanting than most. All APC is doing "make we just try enter power". Even Ambode of Lagos State has already released a manifesto, where's Buhari's own? After contesting 3 times, still none at hand? If Buhari tries all those ruling by fiat like 30 years ago, he will know Khakhi nor be leather. Even a cunning, streetwise and savvy people's guy like OBJ faced real threat of impeachment by NASS in his time, let alone an imperial guy like Buhari. OBJ had to resort to Ghana must go to get bills passed and stay in power. Now to your question. Possible solutions are these. (1) Remove immunity from all politicians except the President and VP. Even then ALL politicians can be investigated and evidence released. The national assembly on the weight of evidence can liaise with the Supreme court if the president should resign to clear his name or be impeached. (2) EFCC can be reformed and be independently funded. Corruption should be tackled in a non-partisan manner. (3) Judiciary should be funded independently and be TRULY independent. (4) Decentralise the govt to pre-Ironsi time (though presidential system can remain). States should be proper federating units. Abuja should only control foreign Affairs, Defence/National Security, National Police, (State Police or 6 Regional Police Services should be created), Pension, CBN, Internal Affairs, NHIS, etc. Services that impact directly on citizens devolved to states/local councils. (5) Resource Control. Now this scares the poo out of certain people. Actually it shouldn't. A successful country like Germany does that. Richer indusrial states like Bavaria, Baden-Wuertemberg, North-Rhine Westfalia etc, remit money to the centre (Bund) which is used to offset the deficit of less rich states, thereby ensuring social harmony and relative over all affluence. 40% to states generating oil, gold, tin, copper, coal, etc. Another 2.5 -5% (a kind of Solidarity Fund) set aside to develop the natural resources of other state for 15 years or so. States like Delta, Rivers, Bayelsa will get nothing from the centre, Ondo, Edo, Cross River will get a little from the centre, Yobe, Jigawa, Zamfara will get a lot more from the centre. National political positions should be less financially enticing. Those in it for the passion/commitment will find it more attractive. (6) Regions/States can set things like age of consent for marriage/sex, local laws that comply with religion & local custom/way of life. So we can have unity that is not stifling but in diversity. But how will all these fight Boko Haram? A more caring/efficient political system will create jobs and give citizens hope. Young people looking at a brighter future won't join Boko in droves. |
SOUNDKING:. God bless you. Some are just hiding under either religion or ethnicity to do their dirty politics. Nigeria is built on a very shaky/faulty foundation. No amount of whitewashing will change that. Certainly not a dictatorial feudalist who tried 30 years ago, failed woefully and was kicked out by his minions. If Nigerians are not ready to renegotiate their corporate existence (because the status quo suits the majority Northern/South-Western oil blocks hoarding elites), it will all explode in our faces one day. Boko from the North, MEND from SS, OPC from SW and MASSOB from SE, etc. So the ingredients are ready from a massive witch's couldron. That is how like play, like play, Somalia & Afghanistan turned to basket cases. |
prettyjo:. Your bestie who put one leg in Kyoto and the other in Vancouver for him nko? ![]() Does it occur to you that she may have jazzed your man plus manipulated him because she envies you so much? |
alexdellafonte:. People always fear what they don't know. And because of fear, their chances of knowing become even less. |
christian11:. Thanx. |
donnypool:. That's good. Regular medical & dental check up are just routine for me. Families always say autopsy won't bring him/her back. But it can help recognise some inheritable diseases that the living can guard against. Funny enough, in my part of 9ja, we have a long history of autopsy before Europeans came. My grand-dad was a traditional specialist in it. He even taught my dad as a boy. |
Soloxam:. There could very well be other animals involved. |
Soloxam:. Thanks Sir. I guess scarecrow won't work since cane-rats are mostly nocturnal. |
striktlymi:. Even Sanusi Lamido who married his first cousin must still be doing it. With kids running around and work pressures and more, sex won't be as spontaneous or be doing it all over the house as before BUT if you now have no desire to make love to your spouse at all, I'm afraid there's a problem. |
Soloxam:. I don't have a recent experience. But a young relative planted many acres of maize. It was vastly devoured by grass-cutters/cane-rats. I don't think he frequented the farm a lot after weeding. Around 70% was lost as they ate the pulp of the stem. How do you guard against that? |
Great thread |
Amusaopeyemi:. My dear, VJ washes itself. That's what the lactobacilli in a healthy VJ do. Rinsing it with water is best not washing with an array of chemicals/soaps that destabilise the flora. |
Fine African style. Lovely. |
ultimatetboy:. GMB will be busy cancelling all projects and sacking govt workers/closing govt agencies like he did to Lagos underground metro project and totally closing Radio Nigeria broadcasting service in several 9ja capital cities. Even late Baba go slow Musa Yar'Adua did same to OBJ's on-going projects. That's their method. A conservative Mallam in his 70s is NOT what a dynamic country with majority of people under 50 needs today. |
Great stuff |
esof1:. God bless you sweetheart. |
Your gf n your mate have been doing it for a long time. Otherwise, how do you open your legs for a guy that has just upset you in your bf's presence. She was only upset that he touched her publicly. Bitches ain't loyal dude. You dined with the devil with no spoon at all. Just make it a triangle relationship. There is fun in sharing. Otherwise kick both out for good. Shikena. |
alexdellafonte:. See yourself. According to a friend. How old are to believe everything a friend tells you? Look, when I was a kid, we heard rumours that if you cross River Niger eastward, you will end up in the pot of soup. As kids, we believed. However, over the years, we have several "beautilicious" Igbo ladies married into our family. We went to pay bride price and they didn't eat us. They have veritably enriched the family with their work ethic and commitment and all now speaking our language fluently. At a certain age, one should learn to be objective. You mentioned Ayelala, I have never seen anything like it in my village. We have more Juju in my Ondo side than Benin side. Even then, I'm proud of both. Many juju worshippers are far better people than many miracle-seeking Christians of nowadays. Now let me tell you what your obviously bigoted friend didn't tell you. (1) Christianity reached Benin before most places in West Africa. A 15th century Oba of Benin was already a Christian with King of Portugal sending Catholic Priests to Benin. (2) 9ja's oldest cathedral (Holy Aruosa) is in Benin. An indigenous church, centuries before all the white garment churches. (3) Pentecostalism that is now all-comers was largely popularised by Archbishop Idahosa (Ayo Oritsejafor was junior pastor under him) from Benin. (4) The 9ja HQ of Jehovah's Witnesses is even in Benin. (5) The white flowing attire worn by Benin chiefs is modelled on the cassock worn by catholic priests, a remnant of the ancient link between the church & Benin monarchy & aristocracy. (6) Slave trade was outlawed in Bini core of Benin Empire (Some non-Bini subjects/chiefs/elite opted to trade in non-Bini people with non-Bini businessmen), over 200 years before Britain decided to do so in 1807 (Slave Trade Act 1807). Why Christianity may be sharking some people new to it, we have a very long tradition of it. We have preserved many aspects of our culture that have a long and glorious history. People can throw away all their culture if they like but they will never become oyinbo. Counterfeit Oyinbo at best. Some youths of nowadays are too lazy for facts, they prefer rumours and gossip like grandmothers in the village. ![]() |
donnypool:. Very natural and I have seen loads of it in autopsy. Now what percentage of dead people (sudden, during op, suspicious, accidental, post discharge, in-hospital deaths) actually undergo autopsy in 9ja? Very few. Most deaths except obvious accidents/homicide/long illness) are actually unexplained deaths. Unexplained mostly become deaths caused by witches and wizards. Or in Pentecostal parlance "spiritual attack". |
alexdellafonte:. Lol @ bypass, I have been away for decades, but I still know the bypass would be closer to Benin than say Abuja or Sambisa forest. ![]() |
alexdellafonte:. Are diabolical people more powerful than God? Which part of 9ja do we not have some diabolical people? Ondo side of my family believe some people in their area are diabolical too. But can we base everything that happens on that? If you look at the poster's manner of writing, it is mostly people from the East who say "going to the village" even if going to a fairly big town like Orlu or even Okigwe. And almost all pass through Benin. I stand to be corrected though. |
