A voluntary 6 months to one year of work in hospitals, rural communities, schools, farms, Military, public and private institutions should suffice.

With a record of such voluntary service positively taken into consideration in public sector employment and vying for political office.

But at least, it took about 14 years before governors began quitting PDP. And we were still learning democracy back then o. After 16 years of sorry military misrule. PDP had to start afresh, rebuild insitutions, etc. They made a pig's ear of part of it but still, they held largely together. The groups/parties and leaders that formed APC had 16 years to learn from PDP mistakes.

While they are all as bad as it comes, APC's unraveling is way too quick for a party in power centrally, in NASS and in most states, is way too quick.

Obaseki is not a grassroot politician. His entrance into PDP will naturally displace lots of PDP members, who will in turn take refuge in APC.

Grassroot or top tree politicians, how do career politicians benefit the masses?

Their loyalty is to their acolytes who rig elections for them. If Obaseki can win on any platform, perform for the masses and displace hangers on to GNPP, PRP, NRC, SDP, NCNC and any dead or alive political parties, who cares?

If I was Obaseki, I'd have just done only 4 years, really impact on 2 or 3 key areas only and leave politics.

I couldn't do business with the brutes and thugs that litter Nigerian politics.
