Look, 2 Timothy 3:2 answers this perfectly. That people will be lovers of themselves, of money, ungrateful, proud, etc.

What wonders me sometimes is that some of the most ungrateful come from the poorest backgrounds. Some may be better off now but if you check carefully they began poor.

Those that are so ungrateful are also the least likely to show such kindness to others. Therefore they do not know what it takes to sacrifice for others.

I see it this way. The devil may want to frustrate you. Because if you see so many people who are ungrateful, you might give up doing the good that God has put in your heart to do. Then the devil will win. So just do it to God's glory. That's how I cope with it. Though not always easy.
