And it is true.
The same relationship that Afghanistan share with Pakistan.
If u only know the consequences of having bad relationship with your neighbours you won't be here peddling surreptitious Ethno-religious hatred. The French speaking neighbours are our brothers than the beasts who enslaved, tortured, destroyed our future generations to come that your mental inferiority is still inclined to. See this political Bishop who can't make simple investigation and find what actually happened.
The issue of snake swallowing money happened under PDP adminsitration and investigated by NASS committee under this adminsitration. I wonder when most people will understand that most corrupt practices are orchestrated by Civil Servants who have been there since military adminsitration not politicians. All the alleged money said to have been swallowed or eaten by snake or monkey was carried out by Civil Servants. The AGF is also a civil servant and many other cases. If this is the case, the Bishop should descend his energy on pulpit and keep reminding his congregations who on weekly basis pay tithes with some part of that loot to fear God and eschew misappropriation of public funds other than politicizing what he is ignorant of!

No hating on kwankwoso but dude is wasting his time. To become Nigeria president, you must 25% in 24 states and also secure the highest votes cast. How does he intend to achieve that in just the core north.

Even Atiku in 2019, used the south and north central to get the first requirements of 25% of in 24states. Apart from Adamawa, Atiku scored 25% in just one state in the core north.

2023 dynamics is really different, and Obi have got an upper hand than any other candidates.

Obi only need to work harder in north central and christian votes in the north.
You are extremely delusional and I swear to almighty God that Obi can't win Presidency come 2023 going by the permutation of winning Presidential election with requisite of getting majority of casted votes and winning at least 25% in at least 25 (2/3) states across the 6 geopolitical zones. The most delusional reasoning is thinking that religion can give u vote and believe me Northern Christians will vote for PDP more than LP. Going by that religious notion I believe LP tend to lose votes in some states in the so called NC. Assume your delusion works, do u think the total number of SS, SE and NC (17 states combined) if all voted for Obi can match the requisite votes to make him President? Ponder well and campaign based on competence but this religious outcry will have repercussions aftermath of 2023 election. Watch out, I hope you won't carry arms and face the wrath of Nigerian arm forces when Tinubu is declared winner of the forthcoming election. Emotions and Ethno-religious based delusion can't give u power, guys!

PoliticsRe: FG Moves To Release 30 Per Cent Of Prisoners Across Nigeria by ArewaNorth: 10:53pm On Oct 09, 2022
Blue3k:
This shows two fundamental issue with prison system. The federal government shouldn't be housing state local inmates. The solution to the is to decentralised prisons. The simple solution to that long term is amend constitution by deleting prisons from exclusive list. The short term solution is NASS pass a law saying The FG will no longer hold Non federal inmates by December 31, 2024 for example. This will force states to build their own facilities and reduce fiscal burden on the FG.

The second issue is the the difficulty in getting bail in Nigeria. If States could determine their own bail requirements by law or have guidelines for judges we would have so many sitting in jail. The next big solution is offering guilty inmates time served while sitting in jail on trial. Again it reduces fiscal burden and they served their punishment anyway.

ps: It's sad Nigeria current statesman like Aregbesola and Buhari aren't very strategic or smart. Since Prisons are in the exclusive list you can just force the responsibility in the states if you please. Use the Majority post in NASS for something useful. This would give leverage to force states to delete prisons from the exclusive list. Yes strong arming is better than slow consensus building and endless meeting in this case.

front page: Lalasticlala Mynd44
Go and review the recently concluded constitution amendment carried out by NASS around February. About 90% of the contentious issues and call for restructuring have been amended/addressed, many items from exclusive list were removed and I think last week Speaker HoR asked State Assemblies to work on what they transmitted to them. Now States can have their prisons as amended if State Assemblies can do the needful....

Recently, the vice president Yemi Osinbajo via his media handle informed Nigerians about a knee operation he was about to undergo (successful).
Just that gesture alone and the fact that the said operation was done in Nigeria made me ponder and think, why does the APC enjoy making things hard for itself as a party ? Why does it enjoy bringing out the worst and even when they bring out a popular candidate like David Lyon in Bayelsa, they refuse to do their homework properly ? I tire for this party o, here is a man (Osinbajo) who immediately calmed tensions in the polity when Buhari officially handed over power to him years ago while going on medial tourism, this man came to my Niger Delta region and endeared himself to everybody, here is a sound and intellectual man that can easily rub shoulders with any world leader today, someone who captains of industry would be rest assured of their investments yet they shunted him for Tinubu. God forbid, the way Gokada and co left Lagos makes me dred a Tinubu presidency but I digress.
History will be kind to Yemi Osinbajo, people may ask why he didn't resign from this government but they won't understand the intrigues. I wish he could be my president next year. He's easily acceptable with a proper structure on ground, we just have to make do with what we have now and make the best choice out of the available options.

Peace
It is pitiful how u think speaking the Queen's language eloquently is a proven competence and few weeks adminsitrative or party issues resolution could've been a solution to other multifaceted challenges in the country. PYO ie extremely weak for the conspiracies of this Nation.
APC would've lost election with Osinbajo on ballot paper as her candidate irrespective of his running mate.
Can't you use your sense and avoid such nonsensical accusations?
Osinbajo contested the primary election and came third not even second and you are here complaining not seeing the consequences of his emergence as the party's flagbearer. Buhari did excellently well for taking neutral position, I don't know what u could be saying by now.
Your green snake candidate would've been a disaster for APC, it would've been a free ride for Atiku!

Quodseverismete:
*How PMB/APC Government put Nigeria in perpetual debt and they think APC will win 2023 election*

https://www.premiumtimesng.com/regional/nwest/544216-nigeria-broke-as-debt-payment-exceeds-revenue.html

*SERIOUSLY SPEAKING :*

Nigeria is sinking to bankruptcy by 2026. And only presidential candidates with disposition and competence to re-engineer of economy without corruption and padding could rescue this nation from the brink of collapse of the Naira, inability to pay salaries and contracts, recession and retrenchment should be sought for at this critical time.

I do not think people realize how important 2023 is. That is why it seems very few are focusing on issues that matter. *What a pity.*

Let me explain

Last year Nigeria made:

₦970.3 Billion from oil

₦1.6 Trillion from non-oil taxes [More revenue from this than oil]

₦2.8 Trillion from a cumulative of other sources.

In total the country brought in ₦5.5 Trillion in revenue

Then it gets really crazy from here.

Out of that ₦5.5 Trillion revenue, ₦4.2 Trillion was spent on servicing (repaying) debts from January to November.

So what is left after paying debts is ₦1.3 Trillion.

Which, as a matter of fact; means that what is left after repaying what we owe is not enough to run the country…

…because in the 2021 national budget, the nation needs to run on a total of ₦13.57 Trillion.

So since we just have ₦1.3 trillion left, an extra ₦12.27 trillion is needed.

Where do we get it?

Yes, you guessed right - we borrow.

In 2021 Nigeria spent ₦12.56 trillion - most of which were borrowed money spent on things that do not bring money back (salary, fuel subsidy, LOOTING, etc).

So if Nigeria was a man who makes ₦100k a month, he borrows ₦5 million every month to pay for light bill, and running of the house.

See the picture now?

Scary, isn’t it?

The excess Crude oil account (which is like our savings) is almost empty.

So not only does this man borrows like a crazy person, he has no SAVINGS for emergencies (like if his boss decides not to pay salary).

Anyways, the finance minister thinks we are doing alright. That what we have is a revenue problem - and not a debt problem & if we make more we will be alright (this is why they are taxing everything)

Of course, she could be lying.

…but she maybe right too.

The rule is we should NEVER borrow more than 40% of our GDP.

We are at 36.9%

3.2% more and all the alarm bell goes off.

Now - imagine if our revenue keeps dropping, and the debt keeps increasing. And one day - voom - 3.2% crossed!

Then we will really have a debt problem.

Since we currently borrow to pay salary, when the alarm goes off - further borrowing is a disaster:

The Government will struggle to pay salary.

(Which is scary considering that the Government is the biggest employer of labour in Nigeria)

More Taxes will be imposed to raise money, Including tax of Goods which will increase the prices you pay on Foreign rice for example.

Our currency will get futher devalued.

Which means things will get even more expensive in the market.

This is the state of the nation…YET…

…the politicians still loot and take home fat salary.

Imagine if we get the wrong President in 2023, who will not get these things fixed.

Imagine the disaster if we push over that 3.2%

If you think politics does not affect you, then maybe you do NOT see the full picture.

Which is why i laugh at people who ignorantly say - ‘’I am not interested in politics’’

Well, guess what it? It is interested in you.

The person who becomes the President will affect the price of your bag of rice…

…your cynlinder of gas

It affects whether or not it is safe to drive from Kaduna to Abuja or fly…

…or whether you need to pay 7.2% or 20% VAT on your Facebook ads.

It affects whether you keep selling on your Instagram page or whether Instagram gets banned in the country OUT of the blues.
It affects the shipping fee you pay 9n your Tokurbo car.

Get the picture?
This NOT the time to be tribalistic or want a president from any part of Nigeria. It is a time for THE RIGHT ONE.
You really need to get involved in any little way you can. Even if to get PVC, try go vote,if your vote does not count, they won't be chasing people away at polling stations.
God bless you Kindly as you respond this Clarion call !
https://www.premiumtimesng.com/regional/nwest/544216-nigeria-broke-as-debt-payment-exceeds-revenue.html.
The debt servicing in Nigeria is undoubtedly alarming but the analysis is completely wrong and doesn't reflect the current reality.

In a report released titled “FIRS 2021 Performance Update,” the agency said the total revenue of N6.405 trillion in both oil (N2.008 trillion) and non-oil (N4.396 trillion) revenues surpassed its target of N6.401 trillion for the year.
In the report, FIRS said it collected N1.896 trillion as companies income tax, petroleum profit tax (N2.008 trillion) and value-added tax (VAT) at N2.07 trillion in 2021.

Nigeria's debt-to-GDP Ratio is 34.98% in 2022. Debt-to-GDP ratios above 77% can hinder economic growth and (in some cases) place a country at risk of defaulting on its debts, which could wreak havoc on its economy and financial markets.

9. Spain (National Debt: €1.09 trillion ($1.24 USD))
10. Singapore (National Debt: $350 billion ($254 billion US))
Japan, with its population of 127,185,332, has the highest national debt in the world at 234.18% of its GDP, followed by Greece at 181.78%. Japan's national debt currently sits at ¥1,028 trillion ($9.087 trillion USD). After the stock market crashed in Japan, the government bailed out banks and insurance companies and provided them with low-interest credit. Banking institutions had to be consolidated and nationalized after a period of time and other fiscal stimulus initiatives were used to help reboot the struggling economy. Unfortunately, these actions caused Japan’s debt level to skyrocket.

Foreign AffairsUkraine War Drains U.S Ammunition Stockpiles by ArewaNorth(op): 2:41pm On Oct 08, 2022
The United States will soon be unable to provide Ukraine with certain types of ammunition that are essential to Kyiv’s battle against Russia’s invasion, as supplies are being used up faster than they can be replaced.

Washington has become by far the largest supplier of arms to Ukraine since Russia launched the invasion on February 24, with more than $16.8 billion in military assistance provided since that date.

But US stockpiles of some equipment are “reaching the minimum levels needed for war plans and training,” and restocking to pre-invasion levels could take years, Mark Cancian of the Center for Strategic and International Studies wrote in a recent analysis.

Washington is “learning lessons” from the conflict about ammunition needs in a great power war, which are “far greater” than expected, a US military official acknowledged on the condition of anonymity.

American defence firms were forced to drastically reduce production in the 1990s as the United States slashed defence spending following the collapse of the Soviet Union, and their number fell dramatically, from dozens to single digits.

Now, the US government must convince the industry to reopen assembly lines and relaunch production of items such as Stinger anti-aircraft missiles, which have not been made since 2020.

Some US-provided equipment has become emblematic of the war in Ukraine, such as Javelin anti-tank weapons that were widely used by Kyiv’s forces to blunt the Russian advance on the capital, and the Himars, a precision rocket system now playing a key role in counter-offensives against Moscow’s troops in the east and south.

‘No alternatives’
But US stocks of ammunition for Himars – which fires GPS-guided rockets known as GMLRS, with a range of more than 80 kilometres (50 miles) – are dwindling.

“If the United States sent one-third of that inventory to Ukraine (as has been the case with Javelin and Stinger), Ukraine would receive 8,000 to 10,000 rockets.

“That inventory would likely last several months, but, when the inventory is exhausted, there are no alternatives,” said Cancian, who previously worked on weapons procurement for the US government.

“Production is about 5,000 a year. Although the United States is working to increase that amount, and money has recently been allocated for that purpose, it will take years,” he said, adding that older equipment could help fill the gap.

The United States has provided some 8,500 Javelin missiles to Kyiv, but the production of a weapon that has become a symbol of Ukrainian resistance is only about 1,000 per year.

The US government ordered $350 million worth of the missiles in May, but it will again take several years before stockpiles are replenished.

The United States has also supplied more than 800,000 NATO standard 155 mm artillery shells to Kyiv – three-quarters of the total amount delivered by all Western countries, according to official Pentagon statistics.

The amount of shells Washington has provided “is probably close to the limit that the United States is willing to give without risk to its own warfighting capabilities,” Cancian said.

US production of these shells currently stands at 14,000 per month, but the Pentagon has announced that it aims to increase that figure to 36,000 within three years. That would still only bring annual production to 432,000 – less than half of what has been provided to Ukraine in seven months.

And the US defence industry production is speeding up, Laura Cooper, a senior defence department official responsible for Russia and Ukraine, said Tuesday.

“The United States will continue to stand with the Ukrainian people and provide them with the security assistance they need to defend themselves for as long as it takes,” she said.

No MDAs receive annual allocation from Govt as Tertiary Education in Nigeria.

So what are u talking about.
If we are truly sincere on our criticisms we should first ask ourselves how much is the gross income of the Nation that has 200m, 36 states and FCT, more than 800 MDAs, dilapidated roads to maintain, electrical power projects expansion, agricultural programs, foreign affairs, running cost, capital and recurrent expenditure, Healthcare among social amenities and infrastructure needs of our populace!
Nigeria earns averagely N16trillion annually for all the mentioned responsibilities.
How is it possible for us to allow other sectors to decay for unrealistic salary demands of few people and I'm sure if Govt try to privatize the system because of the burden and pressure you and them will be crying like babies.
ASUU-FG 2009 agreement captured in 51 pages MOU stated that between 2009 and 2011 FG universities should be given N1.5trillion each while state Govt universities be given N3.6m per student each. How is this realistic?
Is better we encourage diversification of economy, enhanced and transparent revenue collection system and alleviate corruption to the barest minimum than speaking in deep ignorance!
EducationRe: FG To Present Certificate Of Registration To CONUA (Breakaway ASUU Faction) by ArewaNorth: 3:00pm On Oct 04, 2022
othermen:
The registration is unconstitutional.

Section 3(2) of the trade union act provides that no union shall be registered to represent workers in a place where there already exists a trade union.

Ngige would orchestrate the withdrawal of ASUU’s certificate, once the Union(ASUU) is deregistered (the issue of not submitting financial statements, contempt of the court could serve as the basis) , this registration of this illegal congress body would then be used as encumbrance to forbid a re-registration of the union (ASUU).

To Ngige, this is all a power game. He doesn’t care about the lives involved.
You are very very wrong. Mulitple unions with different mission and vision are allowed.
Last week I withdraw my engagement with one union and joined another in the same work place because the latter has more welfare plans for workers than the former...

Nigerians are heartless. They even steal from the little children that needs all the nutrient from the food. School feeding should be at the local government level. Federal government is a joke. They should be probed when they leave office and after that, bundled into the nearest maximum security prison and summarily executed.
You started telling the truth and ended up derailing from fact. FG disburses the money to coordinators at States and LG levels and the coordinators are stealing almost all the money in almost all the states. So, is this the fault of FG?
Are we animals that we can't do everything right except when EFCC, ICPC and other enforcement agencies force us to so so?
We need to behave like human beings, act like human beings; act right, actively and proactively. We need to stop seeing everything in the prism of politics and politicking before we get things right!

Whatever the case may be Atiku will get significant votes in the mentioned states but the ruling party fsctor make it impossible foe him to get higher vote than APC in the following states:
Kano(NNPP), Katsina, Kaduna, Jigawa, Zamfara, Kebbi, Gombe, Nasarawa, and Niger. Nigerians especially in the listed states are now despaired about getting a good leader and the population of people in rural areas in those states will tremendously be used to beat opposition party. I wonder how can someone at the comfort of his room will be making such kind of silly and deceptive analysis!

Are u people not tired of this shameful attitude?
You accused others of making someone's Govt ungovernable. Now the same people took over from ur clueless man and nobody is accusing u of making anybody's Govt ungovernable. Still you want to extend your hatred, blame games to another Govts?
You need to rest and learn the art of politics and how the game is played otherwise you will keep blaming others for years and live in isolation for many more decades!

This is what happen when a President (aged) rules a vast population and he has no 'Foundation of Education' at all... He will not be moved since people aren't agitating on how the grind down each COWS found in the country.
Btw; Imagine Atiku continuing where Mr President stops with the same COW mentality, It will be better if Nigerians start preparing to relocate to the nearest neighboring country. Very funny days ahead my fellow country Men!!!
Ethnic bigotry isn't a solution to our problems. Have u suddenly forgotten how we had 2 former Lecturers a PhD holder, GEJ and Umaru Yaradua whose Govt signed the unrealistic agreement with ASUU?
Those same people who are educated and don't have cow mentality failed education woefully.
On the other hand, I heard one former Governor who is contesting for Presidency now, ASUU chapter of his state embarked on about 8 months strike and during his regime he skyrocketed registration fee of his State University, that is someone who passed through school but the school didn't pass through him.
