DSSC is the direct short service course. Usually for graduates of the professions. Med, Engr, MLS, Nurses, I think clergy, etc. usually under age 26. If you were elect/elect, marine or mech, I'd prefer it. Chemical engr research & army, hmmmm, not sure if you'll get the kinda role within it. I may be wrong though. You may end up never seeing a lab again. Since you're very young & and have passion for research, graduate well n take higher degree/degrees. It's exciting times research wise for biochem, biochem engr & chem engr research in the West. Follow your passion. |
babadee1:. Sir, I know comprehension is not everybody's forte but re-read this part "if Nigeria was a properly functioning country". Yes, time was when Yoruba people sought political posions in the East and Igbo sought in the West. Azikiwe vividly comes to mind & the acrimony that followed. We may have retrogressed in that regard but it was once deemed normal. Maybe our kids & grandkids can shed the toga of tribalism/bigotry and make it possible again. |
caprini1:. Yet you may not be allowed to become a governor, even if very qualified. If 9ja was a properly functioning country, Igbo would be the most cosmopolitan Nigerians. |
Good thread. |
chimerase2:. You see, many of these Eastern leaders were actually born & raised in Hausaland/Yorubaland. Don't be surprised if this governor feels closer to Buhari than GEJ from the South. Sam Egwu is actually OBJ's townsman. He was born at Owu, Ogun State. I heard Gov. Okorocha is Hausaland born. So usually, many Igbo people that mix up with the political elite of 9ja have mixed loyalty. Hence Ndigbo hardly speak with one voice. People explain it away with "Igbo are largely republican". That is surprising in an ethno-religious jungle called Nigeria. |

elantraceey:. Hahahaha. I yaff catchted you. Na nyanga ring be dat. ![]() Seriously me talk better, let me whisper in your ear, amebor alert! Shey you sabi dat mango tree for junction? 5pm. Shey you like Mama Nkechi rice? |
chiibekee:. No excuse to envy. You're either envious by nature or not. It's not about his generosity or lack of it, she feels more entitled to success than her hubby. The man just landed in Canada, may not have even have had time to show true behaviour (good or bad yet). What she doesn't realise is they are now joined AS ONE. God has probably blessed her efforts (menial jobs, rigmarole of obtaining papers, etc) with this succeeding hubby. You wonder why she can't see this as a collective/family success. Na wa o. |
elantraceey:. Better pikin. Abeg you don marry? ![]() |
Tbliss12:. Thank you Sir! Please edit same in your quoted post. |
Thanx @ Nixander. The info is good. I think what we need to do is look for how to sell wholesale in UK. Profit might be less but supplying bulk will make up for it. As for retail price per tuber, it depends on location/town/city. In London, average to small sized tubers, you get 3 for £5. Of course you will pay more in Oxford or Co Antrim, but yam eaters are fewer in those places. So one needs to have this in perspective. I have always thought the higher cost in Europe is due to freight cost. The maths needs to add up first. @ Lekan, yam is not really scarce in UK as the UK guy said, at least not in places like London, Manchester, Birmingham, etc. I think to have a relative advantage, price & quality of yams will matter. |
That story is almost as old as humanity. Many girls of nowadays don't give a poo about sanctity of marriage. Many cheat on their boyfriends and will do same in marriage. No need to pretend here, most men have never accepted monogamy, not King David, not King Solomon, not most men of today. Some men say sweet romantic things here to curry favour from Bebe2, Mukinatu, Idowu, etc. All na wash. A man faced with frequent temptations, chances are he will succumb. A young fresh girl, unrelated to your hubby in your marital home? Not in the 21st century. Trouble sleep, nyanga go wake am. Even Abraham took Haggai. If Sarah had written that part of the Bible instead of Moses, I wonder if the storyline would have been exactly same. |
iv4fb:. That's our problem in 9ja. Those old fashioned know crooks it. They know that we're very sentimental, so they keep us perpetually ignorant. Previous administrations were scared stiff of FOI. The information we now like to use (sometimes take at face value) against GEJ are only available because of FOI signed by GEJ. Not the act of someone who doesn't want transparency. Other govts bundled journalists into jail for daring to seek such information, closed newspaper houses to keep you and me blissfully ignorant. GMB was the very worst human right abuser. He hasn't changed. If GMB is really that popular, let Nigerians vote for him. Maybe people have enjoyed too much freedom lately that we have now forgotten the brutal past. I think sometime we adore people who maltreat us like animals. Maybe it's Stockholm Syndrome. |
NixandaStores:. Oh nice, can he/agent explain the procedure/Process? Costs, paper work etc? |
onyengbu:. Lots of people don't really read much, so they won't know. Quite funny to see that some claim not to have seen or heard of it before. An anti-democracy coup plotter cannot turn round and want to benefit from what he brutally truncated. See it this way, if some mad soldiers had overthrown the govt on 31st of December 2014, like he did in 1983 would Great grandpa Buhari be shuffling to Uyo & PHC to campaign now? |
Na wa o, corruption n incompetence everywhere. |
kingstylo01:Beware of Kunle. Omo jati jati. Omale. Buy this property from him at your own risk. ![]() |
Face-Me-I-Slap-You love! ![]() |
NixandaStores:. Sure yam is popular among Africans/Caribbean in UK & Europe. I'd like to know about export of both yam & Elubo too. I have tried asking sellers but they seem not willing to reveal their export/supply sources. |
please post more details, location, prices, sizes n capacities. |
That some Nigerians are pinning their hopes on a failed great-grandfather , thrice president wannabe, a kicked out coup plotter, an untested paper-weight, a bunch of looters and stooges is amazing. Change with Fashola, Ribadu etc would be a bit plausible. These lots? Nah. That these people are mentioned in the same breath as hope shows our predicament as a nation. |
Tbliss12:Thanks sir. |
Tbliss12:. Able corper, Happy New Year. Good to hear about Benin axis coming up soon. Abeg, out of paper yam, Ogoja yam and Gboko yam, punch yam, which is best to make pounded yam (texture wise) and which is best to eat taste wise like potato? |
barcanista:. Are you a learner or a kid? A man who committed treason to get to power in 1983? Or you don't know if he had failed, he would have been shot like a common criminal? The govt of Obj in which he was Oil minister made coup treason. And 1979 constitution too. He didn't only threaten, he raped the nation by overthrowing a govt elected by the people democratically. Then he threatened to make the country ungovernable for GEJ, soaking monkey & baboon in blood. And suddenly boko haram attacks surged through the roof. His blood is the one to spill, no more innocent blood. |
koboko69:. True, it doesn't mean. It means anarchy! And more funding for Boko Haram. After all for APC & Buhari, boko are not violent, they're only carrying out just normal Jihad. |
hotmas911:. Hotmas my brother, happy new year. Near or not too far from the rice paddies, are there any good rice mills? I mean those that leave do not leave much stones in the processed rice. How easy is it to sell local rice? I'm a very big fan of local rice, if not for too many stones. Thanks Sir. |
tit:. It is because we tolerate short cuts and bribe our way through exams, school admissions, employment etc. We're very allergic to due process. If you go for any interview for school admission or job employment and you're asked to bring your relevant certificates, you do just that. But in 9ja, we start to use tribal, political and ethnic sentiments, bribery and totally ignore simple, transparent due process. And we wonder why we're getting nowhere? |
Ilekeh:. Nor be small thing o, the lady na muaaah. But looks too young to be her mum. |
hyfr:. He thought he was imposing his errand boys on us. But Yar'Adua & Jona fashi him after getting power. Patriotism 101: OBJ put the nation first, not your self-interest when selecting leaders. He left people like Donald Duke and other people not too infected by the cankerworm of political corruption and forced Jona on us. Your Frankenstein's monsters dey bite you & everyone. You must be very proud of yourself. |
muktarmtt:. Words like 2011 is the last time I'm going to contest, bah? That GMB failed to keep? |
